In contrast, a person with a fixed mindset sets boundaries and self-imposed restrictions because they are scared of being judged or showing their weakness. A person with a fixed mindset fears failure and sees failure as proof of their own shortcomings. They see intelligence and ability as unchanging. This kind of thinking inhibits development and progress. By embracing the values of hard work, education, and perseverance, one can consciously choose to develop a growth mindset.
