finding other adults who are serious about how much they like things is so good for the soul. i've barely scratched the varnish off my thirties but i've already reached my lifetime limit of trying to coax enthusiasm out of people who shy away from their interests and refuse to engage in enjoyment of things.
our tai chi teacher is leaving abruptly in a month and i went out and bought a gratitude card. i looked at it before bringing it to class tonight and thought maybe it's too earnest, maybe gratitude isn't what other people feel toward him. whatever, i brought it to class anyway. two other people said they were also thinking of buying one. people starting signing the card and they wrote the most heartful messages! someone is planning on getting him a singing bowl and yet another person wants to hand-carve a wooden box for it! people have been attending the class because they like it! they want to be there! they're passionate about it and they're grateful for the teacher who passed on this knowledge!
i have no time anymore for people who do the dance of jaded pessimism. especially people who refuse to be engaged with anything and then complain about how depressing the world is, and snipe at other people for enjoying things whole-heartedly.
These are the actual colours I painted with, but I played around a bit with gradient maps to get a few variations... I like them all, and cannot really decide which I prefer.
Ref is from this.
I'm in awe of how we ran historical revisionism on the civil rights movement so bad that people truly believe it was quiet self-sacrifcial non-disruptive christ-like activism that forced progress and not — like — the incredible economic pressure of boycotts and outbreaks of illegal civil disobedience
Yapping to the choir but eughhh it burns me up girl effective protests have to be loud and inconvenient for change to happen because silent cries die in the dark that's the entire pointtt
Edit: muted this monstrosity but if you're looking for the blank template it's on my blog and I'll tag this and it with "the stupid fucking shorts post" so you don't have to scroll through everything 💀😂 (I did not make the template btw, I don't know who the OP is but if you do please let me know)
Having a therapist who isn't used to trans patients will truly have you feeling like Koko the gorilla trying to articulate your feelings in a coherent way. "No peepee huge honkers, I cry? Huge honkers no peepee, sadness, doctor."
I'm getting so pissed with people who are saying Gwen isnt trans. Like they're trying to explain why her dad has a trans patch on his jacket and why she has a trans flag in her room, by saying she supports trans people... wtf???? Literally what ally has a TRANS FLAG, IN THEIR ROOM, BECAUSE THEY SUPPORT TRANS PEOPLE??? That's some shit closeted me would tell my parents when they saw me drawing rainbows. People that are saying this shit are literally just transphobic and dont want her to be trans. Gwen is trans and fuck everyone that argues against that.
What's that bro? You began interacting with a media from a different country than yours and/or was made in time period different than the recent present day? Haha that's sick bro! Keep expanding your horizons bro! You're remembering to take into account that sociocultural norms, gender roles and genre expectations are different from what you are used to and meeting the story halfway, instead of forcibly superimposing your ideals into the story, right bro? Right? Right?
