i think one of the most important things new listeners to wtnv especially people who are newly fixated or want to learn more is that ALL major characters in nv (even some one-segment mentioned one time guys too man. hey ) are very complex and not 100% good people. a great majority of them spend their time developing and learning from their actions and growing as people. they make mistakes and conflict with their personalities and they hurt people and struggle with themselves. YOU CANNOT go into the show expecting main “ protagonists “ all of the time because wtnv is a show about people— and really real people at that. that one hiram quote i think that’s like beautiful people are beautiful when they do beautiful things yada yada.

there’s something going on with how abby’s mom always said abby smoked and that it was a bad habit when she herself was an alcoholic. like something about how she assigned traits she had to abby and abby had to take up her roles while their mom mourned cecil, and maybe that’s part of the resentment. cecil didn’t have a role to their mom, he was already gone in her mind like their father.
