Was at NAIA terminal 2 earlier to fetch my niece. She flew in from Cebu with a connecting flight to Abu Dhabi and then finally to Geneva. This is her first international flight and she’s going to Switzerland for work, at least for a year. I knew she was nervous and sad but she still pushed through regardless. Got to admire her guts. I’m praying she’ll always be safe and that she finds her passion and build a successful career.

On that note, nothing and no one is stopping me in searching for my promised land except my terrible excuses: I’m not good in conversational English, my technical skills still have to be improved, I don’t have enough money, etc. etc. And my niece who is only around 24 found the courage to go out of her comfort zone so she could help her family and achieve her dreams. How pathetic am I? I allow myself to wallow in my misery instead of doing something about it. I’m allowing fear to paralyze me. How do I dare myself to move?

A couple of days I ago, I woke up with a start. Why? I heard my Lead’s voice in my sleep. After spending half the night fixing issues, I decided to retire at 4 am, way past my bedtime of 1 am. I was sleeping peacefully, when all of a sudden, I heard my lead asking me, “Hey DoAnne, are you ready?” I was so surprised, literally sat up and said, “Oh my God, may meeting ba ko?! (Do i have a meeting?!)” And then I realized it wasn’t real.
