Like when he arrives at airport with a lot of fans and photographers and reader runs up to him and hugs him and they do that spinning hug thing and reader tells him "Welcome home" while the cameras go crazy in the background haha (>^ω^<)

No Regrets - Yuzuru Hanyu x Idol! Fem Reader

A/N: hi anons, thank you for requesting this fanfic! It's been a while since I've written a Yuzu fic and since he had announced his retirement, I thought that these requests would be fitting

Pairing: Yuzuru Hanyu (figure skater) x Idol! Fem Reader

Warnings: slight angst, fluff, slice of life

Summary: what started out as a simple admiration for each other blossomed into something more when one of Yuzu's competitions was held in South Korea, where you were promoting your music as a soloist

It started out as a simple admiration. Yuzu was just looking through some new song releases for inspiration for one of his programs or even his exhibition program when he stumbled upon one of your songs and he was instantly hooked.

You on the other hand didn't know about Yuzu until his exhibition program blew up all over social media. The majority of his fans suddenly got into your music as well and it just made your music career blow up even more amongst the Japanese.

Ever since then, your curiosity about Yuzu got the best of you and not long after looking him up and watching basically all of his programs (#truestory of myself).

But just like Yuzu, you have this admiration for him and his passion for skating like you are towards music and your life as an idol. Well, at least up until one of Yuzu's competitions were held in South Korea. And funny enough, you actually had spare time during the day when both his short and free programs were held.

Lucky enough, you got permission from your company and booked the tickets for both the short and free program.

On the day of the short program, you came wearing a long navy turtleneck sweater with black pants and a coat, a bucket hat, your glasses and a mask to hopefully not get much attention from the crowd.

It took a while until it was Yuzu's turn to skate. But man, he did not disappoint at all. The way he glides over the ice in sync with the music, and his graceful yet strong performance really captured everyone's attention; including yourself.

Once his program, you were in awe at the amount of winnie the poohs and flowers that were thrown onto the nice; keeping a mental note to get one and throw it yourself for the free program. And once the final scores were announced, the entire men's short competition was concluded.

You had a feeling that some of the crowd must've noticed you since some were looking in your direction several times. You quickly gathered your things and made your way out as soon as you can since you really didn't want to draw any weird attention; especially when this should be about the skaters, not you.

However, as you were rushing out the door, you nearly bumped into someone and unfortunately, some of the crowd noticed who you were, some were trying to get to you but lucky for you, you were a champion in hide and seek.

Though, when you get through the entire crowd, you didn't realise that you were actually in the secluded area for the skaters. But when you did realise, some of the male skaters noticed you and unfortunately for you, some security was coming to get you out. Until two male skaters got your back.

The first being Junhwan Cha, the South Korean figure skater and the other one was Yuzuru Hanyu, the figure skater that you had just gotten into, the figure skater that just has this aura that pulls you in.

Luckily, both the skaters managed to get the security to allow you be there since they heard that there was a ruckus within the crowd; mainly because some of them recognised you.

At first, you were nervous about meeting Yuzu but luckily Junhwan was there to help the both of you communicate through the language barrier and slowly use whatever English the two of you knew.

Ever since that accidental meeting, you and Yuzu have been slowly communicating with each other, exchanging ideas with each other. Yuzu asking you for ideas for his performance whereas you would ask for some inspiration for new songwriting.

Heck, the two of you even went as far as doing a collaboration performance for one of Yuzu's ice shows that he was performing. You would be performing live whereas Yuzu would be skating at the same time.

Slowly but surely, your friendship grew into partnership and eventually, it grew into love. It really was new to both of you and the fact that the two of you were always far apart made it harder. Plus, Yuzu was a very private person that he doesn't show his personality off that much. But slowly and surely, the two of you managed to get passed all those rocky parts at the beginning of your relationship.

Thankfully enough, the public hasn't known about it. One of the perks with Yuzu being very private and you weren't the main target of the public; even when some are lurking around.

Well, that was about to change when Yuzu was coming home from the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics (A/N: I'm sorry but like, let's just imagine what happened actually happened in this fanfic).

The night of the men's free program, you watched his program from his parents' house since you were visiting Japan and decided to see his parents after so long. After the final standings were announced, you and his parents were somewhat distraught but not disappointed at all. Instead, you were somewhat relieved that it was over, even when Yuzu didn't make it to the podium.

Later in the night, you received a call from Yuzu and the two of you just talked throughout the whole night. You listened to all of his thoughts and feelings about the entire competition. Just like you and his parents, Yuzu was also distraught but he wasn't disappointed. He admitted that he actually had no regrets about doing the uncertain quad axel rather than playing safe.

"That's all I hoped. That you have no regrets. I'm proud of you. You were so brave on going that far, risking being on the podium. But in all honesty, I'm really happy and proud that you decided to go for the quad axel because you really have nothing left to proof, Zuzu" you replied, having a soft smile as you hear him chuckle

"Thank you. Hearing it from you makes me feel a lot better already. I'm sorry for making you stay up and listen to my rambles" Yuzu half laughed as you hummed

"Of course. Heck, you're always up so late because of me whenever I'm trying to write new songs. It's the least I can do. I wished I could've been physically there to support you and hug you" you muttered as you're laying down

"Soon my feather. I'll visit you, soon, alright? Go get some rest! Oyasumimasai!" Yuzu exclaimed as you both bid each other goodbye and goodnight

Oh, how Yuzu doesn't know about your little plan to surprise him at the airport when he arrives back home.

On the day that Yuzu is coming back, you got ready and put on one of the dresses that Yuzu bought for you when the two of you went shopping that one time together.

On the way to the airport, you were slightly nervous about what the public might think about your relationship. But you were also worried on what Yuzu might think about you coming to greet him. Will he be upset since he wasn't ready to have your relationship known to the public, will he be happy that you came all the way to greet him? Well, there's only one way to find out and which is to suck it up and go for it with no regrets.

At the airport, you were waiting within the huge crowd that was going to greet the Japanese athletes. It took an hour until the crowd started to go wild and the Japanese athletes finally showed. After several athletes, you finally spotted Yuzu and you decided to just be a daredevil and pushed your way until you managed to catch some attention; including the Japanese athletes.

Finally, you managed to catch everyone, including Yuzu's attention since you were practically "blocking" the exit. Yuzu practically staring at you from top to bottom, shocked that you were actually there, all of the Japanese athletes that know about your secret relationship decided to part way for the two of you.

Yuzu slowly made his way towards you, leaving his luggage for a moment since his fellow athletes nudged him to go. Despite the amount of crowd that was around, when the two of you locked eyes with each other, it was as if it was both your world and everyone else is just living in it.

"Y-you didn't tell me that you were coming" Yuzu questions, holding your arms in his

"I wanted it to be a surprise. Plus, I was already visiting the country, might as well visit your parents and surprise you. Y-you're not upset, a-are you?" you asked back nervously when Yuzu suddenly pulled you in his embrace

"No. Not at all. You don't regret coming here, right?" Yuzu muttered, cupping your cheeks, looking at you with full of love

"No. No regrets at all" you replied, smiling right before Yuzu pulled you into a passionate kiss, ignoring all the surroundings because just as you taught him, live your life with no regrets

A/N: ahhh yes, this fic was longer than expected. I wanted to capture some sweet moments since I know that celebrities/artists/public figures must have not gotten much privacy and probably can't really showcase much of their private life. Anyways, I'm rambling. I hope that you all are well and if you've made it this far, I'd like to announce something

For everyone who has been requesting other Yuzu or fs skater fics, from the bottom of my heart, I deeply apologised that I may not write them as I have slowly lost interest in the fandom; especially now Yuzu has retired. Don't get me wrong, I love Yuzu, I enjoyed my time watching him perform since 2018 up until Beijing 2022 but ever since corona happened, it has been hard to keep up with the FS fandom, especially when all the competitions, ice shows have been postponed and if you can't already tell, I have fallen for a different fandom.

Not to say that I don't appreciate the skaters, especially Yuzu. More so that I admire and am grateful for him since he was the figure that made me post my first fics online (specifically on Wattpad). I wish nothing but a life long of happiness and health for Yuzu and may that he keep doing whatever he loves to do.
