I think a lot about how all versions of Watson don’t see themselves as anything special, meanwhile all versions Sherlock Holmes are looking at them like “This is the most wonderful human being who ever lived and the only person I want to spend all my time with for the rest of my life.”
Teeth are bullshit. What do you mean you’re decaying. Get a fucking grip. You’re a bone now act like it. You don’t see my finger bones decaying from jerking it too much now do you
Kinda love the thought of Nagito becoming a Future Foundation intern. (Presumably in an AU where they did find the "survivors of Hope's Peak Academy" but didn't find out the truth about them, so they just have a bunch of very weird alumni crawling around. If Toko or Komaru ever lay eyes on Nagito, like for example he passes through the background of a video call, it's going to be SUCH DRAMA, but I'm getting ahead of myself.)
He told Munakata, with a straight face and an angelic smile, that he'll be very focused on his job, but once they let him in, he is singularly devoted to Makoto Naegi and does very little to hide it.
He quickly learns how Makoto likes his coffee, tea, snacks from the vending machine, and goes above and beyond to make sure his usual choices are ready by the time he makes it to the office in the morning. Makoto is the only one he does stuff for without being asked. Everyone else he will generally obey (unless doing so would interfere with taking care of Makoto), but Makoto rarely has to ask him for anything.
He overhears someone arguing with Makoto and "accidentally" spills something on them; Makoto gets to exit the conversation while Nagito is cleaning it off. That person is lucky that he found out there's a problem right then, in public. If he found out Makoto was having a problem with someone when he had time to plot a more aggressive (and, in his mind, effective) solution, he would be way more dangerous.
He invades Makoto's privacy, but in ways he can feasibly get away with, like Makoto forgets something at home and Nagito goes and gets it for him without telling him he's about to do it. Makoto is confused as to how Nagito got past his locks, but he's in too much of a hurry, and he's too busy feeling relieved that he has what he needs for the upcoming meeting, to really question it. If Nagito gets caught in Makoto's living quarters, he can legit make Makoto believe he asked him to be there, or at least make him believe that there was some perfectly reasonable misunderstanding where Nagito thought he was asking him to be there.
Makoto is kind of guilty about it, like, "Hey, Komaeda, do you think that...I'm your boss? Because I'm not..."
The Parallel Theory (AKA The Original Kuroshitsuji Anime Is Relevant, Actually,)
So I’ve just watched the original anime s1 again in full for the first time in years, and while I was expecting to find some parallels with the manga so far, I wasn’t expecting to find such a wealth of information as I did. So here’s an essay-length breakdown of all the similarities so far, and the plot points that I think are yet to be. Feel free to point out anything I missed!Â
Genuine warning that underneath the read-more this is a few thousand words, and when I say essay-length I mean it.
Note that the anime had a different order of events to the manga, and the arcs are as follows:
Intro Episode ~ Kidnapping Arc -> Ripper Arc -> Houndsworth Arc -> Magic Camera Episode -> Thames Last Froze Enough For A Fair In 1814 This Is Highly Inaccurate (Ice Fair Episode) ~ Drocell’s Arc -> Curry Arc -> Ghost Princes Episode -> Monastic Cult Arc -> Lady Blanc Arc ~ Servants and Chess Episode -> Paris Episode ~ London Fire Arc (Final)
R!C wanted to be by O!Cs side due to his Cinematic record. Obviously he can’t change his records but as far as I know it can be expanded by adding new episodes.
His memories for the past 3 years were not happy at all. He was forced to watch and know everything his brother did , one could say he would be happy to watch him but being stabbed to death and revived in this weak body must have frustrated him.
Pre-death Ciel would’ve jumped on his twin and showered him with hugs and love but instead he just.. as Lizzy said , “up to no good”.
Whatever he felt the past 3 years was not love , maybe jealousy , anger or even hate.
I believe he is driven by his desired future but the “new added episodes and feelings” affected his decisions.
This is why what he does and says doesn’t make sense to me.
It’s as if he was split into two.
1- he smiled softly but his hand was clinched , indicated some negative feelings.
2- he got mad when was called an imposter , then he smiled devilishly , implying his brother IS the imposter here not him.
3- when Tanaka explained everything , R!C smiled slyly and scolded O!C. He took pleasure while hurting him unlike the sweet big bro who promised to stay by his side lol.
4- he laughed as his brother’s teary face then claimed he has no intention to reprimanding but was so delighted when others did that? He even did that himself. And was way too cool when Lizzy accused O!C of lying.
5- he forgot to retrieve the Ring :) he went all his way to draw a tongue on the wall but still never mentioned the ring at all heh. As if he was just angry with his twin for cutting him open to get the ring out , he wasn’t really interested in the ring itself.
6- he said the same phrase but with two different expressions ? I don’t know why but at first he seemed angry and bitter to know his brother wasn’t happy to see him so he said it almost as if he was mocking him “lol I was by your side bitch, I saw Everything you did” but then he softened at the idea he was by his side all along?
7- when O!C was accused of being lord Sirius , R!C smiled devilishly again but he immediately got upset when they took his twin away?
I used to make memes about these mood swings. It wasn’t normal at all : /
The only thing he said and actually did was : not hurting him. He accused him of being lord Sirius but then sent his servants to free him..
Other than that…. I don’t know.
When I saw O!Cs outburst in ch147 , I thought R!C might’ve felt the same thing.. “how dare his brother stealing his name , how dare his brother burning and gutting him , how dare him pretending R!C didn’t exist…etc”
It’s not far fetched to say he is genuinely jealous and angry with his twin due to the past 3 years but as I said he can’t change his CR , so his little “revenge” and “siblings rivarly” was centered around staying by his side.
More reasons to why I think he should die :(
Ch149 showed a very happy R!C after remembering how his twin was in the same situation before. It’s still ambiguous why exactly he was happy but I can say he remembered how he took care of him and always stayed by his side even though he could play outside. On the Other hand he can’t go to his twin now due to his health but O!C is not willing to help him , in fact he decided to get ride of him.
There is no happiness left in this world for R!C :( his only salvation is either by dying or finding away to turn himself into inhumane creature.
During this entire scene, Real!Ciel was as though he was reading a paper he had prepared. However, when being asked that, he paused and met his reflection on the tea which parallels O!C's scene in ch108.
R!C was trying to figure why his brother did what he did, and came to the obvious conclusion that O!C was insecure about himself being an Earl since everybody thought he wouldn't fit in that role as he was the sickly spare. R!C is not wrong with his assumption, in fact that was the MAIN reason O!C decided to be him. However, look at his face;
That's not a face of someone who is "sure" about something. The long pause between his sentences too all indicates doubt or unpleasant feeling.
Even if O!C didn't intend to hurt anyone, R!C is still unhappy with the fact that his identity was stolen.
Just like the ring, he didn't care about why O!C stole it or the ring itself but the mere act of stealing it from him is what pissed him enough to leave that message on the wall.
"I won't cast any blame on him", "I won't be angry with you" - is always what R!C says. But nobody can deny how delighted he is whenever O!C struggles to open his mouth when being asked why he did what he did. He's drinking in his brother's inability to tell the reason, and why would that be if he didn't blame O!C? Like, "You can't tell us the reason, because you don't have one. Serves you right."
The lengths in which Real!Ciel went to regain his identity and birth rights back, should tell you how important that matter is to him. He literally kicked his brother out, framed him and made sure everybody in England knows he's a liar. Too much for "not casting any blame on him", eh?
We all know Real!Ciel would love to be the good big brother who forgives his brother's mistakes and protects him from those who does. But his actions speak otherwise.
O!C must've crossed the line this time.
