Summary:
From the moment Rey Kenobi pulls his name for the company holiday Secret Santa exchange, she can't wait to cook up the most diabolical, horrible gift. Poe Dameron has been her antagonist since Day One at Resistance Inc. and this could be the revenge her (somewhat petty) heart craves.
Little does she know that to his chagrin, Poe also drew HER name for Secret Santa.
Pressure mounts as the party draws closer, with Poe and Rey growing tentatively closer as they decide what to give each other. Will the warmth of Christmas generosity thaw their icy rivalry?

A Date With Professor Dameron
Damerey Creations Week 2021 Day 2: Soulmates AU
Rey stood outside the classroom and took a deep breath. She could do this. Absolutely. Today was just another regular Tuesday. A seven am workout at the campus gym, shower, and breakfast consisting of a banana, granola bar and thermos filled to the brim with instant coffee was her morning ritual. Nothing unusual about any of it. Why then was her heart beating out of her chest and her hands trembling?
Peering inside the classroom, Professor Dameron walked into view from the back of the room toward the lecture podium in front.
Right. That’s why.
She had not spoken to her Thermal Systems Design professor since their conversation in his office last week.
A conversation where she had told him they were soulmates.

DamereyCreations Week
Day 2 | Soulmates AU/Specialized Force Powers/Orange
“So, what you’re saying is that your power is cooler than mine? Who made you in charge of the cool meter?” Poe crossed his arms, looking affronted.
Rey rolled her eyes. “All I’m saying is that I can lift and bend sand, and your best friend is a fox.” Rey glanced down at said fox. “No offense, Bee.”
“Too late.” Poe lifted himself off of the bed with Bee in his arms. “We are both offended. Hugely. I don’t know how you will ever make it up to us.”
“How about with a kiss?”
“Hmm,” Poe pretended to consider, propping Bee up on his shoulder, “What do you think, Bee? Are we over our offense?” Bee looked at Poe, looked at Rey, and back again at Poe. He shook his head. “Bee says no. Nice try, Rey!” With that, Poe left the room, heading down the hallway.
“What?” Rey sputtered. “Why are you listening to him? He’s a fox!”
“We heard that!”

Fic: Feels Like Home (M)
Author's note: My contribution to Day 2 of Damerey Creations Week! I used orange for my prompt. Enjoy!
Summary: Rey brings Poe a present for his housewarming.
AO3
Feels Like Home
Rey stood outside Poe’s door for almost five minutes before she mustered the courage to knock. It was late, or rather, she was late. Poe invited everyone over to his new apartment for a housewarming party, but she’d gotten held up at work. She was in a Zoom meeting with a coworker who was halfway around the world; she couldn’t duck out early unnoticed. The party started hours ago. But it had taken her a long time to find this gift; she wanted to see his face when she presented it to him. The item in the bag rustled a little as she waited; on second thought, perhaps it was a good thing she was late. She didn’t hear anyone inside; everyone else had probably left. This way, if she’d wildly misjudged things, she could take the gift back and no one would ever know.
No one aside from Poe, which was embarrassing enough.
It was stupid, this crush she had on him. He was the oldest person in their friend group; the elder statesman Finn liked to call him. Poe took it in stride; he didn’t seem to mind being the butt of the joke occasionally. Rey liked him immediately, but the pair often found themselves bickering about trivial things much to their friends’ chagrin. Rey pretended like it annoyed her, but it was all an act to hide how much she liked him. He was almost a decade older than her; there was no way he’d like her like her. That was just silly.
After almost a full minute of silence, she knocked again. Was he already asleep? It was a Friday night, but that didn’t mean anything. Rey herself loved nothing better than to curl up in bed with a good book on a Friday night.
The bag tilted again; Rey frowned. “Guess he’s not gonna answer, buddy. That’s okay. You can stay with me for the night.” She’d just have to try again tomorrow.
She was a dozen steps away when the door opened. “Rey?”
She bit her lip and turned around. “Um, hi.”
“What are you doing here?”
Rey hoped he didn’t see how her fist clenched tighter on the bag, but she hadn’t been expecting him to answer the door in nothing but worn gray sweats. “Nothing, it can wait.”
His warm brown eyes drifted from her face to her hand. “That for me?”
“Well, you did invite me to your housewarming party. Sorry, I’m late.”
“Wasn’t much of a party in the end,” he conceded. “But come on in.”
“No, it’s okay. I can just come back tomorrow.” His curls were adorably rumpled, and he was shirtless. Nothing about this was helping.
The bag moved again; Poe arched a brow at her. “Rey, could you not be so stubborn for once? Please?”
She sighed. “Fine.” Poe stepped back so she could enter his place. It was open; the living room and the kitchen were practically the same space, but it didn’t feel cramped. The kitchen glittered with sleek black appliances; the couch looked plush and comfortable.
“I’ve got this whole floor to myself,” he said, suddenly closer than she expected. “Pretty nice, huh?”
“Yeah, it’s nice.” It was a little too sterile for her liking, but then again, Poe had only been there two weeks. She spotted a couple of boxes in the corner that still needed to be unpacked.
“Can I get you anything? I’m assuming you had another late meeting?”
Rey nodded. “Yeah. Project team in Naboo.”
Poe made a face. “Leia knows better than to send me to those things.”
“Diplomacy is definitely not your forte.”
Poe moved toward the refrigerator. “And just what are you implying, Sunshine?”
“You’re more of a shoot first, ask questions later sort of guy.” He held up a half empty bottle of white wine and she nodded. “Not that there’s anything wrong with that.”
He popped the cork and poured them both a glass. “Yet your tone would imply otherwise.”
Rey set her bag on one of the bar stools and took a sip of the wine. “Hmm, this is good.”
“Finn brought it. I’ve never been a wine guy.” Rey was about to comment when a distinct whine echoed from the bag. Poe frowned. “Rey…what’s in the bag?”
She bit her lip. “Um…your housewarming gift? If you hate it, I can…” Take it back? No, that seemed cruel. She could take it home with her, she supposed.
“What is it?” She reached into the bag and pulled out a small plastic carrier. Poe’s jaw dropped as he spotted what was inside it. “A cat?”
“A kitten. He’s from that litter we saw at the shelter a few weeks ago.” Their friend Rose ran the local shelter; as a group they volunteered when she had big events. Rey spotted Poe playing with the litter that day; he often mentioned how much he wanted a pet. She thought it would be a good match. Now she was starting to second guess herself.
Poe’s eyes lit up as he reached for the latch. The little orange tabby stuck his head out and sniffed Poe’s outstretched hand. “Hey buddy. Remember me?”
Rey took another sip of her wine to smother her grin as Poe coaxed the kitten out of the carrier. He scooped the tiny animal up and cradled him against his chest. “Rey, he’s so cute.”
“I know it was probably presumptuous of me and this is a new place, but…” She saw how good he was with the animals; he would give the little kitten a good home, she was certain of it.
Poe grinned. “Are you kidding? He’s perfect. Thank you.”
“You might not say that when he ruins your new couch.”
Poe chuckled. “You wouldn’t do that, would you?” he said to the kitten, his fingers idly stroking its fur. When the kitten nipped at his fingers, Poe sighed. “Okay, I might have to kitten proof this place, but it’s worth it.”
“Well, you won’t have to do all the work.” She asked Rose’s advice on acclimating a new kitten; her bag had all sorts of goodies. She laid out the other things she purchased, including dishes, a small bag of food, and a cat bed.
“Rey, you didn’t have to do all this.”
“I wanted to.” The cat perked up at the rustle of the food bag; together, Poe and Rey got the dishes laid out and filled with food and water. “Rose also has appointments set up for checkups and shots and everything.”
Poe stared at her. “Wow, you went all out. What’d I do to deserve that?”
She rolled her eyes. “Can’t you just accept it in the spirit it’s offered?”
“Well, yeah, but that’s less fun.”
She huffed. “Do you enjoy being difficult?”
“You’re the only one who seems to think I’m difficult, Sunshine.”
Rey stepped back and grabbed her glass, taking another healthy sip of wine. He was too close to her and looked too good. “That’s because I’m the only one you’re difficult with, Dameron.”
The kitten ignored them, padding off to explore his new home. “Ever asked yourself why that is?”
“I didn’t come here to play twenty questions with you.” They’d been having such a nice, sweet conversation; why’d he have to ruin it by being…Poe? He could never leave well enough alone; he insisted on probing thoughts and feelings she didn’t want to have. Not about him. It felt like he knew about her crush, and he was mocking her. And that hurt too much.
Poe watched as she downed the rest of her glass and started to go. “Rey, wait.”
She stopped in her tracks. “What do you want, Poe?”
Poe wasn’t sure about her, but he was just about done dancing around this tension between them. It had been building slowly ever since he met her; it was easy to ignore at first because he was seeing someone else at the time. He wasn’t now though. Rey just had this aura about her that drew people in. And he was not immune to her, not in the slightest. They were rarely alone together like this, mostly by design. He was less likely to put his foot in his mouth when they were among friends.
He moved around so he could face her. “Well, for starters, I was hoping you’d stay for a while.”
All sorts of alarms went off in her head. “Why would you want that?”
His tongue darted out to wet his lips; Rey swallowed. “Because I think we need to talk.”
“About what?”
“Us.”
Her heart started to trip in her chest. What he said sounded insane. “Poe, there is no us. We’re…”
“Friends, I know. But what if…there was an us?”
He sounded so earnest, but she just couldn’t believe it. “I always knew you were mischievous, but I never thought you could be cruel.” She pushed past him and practically ran for the door.
Poe growled in frustration. “Sunshine, wait…don’t leave.”
Her hand was on the door; angry tears stung her eyelids. “Why are you doing this?”
He moved behind her and carefully rested his hand on top of hers. His palm was warm and a little rough; she sucked in a shallow breath. “There are probably a hundred reasons why I shouldn’t feel like this, but I do. And I have for a while.”
“Feel like what?”
“The world stops when you enter the room.” Suddenly, his voice was unsteady, and his hand tightened on hers. “The party you missed? It was miserable because you weren’t there. Everyone got tired of my surliness and left right after dinner. I was feeling pretty sorry for myself until I saw you standing in the hallway.”
“You’ve never felt sorry for yourself.”
“You didn’t have to listen to Finn’s little lecture before he left.” Finn figured out how Poe felt about Rey long before Poe did himself. He told him to either do something about it or get over it. Poe certainly did not want to do the latter.
“What exactly are you saying?”
Poe took a chance and rested his free hand on her hip. When she didn’t push him away, he spoke. “I don’t want us to be friends anymore. I want a lot more than that.”
“You do?”
“But if you don’t, I’d understand. I’ll just…” He never got to finish because Rey abruptly turned and fused her lips to his. He grunted in surprise, but quickly recovered and kissed her back. Her lips were warm and pliant; he groaned as she wrapped herself around him. “Sooo, I take it you agree?” he asked between kisses.
“Shut up and kiss me, Dameron.”
“Yes, ma’am.” He pressed her against the door, his mouth never leaving hers. He imagined kissing her like this for months; reality was better. She grabbed his hair and tilted his head; he groaned as her tongue slid over the seam of his lips. “Sunshine…”
“Shhh.” She slid her hands over his bare chest; she flashed him a shy happy smile before her lips descended to his throat. Poe hummed in pleasure as she kissed and sucked at his skin; his awareness zeroed in on her.
“Maybe…we should…couch?” he mumbled as she licked the hollow of his throat.
“Good idea.” Rey soaked in the giddy feeling that settled in her chest as he took her hand and led her to his new couch. Poe pulled her into his lap; she mewled as he kissed her again. He was so warm; all that bare skin under her fingertips was driving her crazy. But Poe seemed to be in no hurry, teasing her with long languid kisses as his hands explored her clothed body. Her back started to hurt from twisting to kiss him, so she broke the kiss long enough to straddle his thighs. The pencil skirt she wore to the office rode up her legs, exposing more of her skin. She saw Poe’s dark eyes drift over her body; she shivered at the desire that burned there. “Poe?”
“Are you sure this isn’t some wine induced fever dream?” he asked, his voice husky and rough.
“You didn’t even finish the glass,” she reminded him, brushing kisses to his forehead and cheeks. She trailed her lips along the sharp line of his jaw until she got to his ear. “You said you wanted to be more than friends, right?” Poe nodded. “Me too. And I’d really like you to touch me.”
“Where?”
A shudder rolled down her spine. “Everywhere.” She leaned in and kissed him hard while her fingers plucked at the buttons of her blouse. She was too hot, and she needed his hands on her skin. Poe groaned as she peeled the material away and tossed it aside. Then she reached behind her and flicked open her bra and tossed that too. “Now we’re even.”
Poe simply stared at her. He’d seen her in a bathing suit one time, but he never considered he’d get her in his lap, stripping off her clothes. He stared for so long that she got a little self-conscious and started to cover herself. “Hey, I wanna see you.”
Her cheeks were hot, but she nodded and lowered her arms. Poe’s fingertips trailed up her belly and deftly circled the curves of her breasts. Goosebumps rose on her skin; her nipples tightened as he traced her areola. Poe leaned in and pressed his lips to her skin, right over her heart, then kept going, kissing every inch of her he could reach. It was a slow sensual assault on her body, and she loved every second of it. By the time he sucked one of her nipples into his mouth she was drowning in want, the ache between her thighs sharp and acute. “Oh my god.”
“Is this okay?”
She nodded hard. “Please don’t stop.” She guided his hand under her skirt; a moan caught in her throat when he touched her damp underwear. “Oh, oh, oh god.”
He rubbed her through the fabric, which was completely soaked. “You have no idea how badly I want you right now.”
She rolled her hips wantonly against him, eager for friction. “Oh, I think I do.”
Poe’s cock twitched in his sweats. “Sweetheart, we shouldn’t…” She leaned in and nipped at her earlobe; his cock throbbed in response. “Rey…”
“Please,” she whined. She was so hot, so slick; this was everything she thought she could never have. “Please.”
“I was gonna…take you to dinner…first,” he breathed, dropping down and sucking and licking at her nipples again. She arched into him, clearly just as desperate as he was for this.
Her laugh was breathless and hollow. “A first date?” She tugged his lips back to hers and kissed him deeply. “I don’t need to be wined and dined, Poe,” she promised. “But I do need to feel you inside me. Right now.”
Poe cursed as the last of his reservations evaporated. “Condoms are in my…”
“What part of right now was unclear?”
“Rey…what…”
She pointed at her arm; Poe’s eyes widened at the scar there. “I trust you.”
“Fucking hell.” He gave her ass a rough squeeze. “Strip. Now.”
Rey immediately stood and unzipped her skirt. She quickly peeled off the offending garment and her ruined panties; then she kicked off her heels. Poe yanked her between his splayed thighs and pressed rough needy kisses to her flat stomach before flipping her onto her back. She let out a breathless giggle as he stood to follow suit, peeling down his sweats and kicking them aside. She got her first good look at him, and her core clenched in anticipation. He was big, bigger than she imagined, and she needed him so badly.
Poe watched her eyeing his cock; he smirked. “See something you want?”
She nodded, biting her lip. “Mmhmm.”
He moved toward the end of the couch; Rey spread her legs. “You still want this?”
“Yes. So much. Please.” Poe nodded and bent over her, brushing more kisses to her belly. He moved higher and higher, his lips rarely leaving her skin until he hovered over her with their hips almost perfectly aligned. He couldn’t resist her kiss swollen lips; he used them to distract her while he pushed slowly inside her sheath. Rey arched and clutched at his shoulders as her body stretched to accommodate him. “Oh shit.”
She was hot and tight and killing him, but he paused. “Too much?”
“Don’t you dare stop.” She pushed her hips up, forcing those last couple of inches inside her. They both moaned when he was fully seated; Rey forced herself to take steady breaths. Poe had been right earlier; this did feel a bit like a dream. But she never wanted to wake up from it. Once she adjusted, she sucked on his lower lip. “Move.”
He did so, taking her with shallow thrusts. She felt incredible; he wanted to savor every moment of this. They made out languidly, neither in any hurry for this to end. Poe sucked marks into her neck and collar; she raked her nails down his back. Poe felt his orgasm coiling at the base of his spine, but he wasn’t coming without her. Rey whined when he pulled out of her and lifted her onto her knees. “Please tell me you’re staying tonight,” Poe murmured, as he twisted her to bend over the back of his couch.
She nodded hard. “Yes, yes, I’ll stay.” Now that they’d crossed this line, she didn’t want to be anywhere else.
“Good.” He eased her knees wider apart and sank back inside her. Rey gripped the back of the couch hard and swore as he filled her. Granted, it had been a little while since she last had sex, but no one had ever filled her like this. His strokes were harder, rougher, and she needed it.
“Poe, more, harder, please!” she whined.
He obeyed her, gripping her hips with almost bruising force as he rode her against the couch. He felt her start to flutter around him; she let out a long wail when he found her most sensitive spot. Then it was all she could do to hang onto the couch as Poe drew that first orgasm from her body. It was sharp and hot and perfect with pleasure searing her veins. He followed her a handful of thrusts later, pulsing and throbbing inside her clenching heat.
Poe leaned against her back, struggling to breathe and flying high on endorphins. Rey let out a little whine; he belatedly realized he was crushing her. “Sorry, sorry,” he mumbled. He used the last bit of his strength to settle them flat on the couch; Rey sprawled across his chest. “Better?”
“Mmhmm.” She wasn’t capable of much more than that; she was thoroughly relaxed and at peace for the first time in months. Poe stroked his fingers along her spine as their breathing slowly returned to normal.
“Still with me?”
“Yeah.” She winced; her voice was a little hoarse.
Poe grinned. “Not bad for the first time, eh?”
She rolled her eyes. “I should have known you’d be smug.”
“Hey, I wanted dinner first, but you were kinda insistent, Sunshine.”
“You can take me to dinner tomorrow.”
“Maybe we should order in. I don’t want to leave the bed.”
She giggled. “We’re not in bed yet.”
“As soon as I can stand, we’ll remedy that.”
She brushed her lips to his chest. She needed to get cleaned up, but she didn’t want to leave him. Part of her was still afraid this was all in her head. “Any regrets?”
He combed his fingers through her long chestnut locks. “Only that I didn’t kiss you sooner. You?”
She shook her head. “Nope.”
“Glad we’re on the same page.” This would certainly be an adjustment, but he was all in. He wanted to be with her. He glanced down at the floor, contemplating the walk to his bedroom, and he spotted something that made him laugh out loud.
“What?”
“It seems my new friend found a place to sleep.”
Rey twisted around to see what Poe was looking at. The kitten had curled up in Rey’s discarded clothes; he was fast asleep. “Oh.”
“You can borrow something from me,” Poe assured her, kissing the crown of her head. “I don’t want to wake him, do you?”
The cat did look very cute in his makeshift bed. “What are you going to name him?”
“I don’t know. What do you think?”
“He’s your cat.”
“Yeah, but you picked him out. And unless I’m mistaken, you’re probably going to be here a lot from now on.”
She flushed. “Okay.” She thought for a moment. “What about Beebee?”
“Like a BB gun?”
She shrugged. “I guess? I mean, he does kind of bounce around if memory serves.”
Poe looked down at the orange tabby. He already loved him; the little kitten made the condo feel homey. “I like it.”
“Congratulations, Poe. You just adopted a pet.”
“I got a lot more than that.” He leaned up and kissed her sweetly. She melted into him and deepened the kiss. Poe wrapped his arms around her. “I think it’s time for bed, Sunshine.”
“Hmm, yes, please.” This wasn’t at all how she expected the evening to go, but she wasn’t complaining. Not when the future seemed so bright. She yelped when Poe scooped her up and carried her toward his bedroom; this was only the beginning.
