Call For Submissions! | Mercer County Artists 2024
Mercer County Artists 2024 is a juried exhibition open to visual artists ages 18 or older who live, work, or attend school in Mercer County, NJ.
Awards include the Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Commission Purchase Award, winners of which become part of the County’s permanent art collection.
Accepting applications from 4/1/24-4/30/24
Application Requirements
Please submit JPEG files and prepare your images according to the CaFÉ guidelines.
Eligibility Criteria
Up to three (3) original works in any media, except photography, may be entered. $15 for the first piece, $5 additional for a 2nd, and $5 for the 3rd
Submissions deadline April 30th
• 2-Dimensional works may not exceed 50 inches in any direction. Work should be framed as needed and must include a securely attached wire for hanging. Photography is not permitted in this exhibition
• 3-Dimensional works (sculpture, ceramics, glass, etc.) may not exceed 60 inches in any direction or 75 pounds in weight.
Works must have been executed in the two years since May 2022. Works that have previously been exhibited at the MCCC Gallery are not eligible.

Photography Assistant Positions Available!
Laing Photography is seeking Photography Assistants who are friendly, dependable, assertive, and love working with people. These individuals will be quality members of the Laing Photography team, primarily assisting with wedding day tasks.
Job Details
• Attend 4-6 weddings per month with Lead Photographer, primarily during wedding season (May-November)
• Assist with arranging large groups of people for photos
• Communicate photography timeline effectively to wedding party
• Gather multiple wedding guests for photos as designed by brides and grooms
Candidate Attributes
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic
• The ability to multitask and manage time effectively
• Flexible work availability/schedule
• No prior photography experience is required
• Reliable means of transportation is required
Pay
• $25.00/hour
Shift and Schedule
• 3-5 hours per wedding
• 1-2 weddings per weekend
• 4-6 weddings per month, varies
Location
• Various wedding venues in New Jersey and Pennsylvania (Philadelphia and surrounding areas)

Positions Open at The Painters Loft!
The Painters Loft is a walk in ceramics and art studio seeking individuals that are enthusiastic, highly motivated and creative to join their team!
Positions include: Retail Pottery Studio Help and Pottery Wheel & Ceramics Studio Help.
Retail Pottery Studio Help
Applicant must have some basic art skills. Must be sociable and enjoy being around both adults and kids. You will be required to help customers create their artwork during open studio hours and for private events.
We are a walk in ceramics and art studio. Customers will come in and do any project we offer from fused glass, canvas painting, mosaic art, candle making, nail art, clay building and wood board art. We have birthday parties and team building event for both adults and children you will have to lead. (Tips are in addition too your base pay)
Duties will include helping customers, working parties, stocking shelves and cleaning. You will also be required to stock shelves and put away shipments. Must be able to lift at least 25lbs to move boxes when needed.
Some weeknights and weekends hours are a must. You will be required to open and or close on certain days.
We are currently looking for Sundays and some weekday hours.

Pottery Wheel & Ceramics Studio Help
We are looking for an individual that is enthusiastic, highly motivated and creative. You must be proficient on the pottery wheel and in hand building. Must be sociable and enjoy being around both adults and kids. Duties including helping students and members, working parties and keeping the studio clean, organized and stocked. You will be required to reclaim and pug clay using our pug mill. Must be able to lift at least 25lbs to move boxes when needed.
Weekday and weekend hours available.
$12 per hour. Tips are in addition to your base pay.

ART LEAGUE RI Call for Entry: Photography
ART LEAGUE RI's upcoming exhibition PAUSE is having an open call for photographic images representing deliberateness.
Artists are encouraged to thoughtfully select works from their personal archives and portfolios that best showcase the fulfillment of their craft.

Art That Tracks: Visual Artists Explore Trains & Locomotives | A Juried Art Exhibit
Call for Artists!
Trains and Train Travel evoke a myriad of ideas and emotions based on the person. For some, they can instill a sense of nostalgia for days gone by. They can be a symbol of romance, luxury, strength and fortitude of the human spirit. For others, they can be a physical representation of separation, segregation, the seemingly never-ending encroachment of urban sprawl & the unbalanced distribution of wealth.
As an artist, what is your point of view when it comes to Trains and/or Train Travel?
Artists are invited to submit up to three (3) images based on the theme (Trains) All mediums are welcome. Exhibit is limited to approximately 40 pieces. Submissions will be juried by a peer panel. Evaluations will be based on composition, impact, creativity, technical execution and consistency with the theme.
This exhibit is presented in conjunction with the Woodbridge-Avenel-Rahway NJT Art Express

Exhibition Opportunity at High Point University's Sechrest Art Gallery
High Point University's Sechrest Art Gallery (High Point, NC) is inviting artists to submit artwork for consideration in their annual international exhibition. The gallery welcomes submissions that cross traditional boundaries of context and embrace diverse media.

The Philadelphia Open Studio Tours are re-starting!
(POST) is the largest, self-guided, free-to-attend tour of artist studios and creative workspaces in the region, and one of the premier open studio tour events in the country, crossing into over 26 neighborhoods throughout the city for two weekends each October.
All artists in the city of Philadelphia are invited to be involved. POST falls on the weekends of October 14/15, 21/22 this year, with all studios and creative spaces open noon-6pm all 4 days. visit https://www.cfeva.org/philaopenstudios to learn more.
The CFEVA are currently seeking volunteers for POST! Volunteers can expect to connect directly with artists working in Philadelphia, meet them in their own private studios during the event, help to photograph & capture the energy of the annual open studios experience.
