it is pretty but this writing & dialogue choices are very.. dopey

some parts feel off though, like the animation doesn't look as good as 3? or I'm seeing things. maybe it's the lighting/atmosphere as we usually don't see the valley in its green/blue peaceful state. the new villagers designs are definitely a choice and it does feel weird seeing more of the valley in the background. kinda feels like a soft reboot oh god

I like that finishing fight with zhen at her introduction, that reminded me this is actually a Kung Fu Panda Film and not a tv show movie special considering how much it gives allat

Shifu doesn't have the patience to tolerate Po's goofiness & he's treated like a bumbling buffoon L BUT Po is smart & adaptive with his surroundings W

like c'mon I'm not a fan of grumpy Shifu please let him be endeared by Po's everything. but no we need all to be exaggeratedly cartoony emoji

for a kids movie this really isn't terrible. it's not a masterpiece it's definitely watchable if I'm not nitpicking every spoken word but that's not. a kfp standard in terms of 1&2 IM SORRY how can I not compare? the bar is so high. stop treating me like an idiot AND KIDS AREN'T IDIOTS
