Well, people who criticize S5 mainly talk about second part of it (and Derision)

That is true.

Though honestly Derision is only hated as much as it is because of how it treats Chloé.

Though for me, I’m more annoyed at Kim and Sabrina. Chloé as of season 4 was basically a mustache twirling villain. So it didn’t phase me.

Plus I do enjoy episodes in the second half. Protection, Emotion, intuition, Representation. All banger episodes.

Season 5 has a lot of great episodes

It also has a few stinkers.

The only issue with season 5 is really the ending. Which I still will argue makes Voltron’s ending seem genius in comparison.

But I digress. It’s still has appeal as a season.

#sure the voltron ending was an asspull but at least there weren't important secrets being kept and gaslighting #also almost everyone got a happy ending in voltron. the only one who did in s5 was gabe but he still died

the fact that reboots used to be like thirty or forty years apart and are now instead like 3-10 years apart is absolutely ridiculous. like are we so trapped in a capitalist hellscape that instead of us naturally cherishing a beloved piece of media like it deserves and looking forward to NEW stories with NEW universes we have to watch the same thing over and over and over again with reboot after reboot after reboot until that media has been so sucked dry that us as an audience are literally sick at the mere mention of it

i am not joking when i say trolls have gotten shittier at what they do. successful trolling and flamebait is a lost art. nowadays they just send you an ask like "it's really problematic that you did XYZ" expecting you to get angry and defensive. and thats because most people have honestly really failed to adapt to this kind of trolling? it keeps working, they keep doing it.

if an anon criticizes you all like "im a lesbian and-" or "im a trans man and-" or "im a poc and-" or whatever thats your queue to disregard everything they say. because you cant verify that. you have to internalize that it's in your best interest to treat all annoying anons as being sent by the same white middle class american cishet guy named kyle, and he just has a lot of free time and no friends.

"but what if it's not kyle! what if theyre actually a lesbian/trans man/poc/&c?" well theyre not looking for open discussion, if they were they wouldnt send an anon ask. so it literally doesnt matter, treat them as if theyre kyle anyway. and remember youre not a public figure youre literally just blogging, you dont need to be "held accountable" for anything.

and same goes for "thoughts on [controversial topic]?" and "why did you do [accusation]?" type anon asks. thats kyle again, hes just gotten bored with claiming every marginalized identity under the sun. if they wanna prove theyre not kyle all they gotta do is uncheck that box.
