This is an archival blog linked to my main tumblr - taocom. Tab at top of page. It contains digital versions of the collage/ process book "tunnel" which began at the end of long collaborative exchange between taocom and parc ave holdings of Montreal. It began as a documentation (of a sort) of the deconstruction/ depainting of a large triptych from 1987, the wing panels of which were reconfigured as a new, but related piece also entitled tunnel, completed c. 2002. What was, at its inception, meant to be a dozen or so pages grew to over 200, and constitutes an arcane examination of the processes of my conceptual evolution in the years between the two artworks, and an examination of the impulses that formed and subsequently distorted me. The original pages were all composed of hand cut and pasted text and image combination and reformation, and was colour laser printed and bound by myself as an edition of four. This digital version is scanned from the originals. The pages were designed to be seen in pairs in book form, and after initially posting it in its entirety in individual pages, I posted it again in paired page format. Use the tabs at the top of the page to choose your desired viewing format. I may comment upon certain pages or segments of the book, but the bulk of that will likely take place after posting is complete. I’m still here. This tumblr is a blog attached to my main taocom; an archive of my tunnel document collage book in both single page and paired page format. It is posted in its entirety, and I don’t wish to add more and create a jumble, but I should probably post something every few years, so here’s a pic from the KAWS exhibit @ the AGO March 2024.
