Save Me: Chapter 77 - See You Again
~Hey guys! This is the final chapter of Save Me, I just wanted to thank you all for sticking by me and my story for so long. It has been our journey and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed creating it. I love you all...thank you~
After Molly's passing, all of Alexandria grieves and a wave of guilt passes through the Chambler family. Negan makes a shocking revelation as the fate of Alexandria is revealed as was Molly's final wish. We rejoin Negan, Lydia and Zoe five years after their return to Alexandria as people are reunited in an emotional final chapter.
Lydia's POV//
The frustrating peaceful solitude encircled all of us as we walked to Alexandria.
No walkers, no birdsong, no breeze, nothing, like Molly took all of the life out of the world when she died.
I was exhausted of tears, my face was dry and taught from the salt crusting under my eyes.
I couldn't speak, none of could.
I tried to numb the pain so I didn't look at my dad.
I knew if I saw how much pain he was in, it would destroy me so I kept my eyes on the concrete as we walked in silence.
Daryl carried Zoe and she didn't make a sound.
She had cried when our mom was taken from us, but now she was silent and I worried she would be silent forever.
We didn't stop, no water or food, none of us felt hungry or thirsty.
The only thing that kept our legs moving was the thought of getting Zoe to Alexandria safely.
I think it took walking through those gates and seeing everyone standing there with wide eyes and shocked expressions to realise how truly gone my mom was.
Michonne ran to me and Daryl and as much as she tried to hold it together for us, she broke down in tears as did everyone else.
I stood there as everyone crowded around me, checking to see how I was, asking what had happened, people screaming and crying.
I looked up amongst the commotion and saw my dad walk away slowly towards our house.
He didn't look at anyone, he just walked with an emotionless expression on his face.
Maggie stood with Rosita and cried softly into her shoulder.
Judith and Gracie came running over with smiles on their faces to see us but when Michonne spoke to her, her face dropped and tears ran down her cheek.
They must have thought it strange that I didn't cry or scream.
I just felt numb now, like after everything i'd lost, I had no more emotions to give.
I took Zoe out of Daryl's arms and held my sister close to me as I told everyone to give us space.
I followed after my dad to the house and when I walked inside, he was rushing around, pulling out drawers and opening cupboards as if he was searching for something.
I just stood in the doorway worriedly as I watched him.
He sighed when he found it, it was his baseball bat with barbed wire, the one people called Lucille.
He barely looked at me and moved past out into the garden.
I turned around and saw him grabbing a pile of wood and a bottle of bourbon.
He chucked the bat onto the wood and lit the whole thing with a lighter.
I gasped at the roaring flames as I watched my dad just standing there with his hands in his pockets as he intensely watched the bat burn.
People started to look over, so I walked slowly and took his arm.
'Dad please' I said as I rocked Zoe in my arms.
'This won't bring her back' I continued choking on my words.
At this, he started to gasp and cry as he wrapped his arms around Zoe and I.
I found my tears again and cried into his shoulder.
'This is all my fault' he said angrily.
I looked up in confusion.
'I shouldn't have let her go out there, it should have been me. I put her through so much pain, she suffered because of me. The people I killed, people she loved. It should've been me, it should've been me' he said crying.
In that moment I wanted to tell him that if anyone was to blame, it was me, but admitting that out loud was too much to bear.
'I don't want it anymore, I don't wanna look at it' my dad continued as he glared at the blackening bat.
Michonne came rushing over, people tried to follow her when they saw the flames close to our house but Daryl held them back.
'I know what you're gonna say Michonne' Negan started as he let go of us.
She shook her head.
'I don't know what to say...I can't. I'm so sorry, but you have two beautiful daughters that need you to be strong right now and if I know anything, you are the most stubborn, strong, son of a bitch I know. Don't do this...' she warned.
My dad looked at her in confusion as he exhaled and asked 'do what?'.
'Burn everything to the ground' she said pointing to the flames near our house.
He shook his head.
'I would never. This is our home...this i-is Molly's home. I'm destroying Lucille, I don't want to reminded of all the ways I failed Molly' he said drained of all energy.
Michonne nodded slowly but ushered some guys over to put the fire out.
'I used to think that you were a monster, someone who couldn't change. But, here you are, standing strong with your daughters in Alexandria. Someone who fought for us and helped save our people. Because of you, you all, the hoard that was heading straight for us, changed its course' she said sadly but proudly.
'What?' I asked in confusion.
'The hoard would have killed us all' Michonne said sadly, knowing the price we all paid for our safety.
'Of course Molly saved us all. She knew the moment she saw it' my dad said to himself as the realisation hit.
'We get through this, all of us' I said as I spoke my mom's words while I connected the dots as Michonne looked at me and smiled sadly.
'That sounds like Molly' Michonne said tearfully.
I gasped in relief and broke down on the grass.
My dad immediately hugged me and Zoe.
'I thought it was all my fault, that mom went out there after me, but she knew about the hoard' I said in tears.
Michonne nodded as my dad said 'you were never to blame Lydia'.
Michonne smiled sadly at us and stood silently while we held each other until I said softly to my dad, 'can we have a funeral for mom?'.
He smiled sadly and said 'of course sweetheart' as he looked up at Michonne who nodded in agreement.
The next day...
The church service Gabriel was doing for us was at noon.
I stood in my room, facing the mirror and admired the locket my mom gave me.
My eyes started to tear up when I placed it to my lips and kissed it with my eyes closed.
'I love you mom' I whispered as I held it tightly in my hands.
She was right, somehow this locket made me feel close to her, like she was still with me.
I smiled when that memory flashed in my mind. How much she loved me, how she had given me a family, a home.
My dad knocked on my door and asked 'are you ready?' even though I knew he wasn't.
I nodded silently as we walked as a family to the church.
The whole compound was quiet and people looked at the three of us, checking if we were okay, some scowled at my dad for his past but we just ignored it.
People said wonderful things about my mom.
They said how much she'd told everyone about how she loved us and how brave and wise she was in believing in my dad.
Then it was dad's turn.
He stood up slowly and walked to the podium.
He looked down as he steadied himself and said 'my whole life had been filled with darkness until I met Molly. She made me stronger, a much better person than I was'.
'She loved me for who I was, even after everything that I did. When I lost her...I-I thought that I couldn't carry on' dad added.
'But then looking at my two wonderful daughters, I see Molly in them every single day and I know that she is with me, she is with all of us. Molly was the type of person who inspired people to be the best version of themselves. She believed in people and she was the strongest person' he started to say as he tested up.
'So now, now that I have to live without her, the love of my life, I will strive to do my wife proud and be the person she always saw in me. I love you darlin, we will be together again' he said with tears flowing down his face.
People cried and smiled in my mom's remembrance, even those who scowled, now had tears in their eyes.
My dad held my hand as I walked up to the podium shakily.
I didn't know whether I could do this, but I had to for my mom.
She always said I was brave so I wanted to prove it to her.
I took a deep breath and said 'Molly found me when I was a whisperer, she didn't know me. But, she took me in and looked after me, despite who I was. She showed me love and care, more than I'd ever known before. She gave me a chance because she believed in me. She didn't see an enemy, she saw a human being when others didn't'.
I took a deep breath and continued.
'Over time, she became my mom and then I had a dad and suddenly my whole life was falling into place, I had everything I'd ever wanted. But, even though my mom can't be with me, she's here, in every single part of Alexandria. Her inspiration and love will live on and I will dedicate my life to being as great as she was. Thank you' I said as I wiped away my tears and walked back to sit down.
'She would be so proud of you' my dad said as he held Zoe and we walked through the compound.
Five years later...
A few years had passed since my mom died and every day the pain stays the same.
They had made a headstone for my mom which was in the graveyard but I could never bring myself to visit.
Even though dad would bring her flowers every single day and talked with her.
He encouraged me to do the same but until now, I couldn't.
People tell me it will get easier but I don't think I will ever get over her being gone forever.
The only comfort I have is feeling like I can go and see her now i'm older.
I go and see her while I write in my journal and talk out loud about what has been happening.
'I'm sorry I haven't visited until now mom. The truth is, I felt as though not seeing your grave, somehow kept your memory alive. It was easier to lie to myself about the fact that you were really gone rather than face the truth. It just hurt too much. But now, I feel as though there's hope in the air and I'm finally opening myself up to heal. Dad says he's proud of me so you know what he's like. I can't let him down. So, here we go...' I said quietly.
'Zoe is getting so big, she looks just like you mom. I miss you. Dad said it helps talking aloud to you like this, so I thought you'd wanna know what has been happening' I started to say.
'After Alpha died, Carol and Ezekiel went to Oceanside where they would live permanently on their boat so that Carol could heal away from it all. Also, your friends Yumiko and Magna built a cottage outside Hilltop where Luke is their leader with his girlfriend Jules' I said hesitantly.
'Mary lives at Hilltop with Earl and her nephew Adam. Daryl currently lives outside Alexandria with Connie and Dog but he comes back to see us all the time. Rosita and Gabriel broke up because of Eugene, but he still visits Coco and is part of her life. Aaron and Gracie come to see us every week. Gracie is my best friend and I think Aaron secretly likes talking to dad now' I added, feeling happier as I continued.
I paused, smiling as I looked over at my dad sitting with Zoe out on our front porch.
'Dad's doing okay, I don't want you to worry about him. He has us and sometimes he smiles now like he used to' I said happily.
'Judith's dad, Rick came home. He was working for this place called the Commonwealth and he was so happy when he saw Michonne and Judith and he met his son RJ. I don't fully understand it, all we'd heard was that he died but he came back so it makes me wonder if I will ever see you again mom. I asked Rick when he came to talk to us about you. He said how devastated he was and how much he loved you, you were family' I continued as I watched dad and Zoe play.
'But, he promised us that now we would be family too and when I told him about dad, he promised to give him a chance too. Dad was working on agricultural developments when Rick came by with Judith. Judith and I played with Zoe as we did a puzzle on the living room floor with Rick when Dad came in' I said reminiscing.
'I thought Rick knew that my dad was alive and part of the community but he still looked shocked. They went into the kitchen to talk and were there for hours. When they came out, both of them shook hands and almost smiled. You would have loved to see that mom' I said smiling sadly.
I stopped when I saw my dad and Zoe walking over.
He smiled and said 'c'mon sweetheart, family meeting'.
I closed my journal and smiled as we walked past mom's memorial bench.
'Where are we going?' I asked as my dad just smiled.
'I've been working with Michonne on a project and it's finally ready' he said excitedly.
We turned down the road and saw a large white building with writing that read:
The Molly Chambler Academy
I gasped and Zoe said excitedly 'momma!' when I pointed to the sign.
'I think it was high time we had a damn school in this place, so it's dedicated to mom. It will change lives, just like she did' dad said happily.
He opened the doors and we walked through to see a large schoolroom with a blackboard and desks, paintings of all those we'd lost including mom with a painted wall that wrote 'The Future is Ours'.
'Do you like it?' dad asked as we wandered around.
'It's perfect, oh look! It's our favourite book dad!' I said excitedly.
He chuckled and said 'I know, I put it right at the front for ya, you can take it whenever you want. That goes for all the books, so long as you bring them back before my lessons'.
I turned around in shock.
'You're gonna teach here?!' I asked excitedly.
He nodded smiling and said 'mhm'.
Zoe and I ran over and hugged him, 'that's so amazing dad!' I said happily.
'I know, I'm pretty fantastic' he said sarcastically before he got serious and asked us to sit on the bench as he pulled out something from his pocket.
It was mom's locket.
I teared up.
'I thought it was lost when...she-' I started to say as I choked on my words.
'I found it in my pocket, I hadn't worn this jacket since' he said smiling at the silver necklace.
'Zoe sweetheart' dad said as he opened the clasp and placed it around her neck.
Zoe giggled and looked at it.
'Shiny' she said happily as dad and I smiled.
'Look at my girls' dad said happily as he hugged us both.
'I love you both so damn much' he said blissfully as Zoe and I wrapped our arms around him tightly.
Looking down at the locket, I smiled as I felt mom here with us.
'We love you too' I said with a bitter sweetness.

Save Me: Chapter 76 - Never Let Me Go
~Hey guys! Chapter 76 is out now :) I hope everyone enjoys the penultimate chapter of Save Me...get ready for the finale!~
Molly, Negan, Daryl and Lydia all encounter Alpha's hoard as they strive to protect Zoe.
'Can we out run them?!' I asked worriedly as we walked out into the middle of the road.
I carried Zoe in a makeshift blanket sash across my chest.
'We have to try' Daryl said as Lydia said 'c'mon!' and we hurriedly paced ahead.
The hoard was large enough that it surrounded us in all directions.
We only thought that they were behind us but there were coming in from the sides of us through the trees.
Daryl and Negan helped me walk either side of me as they shot walkers close by.
The loud snarl of the hoard seemed to grow louder and louder with every step, which of course called more walkers around us.
The only advantage was that they were slow but we were low on ammo and after just giving birth, I couldn't walk very fast.
The hoard seemed to gain on us with every movement and when Zoe started to cry, walkers started to emerge out in front of us.
We stopped and turned around to see that we were trapped.
I bounced Zoe in my arms and said 'shh' softly as I tried to quiet her while we figured out a plan.
'We should've stayed at the house' Negan said in frustration.
'No, walkers would've flooded that place, we wouldn't stand a chance' I said as I held his hand to calm him.
'Everyone surround Molly, we move as one and fight our way through' Negan said as everyone raised their weapons and we moved forwards.
Zoe started to quiet down and I held her tightly and close to me, my maternal instincts setting in.
I knew I wouldn't let anything happen to her or Lydia.
Lydia staked a couple walkers with her staff, while Daryl shot some with his crossbow which opened a small gap for us to get through.
I gave Negan one of my knives and he pushed off walkers that got too close and plunged the blade through their skulls.
Daryl reached out his hand and pulled me and Lydia through as Negan fought off the walkers that lunged for us.
I grabbed Negan's hand and we squeezed through, pushing and shoving the encircling walkers away from each of us, protecting each other as a family.
Once we got through, there was a fairly clear line of sight down the road and we thought we had made it.
'Thank fuck' Negan said in relief as he swung my arm over his shoulder and helped me walk.
Lydia and Daryl marched close in front and surveilled the area.
They took one of the dead walker bodies and gutted it open, smothering themselves in it so we could move through them.
'Shit, not this again' Negan said almost gagging at the smell.
I buttoned my shirt over the sash so that Zoe wouldn't be in direct contact with the guts because I didn't want her to get sick.
I then smothered myself in the guts as Negan did the same.
'How's she doing?' Negan asked me as he peaked behind the shirt.
I smiled in relief, saying 'she's okay, no clue how the sound of killing walkers or their smell put her to sleep though'.
Negan chuckled as he said 'she's a badass, just like her mom' as he kissed my forehead and stroked my arm as I limped.
'How you feelin' Moll?' Negan continued with more worry in his voice.
I nodded and said 'I'm okay, I can keep going if that's what you mean. I can rest when we get to Alexandria'.
Daryl shouted suddenly, 'heads up' as he pointed down the hill.
'The hoard?' I asked with concern as I stroked Zoe's face.
'Must be what's left of Alpha's' Negan answered as he squinted in the distance.
'Can we get through?' I asked Daryl as Lydia moved closer to me for protection.
'Yeah, but it's risky. That's just what we can see, who knows what else is down there' Daryl answered with concern in his voice.
I nodded.
'It's the only way to Alexandria, what choice do we have?' I said as I looked up at Negan who was deliberating.
Negan turned around to see the hoard we'd just escaped through was still behind us, it's width stretching for miles.
'Alright. But Molly, if anything happens, I don't care what, you keep going' he said seriously as he turned back to me.
'We'll be fine, all of us' I said frowning worriedly.
'Anything happens to any of us, we get Molly out first' Daryl agreed sternly.
I looked at him and said 'no, you're not putting yourselves at risk for me, especially you Lydia' I added as I turned to her.
'I won't let that happen. We're gonna be okay and we're gonna make it through, all of us' I said sternly as everyone looked at me.
Daryl agreed and ushered us to keep moving through.
I saw Negan's sad expression and I said, 'don't worry, we're both gonna be okay, you won't lose me'.
He looked up at me and smiled slightly, saying 'you're right darlin'.
'Always am' I teased as we took a deep breath and ventured down the hill.
Daryl sniped about a dozen walkers who were in our path, which gave us a small window of time to get through before the noise attracted more of them.
With one arm I held Zoe close to me and with the other I sliced through walkers nearby me and my family.
I pulled Lydia away from one which was coming too close to her and sliced it through its skull.
I kept her close behind me so I could protect both of my daughters while Daryl and Negan opened up a path for all of us.
Negan was out in front with Daryl but soon moved behind us to protect us from walkers behind while Daryl took out the ones up front.
Lydia and I took out the ones on either side so we were all moving in sync with each other like a human shield.
Once Daryl could see an end in sight, he nodded to me for my hand but I moved behind Lydia and pulled her through to Daryl.
'Get behind me Moll' Negan said as he moved in front of me and blocked walkers from getting Zoe.
Daryl and Lydia kept moving through which I told them to do so that they were safe while Negan and I fought our way through.
Negan stabbed a walker close to my face while I lunged to shoot one near his.
'Remind you of anything?' Negan said breathlessly with a smirk as he grunted and lunged, taking out the dead.
I smiled.
'I think we've done this before?' I said sarcastically as I swiped and shot walkers through their decaying brains.
Negan saw the end in sight and Daryl and Lydia out in the distance, clear of walkers and grabbed my hand tightly in his.
I kept close to his back as we moved through when suddenly everything clouded into slow motion.
I felt a streak of pain through my back and thought it was just part of the aftermath from my pregnancy, but I gasped when I felt my flesh being torn out.
My eyes widened and as Negan tried to pull me through with him.
He turned around when he felt the resistance of my hand.
I let go of his hand in realisation and the smell of my bloodied flesh made the walkers lunge for me.
'Molly...' Negan said slowly like he was under water, confused by my stopping until the realisation hit.
I felt weak and faint from the blood loss and when he saw the other walkers lunge for me, ripping at my flesh behind me, his eyes widened and he screamed 'NO!'.
He stabbed at the walkers behind me and tried to pull me through but they had gotten a firm hold of me.
My eyes slipped open and closed at the blood loss and I knew this was my time.
Negan's visceral scream raged through my ears, the only thing snapping to the reality.
I smiled at him weakly for the last time as the truth sank in for both of us in those few seconds.
I knew what I had to do, as my last job on earth as a mother.
I lifted the sash over my head as walkers encircled me and ripped at my flesh all over my body and handed Zoe to Negan over the walkers.
He still tried to fight them off and get to me but they were overwhelming me now.
'I love you' I whispered to him breathlessly as I took out my gun and held it against my head.
Their screams were the last thing I heard before I pulled the trigger.
Black.
Lydia's POV//
Daryl and I climbed up onto the top of an abandoned RV as we waited there for my mom and dad.
They were seconds behind us, but all I could think was my mom would already be out of there by now if she hadn't gotten me out first.
'They're out!' I said happily to Daryl as I smiled up at him but when I saw his smile drop, I turned back around and heard the scream.
It pierced through my ear drum and when I saw my dad pulling my mom's hand repeatedly but he couldn't get her out of there, it sunk in.
I dropped to my knees as Daryl stood there in shock.
I watched, not being able to look away as Zoe was passed to my dad and my mom's face sunk into the hoard.
The sounds of ripping flesh haunted my ears and I shut my eyes tightly until I heard the gunshot.
She was gone.
My mom was gone.
I screamed and covered my mouth as tears rushed down my face.
I gasped for breath and Daryl sunk to his knees weakly as he held me.
He sobbed into my hair as we sat there, watching the horror unfold in front of our eyes.
I wheezed and panted for breath as my nose and eyes ran, but was jolted into action when I saw my dad just standing there, frozen with shock.
I frantically climbed down the ladder.
'Lydia!' Daryl yelled warningly as I screamed 'No!' and ran after my dad.
I sprinted towards him and the hoard and just as they were about to grab him, I pulled his arm and he paced backwards still not taking his eyes off having to leave his wife behind.
'Dad, please!' I yelled as he suddenly exhaled from shock and moved forwards with me to the RV.
He put his arm around me and I took Zoe in my arms as we climbed up.
I cried into his shoulder as he held me and Zoe tightly, his tears dropping on our faces as he kissed our foreheads.
Daryl sat silently in front of us as he bowed his head into his knees.
All of us sat in silence, with the mind numbing sound of the hoard passing under us.

Save Me: Chapter 75 - For Me
~Hey guys! Chapter 75 is out now :) I cant believe theres only two more chapters of Save Me, this journey has been incredible and I'm so grateful for all of you supporting me <3 Enjoy!~
Molly, Negan and Daryl all go out to look for Lydia when they encounter a dangerous threat which affects the safety of the whole family.
That journey felt like the longest ever.
Each step we took felt like we weren't any closer to reaching Lydia.
We didn't even know whether she would be at the bridge but I just held onto hope a tightly as I could because there was no way in hell that I would leave her out there.
When we reached the border, I angrily took out the pikes that lined it.
The barbarity of the whisperers would never been repeated but unfortunately we would never be able to forget either, pikes or no pikes.
That was where Aaron and Carol had seen Lydia and they told us the direction she had headed in since, so we followed it until we got to the road.
I recognised it instantly and I knew that the bridge wasn't far from here.
'Guys! this way!' I said to Negan and Daryl as I saw an abandoned car in the distance.
We all automatically put up our weapons, just in case of people or walkers in or around the car.
Negan asked me to stay back and wait while he and Daryl checked it out.
I reluctantly agreed and watched them cautiously as they moved around the vehicle.
Daryl wiped away dust on the back window and shook his head to signal there was nothing in there.
Negan moved around and stopped when he crouched by the back tires.
'Molly' he shouted as he ushered me over.
'What is it?' I asked worriedly as he stood up slowly and turned around as he held out a silver locket in his fingers.
My heart dropped as I took it in my hands and saw the engraving: T.C.
'It's Lydia's' I said sadly as I looked down and put it in my pocket.
Daryl patted my shoulder and said 'it could've fallen off, doesn't mean she's dead'.
Negan nodded.
'We'll find her Moll' he said smiling weakly as he wrapped an arm around me.
I nodded a silent 'mhm' as we kept walking.
She could still be at the bridge or somewhere near it, I thought to myself.
Hope was all I had at the moment and I couldn't lose it or it would break me.
It wasn't much later until we reached the bridge.
I paced as fast as I could in my condition and checked the bridge frantically.
There was no sign of her at all.
I wanted to scream in pain as I gripped my hair in frustration.
'What if something happened to her? I was sure this was it! This was the place!' I yelled as I started to tear up.
'Kid!' Negan yelled as he searched down the bank.
Daryl went in the opposite direction and yelled 'Lydia!'.
I paced around on the bridge as tears rolled down my face.
'I can't lose her' I said to Negan as he came back up to the bridge.
He ran over and hugged me as he stroked my hair.
'I know, I know' he said soothingly.
'I can't lose anyone else, I just can't' I cried into his chest as he kissed my head and turned to Daryl almost pleadingly.
This was the first time where I saw Negan feeling completely hopeless and out of control, he knew he couldn't help me or take the pain away.
'I'm not stopping until I find her' I said as I inhaled and wiped away my tears and I continued over the bridge.
'We've gone too far out, it's getting dark' Daryl said softly.
Negan spun round and said sternly 'she's our daughter, you go back if you want but we're going on. I can protect Molly by myself'.
Negan followed after me and so did Daryl after some hesitation.
We carried on walking for hours and hours, stopping occasionally for water and rest.
It was starting to get dark now so we agreed to walk along the roadside so we could see walkers better just in case any approached us.
I felt like I was in a daze, the only sound was the clack of my feet on the tarmac as we walked with no end in sight.
Our supplies were starting to get low and Daryl was right, it was getting dark and soon it would be stupidly dangerous to stay out here.
Negan persuaded me to turn back and just as I agreed I saw another abandoned car further up the road.
It looked like it had crashed into a tree and some walkers were around it.
'There's someone in there!' I said as I pointed it out.
'Walkers wouldn't be around it if there wasn't' I said hopefully.
Daryl and Negan ran over to check it out as I paced after them.
Daryl took out the walkers with his crossbow as Negan ran round to check inside.
'There's someone in there!' he said to me as he pulled open the door.
'Lydia' he said slowly which made my eyes widen as I came over as fast as I could.
He reached inside the backseat and carried her out, laying her on the grass as he checked her pulse.
'Lydia! Oh my god!' I said as I stayed by her worriedly.
'She's alive, but her pulse is weak' Negan said as Daryl took out a blanket from his rucksack to make her more comfortable.
I took her hand in mine and it was as cold as ice, she started to move and her eyes opened slowly as she looked at me.
'Mom?' she asked as she tried to sit up.
'Easy, easy' Daryl said as she lay back down.
'You found me' Lydia said wearily.
'I'm so sorry' she cried as she lay back.
I lowered myself down slowly and sat next to her on the grass.
'Hey, shh, it's okay. I'm just glad I found you and that you're safe' I said as I stroked her face.
Negan gave her some water and food and she started to regain her strength.
'Why did you leave kiddo?' Negan asked softly.
Lydia looked down sadly and said 'I thought it would be better for everyone at Alexandria if I left. No more reminders of the whisperers so everyone can just heal. I do love Alexandria, it's my home, but when you said that Alpha had died...I felt weirdly out of place, like I didn't belong anywhere'.
'I understand. I was so wrapped up in the idea that the person who had killed my sister was dead, but I didn't think about how she was your mother and how hard losing her would be on you. I should've known you weren't okay, that's my job. But, I swear to you, I will do better. I promise, we promise' I said seriously as she smiled at all of us.
'Thank you. Not just for saving me, but for everything else. You both gave me a home and I'm sorry it took me so long to realise that it is my home and that I do belong in Alexandria. For the longest time, I've always felt out of place, but now I know that people may call me a whisperer, but that doesn't mean that I am one' Lydia said softly as Negan and I hugged her.
'You're damn right kid' Negan said smiling as he looked up at me.
I was crying happy tears because I had my two daughters back and they were both safe.
We were getting ready to leave and head back to Alexandria and as Negan held my hand and helped me up, a sharp pain shot up my spine.
'Agh!' I shouted as I placed a hand on my back and I felt pressure in my lower stomach.
'What is it? Is it the baby?!' Negan asked worriedly as I leant on him.
I nodded 'mhm' as I shut my eyes tightly in pain.
Daryl said 'shit' as he and Lydia gathered up our stuff and said we had to move because he saw a large hoard of walkers in the distance.
'We can't out run em, we need shelter' Daryl continued as I tried to walk as Negan helped me lean on him for support.
'There's a house just down the road' Negan said as he looked around us frantically and spotted a shadowed building close by.
I panted and winced at the pain.
It must have been contractions and the pain was becoming unbearable to keep walking so Negan lifted me up and carried me in his arms.
'You can't, I'm too heavy!' I said breathlessly.
'Light as a feather darlin' he joked as he walked further.
Daryl opened the gates to the house and he busted open the door and checked for walkers inside.
Lydia held my hand as Negan carried me to the door and up the stairs.
The house was abandoned and old, the windows were cracked and the floorboards creaked.
Daryl secured the front door and pushed a bookshelf against it to hold it incase the hoard moved past the house.
He shut all other entrances and met us upstairs where Negan was laying down blankets and Lydia was taking out water and rolling up her sleeves.
'You know how to do this kid?' Negan asked Lydia as she remained calm.
'We had a lot of births being outside' she replied as Negan just nodded.
Daryl stood around awkwardly until he said 'I'm gonna keep an eye out downstairs, tell me when y'all done' as he walked swiftly out the room.
I started to sweat and I panted through the pain.
Negan removed my shirt and pants as I lay on the blankets with my head propped up on a pillow.
'Your water's broke and you're dilated about 4cm' Lydia said calmly as we were both in awe.
She sounded like a damn doctor.
I grabbed Negan's hand and squeezed tightly when the contractions came, it felt like I was being repeatedly shot in the stomach.
Lydia held my legs as she said 'I can see her!'.
I panted in relief as Negan wiped my brow to keep me cool.
I started to push and screamed 'Agh!' as I squeezed Negan's hand harder, digging my nails into his skin.
He just chuckled the pain away and stroked my hair.
'You're doing wonderful darlin' he said softly as he kissed my forehead.
I took a few deep breaths between pushes and screamed through the last push as Lydia said 'keep going, she's here!' and pulled her out.
I panted as my eyes rolled closed and I smiled when I heard screaming from my baby.
'It's a girl!' Negan said as Lydia wrapped her in a blanket and tied the umbilical cord with string in her bag.
Daryl came back in and said 'coast is clear' and immediately looked away when he saw the mess.
'Daryl I need your penknife' Lydia said as he handed it to her hastily.
She cut the cord and lifted our baby to me.
I cried when I saw her little face.
I held her against my chest as Negan wriggled down to lie beside me as he kissed our daughter on the forehead.
'Welcome to the world Zoe' he said softly as he smiled at me.
I smiled and asked 'Zoe? I thought you didn't like that name'.
He shook his head.
'No, after what you just fucking went through, you can have your choice' he chuckled as he kissed me.
'Hi Zoe' Lydia said as she lay down on the other side of me.
'Is that your big sister?' I whispered to Zoe as she opened her eyes and stared at her.
'How are you feeling?' Negan asked me worriedly as I smiled up at him.
'I'm perfect, absolutely perfect' I replied happily.
'How lucky are we? Our two daughters' Negan said as we all cuddled together.
While Lydia and I held Zoe, Negan jumped up to check outside.
'We should be okay here for a few hours' he said as he looked over to Daryl who nodded.
'The hoard might not come this way but that doesn't mean that it couldn't. We need to be ready to move if it does' he replied.
I shot Negan a worried look and he said to Daryl, 'my wife has just given birth, I don't think she's up for a walk right now'.
'We might not get a choice' Daryl said sternly as he and Negan glared at each other.
I sighed and said 'enough, if we have to go, we go'.
Lydia packed up her bag as I breastfed Zoe, admiring how adorable and perfect she was.
I reached back and undid the clasp of my locket and tucked it into Negan's jacket which was on the floor next to me.
I just wanted to make sure that Zoe would get the locket no matter what happened, I wanted my daughters to be equal.
I pulled out the locket from my pocket and gave it to Lydia.
'We found this' I said smiling as she looked so happy to see it again.
'It must have ripped off when I fought off a walker' she said as she put it back on and admired it.
'Been there' I joked as Negan turned around and rolled his eyes in reminiscence.
Daryl watched at the window for hours without sleep while he protected our family.
'Thank you Daryl' I said smiling at him as he nodded.
'She's gonna be a lil ass kicker that's for sure' Daryl said sweetly.
Negan and I chuckled as we held her in our arms.
Lydia was nestled under my arm and I stroked her hair as we all lay there in silent peace.
My bleeding had stopped and I felt my strength coming back after a few hours which was a good sign.
But, just as I was about to sit up, Daryl said 'hoard' as he spied it through his sniper rifle.
'We have to go' Lydia said as I held Zoe in my arms and Negan grabbed our bags.

Save Me: Chapter 74 - Not There
~Hey guys! Chapter 74 is out now :) I hope y’all enjoy and as always lemme know your thoughts on Save Me so far, it always means the world to me <3 Have a great week!~
Molly and Negan deal with Lydia's departure from Alexandria while Daryl and Connie take their relationship to the next level.
Last night I got the best night's sleep of my entire life.
I had needed it more than I thought because nothing could've woke me other than Negan's voice.
'Molly' he said gently as he rocked me with his hand.
I groaned as I rolled over to face him.
I opened my eyes slowly and saw him dressed and standing worriedly as he hovered over me.
'What?' I said sleepily as I stroked his arm.
'Lydia's left. I went downstairs and her stuff is gone, her bed was empty' he said worriedly as he raked a hand through his hair.
I jolted myself out of bed and sat up.
'What?! Are you sure?' I said frantically as I got dressed and rushed to her room.
Empty.
Her wardrobe.
Empty.
'Oh my god' I said tearfully to Negan as he wrapped an arm around me.
'I-I'll check the compound, she must be somewhere' I said as I ran downstairs.
'Molly...' Negan said softly as he tried to tell me what I already feared.
'No, she wouldn't leave' I replied sternly as I paced around the compound for hours and held my locket tightly in my hand.
~flashback~
I sat in the living room as I stroked my baby bump and smiled.
I took off my locket from around my neck and placed it onto the kitchen counter.
I smiled as I opened it to reveal a picture of Tara and I and on the other side, Negan and I.
I remembered the note I had written for Lydia and wanted to do the same for my second child.
I grabbed a piece of paper and a pen and wrote:
Sweetheart,
Remember that the bond of sisters can never be broken. I love you.
Forever and always, Mom
I folded up the piece of paper and placed it inside my locket.
I wanted our children to have the locket's that Tara and I had growing up.
They always kept us close, even when we were separated.
Present Day...
Negan followed after me and just looked around sadly.
'We can't blame her Molly' he said slowly.
I turned around and scowled as I asked 'what do you mean?'.
'We killed her mother, she didn't love her but that doesn't change the fact' he said seriously.
'So we should just let her go? I'm her mom! She's our family!' I yelled.
'I know that, I love the kid too! But forcing Lydia to stay here when she doesn't want to...it's not right Mol' he replied.
'She's out there alone' I cried.
'If she doesn't want to stay here, you'd be okay with that?' Negan asked me as he walked closer.
'As long as I know she's happy. I just have to know' I said as I cried into his arms.
'Then we go, both of us' he said as he held me close and stroked the baby bump.
'I thought you'd tell me I shouldn't go in my condition?' I mocked.
He shook his head.
'I could never stop you before, what makes you think I could now? Lydia's our daughter, so we go after her no matter what. I'll protect you, but we need others with us too just in case. I'll ask Daryl' he said.
I looked up sceptically, asking 'since when were you and Daryl friends?'.
He chuckled replying 'we're not, but he tolerates me now we have a baby'.
I rolled my eyes just as I saw two figures heading this way in this distance.
'Molly!' Carol said as she came running over as Aaron followed her.
'What is it?' I asked worriedly.
'It's Lydia, we were searching the border just in case and Lydia escaped past us' Carol said breathlessly.
'Did she say where she was going?' I asked frantically.
'No, she just told us to let her go. She wanted to be alone' Aaron said.
I worked it out and eventually it hit me.
'The bridge!' I said suddenly.
'She would've gone to the bridge, that's where we first found her. It's the nearest point past the border' I said frantically.
I looked at Negan, 'I need to know' I said to him softly.
He nodded and told Carol and Aaron the plan.
Daryl and Michonne heard the commotion and came running.
We caught them up to speed and Daryl started to pack a bag immediately without question.
'What we waitin' for? C'mon' he said as he led Negan and I out the front gate.
I swung on my jacket and picked up my bow and arrow from the watch tower at the gate.
I hesitated for a moment and held my locket to my lips.
'We'll find her, don't worry' Negan said as he noticed my worry.
I nodded and smiled slightly.
Carol walked after us and said 'I'm coming'.
Daryl stopped her and said 'you need to rest'.
'I'm fine' she said as her hand shook.
Daryl noticed and said 'you're not, you should go with Ezekiel back to Oceanside. You need peace now' as he hugged her.
She tried to argue but eventually nodded in agreement.
'Be safe, the hoard is still out there' Michonne said to me as she hugged me goodbye.
'Always am' I said as I held her hand.
She nodded to Negan to protect me and he saluted her jokingly.
Carol and Aaron said bye to all of us before we headed out.
The gates started to open and I heard rapid footsteps on the pavement.
We turned around and saw Connie sprinting to Daryl and she suddenly flung her arms around his neck and kissed him.
Daryl awkwardly hesitated before he wrapped his arms around her waist.
Carol and I stood there smiling as we freaked out inside.
Negan nudged my arm and said chuckling 'whew yeah'.
I chuckled at him and we turned around as we gave them some degree of privacy.
My heart was soaring, I'd never seen Daryl in love and it warmed my heart.
He kissed her goodbye and I had a massive smirk on my face.
'Stop' he said turning bright red as he strode off ahead, smiling to himself.
My smile faded as worry set back into my mind.
But I was put at ease when Negan came to walk next to me and took my hand in his as we intertwined our fingers together.
I looked down and smiled slightly at the comfort he gave me and the ring that sparkled on my finger which gave me hope for our family.

Save Me: Chapter 73 - How It Will Be
~Hey guys! Chapter 73 is out now :) I hope y’all enjoy and are excited for the last four chapters of Save Me coming up in the next couple weeks!~
Molly and Carol decide Alpha's fate while back at home, the war with the whisperers is raging. Negan makes Molly a bold proposal as Lydia comes to terms with the idea of 'family'.
Molly's POV//
Negan tossed me Lucille and said 'no exceptions' as he smiled sinisterly.
I returned that smile as Daryl and Negan held down Alpha.
'You betrayed me!' Alpha said to Negan as they forced her to kneel.
I had an enraged look in my eye as I swung Lucille in my hand and said 'no exceptions'.
I smiled up at Negan and Lucille came crashing down against Alpha's stomach.
She took such a blow that blood started gushing out of her mouth.
I smiled down at her as I was filled with vengeance.
'That's for my sister, you bitch!' I screamed as I whacked her over and over again.
I didn't finish her off though, I left that to Carol.
I dropped the bloodied bat on the ground and took a step back while Carol moved forward and took out a piece of thin wire.
'I want you to look at me while I take everything from you' she whispered to the woman as she wrapped the wire tightly around her neck and pulled.
We all heard a loud snap and blood gushed down Carol's hands and she pulled tighter and tighter, cutting her own hands on the wire but she didn't care.
Carol screamed on the last pull, snapping Alpha's head clean off her shoulders as it rolled in front of her.
Daryl held Carol to make sure she was okay after all that and put the head into a bag while Negan ran over to me.
'Molly, what she said...' he started to say frantically.
I shook my head and said in a daze, 'it doesn't matter, it's finally all over now'.
'The whisperers are still at Hilltop and Alexandria, c'mon we have leave, now' I said as Negan supported me as we walked away from the bloodied camp.
Once we got back to Alexandria, Carol held up Alpha's head to the whisperers and said 'it's over, your leader is dead, Beta is dead. Leave and never come back, or we will kill every last one of you'.
The whisperers hesitantly stopped fighting and dispersed in different directions.
They no longer had a leader, so they no longer were a group, just a bunch of mask wearing people with no cause.
They had seen our lifestyle and what civilisation was like and could be, so people like Gamma (Mary) who'd helped us, could live with us, but the rest left.
After Aaron had thanked her for her help, Mary went to live at Hilltop, where she could see her nephew Adam and be closer to her family.
As we walked through the gates, I saw Maggie standing next to Michonne as she waited for us to arrive.
Maggie looked startled and angry when she saw Negan but that somewhat changed when Daryl told her of the situation and how he'd helped kill Alpha for us.
Daryl wanted to put the head on a spike outside our gates but Maggie and I agreed that we just wanted her gone from our lives, no memory at all.
I looked at Maggie and saw her eyes firmly on Lucille which was held limply in my hands.
I turned to Negan and gave it back to him silently, more forcefully than I intended because I was angry and then walked over and hugged Maggie and Herschel who was now about nine years old.
She started to scowl but when her attention drifted to my stomach she said with a genuine smile 'oh Molly, I'm so happy for you'.
I nodded and Negan walked up behind me and slipped his hand into mine hesitantly.
'It's ours' I said looking up at Negan who smiled nervously.
Maggie frowned but then nodded and said sternly 'okay' which made me sigh in relief.
I couldn't stand the thought of Maggie being mad at me, but I knew she would be supportive of our baby because that's just who she is.
'We need to talk to Lydia' I whispered to Negan as he nodded and we walked back to the house.
We both had what that woman had said on our minds, but we didn't know how to talk about it.
Negan held my hand and stopped walking for a second.
'Molly, please talk to me?' he asked.
'I am' I replied coldly.
'Look, we don't need to talk about it okay? I get why you did it, you had to' I said sadly as I kept walking briskly.
Negan sighed and chucked Lucille against a tree in frustration as he ran after me.
I turned around and rolled my eyes saying 'don't forget your beloved bat'.
'I don't want it' he said with a stern expression as he marched towards me.
'Why not?' I asked nonchalantly but secretly I was intrigued.
'I had it to remind me of my wife, it was to make me strong but I don't need it anymore' he begged.
He manoeuvred around me until he was standing in front of me.
He lifted up my chin and kissed me passionately.
'I love you and I don't want you thinking that I wanted to have sex with her. It was either that or she would've killed me' he said seriously.
I looked up and sighed.
'I know that and I love you too. It's just when you left, it was like we were back on opposing teams again and I hated that feeling. But, I know you did it to protect me, to protect us and I love you even more for that. Just promise me that whatever happens, instead of going it alone, we do it together?' I said calmly.
Negan nodded and kissed me on the forehead.
'Marry me' he said smiling.
I looked at him in awe.
'What?' I chuckled.
'Marry me, you'll be the only one I promise' he joked.
I rolled my eyes.
'You really pick your moments you know that' I said as I walked past thinking he was joking.
I turned back around to see he wasn't walking with me and looked down to see him on one knee.
I gasped as he took out a ring from his pocket, it was white gold with a single diamond in the centre.
'Marry me Molly Chambler' he said smiling up at me.
'No 'wives', no one else, just you and me forever' he continued.
I just stared down at him in awe until my lips curled upwards into a smile.
'Yes, I will marry you' I answered happily.
I giggled as he stood up and slid the ring onto my finger and then picked me up and swung me around in his arms.
I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and kissed him sweetly.
'I love you' I whispered against his lips which made him smile.
I looked down at the ring as it sparkled in the sunlight.
'Where did you get this? It's so beautiful!' I said happily as I looked up at him.
'I had it made...back at the Sanctuary. Your buddy Eugene did it, welded metals together or some shit, I don't know how he did it but he said he enjoyed doing it' he said nonchalantly.
I raised my brows and gasped, saying 'wait, so you had this ring made all those years ago?'.
'Mhm, to be honest, I started looking for one when you first came through the gates' he chuckled as he stroked my cheek.
'Kept it in my jacket pocket since. That's why I was so damn relieved when you brought it back from the Sanctuary' he joked.
'I just wanted to wait until the time was right for both of us, when there was nothing standing in our way' he said more seriously as he pulled me close.
I hugged him and thanked him for the ring.
It felt so surreal that I could now call Negan my husband, he was no one else's, just mine.
Lydia opened the front door and when she saw us, her eyes lit up and she smiled as she ran to us both.
'You're back!' she said as she hugged both of us.
'Hey kiddo' Negan said smiling.
Lydia's smile faded when she saw everyone down the street smiling and hugging because it was finally over.
'What happened? Whisperers just left so is there peace?' Lydia asked nervously.
I looked at Negan who nodded for me to tell her.
'Lydia...your mother, she uh, she's dead, we killed her. That's why the whisperers dispersed because they have no leader anymore' I said seriously.
Lydia nodded slowly and then began to cry.
'I don't know why I'm acting like this, she never loved me, she wasn't a mom to me' she said gasping between tears.
'We had to kiddo, we didn't have a choice. She would've killed all of us' Negan said sympathetically.
Lydia hugged me as she cried into my chest.
'I know, she was a monster but she was still my mother you know?' she said softly.
I nodded and kissed her on the head.
'I know, I'm so sorry Lydia' I said nervously.
Negan moved closer and wrapped his arms around us both as we just held each other in silence.
Lydia pulled away and wiped her eyes.
'I'll be okay, I just need time alone' she said in a faux smile as she walked back into the house.
That evening...
Lydia's POV//
I had already decided that this was how it will be.
I knew that Molly and Negan loved me, but I knew it was only a matter of time before their kid was born and I would be pushed aside, like I always was with my mother, Alpha.
Now she was dead and I had nothing, no place where I felt comfortable or truly safe.
I knew that even though the war was over, some people in Alexandria would always see me as a threat so I had to leave.
I snuck out of the house in the dead of night when I knew Molly and Negan would be sleeping, packed a small bag, grabbed my wooden staff and headed for the fence.
From the back of our house, there was a clear area where no one could see you so I knew this would be the only way out.
I climbed up the fence, using metal poles slotted in the beams as steps up until I got high enough to throw my stuff over to the other side.
They made a quiet thud and as I straddled the top of the fence, I looked around to see a peaceful community which I would never see again.
I sighed and crawled down the other side and started walking.
I had no plan, no idea of where I would go, the whisperers were gone, my mother and Beta were dead, Molly and Negan would be having a family soon so I couldn't stay at Alexandria.
I had called Molly my mom and I meant it, but somehow losing my mother made me feel guilty and like I didn't belong anywhere.
I took one last look at the silver locket Molly had given me and I sighed as I pressed it against my lips.
'Goodbye' I whispered to it as I continued walking, not looking back...

Save Me: Chapter 72 - Sacrifice
~Hey guys! Chapter 72 is out now :) I hope you are having a good week and I appreciate and love you all...enjoy!~
Molly and Carol decide to team up to take down Alpha, while Negan continues to serve her. Daryl shares an unlikely alliance with someone and finally comes face to face again with Beta.
After yesterday I don't think anyone one of us slept last night.
We all were still distraught and feeling hopeless with Connie and Magna trapped in that cave, possibly dead.
I walked around the compound all night, checking on Lydia every few hours to make sure she was okay.
I saw in the dark mist of the early morning that Daryl was heading out the front gate, along with Aaron and Gabriel.
I knew he would be going back to the cave which would possibly be overrun by walkers now but he loved Connie, even though he'd never say it aloud so I understood why he did it, I just wished I could go to.
But, even I knew that going down into a cave while pregnant wasn't the best idea...
I had to do something though, otherwise I'd go insane so I talked to the one person who'd actually support and let me go after that woman, it was Carol.
She was hesitant at first at the idea of me going but she knew better than anyone how much we'd lost because of the whisperers and knew she couldn't stop me.
So, we made a plan, we'd sneak out asap while Michonne and the others were training and see if we could get a clear shot from a distance so we could stay safe.
Once we'd gotten out of the compound and had been walking for a while, we knew we were close to the border.
'Molly, you should rest' Carol said with concern.
'I'm fine, I promise. C'mon we're not far now' I said as I walked on until we were close to the camp.
We hadn't heard from Daryl for hours so Carol was starting to worry, when we suddenly got a call from Aaron.
He said that Connie and Magna were alive and they'd gotten them out of the cave before it exploded but Daryl saw Beta and ran after him.
He hadn't heard anything else since and couldn't find Daryl.
Carol freaked out at this point and said that Aaron and Gabriel should take Connie and Magna back to Alexandria, while she went on to find Daryl.
'What about me?' I asked sternly as I panted out of breath.
'Molly, this was a bad idea. I need to find Daryl, I need to see if he's okay but I also need you to get back to Alexandria. Aaron and Gabriel will meet you down that path' she said pointing in the direction back home.
I frowned but sighed saying 'you're right, I thought I could do this but it's not right'.
She smiled weakly at my agreement and ran off after Daryl as I pretended to walk home.
Once she was out of sight, I snuck through the trees and headed to the whisperer camp, knowing that Carol was heading in the opposite direction to get to the cave.
I bashed in walker's heads with Lucille as I paced quietly through the woods, until I stopped dead behind a tree as I saw Negan standing beside the woman, like he was her right hand man.
What the hell?
I didn't know whether to be happy or sad, but I guess either way my prediction was right.
Her people weren't there, not even a couple whisperers, it was just them.
I frowned in confusion, this was either a trap or she believed she was safe?
Either way, she wasn't gonna get out of this alive.
Negan's POV//
I stood next to Alpha as I tried to advise her.
'I respect a well deserved massacre, some people, they just have it coming. I get why you wanna take out Hilltop and Alexandria, it would just...I would feel good. But you know what might feel goddamn fantastic? Gettin those assholes to surrender, bend a knee. Alpha, we can get them to join us' Negan said smiling.
She just silently listened as she smiled.
~flashback~
'I, um just wanted to talk' I said as I walked up to Alpha.
'About?' she whispered.
'Well, I hear we're supposed to be keeping our eyes peeled for a spy lurkin' in the woods. I have an alternate theory to run by you. The spy you're looking for? Right here in your camp' I said confidently.
I needed to keep the heat off me and Alexandria so I baited out Gamma.
'My people know the enemy have nothing to offer except lies' she replied.
'Maybe they do. Maybe they don't. Believe it or not, I have been where you are right now. And if you don't want to end up where I am right now, I suggest you zig where I zagged' I replied.
'You and I are very different' she whispered as she started to walk away.
'I had people. I had a system. I thought they believed in it, just like you. See, the thing is, you stay king or queen long enough, with people telling you all day, every day that your shit don't stink, eventually, you start to believe it. The thing is, it still stinks' I pleaded after her.
'Who?' she asked sceptically.
'Well, based on my own personal experience, I'd say look closer to home. And, no, I am not talkin' about Frankenstein's Haemorrhoid. That big dude is clearly a goose stepper. But the little one? You see, she is close enough to you that she knows exactly where that horde was. But she guards the border, which means she's close enough to the enemy that they could've gotten to her' I said sternly, fully knowing I was right because all of Alexandria knew about Aaron talking to Gamma.
She put a knife up to my junk which made me wince.
'I will not have you sowing paranoia. If you breathe a word of this to anyone, - I will take these' she said angrily as I stepped back and fell.
Later that day...
Alpha stormed over to me and said 'You' sternly as she walked ahead.
'Looks like Mom's mad at me' I joked to another whisperer.
I got up and walked in front of Alpha through the forest.
'Keep walkin' she said as she paced behind me now.
'You know, this feels like some sort of fraternity initiation. Is that what this is? Huh? Am I gonna get my skin suit and finally get to learn the secret Whisperer handshake?' I started talking nervously.
Surely she was gonna kill me for the whole Gamma thing.
I turned around to look at her as she repeated 'eyes front'.
'Alright. You don't wanna talk? I'm down with that. We just won't talk. You know, I'm big enough to admit it, alright? I am not good with long, uncomfortable silences' I replied as I turned back around and kept walking.
'Stop here' she said sternly as I turned around.
'I said eyes front' she repeated sternly.
I closed my eyes and said 'shit'.
'Take off your clothes' she whispered as I sighed.
She was either just gonna straight up kill me or cut off my balls.
'You know what? You were right. We are different. I made myself into a monster, because that is what the world needed. I built something. I saved people. My name it meant something' I said breathing heavily.
'Turn around' she whispered.
I slowly turned around to see Alpha naked, with only her mask on.
I frowned in confusion as I said 'whoa...uh'.
'You're a crass man. I reckoned you might appreciate a crass reward' she whispered as she moved closer.
What the shit was going on?!
'A reward? For what?' I asked nervously.
'The spy. Gamma. It took courage to do what you did and I want to express my gratitude in a way that you will understand' she said as she came closer.
Usually I would've jumped at the chance but I only thought of Molly.
If I said no, she would kill me so I took one for the team.
'Wait, are you just gonna leave that mask on?' I asked jokingly.
'Does my true skin disturb you?' she asked.
'Not at all. Weirdly the opposite' I replied smiling.
'Wait. Wait. This isn't some sort of, uh, praying mantis situation, is it? You cut off my head off afterwards?' I asked as she stayed silent and came closer.
'Yeah, sorry. I can't help but notice that you didn't say no to that. Ah, you know what? Screw it' I said as she kissed me through her mask and whispered 'stop talking'.
Present day...
I was snapped out of my thoughts as I heard commotion through the forest.
Suddenly Molly was being dragged in front of Alpha by two whisperers, she struggled out of their grasp and using both knives, she killed both of them either side of her.
I knew she was gonna lunge for Alpha so I stood in front of her and forced her to kneel.
I stayed silent but just looked at her in confusion, she was about to get herself and our baby killed. '
Do you know this one?' Alpha asked me as I just looked at Molly sadly.
'No, just someone from Alexandria' I replied coolly.
I knew that if Alpha saw that we were together, she wouldn't hesitate to kill Molly, so this was the only way.
'Take that from her' Alpha said pointing to Lucille.
I frowned at Molly as I took it from her.
Where did she find Lucille?
I admired my former love and swung it over my shoulder like I used to.
Molly shot me a look of disbelief, at least my plan to make everyone believe I was on Alpha's side had worked.
That's all that kept me going knowing that Molly hated me now.
They forced Molly onto her knees as Alpha stood over her.
If she got any closer I knew exactly what I would do, it would be time for Lucille to bash in some brains.
Alpha looked at me and then at Molly and said 'kill her'.
Those words echoed through my brain as I hesitated.
Alpha suddenly realised and gasped whispering 'oh! were you together? he is good in the sack isn't he?'.
I looked away from Molly's gaze, I couldn't bear to see the look on her face.
'Is it his? Your baby? Well, mother to mother, I won't kill you...not yet' she whispered as Molly stayed silent.
I finally looked up to see Molly seething with rage and her eyes watering.
'You see, I want you alive, so you can tell the others what happened at Hilltop and Alexandria' she continued.
Molly looked up eventually and said 'what do you mean?'.
'My people are there, killing your people' Alpha replied coolly.
Molly and I were both paralysed with fear.
'Your people are weak, they don't stand a chance against us. The thing is, when you take everything from someone, you don't break someone, you make them more dangerous because now they have nothing to lose. But, I guess that's how you are now right? You know, since I took Lydia from you. Well, actually she just didn't want you. She calls me mom now, did ya know that?' Molly said sternly with a smile.
I couldn't help but be proud of her, but I restrained myself until the time was right and by the rustling in the forest, that time was fast approaching.
Carol and Daryl shot the remaining few whisperers and aimed their weapons at Alpha as they helped Molly up and moved in front of her.
'Beta's dead' Daryl said angrily which shocked Alpha as she just stared silently at them, knowing she was screwed.
'How'd you find me?' Molly whispered behind Carol.
'Aaron said you never met up with them, I knew where you would've gone' she replied.
'I should've done more than punch you last time, I won't make that mistake again' Daryl said to me angrily.
Even though I had Lucille, this wouldn't end like Glenn and Abraham.
I'd do it right this time.
I mouthed to Daryl 'now'.

Save Me: Chapter 71 - Force To Be Reckoned With
~Hey guys! Chapter 71 is out now :) I hope you all enjoy and I love you all as always~
Negan attempts to infiltrate the whisperers and gain their trust while Alexandria suffer a blow when judgement is clouded.
One month later...
Negan's POV//
After I'd passed the skin suit test, the giant walked over to me and made me walk with him back to camp, still blindfolded.
'Honestly, fellas or ladies. Kinda hard to tell underneath the outfits. I wanna join, alright? I am a joiner. Get me a damn application already. I mean, look at you guys, right? Cool-ass outfits, the whole back-to-nature paleo vibe? You are a survivalist's wet dream' I said loudly.
'Not to mention the number-one selling point no more bein' eaten by the dead. But just out of curiosity, cause it's killin' me. What do you got goin' on down low? Are you flyin' around commando-style, or do you got, like, walker long johns with the la flap?' I said loudly until I felt a blade against my throat.
'Whoa. Cool your tits there, Jolly Green Giant' I said smirking.
'Noise. Constant noise. I should just slit your throat, be done with it' the big man whispered as he pressed the blade closer.
'Okay. You know what? You're right, big man. I am sorry. I never properly introduced myself. Hey, I'm Negan. For the last eight years, I have been locked up by your enemy. So you take me to your leader, and I will spill every goddamn secret I know' I said sternly as he took off my blindfold and stopped me talking by gagging me.
Many walkers now joined us and I have to say I was a little freaked out but I guess the walker blood from earlier disguised me.
I whispered to the big man, 'Clearly, we are not jivin'. And, you know, to be honest with you, I totally understand the position you're in. You gotta be, like, the tough guy and keep everybody in line. I mean, hell, you know, I had guys just like you to keep my shit tight. Alright, maybe not just like you. Uh, hell, if I had some monster your size, things would've turned out different. Look, whether you like me or not, I will be joinin' this team, so maybe we should find a way to get along, you know, and stop pissin' on each other's boots'.
He turned to me and whispered, 'You will never be one of us. You're too loud, too weak, too full of ego'.
I scoffed and said 'I mean, it ain't ego if I really am that awesome'.
'You are a waste, and Alpha will see it' he whispered angrily.
'So cards on the table, then? Cool. I dig that. See, I'm not here for you. I am here for Alpha. So you go ahead, and you throw your little tests at me and you scowl and throw me on the ground like a five-and-dime Frankenstein. I don't give a shit. See, big man, I ain't goin' anywhere' I said smiling.
He looked at me and knifed one of his own whisperers and said 'finally, something we can both agree on. You won't be going anywhere'.
The whisperer dropped to the ground, calling all the walkers around us as the big man moved through them freely.
I looked around and saw them heading for me as I whipped out a penknife and stabbed one in the head as the blade broke off.
'Wait a minute. Did you just make a Goddamn joke? I would be impressed if I wasn't so pissed off right now' I whispered as the walkers started to overcrowd me.
I saw a log on the ground and swung it over my shoulder, smashing in their heads as I moved through.
I wasn't gonna go out by the hands of that guy or these dead motherfuckers.
I found my way back to camp and saw whisperers part for me as I walked through, marching right up to Alpha.
'I'm ready for my Goddamn skin suit. You best bring that extra-long tape measure on account of my humongous balls' I shouted.
I stood in front of her, covered in walker guts and a log over my shoulder as I said softly 'Hi. I'm Negan. We haven't formally met, but I sure as hell know who you are. And whether my reputation precedes me or not I'm all in. Whatever you want, whatever I got, it's yours'.
I knelt down in front of her in faux allegiance as she bowed down to inspect me, pulling a finger to her lips she whispered 'shh' as I smiled.
Molly's POV//
Michonne couldn't keep me from this now.
I could tell the war was getting serious because Luke and Cindy had brought their people down to Alexandria, so all our communities had a united front to fight the whisperers.
She knew that this was as much my war as hers.
We had both lost so much because of that evil woman and I wanted to kill her with my bare hands, so did Michonne, so did Carol.
I radioed Michonne for her to come talk to me and let me and Lydia out which she did eventually with much persuasion.
I told her that if someone had killed Rick, I wouldn't stop her from doing what she needed to do and that the only way I could have peace about Tara is if I killed the person responsible for her death.
That's what Negan was already doing and I needed to join him in this fight.
But, there was one more thing I needed from her that only she could give me...
I wanted Lucille.
'Where's the damn bat Michonne?' I asked sternly as she dismissed the guards and unlocked our door.
'It's gone' she said nonchalantly but I didn't believe her for a single second.
'You wouldn't have gotten rid of it, I know you so where is it?' I asked as I made her look at me.
She sighed and asked me 'why do you want it?'.
'Because, I'm gonna bash that woman's head in with it and watch her as she realises that she lost and I won' I said softly.
'Why do you need that bat, why not another weapon?' she asked more sternly this time.
'Because I wanna use it for good this time, show you that Negan's on our side now. Lucille isn't for him, it's for me, for everyone we've lost because of it and for everyone we've lost because of that woman' I said seriously as Michonne just listened.
'Why don't you use her name?' she asked confusedly.
'She doesn't deserve it, she's no Alpha, just a pretender' I answered.
'Now stop stalling, tell me where it is or I swear Michonne, I will never stop looking until I find it' I threatened.
She hesitated before she said, 'it's in my basement, under the trap door'.
I nodded and said 'thank you' as I turned to Lydia and told her to catch up on her training with Aaron while I went to find it.
Once I got into her house, I ran down to the basement, lifted up the hatch and saw it.
It was Lucille, the barbed wire, the bullet imbedded in the wood from Rosita.
I hadn't seen it since Negan had his throat slashed by Rick all those years ago.
I hesitantly reached down and picked it up, tossing it between my hands as I admired it.
I had mixed feelings that was for sure, Negan had killed Glenn and Abraham with this bat and countless others, but he wasn't that person anymore and neither was I.
But I felt strangely comfortable knowing that Negan would be in some way with me when I kill that woman.
People gasped and stared as I walked through the compound.
Their eyes flicking between my own and Lucille as I swung her around in my hand.
Once I got to the front gates, I saw that Michonne only stood there with a few others.
Where was everyone else?
'What's going on?' I said as I touched the bat on the pavement.
'A group has already gone out, you can go with the next' she said nonchalantly as she walked past me.
'What the fuck?! Giving me the bat was a damn ploy wasn't it! You just wanted me gone so that I couldn't go with the others! Fuck Michonne!' I screamed as my grip on the bat tightened.
'I know what you want okay, you wanna go out there and you don't care if you get yourself killed! You. Are. Pregnant! I lost a child alright, his name was Andre and he didn't make it and if you go out there, you will die! I know you want to kill her but please, just wait' she yelled back.
I dropped the bat on the pavement and just walked away silently until I turned around and said 'each second that passes, is another missed opportunity to kill her. I just want her dead Michonne, you know that I can do it. But, I get it, I don't want anything happening to this baby trust me, it's just hard staying here doing nothing when I could be doing something!'.
She looked at me sadly as she said 'I know, but sometimes the hardest thing is doing nothing at all. You will get your vengeance, I promise you that'.
A few hours had passed and Lydia and I were playing board games while we talked about the baby.
She was so excited and so was I, but I couldn't help but panic over where Negan was.
My walkie talkie was resting on the coffee table when it sounded, 'Molly, come in, it's important, over'.
I picked it up hastily and heard Michonne's voice on the other line.
I listened in silence as she told us what had happened.
My heart sank as I dropped the walkie talkie out of my hands uncontrollably and lowered myself with Lydia's help down onto the sofa.
'Oh my god' she said sadly as we held each other.
'I could've been there' I cried as I stroked her hair.
Apparently, while the group was out there, Carol spotted the woman and ran after her.
It was a trap, obviously Daryl and the others ran after her and they were lured into a cave.
The entrance soon filled with walkers until they were completely surrounded by a hoard, Jerry got bit on the chest as everyone tried to escape.
Most made it out alive, except for Jerry who later died and turned in the cave.
Magna and Connie were putting him down when the cave collapsed in on itself, sealing them inside.
Daryl tried to shift the rocks and scrambled for hours, digging to find Connie but he found nothing.
Michonne said that Ezekiel, Yumiko and Daryl are broken and are blaming Carol for this, though Daryl never admitted that out loud.
The group returned later that day, no one talked, just silently walked back through the gates.
'Just tell me I deserve it' Carol said crying to Daryl as Lydia and I stood there.
Daryl cried and just scowled at her as he pushed past.
A part of me blamed Carol, but the hardest part was knowing that if I'd have been there, I would have done the exact same thing.
I walked over to her and hugged her as she sobbed in my arms.
'I'm so sorry for everything' she cried as I just said 'shhh, I know'.

Save Me: Chapter 70 - Take What’s Ours
~Hey guys! The 70th chapter of Save Me is out now :) I hope you all enjoy and have a good week~
Negan makes a great sacrifice for his family while Molly deals with the consequences, her world is crumbling around her as another whisperer threat falls on Alexandria.
That night I slept like a baby, my family were safe and sound in our house, I felt like nothing could ever hurt me.
I wonder if I would have slept that well if I knew what was coming in the morning?
I awoke to find Negan's side of the bed completely empty and his clothes which usually sat on the dresser, were all gone.
Maybe he rose early to do laundry?
I furrowed my brows and groaned as I got out of bed, it was just starting to get light outside as the clock said 5:00am.
I creaked open Lydia's bedroom door, she was sleeping peacefully so I tiptoed downstairs and found a backpack gone, along with a couple of our weapons.
I was so confused, I got dressed and walked around the compound for hours, covering every square inch but there was no sign.
That was when I raised the alarm, had he left me?
Had someone taken him...killed him?
My whole body shivered at the thought as my breathing quickened, I felt like my heart would explode.
I couldn't lose him, I needed answers because I knew he would never to this to me, to us, especially now I'm pregnant.
I awoke Michonne who then told the council what happened, within minutes, people were up and about, searching and making a plan of action.
I waited back at the house and Lydia came downstairs and asked confusedly, 'what's happening mom?'.
I smiled, trying not to panic her and said 'everything's fine, just go back to bed okay?'.
She nodded sceptically and walked back upstairs as Michonne asked me to talk outside.
I burst into tears, my whole body shook with worry.
'I can't lose him Michonne! Where is he? He wouldn't leave me!' I cried as she held me.
She just held me silently and then said 'he escaped before Molly...'.
I pulled away from her and scowled, saying 'he wouldn't leave me now, I know him'.
'We've got people out looking, just try to stay calm for the baby' she said softly as I took deep breaths.
Negan's POV//
I had been walking for what felt like hours, this fucking kid Brandon helped me escape so I let him come with me.
He was one of the guards but he was also an ex-Saviour so I guess at least one fucker was loyal to me even if it did have to be this damn annoying kid.
He didn't ask questions, he just followed behind me with a spear, constantly asking me if I wanted anything or telling me about how his dad was a Saviour and how he thought I was a legend.
I couldn't bear to hear that anymore, I would've relished in a Saviour singing my praises but now it just frustrated me.
Every minute I was away from Alexandria, I thought of Molly and my family.
I thought of how she'd probably be getting up now when I saw the sunrise, how worried she'd be, I hated knowing she would feel that way but I had to do this.
With every day, Alpha and the whisperers were becoming more and more of a threat and with Molly pregnant, I had to do whatever it took to keep her safe.
I had decided this a long time ago, when Tara was killed actually, so this would always be my fate.
I needed to infiltrate the whisperers, gain Alpha's trust and then kill them all from within, never allowing them to get close to my family or the communities.
I was damn good at manipulation so I knew I had this one in the bag.
All of Alexandria would know about me 'joining' the whisperers eventually and when Molly finds out, I know she will hate me but I just hope she understand in the end, that I did all this for us.
I just wanted Brandon to leave me the hell alone and I got my wish when we came across a mom and her kid.
I wanted to help them, give them food and water, but Brandon had other ideas.
He wanted to kill them both and take their stuff, I blamed myself for that one, given how some Saviour's acted, how I myself acted.
I pissed the kid off by telling him to get lost and while I looked for more supplies for them, he killed them both.
I came back to blood all over the trees in their camp, Brandon standing there shouting 'I am Negan!'.
That wasn't what being Negan was about you asshole! I shouted in my head.
I picked up a rock and marched over to him.
With one swift blow to the head I knocked him out, with several smashes, I killed him.
~flashback~
She giggled as I cuddled behind her, stroking her bump as we talked about baby names.
'Zoe for a girl and Noah for a boy' she said softly.
I scrunched up my face, 'you sure?' I asked jokingly.
She slapped me and said 'hey! those are cute names!'.
I chuckled and pulled her closer, 'what about...Negan Jr or Molly Jr?' I asked.
She giggled, saying 'wow, so unique'.
'They're classic, like us' I said as I kissed her shoulder.
'Mhm' she sighed as I kissed her all over her face, making her squeal as she got ticklish.
Present day...
With blood all over my face and hands, I had to take a minute.
I sighed and rubbed my eyes as I thought of Molly which is what gave me the strength to carry on.
I hadn't killed a kid before and it kinda shook me.
Adults I could waste all the live long day but even though I knew I'd done the right thing, it still felt fucking awful.
I washed my face in a puddle and checked the kid's bag to see that he'd brought me my leather jacket and a knockoff Lucille.
'What the?' I asked myself as I took them out, but I knew I had to be that guy again.
I slipped on the jacket and rested the bat over my shoulder as I walked, whistling as I went.
Hours passed, It was starting to get dark as I found myself in the thick of the woods.
I didn't have a direction, I just planned on stumbling on one of them and asking them to get me the fuck in.
I started bashing in walker heads when one of them pushed me to the ground.
'What the?' I said as I turned around to see a masked man hovering over me.
'Alright you big ass freak, let's do this' I said as I stood up.
He was a whisperer, Molly had spoke of him being Alpha's right hand man or some shit so I knew he would lead me straight to her.
I surrendered and he blindfolded me, tied my hands and led me to their camp.
I saw Alpha watching me as whisperers held spears all around me.
'I'll just sit here' I whispered to them as I sat against a tree.
Alpha and the big Frankenstein lookin' fella who they called Beta were whispering about me, I gathered from Beta's expression that Alpha was gonna let me live.
I smiled to myself seeing him kneel in front of her.
'They always do that shit?' I asked one of the masked fellas.
He pointed the spear closer to my face and whispered 'respect the Alpha'.
I saluted sarcastically, knowing that Alpha was watching me the entire time.
Beta stormed over to me and hoisted me up.
'Wow there jolly green giant, no need to get handsy' I said as he pushed me through the woods.
'How long you and the boss lady been together? Is this, like, a Beta-with-benefits situation? Do you slide her a little omega on the side?' I asked sarcastically.
'You'll respect the Alpha, or I end you where you stand' he whispered angrily as he pulled out a knife.
I raised my eyebrows and said 'I didn't mean to offend you. I mean, hell, you keep things professional, me and my girl did that for a while so I respect that'.
'Think I was just thrown off by the whole kneelin' thing. Not that there's anything wrong with the whole kneelin' thing. I mean, that has tickled the dicks of many a fine man over the years. Me, myself, I used to have people kneelin' for me all the live long day, so I do understand the benefits that sort of shit provides. Just actually never done the deed myself. And I admire your self-restraint, and I'm sayin' this totally respectfully, but there is somethin' about that whole bald-head thing that just tightens my britches' I said loudly just to test him.
He just grunted and kept walking.
'You will be tested, you will give us what you know' he whispered as he introduced me to the tasks he had in mind.
'Okey dokey' I said smiling as he handed me a shovel.
'Start digging' he ordered as I just shrugged and dug in the ground.
It took hours, I was panting out of breath afterwards.
I had no clue what this shitty test was but then he made me skin a walker with a pen knife and kill a boar and cook it in the pit I dug.
At the end I stood there looking smugly at my handy work as the big man just threw down his shovel in anger.
Molly's POV//
It had been over a day since Negan disappeared.
The sun was going down as I stood looking out onto the forest from the guard tower at the front gate.
I stood with my arms folded and scanned the area with binoculars.
I just wanted to know he was okay, any news was better than no news.
'Molly...' Lydia said softly, trying not to disturb me.
I didn't respond, only keeping my attention firmly on the entrance, seeing if Negan would be found.
Each radio to Michonne said they found nothing and couldn't go into the whisperer's territory to look otherwise there would be more conflict.
'Molly, Michonne wants to talk to you' she said as she stood at the bottom of the ladder.
I tried to stay focussed but gave up and sighed as I came down to meet her.
I nodded to Lydia and asked her to go back to the house as it was getting dark and that I'd be home soon.
I walked to Michonne's house and she told me that Negan could've gone into the whisperer territory.
'No...No, Michonne. If he went there then he-' I said as I started to panic.
'Alpha wouldn't kill him, not when he's useful to her. He knows us, he know Alexandria, he could tell them things so they have the advantage' she said sternly.
'He would never want to harm us, or our baby or Lydia' I said angrily as I paced around the living room.
I spun around when I realised.
'What if he went there of his own accord, but not for what you think...what if he's playing them? He could infiltrate, get close and then destroy them from the inside?' I said confidently.
Michonne looked at me like I was crazy, but then it started to sink in for her.
'It's possible' she said slowly.
'Of course it is! You really think he would harm Lydia or Judith by siding with them?', this was when she said 'he did save her in the storm, he saved Lydia too'.
I nodded happily.
'Exactly, but they'll think he's joined them and we need to prepare for the backlash' I said sternly as I pointed outside.
That night I slept better, I still didn't know Negan's plan for sure, but I had faith that he was alive and working for us.
The way that Michonne had acted earlier made me think that she was on my side, I should've known she would play me.
When Lydia and I woke, we went downstairs to discover that we were both on house arrest.
'What the hell is going on?' I said as Michonne and Daryl walked over.
'I'm sorry Moll, we just wanna be sure...' Michonne said softly as Daryl looked at me like I'd committed a crime.
I turned to him and said 'what is this?!'.
'Just makin' sure that no one leaves' he said as Michonne added 'it's for your safety'.
'Safety my ass, you think that we're in on this with Negan don't you? I bet you think we helped him escape as well?' I said almost laughing.
'I won't do it, I'm going out there, I'm going after him' I said smiling as I barged past them and Lydia followed me.
'Don't take another step' Daryl said angrily.
'Or what? I know you hate me for Negan, but you know me, you really think I'd do something like this?' I said tearfully.
'I don't know' he said looking down.
'C'mon Molly, you're pregnant, you can't go out there. I promise once we find him, you'll be released' Michonne pleaded.
I just nodded and shot them a stern look as I walked back into the house.
'I'll never forget this, this is my fight too' I said sadly as I locked the door shut as Lydia came with me inside.
The next day...
I didn't think it then but it was better we were locked inside that day with a killer in Alexandria.
Michonne radioed me to keep me up to date while we were locked inside of what was going on, she said that Siddiq had been murdered and Rosita had found that it was Dante, one of our doctors.
When Gabriel and Rosita interrogated him, he said he was a whisperer spy and had been watching us for months and reporting back to Alpha.
Rosita was devastated and I couldn't even be there for her, though I knew what she needed to do.
Gabriel and Rosita both killed Dante together for murdering their friend.
Siddiq had been there for me, he'd helped me so much with my pregnancy and now I felt completely lost.
I sobbed on the sofa with Lydia when we heard the news but I was filled with rage that Siddiq's murderer was a whisperer who had gotten into our community.
So I felt that now more than ever I was needed out there and not stuck in here.

Save Me: Chapter 69 - Back To You
~Hey guys! Chapter 69 is out today :) I can’t believe there are only eight chapters left of Save Me :0 Love y’all and have a good week~
Molly is further along in her pregnancy and is now one month away from giving birth, but with tensions heating up in Alexandria, will this put a strain on her wellbeing? With Molly's happiness on full display, Michonne makes a revelation while she discusses with Ezekiel what they have both lost.
Six months later...
I slowly rolled like a giant marshmallow out of bed and supported my back with my hand as I stood up and stretched.
Negan was getting dressed for the day as I went to stand in front of the mirror and admired my large baby bump.
I smiled as I stroked my stomach over my large t shirt.
Negan chuckled, saying 'look at you!' as he walked up slowly behind me and wrapped his hands over mine.
He kissed my cheek sweetly and said 'I love you' as he nuzzled into my neck.
I giggled as I rested my head against his.
'I have a council meeting so could you do dinner for Lydia after training?' I asked as I kissed him sweetly and walked over to get dressed and picked up my gun.
The holsters were too far down to bend so I didn't need to wear them but I took my gun just in case.
Negan frowned and said 'whatcha doin over there?' as he saw the gun.
I rolled my eyes and said 'alright mr protective, it's just in case'.
He walked over and placed it back down onto our chest of drawers.
'Just because I'm pregnant, doesn't mean I still can't handle myself. If anything happens to our baby...' I said worriedly as Negan held my hand and said sternly 'If anyone tries to harm you or our baby, I will kill them'.
I nodded, saying 'I know, but promise me you'll be safe too', he smiled 'always am'.
He walked me to the meeting and kissed me goodbye as I smiled back at him.
I loved how protective he was being over us, I thought as I stroked my stomach.
He was protective of me before, but this was next level and I was loving it.
Negan and I weren't so much worried about people in Alexandria harming our baby, but with the war getting closer and me being due in a month, we were on red alert.
I thought that out of everyone, Rosita would be the least supportive but she became one of the ones I relied on most nowadays.
It was like this before with us, before Negan, but I never thought we would get to have this again.
She had had a baby in this walker filled world, so she knew what it was like.
She showed me great recipes for pregnant women, natural creams and potions for sore skin and muscles.
We were finally getting our friendship back and it felt wonderful.
Lydia's POV//
After training, I went straight to the laundry place, knowing that Negan was working there.
I felt hesitant because of my attack which still loomed over me in my mind, but I knew nothing could hurt me with Negan there.
I sat down and starting prodding the earth with a stick, looking for worms.
Negan came round with a wheelbarrow of washing and smiled, saying 'hey kiddo'.
I replayed in my mind all of the horrible things those three had said to me months ago and why they did it.
'What's up?' Negan asked as he saw my sad expression.
I raised my eyebrows and said 'just trying to clear my head'.
'Gage and his friends started again today, even after they were punished' I said sadly.
Gage had made sure no one was looking and put a brown bag over this head like a whisperer mask just to torment me.
I wanted to tell Molly, but she already has a lot going on with the baby.
'Again? Jesus' he said sadly.
'You said to kill em with kindness, that's not doing shit now is it?' I replied angrily.
'I did say that, but that was before he attacked you, so now I'm saying screw em. Tell Molly, she'll deal with them for ya. I would, but if I did, I'd be right back in that cell' he said sternly.
I nodded, saying 'they've had their last chance, I just want them gone'.
'Well, then knowing you two badasses, they'll be long gone' he said smiling.
I chuckled, feeling much better about the situation until I got serious again.
'I don't want Molly anywhere she could get hurt' I said seriously.
Negan nodded and said 'me neither kid, that goes for you too. I don't want either of you close to this when it happens, get one of the council to do it'.
'What are you two whispering about?' Molly said jokingly as she came over.
I looked at Negan and he nodded for me to tell her.
Once I explained everything she had a rage filled look on her face. I had to admit, even I was scared.
'Should've brought the gun' she said to Negan in annoyance.
'Molly please don't do this, get someone else to' I pleaded but her mind was made up.
She explained to Michonne but because she disagreed, Molly couldn't kill them.
I wanted them dead, I had fantasised about it for a long time but I couldn't risk Molly getting hurt in all this.
Molly sighed, ordered Gabriel and Aaron to take Gage and the other ones who'd bullied me and banish them from Alexandria.
They kicked and put up a fight but there would be 'no exceptions' as Molly called it as she walked me back home.
'I should've done that sooner Lydia, I'm sorry' she said as she hugged me.
'Thank you for doing it now' I replied happily as I even felt myself breathing a little easier.
I was glad to know that the others were also on my side now.
I pulled away and asked if I could feel Molly's baby bump.
She smiled and said 'yes' as she placed my hand gently.
I felt a kick against my hand and gasped.
'She likes you' Molly said softly, 'is that your big sister?' Molly cooed at the bump.
I smiled.
'How do you know it's a girl?' I asked confusedly.
She looked down and said 'I don't, but I can almost sense it'.
'I'm your sister Lydia' I whispered to the bump as I felt another kick.
I looked up at Molly in excitement as she stroked my hair.
'You'll be the best sister ever' she said softly as I smiled.
Negan came over to us and said 'is it all finished?'.
Molly told him what happened and he smiled, 'no exceptions' as she repeated the same thing.
They both hugged me as Negan and I stroked Molly's stomach.
'Mom says it's a girl' I said to Negan as I listened to the kicking.
Negan chuckled, saying 'did she now?'.
Molly giggled and said 'she did, I have a feeling...then we'll have the two best girls in the world'.
Negan smiled, saying 'how'd we get so damn lucky?' as he kissed Molly's forehead, then mine, then the baby bump.
'Alright, what do my girls want for dinner? Spaghetti?' he said with a raised eyebrow at Molly.
She rolled her eyes and chuckled saying 'fine, you can have your  favourite'.
Negan said 'yes!' as he fist bumped the air and continued 'last one to the house has to wash up!' as he raced me.
Molly walked slowly behind as she shouted, 'I'm pregnant, you asshole!'.
Negan and I giggled as he ran back and lifted Molly in his arms to carry her to the door.
'Jesus Christ!' he yelled as he carried her breathlessly.
Molly chuckled as he continued, 'you are-' as she shot him a stern look making him change his words, 'you are light as a feather darlin'.
In that happy moment, I had forgotten about my past, my mother.
All I knew now were my true parents, the ones who loved me and protected me and now that I would have a sister, I would protect my family to the end.
Michonne's POV//
After the exile of Gage, Marcus and Tom, I needed to leave the compound to clear my head.
I knew that Ezekiel was on his way back to Alexandria after spending time with Carol at Oceanside, but I didn't plan to meet him unexpectedly on the bridge we'd since repaired all those years after Rick.
I still went to that bridge to feel close to him, like he was with me.
That was where we found his gun so a part of me thought that one day, he would reappear here too.
I looked up to see Ezekiel standing there on the edge of the bridge.
He looked like he was about to jump so I ran to him and begged him to come back down.
After Carol and Henry, his kingdom as well, I knew why he was up there.
'I'm not going anywhere' I said quietly as I reached for his hand, he grabbed it eventually and hugged me tightly.
'It's okay, It's okay' I said softly as we hugged, he pulled away and kissed me suddenly.
I furrowed my brows in confusion but kept my eyes closed.
'I'm sorry' he said startled by the whole thing as he collapsed to his knees and cried.
'I had a Kingdom, a reign and what did I do with it? I failed. Benjamin, Shiva, Henry and then the Kingdom and Carol' he said sadly.
'I don't even know how to talk to her anymore' he continued as he looked down.
'I didn't know what I was gonna do when I came out here' he said looking out onto the water below us.
I sighed and looked down.
'I've been here before, not here. But where you are, a long time ago when I was on my own. I was in a dark place, eventually I just gave up' I said sadly.
'What did that feel like?' he asked.
'It feels like a mask, till it doesn't' I said smiling.
'My old mask saved my life, but I haven't been there for so long' he said now looking at me.
I nodded and said tearfully 'somehow, it's harder the second time around, especially when you get used to having someone there, that partner in crime'.
'And yet I smile' he said softly in an air of hope.
Somehow seeing Molly with her family brought back all the pain of losing Rick, I just wanted to see his face one last time, to say goodbye, but I never got to.
It's like I can feel him still with me but I can't touch him.
It always happens that way, we always go back to our first loves, Molly with Negan and me with Rick.
I know that somehow, someway, I will see him again...

Chapter 68 - This Is Love
~Hey guys! Chapter 68 is out now :) I hope you enjoy and thank you, as always, for supporting me on this journey~
Molly reveals to Negan the secret she has been keeping while she wrestles with other people's opinions. Lydia and Molly find a new level to their relationship as Lydia comes to terms with what Molly's secret will mean for her.
A month later...
I held this secret close to my chest for almost a month.
I had told no one but Siddiq and everyday I found myself close to telling Negan but never able to make the words come out.
The morning sickness was still awful, every single morning I would run to the bathroom while Negan and Lydia were asleep and I would hurl into the toilet.
Siddiq gave me some herbal teas and medication that supposedly suppressed the sickness which helped slightly but it was getting to the point where I could no longer hide it.
Siddiq told me that I must have been around seven weeks pregnant and that Michonne had been asking him about me because of all my visits to the hospital.
Negan didn't have a clue though because from the field where he worked, the hospital couldn't be seen so I could slip in and out relatively quietly.
I knew I had to let people know now, even though I dreaded the reactions they would have.
I held my hand to my stomach instinctively and when I registered what I was doing and that I was walking where people could see me, I swiftly put my arm down and checked to see that no one was watching.
I smiled at people as I walked past and then I saw Negan, crouched down and tending to the vegetables.
'Hey darlin' he said sweetly as he looked up.
I inhaled nervously and said 'hey, can we talk?' as I nudged my head for him to follow me back to the house.
He nodded with a confused look as to why I was acting weird.
'You know, I can't have sex right now because I'm at work' he whispered jokingly as he chuckled.
I let out a small laugh with a smile as I ushered him inside as we stood in front of each other.
'Lydia's at training, right?' I asked anxiously as Negan nodded 'mhm'.
'Something's up...' he said questioningly as he gazed at me with a confused expression.
I smiled and looked down as I twiddled my thumbs.
'I have to tell you something, but I need you to promise me that you won't say anything until I'm finished' I said seriously.
Negan chuckled and said 'alright'.
I took a deep breath and stopped myself from shaking as I just bit the bullet and said it.
'I'm pregnant. About seven weeks actually, but I just wanted to be certain that there wouldn't be any complications before I got your hopes up and I know that we haven't ever talked about this but it's happened so...' I said hastily as I barely stopped for breath.
I looked down the entire time, too nervous to see what his reaction would be.
He was silent for what felt like a lifetime after I stopped talking and that was when I looked up to see him smiling with tears in his eyes which made me tear up too.
I wiped my eyes and chuckled out the words 'say something'.
'You told me not to interrupt you' he said jokingly as he smiled widely and a tear rolled down his cheek which made me roll my eyes as I giggled.
He started to cry as he stepped towards me and pulled me into his arms as he cradled my head against his.
'I love you so damn much' I said breathlessly in between tears.
I looked up at him as he held me close and said 'I love you'.
'We're having a baby! I'm gonna be a father!' he shouted happily as he cupped my face in his hands which made me giggle.
He dropped to his knees and lifted my shirt, kissing my stomach gently as he rested his head against it.
'I never thought that I would get to be a father, fuck I'm so excited!' he said smiling as he stood back up.
We pressed our heads together and closed our eyes as we felt more connected than ever before.
'We're gonna be a family!' I said smiling as he smiled and pulled me closer as he kissed me passionately.
I pulled away hesitantly, not wanting this moment to end when I panicked.
'What will we tell people, what will we tell Lydia?' I asked.
Negan nodded seriously and said 'we tell people that we're happy and just hope they're supportive, if not, fuck em'.
I chuckled, saying 'I think most will be happy for us but we have to prepare for some people who won't like it, we'll just give them time'.
He chuckled and kissed me gently.
'You see, compromise, that's why we're such a great team' he replied.
I smiled and asked 'do you think Lydia will be okay with it?'.
Negan hesitated but said 'she's a great kid, she's part of our family so as long as she knows that we love her just as much, I think she'll be okay'.
I nodded and said 'you're right'.
'I know' he replied cockily as he nudged his nose against mine and smiled.
'Go on, you've got work to do mister' I said happily as I watched him leave.
He saluted sarcastically and said 'yes mam' as he smiled and walked out the door.
Michonne and the others had been back at Alexandria for a few weeks now and now that I'd told Negan, Michonne was next because Negan and I wanted to tell Lydia together.
I found Michonne walking through the compound as I said 'hey' as she smiled back.
'Can I have a word?' I asked as we walked out of earshot.
I smiled, reflecting on how happy Negan and I were as I said softly 'I'm pregnant'.
She looked stunned as she said 'oh Molly, that's wonderful news!'.
I smiled and hugged her, saying 'thank you, I knew you'd be supportive'.
Her smile faded when the 'Negan question' popped into her mind.
'What about Maggie?' she asked sadly.
I frowned in confusion, 'what about Maggie?' I replied.
'Because of Negan, her baby had to grow up without a father, what will she think of your-' I stopped her.
'Maggie's at the Commonwealth with her son and so many wonderful supportive people. I think about Glenn every damn day and I hate that it happened, but I'm happy and so is Negan. You have a family Michonne, I didn't after Tara and now I've been blessed with this wonderful miracle' I ranted.
She sighed and nodded, saying 'I am happy for you Molly, you know I'd do anything for you. But, this won't be easy, even with my support'.
'I know, but I need to be sure that you're 100% behind us' I said sternly as she embraced me and said 'I am, I promise'.
I had asked Michonne to make people aware of the situation as I told those closest to me about my pregnancy, but just like every piece of information in this community, it spreads like wildfire.
Without my knowledge, it had somehow spread to Lydia's ears and she avoided me like the plague.
'Lydia? Is everything alright?' I asked later in the day as I prepared to tell her.
'I'm fine' she said coolly as she walked past me and started to walk out of the compound.
'Where are you going?' I asked with concern as I followed her.
'Away from here and all the lies!' she yelled as she knocked down a walker outside the gate.
I realised there and then that she knew.
'Lydia! Stop!' I yelled as she turned slowly around.
'I was going to tell you...I just didn't want you to be upset' I pleaded as she started to cry.
'Well it's good that I'm leaving anyway, you'll only have room for one child and no one ever picks me over anything so I get it!' she yelled.
I sighed.
'Lydia, just because I'm going to have a baby, does not mean that I will love you any less. Negan and I love you as our own daughter and that will never change. You could have a little sister or brother' I said happily as I smiled.
Lydia looked down sadly as I walked closer to her, knowing that this was the moment I'd been waiting for.
I crouched down so we were at eye level and took out of my pocket slowly, Tara's locket.
I teared up to see it in my hands and Lydia knew what it was instantly.
'Tara's locket' she said in awe as she wiped her eyes.
I smiled at how surprised she looked.
'I want it to be yours, so that we are forever bonded. There's no getting rid of me now' I said chuckling through tears as I fastened the clasp around her neck.
She opened the locket to reveal a picture of Tara and I and on the other side she took a small letter out of her pocket, folded it inside and closed it shut.
My eyes widened as I smiled, asking 'is that the letter I wrote you?'.
She nodded and lept into my arms as I held her.
'I love you mom' she said instinctively without even processing what she just said.
I raised my eyebrows and gasped as I smiled.
'I love you too sweetheart' I replied as I stroked her hair.
She had called me mom.
I couldn't believe it, how did I ever get so lucky to have such a wonderful partner and now two children.
This was certainly the light in my life that I'd been waiting for...

Save Me: Chapter 67 - Prove It
~Hey guys! Chapter 67 is out now :) I’ll be making another master list (part 3) when i’ve posted the last chapter (chapter 77) I hope you enjoy and love y’all always~
Molly finds herself strangely unwell as she leads Alexandria and Michonne makes a shocking revelation to Cindy during training.
Michonne's POV//
We had stayed at Oceanside for a few days now and our training was coming along nicely, although Judith was better at teaching than I was.
It felt good to have Daryl, Connie and Kelly here and I knew that Daryl was here for Carol but either way it felt good to have support.
Molly was leading Alexandria as well as she always did though I can't say I was completely thrilled to see Negan out and about, but she was right, the past is in the past for a reason, it's our future we should be focussing on.
With that said, today is the day that Carol comes back from her boat.
She promised to come back once every few months to see everyone but said that it was better for her out there rather than on the shore, which I understood.
Carol waved to us all happily as we stood at the dock waiting for her.
We all cheered and smiled as we saw her, Daryl lifted her down and hugged her tightly while Ezekiel just stood there awkwardly.
Even I was trying to get him to at least say something.
'Welcome home' he said in faux happiness.
Carol smiled slightly and said 'thanks' as she walked with us back to the main camp at Oceanside.
I watched on as I saw everyone playing on the beach between training sessions.
Judith and RJ chased Daryl's dog while Connie and Kelly made sandcastles.
I smiled to myself to see everyone so content and as much as I tried to stay happy, I couldn't help but think of Rick and how we could've been a family at the beach.
I forced a smile as Judith looked my way happily as she said, 'look mom!' as she pointed to the sandcastle.
I laughed and said 'I see it, great job you guys!'.
While everyone's attention was elsewhere, I suddenly clocked a snarling sound from the trees.
I turned around hastily and drew out my katana as I paced forward out of everyone's line of sight to check it out.
Three walkers came through but I chopped them all down in one.
I thought it was over until I heard, 'walkers!' from Cindy and I ran back to the beach to see over thirty of them heading towards us.
'Now!' I yelled as their training kicked in and everyone sprang to formation with their shields to protect themselves and the group.
They parted and Daryl threw a hatchet knocking two of them down as the rest used spears.
I stood in front of Judith and RJ as I held them behind me as I struck them down.
Judith protested but I wasn't taking any risks.
It only took us a few minutes to kill them all and our training had clearly worked.
I shouted 'great job guys!' as everyone congratulated everyone.
'We can do this' Cindy said as she patted me on the back.
I smiled and nodded, repeating 'we can do this'.
She continued breathlessly, asking 'how's Molly doing?'.
'She's better, she uh, she's healing' I replied.
Cindy nodded sadly, saying 'I wish I knew how to do that...How did she do it?'.
I sighed and put my katana back in its holder.
'She found love in those around her. A girl named Lydia, she looks after her and Negan has been helping her through it too' I said hastily, so I wouldn't have to say it again.
Cindy looked at me in first confusion then anger.
'What?!' she said loudly.
'The Saviours killed our brothers and fathers and she's with their leader?!' Cindy shouted which made Daryl look over in concern.
'He's changed. I know, trust me, I never thought I would ever say that but he saved my daughter's life, saved Lydia too. The Saviour's are gone now, they're in the past' I said softly.
Cindy shook her head and said, 'they killed her sister's girlfriend and she's one of them, how could Molly do this?'.
I got angry and defended Molly.
'She's made mistakes, but she's happy and I saw all of what she went through. I don't doubt that losing Tara was hell for you, but that was her sister, decapitated by the whisperers. So, If she needs to be with those who love her, then so be it' I replied.
Cindy nodded and said softly, 'you say he's changed, I see that when I believe it, but Tara never judged anyone, she trusted me when she first came here so for her, I'll keep my mouth shut'.
Molly's POV//
At first when I woke it felt like any other morning.
I went to the radio in Michonne's office and spoke to everyone at Oceanside to see how things were going when Aaron burst in.
'I'll speak to you later okay? Okay, bye' I said to Michonne as I turned to Aaron and asked him to come on in.
He smiled slightly and sat down, rubbing his legs nervously.
'What's up?' I asked sceptically.
'I have to tell you something' he said hesitantly which made me worried.
I stayed silent and nodded to let him continue.
'I have been talking to a whisperer' he said quietly.
'What?' I asked calmly but also confused.
'She is Alpha's third in command, her name is Gamma or Mary and her nephew is Adam, the baby that Connie saved at Hilltop. She wants to see him' he said slowly.
I paused and then said sternly 'absolutely not'.
'Molly please, hear me out' he begged as he shifted closer in his chair.
'I don't trust her either but she has information on the whisperers' he pleaded.
'Why would she give that away?' I asked in confusion.
'She hates Alpha, she got her sister killed and now all she has is her nephew. All this whisperers we're brainwashed into thinking that communities like ours couldn't survive but we're proof and she sees that now' he said softly.
I still shook my head.
'Under no circumstances are you to talk to her again, she is still a threat to us' I said seriously.
'Lydia was a threat, until she wasn't' he replied.
I looked at him warningly like one more push and he would be punished.
'That's different, 'Gamma' or whatever the hell her name is, is third in command. Lydia never wanted any part of them' I said angrily as I suddenly felt my stomach churn.
'Plus, we don't even know this w-' I started to say as I felt myself about to be sick.
I ran out of the room and only heard Aaron say 'Molly?' in the distance as I sprinted down the hall to the bathroom.
I pushed open the door, locked it shut and hurled straight into the toilet bowl.
My stomach tightened and felt like it was on fire as I continually wrenched for what felt like hours.
I rinsed my mouth in the sink and looked up into the mirror to see my skin white as a sheet.
Fuck, was I ill?
Could I die from this?
I felt like I was gonna pass out so I just lay on the cold bathroom floor as I gathered my strength.
A loud knock at the door, followed by a 'Molly? You okay?' occurred.
I knew it was Lydia's voice so Aaron must have went to fetch her, probably thinking it was 'women' problems.
I chuckled to myself as I realised how awkward Aaron must have been asking Lydia for help when the realisation hit me.
I stood up and said 'yeah, yeah I'm fine just...uh trapped wind' to which Lydia replied 'okay? If you're sure'.
I looked at my reflection in the mirror as I held my stomach and gasped.
Shit, my period was late.
I scrambled through the cupboards looking for medical supplies, there were only distilled water and band aids.
I chugged some water, washed my face to bring some of the colour back and flushed the toilet.
Lydia was waiting outside the door, so I acted as normal as possible.
'Hey, you okay?' she asked.
I giggled, 'Yeah of course, I just need to go see Rosita for a second and I'll meet you back home, okay?' I said as I ran past her.
'Uh okay' she said sceptically as she turned in the other direction and went to see Negan before they went home.
Shit Negan!
What if I was pregnant?
Would Negan hate me?
Would this ruin everything?
I raced to Siddiq's and looked behind me to see Lydia watching confusedly.
That's why I told her I was going to see Rosita, because I could get away with seeing Siddiq there as well.
I knocked on the door and Siddiq thankfully answered.
'Hey Molly' he said happily.
'Hey, can I come in?' I asked nervously.
'You look pale, everything okay?' he asked worriedly.
I just nodded and whispered 'I need your help only if this is confidential'.
He nodded, saying 'of course'.
I walked into a room where he kept most of the medical supplies not in the hospital.
I mean I could have just broke into the hospital and stole a pregnancy test but then it would become a huge thing and this needed to be kept on the down low.
I sighed and said 'I need a pregnancy test'.
He raised his eyebrows and started looking for one frantically, saying 'okay'.
I rolled my eyes.
'Aren't doctors supposed to be non-judgemental, you're kinda letting down the team big guy' I said sarcastically as he smiled.
'It's Negan's?' he asked quietly and I just nodded.
'You can't say anything, I might not even be pregnant' I said as I swiped it out of his hand and ran to their bathroom.
I peed quickly on the stick and waited for the lines to show.
I shook anxiously as I begged time to go faster and then it appeared.
Two clear lines.
I audibly gasped and covered my mouth with my hand.
Tears rolled down my face but I couldn't work out whether those were happy or sad yet, that all depended on Negan's reaction.
I took a deep breath and walked back out to see Siddiq standing there nervously.
'Well?' he asked.
I hesitated and then said 'I'm going to be a mom'.
He congratulated me and embraced me gently as he smiled.
'Are you happy?' he asked slowly as I nodded.
'I am, I just don't know whether this is something that Negan wants, we never talked about this before. I guess, we both just never thought that it would happen' I said distractedly as I said goodbye and roamed the compound in a daze.
How the hell could I tell him something like this?

Save Me: Chapter 66 - What Is Left
~Hey guys! Chapter 66 is out now :) Thank you to all of you who have been reading Save Me from the start or have just joined our family now, I love you all!~
Molly finds herself protecting what is left and discovers the lengths she will go to keep the ones she cares about safe, while Negan asks Molly a question that hasn't been discussed in a long time.
A day had passed and I hadn't seen Negan or Lydia.
I waited for hours outside the cell, just praying that she would choose us.
If she wanted to leave, I would let her because I love her but I also just want her to be safe and I will get her to that place wherever it may be.
Gabriel brought her food three times a day but she refused to see me.
It was my fault that this happened to her so I understood why but it still stung like a bitch.
From sitting on the step outside the cell, I could clearly see the front gates and I would watch them religiously, just hoping that Negan would come back soon.
I knew that they were going far out and that integrating him into our community was key but I still worried about him.
Though I knew he was more than capable of handling himself out there, even without Lucille.
I always wrote Lydia little notes on small pieces of paper about all the ways in which she is strong just to remind her when she felt herself questioning it.
Today, I wrote another and posted it through the cell window, in between the bars as I heard it drop to the concrete floor.
I didn't know if she read them, but the sentiment was still there that I cared about her and that others did as well.
I sighed and started to stand up and walk home as it was getting dark when out of the corner of my eye I saw the gates slide open slowly.
I smiled and said 'thank god' as I ran down to the gates and jumped into Negan's arms.
He was covered in walker blood, so was Aaron.
I didn't ask what happened out there but I could tell by Negan's expression that something bad went down.
He propped me down gently and smiled as I said seductively 'c'mon let's go home, I have a treat for you'.
I grabbed his hand and made him follow me to the house.
Once we were inside, I pushed him against the wall as I kicked the door shut with my foot and crashed my lips against his.
He smirked as he burst into action, taking control of the kiss as his hands travelled up my waist until they landed on my jaw.
His lips tasted sweet and soft against mine but I could feel his hesitation like he was only doing this for me.
I moved us off the wall and manoeuvred over to the couch so I could straddle him.
He smiled gently and wrapped his arms around my waist as he sat up to hold me closer.
I teased him and stood up slowly as I hovered over him, planting a quick kiss on his lips before I started to slowly undress.
His smile faded and he grabbed my hand pulling me gently back to the couch.
I frowned and asked softly, 'what is it?'.
'I'm sorry, I want nothing more than to screw your goddamn brains out, truly' he said smirking which made me chuckle.
'But?' I asked slowly.
'But, there's something pressing on my mind' he replied.
I nodded and said, 'alright, what is it?'.
He looked down sadly and asked 'do you hate me for what I did to Glenn and Abraham?'.
I raised my eyebrows and looked down as I hesitated giving him a reply.
'I forgave you' I replied softly, barely believing it myself.
'It's not the same, do you hate me?' he asked again as I avoided his gaze.
'No, but I wanted to. I hated myself for not hating you, I felt like I owed it to my friends to hate you but I just couldn't. Every time that they would tell me that you were evil, I never saw you that way, even when I went to the Sanctuary' I said hesitantly.
'When I left you, I was heartbroken because I hated myself, not you. It killed me that you killed two people who were close to me, but the part that hurt the most was that I understood why and that if I was in your position, I would've done the same thing. It made me believe that I wasn't a good person, but maybe there is no good or bad in this world, just people who do whatever it takes to survive' I said softly.
He listened to every word until he finally understood and nodded as he wrapped an arm around me as I snuggled closer.
'I never slept at the Sanctuary, not until you. Maybe I got a few hours but never fully. I used to drink until the morning and then get straight back to work because being alone in my thoughts would haunt me. I never let myself stop or think, I just did what was necessary at the time for my people to survive. I only became a monster because that's what the world needed. I thought I needed to stop caring to be a great leader, but turns out I was very wrong. I regret what I did now, I wish I could take that pain away for these people, for you because I'm not that same guy anymore. I feel like myself again, just new and improved' he said softly as he leant his head against mine.
I reached up and kissed his cheek as he smiled.
'I don't think you're improved, I think it's always been in you' I said.
He chuckled, saying 'well, that's thanks to you Molly, you did that' as he kissed my forehead and stroked my hands.
I smiled and said softly 'I love you'.
'I love you too' he replied happily as he held me closer.
The following day...
I stood on the terrace, looking out onto the compound and over the fields as I oversaw the work.
I was in my own thoughts when I heard footsteps behind me and I turned around briskly.
It was Lydia.
She walked up hesitantly and came to stand next to me as we both watched the world go by.
'Hi' she said quietly as I said the same at the same time.
We both giggled and I started to apologise when she said 'I'm sorry Molly, you were trying your best to protect me and you didn't deserve my ungratefulness. I guess being here, being with you and Negan reminded me that the parents I had were gone and that my mother didn't love me'.
I just shook my head and said 'there's nothing to forgive' as I pulled her into a hug as I rested my head on hers.
'I want this, I wanna live here, with you and Negan because I love you both' she said softly which made me tear up.
'I love you too' I replied as I held her tightly.
'Oh, I almost forgot, I had this made for you' I said excitedly as I grabbed the wooden stick from my bedroom.
It had nunchucks on the ends and spiked edging for walkers.
Lydia's eyes lit up as she stared in awe at it.
'For me?' she asked happily.
I nodded, 'mhm, all yours. I even engraved your name on the side' I said pointing it out as we smiled.
'Do you like it?' I asked happily.
'I love it, thank you' she said.
'Can I go train with it?' she added.
'Of course, go see Aaron, he'll give you some tips' I said smiling as she ran out the house squealing with excitement which made me laugh.
Later on in the day, Rosita stopped by to talk.
She wanted to apologise for the way she acted about Negan and swore she just wanted me to be happy and safe.
We talked about our families, Rosita's daughter Coco and her boyfriend Gabriel and of course Negan and Lydia.
The topic of Negan was kept brief for obvious reasons as we both didn't wanna fight anymore, we had been for years and it was exhausting.
It was time to just finally support each other and not judge.
Speaking of judgement, I asked her about Eugene.
He was playing a large role in helping Rosita with Coco, sometimes even more so than Siddiq or Gabriel (the father and the boyfriend).
Rosita told me that it was complicated, because she had feelings for him and he did for her but she loved Gabriel and would never hurt him.
The fact that she opened up to me about this stuff, made me realise that through thick and thin, we could fight like families do but we would always have each other's back.
I couldn't tell her anymore than she already knew in her heart and that was to be with whoever she found herself gravitating to.
Not just sexually or romantically, but practically, who was the person she wanted to share things with?
That's how I knew Negan and I were real, we had a deeper connection than most when we met, one that was greater than the both of us.
I had to cut our talk short because Michonne told me she was going to Oceanside with Judith and RJ for weapons and other resources.
So I would be leader again while she was gone and with Luke leading Hilltop, I felt positive about the coming war.
Everyday I would receive updates from them about how everyone was doing and the current situation, whisperers, hoards, that sort of thing.
The whisperers hadn't found their way to Oceanside as far as we knew, so we usually used it for training and the holding of weapons.
Each day when Michonne would call, Judith would always tell me who beat who at chess and brag that she killed the most walkers, just like her Auntie Molly.
Michonne and I would always laugh and joke about this, but there was always a serious undertone that the whisperers could attack at any moment and that we should always be prepared.
I had to protect everyone and make sure we all could fight well so when Connie and Kelly had asked if they could join them, I granted it because the other day, Kelly had a run in in the woods with a walker and she couldn't hear it behind her.
She wasn't bit, but it screwed with her head, so I asked Daryl to go with them just in case while I stayed at Alexandria.
I knew that Daryl wouldn't say no to helping Connie anyway, so I could rely on him to keep them safe on their journey, plus the beach would be peaceful.
So, we were almost near the cusp of war.
Our people were training hard and fighting in different communities, but all fighting for the same thing - our future.

Save Me: Chapter 65 - Someday
~Hey guys! Chapter 65 is out now :) I hope y’all enjoy and have a good week!~
Molly makes a confession to Michonne while Negan comes to terms with his past and Lydia thinks about her future at Alexandria.
Michonne and Judith had finally come home from Hilltop.
This filled me with both excitement and regret.
I was happy to see them both, alive and well.
Judith was like my niece and Michonne was my sister.
I loved them both so I hated them not knowing what everyone else already probably knew, that Negan and I were together.
Of course, people had whispered about him, about us for years but, because we were living together, Negan no longer in his cell and we looked after a kid, it was serious.
I think that's what unsettled people the most, that this wasn't some flirty fling with a prisoner, he was now one of us because of me and people felt threatened by us, like the King and Queen of the Sanctuary would reign over them too now.
I didn't wanna reign over anybody, I knew that Negan still did but that he held that part of himself in the past for me.
But it was the fact that we were three outcasts, the 'monster', the 'whisperer' and the 'saviour', although they interchanged monster and saviour for both Negan and I.
I knew that Judith would be okay with it, more elated than okay given how much she cared about Negan when Michonne understandably didn't.
But, Michonne, she was the type who I knew would be happy for me to see that after Tara, I could still be happy but that I found my happiness in Negan would be an issue. I was right.
Michonne strolled with Judith through the front gates as I went to greet her.
'Hey' she said smiling as she hugged me.
'I should've come home sooner' she said apologetically.
I stopped her and said quietly 'no, honestly the trial went better than expected, great actually. Listen, I need to talk with you in private about something'.
Michonne nodded sceptically and told Judith to go see Daryl and RJ while she talked to me for a minute.
I asked her to come sit with me on the bench beneath the tree and breathed deeply, hesitating before I spoke.
'Negan is living with me now' I said quickly, just trying to get it off my chest.
'What?' she said sternly but calmly.
'He is a prisoner Molly?! Or have you forgotten what he did...to all of us!' she yelled.
'I haven't nor will I ever, but he has shown over the years that he has changed. He has served our community time and time again and saving Lydia was no exception. I know it wasn't my decision to make...' I said slowly before she cut me off.
'You're damn right it wasn't!' she yelled.
'But...I made the call and if you will just give him a trial period, say two weeks. If he puts one toe out of line, then he goes back to the cell. But, showing the others that people can change, that they can find redemption, is that not what the future of this place is all about?' I asked softly.
Michonne sighed and nodded, 'fine, but he will still have guards'.
I nodded happily, saying 'deal'.
'How's Lydia doing?' she asked worriedly.
'She's banged up pretty bad, but she's healing. I just want people to see what we see, you know? That she's not a whisperer, hell she wasn't even one when she was with them. It just infuriates me that people hate her so much for something she didn't even do' I ranted as Michonne held my hand.
'You're doing the right thing Molly, you know she's so grateful for you. People will learn and understand over time' she said softly as she smiled.
'God I hope so' I replied as I looked down.
'I know you don't wanna hear this, but Negan is so good with her. She really bonded with him through all this. It's like I...like I have a family. Like I have a kid, you know?' I said hesitantly.
Michonne scowled and then smiled softly, 'I get it, Judith and RJ are my everything. I would do anything for them'.
I nodded, saying 'that's how I feel about Lydia. I wanted to kill those guys for hurting her, the thoughts that ran through my mind Michonne...they were dark. But Lydia showed me the light, showed me justice'.
'That's what we need to fight for, our future, the love that we have for each other...all of us' she said as she saw Negan in the tomato patch.
I thanked her for her understanding and I went over to Negan.
I walked up smiling like a cheshire cat and said sweetly, 'hey'.
Negan looked up and winked at me as he smiled, saying 'hey darlin'.
'Do you know where Lydia is?' I asked.
Negan nodded and said 'uh huh, dropped her off with doctor baby daddy while I went to work, she should be in her room'.
I loved hearing him talk about Lydia like she was ours, it was so sexy and compassionate.
Negan took off his cap and stood up to hold my hand.
'I love you so much you know that?' I said softly so that only we could hear.
He smirked, saying 'I love you more' he said as he bit his lip.
I went to put my arms around his waist as he said, 'Michonne is sitting right over there, we both know what happened last time'.
I chuckled, saying 'she knows and she's okay with it' as I pulled him in closer.
He relaxed and embraced me gently, holding the back of my head in his palm as he kissed my cheek.
'Is it wrong of me to say that I wanna take you right now in this tomato patch?' he whispered into my ear seductively.
I closed my eyes and smiled as I pressed my body closer so he could feel all of me.
'Not at all, but I have a funny feeling that your guards won't like that' I whispered back.
He chuckled at this and groaned in frustration, saying 'such a tease'.
I giggled and replied in a whisper, 'I know, but tonight you can have the full show'.
I pulled away from his embrace and left him wide eyed and speechless as I walked away giggling to myself.
I walked back to the house and checked Lydia's room to see that neither Siddiq or Lydia were there.
I frowned in confusion as I said to myself 'that's strange' as I walked back out.
I checked the hospital, only Dante our new doctor was working there at the moment.
He smiled strangely and said that Siddiq had gone to my house.
I just nodded and checked all over the compound, then realising that Lydia could have gone to the cell.
'Shit' I whispered to myself as I sprinted down there.
Gabriel was taking out Gage and the highway man so they could start their punishment and as I passed him I asked, 'is Lydia down there?'.
The two men didn't answer but Gabriel said 'she is but Molly I-' as I ran past them, not needing to hear the end of Gabriel's speech.
I opened the door to find Lydia sat on the bed in the cell.
Her knees curled up to her chest as her head was bowed to the ground.
'Lydia?' I asked questioningly.
'What are you doing down here?' I continued.
She looked up at me slowly and said 'what does it matter, this is where they want me'.
'You know what they're saying out there? That I brought it all on myself' she said as she started to cry.
I started to step inside as I said 'Lydia...no'.
She screamed and said 'don't! I want to be here. I was living a fairytale in your house, this is who I am'.
'You know for a long time I blamed myself for what my mother did. Kept thinking, what if I just stayed in that cell at Hilltop. If I never let myself be taken alive by you people in the first place, never went off with Henry, never said what I said to my mother' she said softly.
I sighed as I said 'you're not to blame for her'.
It was too much for her, being a family.
'My mother was right, she said you people put on these polite faces but its just a mask, because when things get bad...when you get scared, you pick a target, aim and shoot. Me, Negan, anyone but you' she continued.
'I tried fitting in, because I wanted to be like you' she said which made my heart shatter into a thousand pieces.
Tears rose to my eyes as I listened.
I shook my head, 'you don't belong in a cage, you belong with me' I said crying.
'I'm better here. I feel safe' she said sadly.
That was the truth for Lydia, with me and Negan she didn't feel safe.
I didn't doubt that she loved us but with what she went through, how could I expect her to just trust us?
It broke my heart, that I couldn't give her what she needed, but I loved her and I had to do whatever she needed.
I left the cell door open and said 'I'm sorry, just know that I love you and I will be here when you decide. I'm not leaving your side, you're stuck with me whether that's what you want or not...I've got your back' as I left the room crying.
I had been so blind. I thought she was starting to like it here, to like us.
The puzzle with Negan, the playing with Gracie, it had all been a lie.
She hated it here and it was my fault.
I should have done more, should have protected her more from all of this.
I promised her that, I thought as tears rolled down my face.
I stormed through the compound, wiping my tears before anyone saw me.
I had to do something to take my mind off it.
I had to fight them.
I marched over to Gabriel and said sternly 'I want to fight. No, I want to lead the fight'.
'I wanna train people, get ready because I can't wait any longer' I added as Gabriel just looked at me silently.
He knew something was up with me but didn't know what.
To be honest, if I was any sort of perfect person, I would better myself to help Lydia but knowing me, I wanted to fight my way through the pain.
He nodded and said 'alright' as he got everyone lined up for my training session.
I trained everyone over the age of twelve in everything, knife throwing, firing a gun, explosives, you name it.
My eyes kept flickering over to the cell where Lydia was.
I remembered all those days I would train her and I wished that she would see what I saw.
I just had to give her time and space to think.
My thoughts flashed back to the task at hand and the only thing that hindered us right now was the lack of numbers.
We had good and able fighters but the whisperers outnumbered us by a large fucking amount, plus they had a hoard of walkers that seemed to get larger every time we took some out like they were respawning.
I told Gabriel and he brought Negan over.
Aaron was training nearby me and as soon as he saw our plan, he marched over and said sternly 'we're good'.
'We're low on soldiers already, the ones we have are fighting fatigued. Negan has only been on cleanup duty' I pleaded.
'I said we're good' Aaron said angrily as he fastened his metal arm on.
Negan came over and said 'hey Molly, I'd rather just stay here and pick tomatoes and bury corpses'.
I whispered, 'he needs you out there, please?'.
'Yeah and I need me in here, especially on a day like today. Everybody's amped to eleven, pissed at the skins and stirring shit up with each other. I already told ya, I don't want any of those hateful vibes taken out on me' he said softly.
'I'll make you a deal' I whispered sweetly.
'You do this for me and i'll do that thing we talked about later' I added.
He chuckled and shook his head.
I sighed and said happily 'it's Aaron, he's a saint!'.
'Look, I just wanna stay here can you just do me that solid Moll' he said softly.
Gabriel rolled his eyes and walked over.
'You can fight, you are low on fighters. Peanut butter meet Jelly. You're taking him, end of discussion' Gabe said as he pointed to Negan and Aaron.
Negan's POV//
I knew Molly wanted me to fight with her but I couldn't help but be a little fucking sceptical.
Everyone hated me here except Molly, Lydia and Judith, so going out there with mister robot arm kinda freaked me out a little bit.
Once we got out, we fought the dead in silence until I picked up a crowbar to kill them more easily.
The fucker had given me a wooden stick, the hell was I meant to do with that?!
He warned me to put it down but I didn't listen so he chucked me some rope.
I chuckled and said, 'what? you want me to hang myself?'.
'Tie up, I'm taking you back' he said angrily.
'You're taking me back? That is the best freaking news I've heard all day! But, I am not tying up like some POW' I said smiling.
'Yes you are' he said sternly which made me smile even more.
'Or what cowboy? I asked sarcastically.
He drew out his knife as I said 'agh'.
'You know what I see? I see someone that's pretendin'. Come on man, let's just go' I said calmly as I tried to walk past.
He pushed me to the ground as I moved past him.
'Agh, Jesus did you just trip me?! What are you twelve?! What the hell is wrong with you, I've been putting my neck on a block for you people all goddamn week!' I yelled as I stood up slowly.
'You don't give a damn about us! If you gave a shit, you'd leave! That's what everyone needs' he yelled back.
I nodded and looked down, saying 'I did what I had to do back then'.
He looked surprised and asked 'what did you just say? No, no, no, open that up. Tell me, why the love of my life had to die!'.
'Okay, one simple fact, one truth kept my people going. If you don't protect what belongs to you, then sooner or later it belongs to someone else, that goes for your land, your wallet, your home, your country, everything. It is your job as a man to protect it. Its the story of America, the story of the whole goddamn world and ain't nothin changing it. Not you, not me, nobody' I said seriously.
He scoffed and said 'are you saying that Eric's death was my fault? Well, if I failed Eric then you failed Molly'.
I felt rage boiling in my blood as I kept my cool and just smiled saying 'careful'.
'She left the Sanctuary hating you, you know that she will never forgive you and you will never be able to change that. So, you can act like she won't hold that against you forever, but we both know the truth' he whispered.
I just chuckled as I frowned in anger.
'You wanna say something?' he added.
I noticed two walkers coming towards us and smiled saying 'yeah, behind you' as I ran.

Save Me: Chapter 64 - Judge, Jury, Executioner
~Hey guys! Chapter 64 is out now :) This is a short chapter but I hope everyone enjoys nonetheless~
The morning of the trial has arrived. Molly must decide the fate of two former Hilltop citizens and the love of her life.
I tended to Lydia the whole night through.
Negan and I didn't sleep as we took turns changing her bandages and pressing cold compresses to her forehead.
Lydia fell asleep after some paracetamol.
We watched her sleep as we held her hand.
A tear rolled down my face as I whispered to Negan, 'I should have been there'.
He shook his head and said 'you couldn't have known about those assholes'.
'Daryl's told Michonne about everything and she'll be coming home tomorrow' I whispered.
Negan smirked and said 'does that mean the sleepovers have to stop?'.
I smiled at him and said, 'I told you already, screw everyone else but us'.
He smiled as we both fell asleep holding Lydia's hand.
The sun shone brightly through the window.
I felt the warmth against my eyelids as I opened my eyes and squinted.
Lydia was starting to wake and winced in pain.
'How are you feeling?' I asked softly, because Negan was still asleep.
'I ache all over, but I'll be fine' she said weakly as I stroked her forehead.
I changed her bandages and treated the wounds so they could heal.
Negan awoke shortly after and said 'morning kiddo, how ya feelin?' as he sat up in the chair.
'Like shit, but I'll be okay. I've had worse...' Lydia said sadly which made my heart sink.
'Thank you for saving me' she said to Negan as he just smiled.
'My mother never did this for me...you both have been better parents to me than my own' Lydia said hesitantly as she looked at both of us.
We both smiled and held hands as I said softly 'we both love you Lydia'.
She smiled and said weakly 'I love you too'.
I came to sit on the edge of her bed as Negan stood behind me.
'There are people here that care about you kiddo, not just Molly and I, you'll see...' Negan said softly.
Lydia smiled and nodded as she thanked us.
'I have to go to the discussion, but I'll back soon' I said as I kissed Lydia on the forehead as Lydia asked Negan to do a puzzle with her.
I smiled as I watched them at the door, laughing and playing together.
He would be a great dad, I could tell.
I left the house to see Daryl walking briskly towards me.
'Michonne is on the radio, she wants to talk to you' he said sternly.
'Do you believe him?' I asked him about Negan, 'If Lydia says he saved her, then he saved her' he answered.
'He ain't no hero Molly, he always has an agenda' he said warningly as he followed me into the room.
Sat at the table were Rosita, Gabriel, Aaron, Siddiq, Eugene.
Daryl and I joined their side as Gage and the highway man walked in to sit on the other side.
They told their bullshit story as we patiently listened.
'I have spoken to Michonne, she wanted me to be her proxy in the vote' I said to the others.
They nodded and voted either guilty or not for Negan.
With Daryl, Gabriel, Siddiq, Michonne and I voting not guilty and Rosita, Eugene and Aaron voting guilty, we had a majority.
I smiled as Daryl said 'with Michonne gone, the decision falls to you Molly'.
I sighed with my hands interlocked on the table.
'We all know grief, we know how it changes you. I don't believe that you are evil people, but simply misguided. The real threat is out there, they killed your friends and we will destroy them. But, we cannot turn on each other and believe it or not, Lydia is one of us. We protect her, like we do for everyone. So, as punishment, you both will have restricted rations for a month, you will apologise to Lydia but after that, you will not go near her. If you do, there will be no exceptions, you will be executed. I will not tolerate violence inside these walls' I said sternly.
We were all in agreement as the two men nodded and were taken out of the room.
I stopped Daryl before he left and asked him where Carol had went.
She usually took part in our Council meetings whenever she came down from the Kingdom.
Now that the Kingdom had fallen, I assumed she would stay here.
He said sadly that she had gone to Oceanside, she couldn't be around Lydia or Ezekiel.
I sighed and nodded, I didn't agree but I understood.
She had plans to go on one of their boats and live out on the sea for months.
No walkers, no killing.
It seemed perfect for her right now.
I thanked him for letting me know as he walked out but when I turned around, I saw that Rosita was waiting to speak to me.
'Why is Negan in your house Molly?' Rosita asked angrily once everyone else had left.
'We live there together. I know you won't like it, but I've put everyone else's happiness and comfort above mine for years. I won't do it anymore, he's part of our community so we live together. So, like it or hate it, I don't care' I replied sternly as I marched out of the room.
As soon as I walked out of the room, I saw people staring at me.
I could tell if it was in fear or awe, but either way, I liked it.
I walked past them to see Negan walking around the compound freely without any guards as he pushed Lydia in a wheelchair so she could get some air.
I smiled and waved at them as I ran over and reached out to Negan to hold my hand.
He looked around to see everybody wide eyed and watching as he smiled and intertwined his fingers with mine as we pushed Lydia.
We were finally a family.
