I mean, I came to the conclusion that it must have something to do with capitalism lmao, perhaps fabrics aren't the same as they were then (example: jeans now are much more fast-fashion-y, with elastics and cheaper, and not that rigid, long lasting fabric they used to be), but then there's hair cuts and makeup, and still, they all seem to hang too much on the idea of what the 70s are instead of actual historically accurate receipts of trends at the time (WHICH IS FINE, I get that not everyone is a fashion/history nerd)
