I have covid for the 4th time (I take care of people who are positive and don't understand they can't snap my mask off. It happens.) My coworkers were making fun of me because they don't know anyone who has had it as many times as me. So I'm wondering.

Whumpee silently patrols Whumper's property, a muzzle tight on their face. It itches underneath the straps but Whumpee isn't allowed to touch it. They've been stripped of their humanity, as if never human in the first place. Whumpee trotted like a well-trained dog, alert for intruders.

A thick shock collar encircles their neck, pinching the skin around the clip. Squeezing their throat like a consistent reminder of their entrapment. It took years for Whumpee to become like this, an aggressive guard dog that could be left unsupervised for weeks without any attempt to run.

Whumper would always tell they how well they did, even letting them inside for a couple of hours if they caught a trespasser. Early on, Whumpee wasn't appreciative of that. It took them being left tied to a stake in an uncovered part of the property for a whole year for them to learn that lesson.

They were not a pet, they were not an art piece, they were not meant to be loved or given luxury. Yet, Whumper would give them scratches on the top of their head, stroke their cheeks and praise them. They gave them sweets, once in a while, treated them like a thing to be cared for and not a tool.

Whumpee's feet are rough and cut up, freckles fleck their skin, and their hair bleached by the sun. Dirt clings to their skin, gravel dust colouring the ends of their limbs. Scars litter their skin like little reminders of their failures and slights.

They curl up under the house's porch, some nights. Right at the edge, so they can watch from someplace covered. Whumpee looks up at the stars. Those little lights, twinkling up in the sky, oh so free, call to them. And, yet, Whumpee knows they'll never reach the sky. They'll go with the ashy dust, settling into a random corner, trapped.

One day, there's a trespasser. However, this one seems... familiar. It bugs Whumpee but they push past it. It's not their job to think about things like that, it's their job to protect their master and their property. Whumpee growls, ignoring the person's worried and confused facial expression.

Caretaker didn't recognize Whumpee when they first saw them. It's like an animal had taken over Whumpee's body. The sounds they were making nothing short of animalistic. Caretaker stumbled back when the other lunged. Their eyes glance to the deck, where Whumper stands with a smug grin.

Barring medical necessity, there is no reason to bring your dog to a restaurant, there is no reason to bring your dog to the grocery store, there is no reason to bring your dog to the nail salon. This is a post directed to all the people here I see talking about leopard’s eating faces and the rants I see about ignorant, dumb republicans who just don’t know any better. I’ve been frustrated with this tone of argument for a long time, but I haven’t been able to articulate my points in the way I want to. Under the cut is what I believe to be one of the most insightful political opinion pieces in the last 10 years. If you’re at all interested in why your politics just don’t seem to be getting through to others I’d recommend reading this. It’s a life changing read, unironically. It’ll probably suck to read for lots of people on here, because it directly calls out bad behavior on the left while being almost completely apolitical and completely reasonable and backed by fact. I’ve had to read plenty of harsh truths in my life and I know they made me feel like shit, so I know this might hurt some people to read. If you see this and read through article I’d appreciate if you’d reblog (no pressure of course, plenty of people want to keep politics off their dash) so maybe this can get out to a wider audience. Thanks.

Keith's outfit analysis

I support all the fanon Keith fashion but I feel like his canon casual clothes say a lot more about him than people realize and I wanted to bring attention to that for a sec.

Also it's kind of funny nobody seems to comment on how he's wearing athleisure. These are not jeans or trousers. The belt isn't attached to his pants. He's wearing leggings. And a fitted top and cropped light weight jacket. He's dressed like he's ready to do cardio at any moment

The above screenshots are from Lulu Lemon. Fingerless gloves arent even a fashion statement for him, he drives a hoverbike. Boots are practical too.

If you look at Shiro (who’s wearing Keith’s dad’s clothes) and Keith next to the other humans you can see their clothes are really focused on practicality compared to the others. They’re pretty simple and mostly black, easy to put on quickly and perfect for hiding dirt or blood. They're made for movement.

I think people focus a bit too much on how edgy he looks and miss that at it's core his outfit prioritizes comfort, simplicity, and practicality. Which isn't to say that I dislike when people lean into punk and emo aesthetics with him, I'm just interested in what's already there.

Also I think the "I'm Keith and I'm so emo" line did irreversible damage to Keith character analysis if I'm being honest.
