Tales of Arcadia Art Zine Announcements

Good Morning Trollhunters, Aliens, and Wizards!

Thank you so much for all the lovely applications. If you have applied but not received an acceptance email please let us know. Please direct your questions or comments to this tumblr, our instagram or our email at [email protected].

We have decided on the Anton Yelchin Foundation as the Zine’s charity. ALL proceeds will go to the foundation. We will announce the price of the zine in January. 

We will continue to make announcements periodically throughout this month and the next.

Tales of Arcadia Art Zine Application ends November 30th

Hello my fellow Trollhunters, Aliens, and Wizards!

Applications for the Charity Art Zine are finally open! We are happy to announce that “Straight Outta Arcadia” is now calling for artists!

Before you apply, here are some details:

Artwork will be in A4 format (2480 pixels x 3508 pixels) and 300 DPI.

It is up to the artist whether the artwork will be colored or grey-toned (black and white). It must, however, be digital. Unfinished works will not be accepted.

No OCs, AUs or Ships. Please try to stick within Canon means. (i.e. No Trollhunter Chomsky). If you are uncertain of whether your art meets these criteria please contact us.

Please stick to the deadlines as they are provided (tentatively in early January). If more than a third of participants cannot make the deadline we will move it. Otherwise, your artwork will not be accepted.

Art Zine Monthly Schedule (Subject to Change)

Hello my fellow Trollhunters, Aliens, and Wizards!

Currently, both the Art Applications and Staff Applications are open. Here is our tentative timeline that may be subject to change.

November

Art and Staff applications open from November 2nd to November 30th.

Q&A open November 2nd on tumblr and stay open until Zine is finished.

December

Staff application acceptances go out the first week of December.

Rough draft of Zine layout will be announced on December 19th.

First Check-in on December 20th.

Artist bios and profile pictures must be sent in by December 31st.

January

Second Check-in on January 10th.

Final Check-in on January 20th.

February

Artists and staff members may receive a free copy of the Zine a few days prior to release.

Zine is released sometime in February.

Tales of Arcadia Art Zine Editorial Staff Application

Hello my fellow Trollhunters, Aliens, and Wizards!

We are happy to announce Staff applications are open! Currently, we have a small group of dedicated members but are looking for help in making this zine as fan-friendly as possible. The deadline for this Application is the End of November (November 30th). 

Before you apply here are some details:

You must be 16 to apply. This requirement cannot be waived.

Unlike the Art Zine there are a finite amount of positions available. Positions and their descriptions are listed below. Depending on how many people participate in the art zine we may increase the number by the end of November. 

You must be able to write in English in order to communicate with other staff. 

No Experience necessary. 

You will need a Discord in order to interact with other members. 

Positions

Designers: 2 Positions Available. 

Their role is to help design the publication. They will work closely with the Editor in Chief and Art Director to ensure things are on schedule and material is quality. They will be in charge of the Zine’s interior, so familiarity with Photoshop or InDesign would be recommended but not necessary. 

Zine Layout Manager: 2 Positions Available.

They are in charge of organizing the zine to make sure everything fits properly. They will need to be able to edit photos to fit the Zine and organize the artworks to be pleasing to the eye. Familiarity with Photoshop and/or Indesign would be recommended but not necessary. 

Social Media Manager: 1 Position Available. 

Their role will require them to work with the Editorial staff to put out updates and deadlines concerning the Zine. They will also be in charge of the different media accounts and answering questions regarding the Zine. 

Fanzine Staff Member: 5 Positions Available.

This is a jack-of-all-trades position. Their role is to check all text materials in the art zine for correct grammar and spelling, overseeing the completion of goals and working with the rest of the staff in the distribution of the Zine.

Announcement for Zine

Hello all! A few of us got together and decided, hey, why not make a Tales of Arcadia Art Zine? This would include all three series: Trollhunters, 3 Below and (to be released this Winter hopefully) Wizards. The release of the zine would be tentatively in Winter 2020 (sometime between January and February).  This will be a Charity Zine, in that neither the organizers nor artists will receive payment but rather it will go to an elected Charity (TBA).  Below is some information regarding the General Rules and Applications that will be released in early November.

General Rules:

1. Nothing sexual or overly implicative of sex 2. Nothing too bloody or gory 3. No explicit language, drugs, alcohol, drug paraphernalia or anything generally or politically offensive.

Applications:

There will be two applications we will be releasing in the upcoming week: the Art Application and the Zine Editorial Staff Application. For those of you who either are or aren’t artists and want to help, you are welcome to apply to assist on the Zine. No experience necessary.

As for the Art Application, as this is a by the fandom for the fandom art zine, so long as you (a) do a digital work that is (b) colored or greyscaled, you will get into the Zine so long as you follow the deadlines and guidelines that will be provided.
