“Good. Good. I’m glad,” he nodded, happy to know that Taylor was recovered from their night of fun. “Kota joined me and had about one hundred very loud questions but i managed to dodge most of them, I think,” he chuckled softly, pulling the tupperware from his back. “Banana muffins. Banana is supposed to very good for hangovers, so I had quite a lot of these yesterday. Saved a few for you of course,” he smiled, giving her the box. Auden paused for a moment, working out what he was going to say. “Can we talk about what happened?” He finally asked. “We don’t have to do it at school, or even today. I just… want to talk about it with you.”
“why were you dodging them?” she asked, tilting her head to the side as she looked at him. “so when you were feeling like shit you still managed to have time to bake? do you have superpowers or something?” she asked, a small laugh leaving her lips. “i appreciate the gesture, you didn’t have to.” taylor admitted, reaching for the box and taking one out. “i wasn’t sure you wanted to.” she replied, placing the muffin and container on the table. “yeah - talking would be good, i don’t want it to be weird.”

“The cat, the dog, my uncle Joe.” Bailey commented, pushing her sunglasses up onto her head and grimacing at the light. “We’re feeling fragile and you know damn well that I’m feeling fragile.” Bailey told the other, trying to scowl at the other as best as she could. “Merlin, yes, please.” Bailey agreed. “Can it be something greasy or something cheesy. Or both. I just need good hangover food.”
“god i hope your uncle never dragged you in, i imagine the carpet burn would hurt.” she teased, a small laugh leaving her lips. “do i? yes i suppose that might be something i know.” taylor admitted, tapping a finger against her chin. “cheese covered fries? do you think that’ll work for you?” the brunette questioned.

“It’s okay, I know you’ll make it up to me,” she teased lightly. “A quiet day in? Since when do I ever do that?” Lila laughed, “But sure. Why not change it up on this beautiful Saturday morning,” she shrugged. “Wow,” Delilah exclaimed. We really need to get your booze tolerance up if you’re this bad after a few glasses of wine. Maybe give you a few days to cool off but next weekend is reserved for a bar crawl, cool? Cool,” she confirmed to herself before waiting for Taylor’s response. “Fine,” she groaned at a slightly lower volume than before. “Hangovers are a bitch so I get it. I’ll be good,” she smirked. “You need to realise just how much I love you Taylor. You won’t be getting rid of me from your life any time soon, even if you get drunk without me.”
“it seems i’ll be making a lot up to you, sounds exhausting wouldn’t you agree?” the brunette teased. “never, but you’ll do anything for me.” taylor replied, shrugging. “that sounds great actually - i would happily have my ass dragged around by you.” she agreed, nodding. “i didn’t think you’d want to mark papers with me if i’m being honest - besides i’m sure you found someone else to bother.” she suggested. “so what did you end up doing after i left the festival?” she questioned, looking up at the other with a small smile. “we should probably discuss what we’re ordering for lunch as well.”

“That’s very true, I expect nothing less than to be schooled by you, future Professor Edwards,” Auden smiled. “You did?” he asked. “That’s such a sophisticated dream for someone so young. But then again I also thought about that, so maybe we’re more alike than I thought.” Auden did worry that he wasn’t wild enough for Taylor. He never wanted to hold her back just because he wasn’t as adventurous as her. “It really does. I always instantly trust someone when I see they’ve got a good collection of books– I don’t know what that says about me, though.” He was too trusting sometimes, even though through the years Auden had learnt that he really shouldn’t be. “I’ll suggest for her to talk to you,” he nodded. “Why shouldn’t she? You’re great.” “Oh a Cyrus class would be great. Do you want to take bets on how long it would take for him to recognise us?” Auden shook his head, “You’re not peer pressuring me. I promise. I really want to be here with you Taylor,” he smiled, reaching for her hand and squeezing it gently to show that he was being serious about it. “Are you sure?” he asked, taking another swig of the bottle just to cringe as much as he did the first time. “You’re lying to me, aren’t you?” he began to laugh, but they just didn’t stop coming. Auden shuffled up closer to Taylor and leant his head against her shoulder, realising too late that he’d gotten blue paint on his cheek and shirt. He didn’t really care though, enjoying the peace and other feelings in the atmosphere surrounding their bubble.
“honestly with that description i’m scared to take you to any disney parks, they might confuse you with belle.” she teased, nudging him with her elbow. “don’t worry i’m sure you’ll find your beast soon enough to save.” she reassured him, nodding her head. “probably quite easily - i’ve annoyed that man enough that i’m sure he looks over his head every time he walks down a new corridor for me.” the brunette snickered at the thought. “no his good quality - i really like him.” she admitted, shrugging her shoulders. when he reached for her hand she froze, glancing down at the simple gesture. “i would never lie to you.” taylor responded, feigning pain. “i don’t know why you’d suggest such a terrible thought.” she teased, sticking her tongue out at the other. “you know sometimes you remind me of a reincarnation of a puppy dog - maybe less drool.” she admitted, leaning her head on top of his. “you know this is what being a young adult is supposed to be like - if all my weekends are like this i think i could be really happy.”

Auden had been meaning to talk to Taylor the whole weekend. He’d even scripted exactly what he was going to say, but the minute he actually saw her it all escaped his head. “Taylor, hi,” he said, a nervous energy surrounding his words. “I’m feeling a lot more fresh today, thank you. Two days in bed seemed to do the trick,” he chuckled. “How about you? How are you feeling?”
the brunette blinked at the others reaction to seeing her, a sinking feeling starting in her stomach. “yeah - i’m okay, copious amounts of water seemed to do the job.” she replied, half shrugging at the thought. “i’m glad the extended period on your back did the job - if you’ve got no responsibilities, hiding in bed all day sounds like the dream lifestyle.” she teased, a small laugh escaping taylor’s lips. “what do you have for snacks today?”

“So I freaked out for nothing, good to know.” Lorcan grumbled to himself, letting out a sigh as he felt his heart rate start to slow down to know the other wasn’t here because she was hurt or ill. “I’m always keen, I haven’t had a break in a long time too so you’ve probably saved my patients from having to hear my stomach rumble loudly.”
“i don’t want to call you a drama queen but if we’re looking for possible candidates i’m happy to say you win by a landslide.” the brunette teased, smiling brightly at the other. “sounds good - want to grab your jacket? it’s a bit chilly outside.” taylor admitted. “thinking a picnic in the park - thoughts?”

pushing the hair back off her face she leaned back against the seat, a soft hum escaping her lips as she read a book. taylor had been quite distracted since halloween - she hadn’t had a chance to talk to auden about their drunken shenanigans but she hoped she’d run into him at some point today. placing a grape in her mouth she chewed away before flipping her page. hearing someone enter the room she glanced up, a soft smile on her lips. “hey stranger - how are you?”

“Oh,” Lila replied, a slight frown upon her face as she realised that was probably what she was doing. “Well okay– yeah, that would be an excuse,” she shrugged. “What do you mean you can’t do this today?” she asked, noticing the other hold her head. “Wait– are you hungover? Oh you so are,” she insinuated, a smirk on her face. “It’s Saturday so there’s no training, and my teacher friends are usually free so I thought it was a safe bet,” she explained. “I do have a life, I just wanted to spend some time with you since i didn’t get to last night. Is that so bad?”
“i’m sorry.” taylor admitted, matching the emotion on the others face. “you know i hate disappointing you, really.” a soft sigh escaped her lips. “how about we just have a quiet day in?” she suggested, trying to compromise with the other. “just a little - must of had one too many wines whilst marking.” she chuckled softly at the thought. “i’m free but we need to dial our tones down a few decibels and then i’ll be a happy gal.” she joked, gesturing for the other to join her on the couch. “it’s not terrible - but you’re reasoning is understandable perhaps i was too harsh.”

“So I knocked at your door earlier to take you away from marking and no one was in,” Lila told the other as soon as her door opened. “So either you were in such a deep sleep that you didn’t hear me, which feels fake, or you were lying to me about what you were up to.” She stepped inside Taylor’s apartment and took a seat on the sofa, crossing her legs. “Care to enlighten me?”

“oh really?” taylor admitted, blinking at the blonde for a moment. “i must of just missed you - i went out for breakfast this morning with some of the other trainee teachers.” she lied, frowning softly at the other. “lila i can’t really do this today.” she admitted, placing a hand to the side of her head. “but also - why are you here so early?” taylor chuckled softly as she moved to sit next to the blonde on the couch. “don’t you have a life or does it funnily enough revolve around your favourite brunette?” she joked, shoving the other gently.

“Look at you teaching me things even when we’re not on the clock,” he chuckled. “This suit came from my closet, so I guess I’m going it without even thinking about it, which is good I guess?” he responded. “You’ve nailed it on the head there. I thought I was going to keep my Pinterest account private but you’ve found it out, damnit,” he slapped his leg in defeat. “It’s mostly old home libraries. When I own my own home one day I want to renovate one of the rooms and turn it into a huge library with oak shelves that slide and have my own hidden reading nook, a coffee bar and–… and I’ll stop now,” he nodded awkwardly realising he’d maybe gone on a little bit too long. “I’m not sure she would. You two should talk more though, I’m sure she’d be open to getting to know you,” Auden suggested. It would bode well for him too, if the two people in his life he cared most for got along. “I do still feel like one of the students sometimes. I think it could be funny to try and blend in for a day, sit in the back of classes of the professors we don’t really know and participate in lessons,” he suggested. Auden had already been mistaken for a student, so it wasn’t a far shot. “It’s not too much, not at all.” Auden could tell he was now being affected by the alcohol in his system, his words came across more confident and he felt he could talk for hours. “Psh, I can be relaxed sometimes,” he exclaimed. At Taylor’s words, Aud frowned. “What? Why do you feel bad? Don’t feel bad,” he tried to reassure her. “I want to be here, okay? In this tiny closet with you,” Auden nodded with a genuine smile on his face. He took the bottle of vodka from her and took a couple of gulps, though it didn’t go down half as well as the wine did and his whole face cringed as he swallowed the liquor. “No turning back now.”
“if i can’t school you at something i’m clearly not doing a very good job.” the brunette teased. “you’re right it’s great - proud of you.” she nodded approvingly at the other. “i think it’s a cool dream - when i was growing up i always wished i’d have a library like belle had in beauty and the beast.” she admitted, shrugging at the thought. “i think having access too all types of literature in your own home says a lot about a person.” taylor admitted. “i’ll add it to my to do list, it’s all about making an effort with people right? but i suppose the same could be said for her - a road does go both ways you know?” she replied. “i definitely would love to crash one of cyrus’ classes, see how long it would take him to realise he had a wolf in sheeps clothing in his class.” taylor added, tapping her finger against her chin as she conducted a plan. “i just have guilt for peer pressuring you into a situation, but if you say you’re okay i’ll leave it at that.” she admitted, watching his reaction to the vodka made her laugh. “you poor soul, i promise it gets easier and the burn disappears.” she told him honestly, scrunching her nose up as a wide smile spread across her lips. taylor didn’t drink often anymore but when she did her whole body seemed to relax and melt like butter - if she had to describe how she was feeling now that would be an easy answer, she was smooth and pliable.

“Oh–… I really had no idea about that,” Auden admitted. “Probably a good thing I haven’t bought new clothes in… well, a really long time that I can’t actually remember,” he smiled. “It’s not silly. You can fantasise about these sorts of things. I know I do sometimes,” Auden shrugged. “Honestly I have no idea how she let me go. I feel like I’m going to have to make it up to her so if you don’t see me for the next week, assume she’s kidnapped me and forced me to spend time with her,” he chuckled. “I agree. We’re still in training but when we’re actually fully fledged professors, then I think it might kick in that we’re actual adults, responsible for all these kids,” he mused. “But for now, why not be a bit silly? Might as well make use of this time we’ve got now before any proper responsibilities fall our way,” he said, taking the bottle from Taylor and taking several large glugs in, squeezing his eyes shut as it travelled down his throat. “Of course I’ll have you, Taylor,” Auden replied, looking to the other. “I think I might. I actually am kind of relaxed when I’m not here– I know, unbelievable right?” He tipped his head back and finished off the bottle, placing it down slightly too hard on the concrete floor causing a loud sound to emanate, startling him a little bit. “One bottle down,” Auden said quirking a brow.
“yeah i watched this documentary on it, it was kind of interesting.” the brunette chuckled softly at the thought. “i mean it’s still okay to buy clothes but rather than throwing them out we can recycle them through donation or even reusing them in costumes and such.” she admitted, not wanting the other to feel guilty. “and what exactly do you fantasise about? don’t tell me you’re one of those boys who have a pinterest board mapping out their lives? i mean those boys are kind of like unicorns so i’ll be keeping that to myself if thats the case.” she teased, grinning at the brunette. “if you go missing by her hands i think it’s best if i don’t get involved - i’m sure she wouldn’t like that if i’m being honest.” she replied, scrunching her nose at the thought. “it’s terrifying isn’t it? we’re just barely adults a few years ago we were the kids and now we’re going to be in charge of them? i don’t know if i can wrap my head around it.” she admitted, watching as he gulped down the last few mouthfuls of wine. “you’re doing really well - but if its too much we can slow down.” she flinched at the sound that was emitted from the glass hitting the floor. “i don’t know if you and relaxed are able to go in the same sentence - you’re not fooling anyone.” she teased, nudging him gently. “i feel bad for making you drink with me, and i never thought that would be something i admitted aloud.” she shot him a sincere look before opening a bottle of vodka and taking two large mouthfuls. “no turning back now i suppose.”

“Fast fashion? Like fast food… but for fashion?” Auden asked. He really wasn’t very in tune with the muggle world. “You’d look great in whatever style of dress you choose, Taylor,” he commented. “But yes, absolutely go for something you like the most. It’s your day after all. And I’m sure your future partner will love it regardless,” he added. “That’s where we’re different. I spent far too much time in the library when I was here,” Auden admitted. “I’m pretty sure it was to avoid my roommates, or maybe to avoid Kota. I can’t quite remember,” he chuckled. “I guess there really is no fun in that, you’re right.” It took awhile for the taste to hit, but soon Auden was scrunching his nose up at the taste, though he did try to play it off. “It was… fine,” he said. “Tastes better than i remember it to, actually. I used to completely hate red wine. It’s way more sophisticated though, you’re right. Proper adults over here,” he chuckled. “Yeah, we’ll ignore that aspect of it all. It certainly feels rebellious. I had to tell so many lies to get here,” he told the other. Auden wasn’t sure if any of them had seen through them, but he didn’t really care at this point. He was happy to be here. “Takeaway and drinking with you? Wow, what a luxury,” he grinned softly, taking back the bottle and drinking another large gulp. “We should spend more time with each other outside of work though,” he shrugged as if it was an off the cuff thought.
“kind of but you know how fast food is bad for humans? fast fashion is bad for the environment, it leads to a shit tonne of land waste and everything.” the brunette admitted, smiling gently at the other. “i suppose it seems quite silly talking about something thats so far away.” she chucked softly, feeling rather stupid in that moment. “i promise not to dob you in to your sister, but speaking of that little chaotic ball of energy - i’m surprised you weren’t hand cuffed to her, how’d she let you escape?” taylor questioned, raising the bottle to her lips again as she took a swig. “adults with an apostrophe because lets be real - we’re far from being mature adults, we’re still in our twenties let us act out and be silly from time to time.” she suggested, leaning her head back against the wall as a soft sigh escaped her lips. “i’d like to think any time spent with me is a luxury - but i’d really like to take on that adventure with you if you’d have me.” taylor admitted sheepishly. “i’d like that a lot actually - i think you’d find i’m even more fun to be around outside of the castle walls, no chains holding me down and all that jazz.”

“You know if you wanted a Jack you should have just said, Captain America was totally a last minute decision on my part because I had zero ideas and honestly, it feels a little bit like a cop out.” Lorcan explained to the other, “But I think carving your own Jack seems fitting, given he’s the pumpkin king after all.” Lorcan continued. “Is it bad that I go with something basic, pumpkin carving in the past hasn’t really been my specialty, so I think simple won’t end in something catastrophic.”
“yes well i’ll consider that next time lorcan.” taylor admitted, smiling at the blonde. “captain america was pretty great though - the blonde hair was an easy save as well.” she replied. “well only the pumpkin king could save this halloween eve wouldn’t you say?” the brunette suggested, wiggling her eyebrows. “i think playing it safe is smart, but if you’re willing to be adventurous you’d be surprised at what you’re capable of doing.”

“I’m sorry, what.” Bailey spoke, having been stopped in her tracks by the others words, turning to face her with wide eyes. “I was about to say, you saw a fucking body hanging in a tree and just merrily strode straight passed it to come and tell me.” Bailey commented, feeling her heart race for a moment as the thoughts of the last event spent in Hogsmede came racing back to her. “So it was someone’s crappy art project, got it. Way better than an actual body hanging from a tree.” Bailey hummed, “I’d say it’s in poor taste, but I think everything about Halloween has the hint of poor taste so I guess it fits right in.”
“of course not i’m not a bloody monster bailey.” the brunette chuckled softly. “i definitely would be calling the authorities if i believed an actual dead body was chilling from the tree.” she replied, shaking her head at the thought. “i think people are just looking for the fright factor during halloween, they would do anything to win a bloody scare contest - i think they’d be more competitive then the bloody monsters from that monster movie.” taylor suggested, grinning widely at the other.

“Somehow I just know you’re right. How can I be sure you haven’t gotten to them already?” Cyrus chuckled back. “Well aren’t you a charmer?” he shook his head with another laugh at Taylor’s comment about the students. “I technically haven’t signed anything yet, but knowing you I could’ve totally agreed to a blood oath or something in my sleep,” he joked. “Pretty rough. But at the same time it feels like this was always meant to be my destiny,” Cyrus added playfully.
“you’re right you have no idea i’m a woman of mystery.” she teased, a wide grin on her lips. “i do try my hardest cyrus, why do you think i’m one of the favourites - theres nothing like brutal honesty to make the students idolise you.” she rolled her eyes at the sentiment. “thats an interesting idea - i might mark that down for my next deal, might even get the devil on speed dial and really make this thing a huge soul destroying exchange.” taylor admitted. “ohhh, destiny - i hear thats what all the great poets talk about, how ones destiny is decided when their born and no matter how hard they try they can’t escape it for better or worse.”
