Okay this has been sitting in my drafts for awhile and I just gotta post it. I couldn't get this moment from @toastytoaster22's fic Don't Start Now out of my head from the end of the chapter. It just sat in my brain, being cute and adorable and warm like these two are! I 1000% felt like Shigeo's mom in the story, I can't with these two. They are so sweet.

I tried to get it to a soft-fuzzy-nice place which matched how I felt when I read it. I think i got there...? Sorta? Anyway gotta give thanks to Toasty for creating some of the most wonderful fics, they all make me feel so nice and happy every time I read them.

Also this started as a fan comic idea of the fic initially but my paneling skills are....weh not great haha but if anyone wants to see some REAL ROUGH comic outline it's under the cut. I do think one panel of Shigeo was nice.

Mostly Mob Psycho 100 (at least that’s what I post).

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

“It Should Have Been Me” for sure, though none of my fics have straight up “bad” endings. There’s at least a little hope in each one. But with Mother 3 having the whole “Tanetane Island” business, it’s a rough night for all the kiddos after that 🫠

“Philophobia” and “Let Go” are close seconds with hopeful endings.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

“Yoroshiku Matsuoka-san”, the fic based off of the one and only “Issho” by Toasty! It’s still the longest fic I’ve ever written, sitting at almost 12k, and it’s still my fave I’ve posted. It’s all kinds of fluff (with only one angst scene) and ends with Reigen tucking Teru into bed and then giving him the safest, warmest hug 🥺

8. Do you get hate on fics?

LOL I’m not known enough in the fandom to get hate, and I hope I never am 🤣

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yes, but I keep those fics to myself. Even then, I wouldn’t consider them “smut,” and more like “graphic sex is present in this story, but it’s less about the sex and more about the emotions the characters are feeling.”

Most of them are safe ways for me to explore any type of sexual feelings I have while also sorting out what exactly it is I’m feeling. Because of this, most of them center around asexuality and kinks I’m curious about.

10. Do you write crossovers?

YEEEEES! Yes yes yes! I haven’t posted any, but I have WIPs of:

Super Mario Galaxy x Mother 3 (because Lucas needs a mom and that mom is Rosalina)

Earthbound x Mob Psycho 100 (Psychic kiddo meets psychic kiddo)

Danny Phantom x The Avengers (because I think science obsessed Danny and Bruce Banner would get along preeetty well.)

Breaking Bad x Mov Psycho 100 x The Avenegers (I’m not gonna explain this one. It’s for one of my best friend’s eyes only XD)

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

Oh Terumob no question XD

Well, I say that, but I have The Big Three which I like all for different reasons.

Ash x Misty (Pokeshipping) for being my very first ship, and it will always have a special place in my heart. (The fluff ship, if you will.)

Bruce Banner x Natasha Romanov (Brutasha) because there is SOOOOOO much potential with these two that the MCU just threw in the garbage and I’m MAD ABOUT IT! I’m writing and drawing what I WANT TO SEEEEEEE!!! (Aka, the angst ship)

And then Terumob, which has been the source of some of the best, most heartbreaking fics I’ve ever read. Get these kids some love. (The perfect blend between angst and fluff).

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Hmmmm not doubt I will, but it’ll take me years XD

It’s “Adrift,” which is my love letter to my favorite fairy tales, musicals, romance tropes, and just life itself.

I can’t see myself finishing it until I’m older though. Simply because the ending is supposed to represent how everything in life will work out in the end, and that there is a plan for each and every everyone of us in life…

… but I don’t know how that ends. I don’t know how my own life story ends, so how am I supposed to know how this one does?

16. What are your writing strengths?

I’m not sure if it’s my strength, but I love writing dialogue!

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Ahdkfhsldjf The process of actually writing and not just daydreaming 🤣

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Well, since most of my fave shows are from Japan, that would be wild to write all the dialogue in Japanese haha. I’m similar to what Toasty said, where if there isn’t a translation for the word in English, I use the Japanese word with Romaji. I also try to use Japanese Honorifics to the best of my ability.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Super Mario Galaxy! I wrote it for a project in 5th grade lol.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Hmmmmm… finished fic would be “Yoroshiku Matsuoka-san” because I love that it made so many people smile!

But my favorite WIP is both the BB X MP100 x Marvel crossover and “Adrift”. Both fics fit into the category of “I’m writing what I’ve always wanted to read.”

Hi Fizzy! Thank you for coming to say hiiiiii <3 I have been asleep most of the day but i am up and trying out a cup of yogurt so here goes:

1. Fuck. Fuck me, I read this and laughed soooo much on the inside. You've caught me. I don't have a freaking clue what Shigeo would be when he grows up in my Post Manga TeruMob series. So many people give gentle and kind people the role of a teacher, especially a kindergarten teacher, but as someone in Early Education... I don't think Shigeo has the mental energy or the physical energy for that hahahah.

You know what?? I think he'd be a GREAT personal trainer. Calm, encouraging, patient, and being in that environment would also help him continue to reach his own body improvement goals!

2. Omg you are asking about my baby. My son. My Benjiro. I will give you much more than just one little fact. I have been waiting for someone to ask about him forever. Facts about Benjiro:

-his favorite color is purple most of the time, sometimes its red

-he has really thick eyebrows and really big ears that someday he grows into and is all handsome, but as a kid they're just too big for his face and I love him. he gets picked on a little bit in first grade and is sort of self conscious about it. Shigeo is great about coaching him through being teased. Teru doesn't know what to do bc he can't really tell Benjiro to punch the other kid and i mean... his ears are really big <3

-Benjiro has 0 interest in girls, boys, or dating in any capacity until late high school when he realizes that he has very slowly fallen in love with his friend. Oh dear moment. What do. Suffer, i guess? She's so pretty oh god how did this happen? it's okay, she'll ask him out eventually XD He's demi

-Benjiro loves wearing all of Teru's absurd clothes but NEVER outside of the house. That's embarrassing lol

-he actually doesn't use his powers much (shigeo's do it with muscle influence) except when it has to do with Mischief (bc teru is a bad influence in the best way)

-For years he calls both Teru and Shigeo "Daddy" which causes a lot of confusion when he's telling stories. Teru and Shigeo are the only ones who can tell the calls apart and forget that other people can't.

3. ahh, yes. The ToastyToaster namesake... I think I've explained it before but that was way back when i first got a tumblr. It's a silly cute little story between me and my husband. basically he gets really cold when he goes to bed and I apparently have great circulation so i am all toasty warm. We used to go to bed and I would let him put his hands on my tummy to warm them up and he would tell me that I was "the toastiest". 22 is both my birthday and my favorite number PLUS it was more alliteration so i liked it extra.

tome & tsubomi !!!

I love tome/tsubomi but I’m not sure why…………… I guess they both are like, socially inept but don’t seem much troubled by it on a conscious level, it kind of occurs to them only in moments when they DO experience satisfying social connection that they don’t get that most of the time, which is funny and cute. imo. 

Here, have an excerpt of dumb beach fic I was supposed to be writing for @alkarinque before I got sucked into awful AUs:

“Hello?”

Tsubomi, former school idol of Salt Mid and idol presumptive of Bean Sauce Mid, was blocking Tome’s sun. Since Tome had forgotten sunscreen and stubbornly declined Serizawa’s offer of ancient, greasy, high-SPF slime out of an unmarked jar—as well as Reigen’s offer of some little tubes he had to have stolen from a resort—it was hard to resent this. But it wouldn’t do to show complacence either. “You’re blocking my sun,” Tome said.

“Sorry about that.” Tsubomi smiled and didn’t move. She had a shopping bag hooked over one arm, and a tie-dye bikini and a hairclip with a little blue bow glued on, neither of which really justified her reputation for refinement. On the other hand, the colors of the tie-dye were somehow somber, for tie-dye, and the hairclip—which would have looked halfassed on most people—was cool on Tsubomi. It was jaunty and down-to-earth. Like, “Who needs to learn to tie a ribbon when you could staple one to your scalp?” Or something. Tome was only thinking that way because Tsubomi had clipped her hair back so severely, exposing the even whiter corners of her white forehead. Tsubomi looked like she’d had less sun than Tome over break, which seemed barely possible, since Tome had spent most of June indoors, with the blinds down, the better to check for any hint of an aura fizzing around one hand. (No luck so far—the closest thing turned out to be Dimple’s ectoplasm encasing her arm, after he fell asleep coasting on the draft from the fan and drifted into her.)

“I’m looking for Mob,” Tsubomi offered, after a seconds-long detente in which Tome tried not to bask too obviously in the refreshing shade.

Without unpeeling her cheek from her arm, it was impossible to visibly waggle her eyebrows, so Tome just pointed in the direction of the concession stands. No signs of life or imminent departure from Tsubomi. She was barefoot, Tome noticed, and stood with feet planted in the burning sand like it was cool tatami.

“You’re Kurata, right?”

“You got it.”

“Mob talks about you a lot.”

“Eh? You talk about me?” She levered her head up just enough to prop her chin on her forearms, instead. It was a little painful, but sacrifices had to be made in pursuit of attention. “I mean, of course you talk about me. What’s he say?”

“He’s a little worried about you, I think,” said Tsubomi, after a moment’s apparent consideration. Then to Tome’s surprise she colored as if hearing the words played back to her. “I shouldn’t have said that. What I mean is, he thinks you’re taking on a lot with part-time work and high school. He really looks up to you as his upperclassman, and… What’s going on? I feel weird. Why do I keep talking?”

“Maybe you should sit down,” Tome suggested, her reluctance to lose this human parasol at last outweighed by fascination. Tsubomi sat. She sat right in the sand and winced; aha, so she did experience temperature! Tome remembered to move over and make room on the towel, but not before noticing that Tsubomi gave her a little look of betrayal, as though Tome had forced her to drop where she stood. But she crawled onto the towel without voicing any complaint.

“Did you bring a hat? You might have sunstroke. Why aren’t you off to find Mob?” Tome asked, patting the towel to get out the sand Tsubomi brought with her. Now that the sun was back, it was hard to remember what was weird about Tsubomi’s presence—the thought that it was weird persisted as a single question mark, almost crushed beneath the weight of Tome’s toasty-warm bare hair. Maybe she should bleach it, as a survival strategy. Teru always looked cool when he came with them to the beach. On the other hand, Reigen bleached his hair and sweated more than any person Tome had ever met, even with the office fan on. It was all genetics.

She became aware that Tsubomi had started to (haltingly) answer the question. “…and so, with this being our first real ‘friend’ outing since we were kids, I felt a bit nervous and wasn’t in any rush to go find him. I thought it would be better to talk to you and find out more. Seriously, what is with this conversation? It’s not like I don’t trust you, but I hardly know you. That’s right. I don’t know you.” She stared at Tome with blank attention that relaxed by degrees into blanker mildness. “But I do… trust you.”

“Oh?” Tome strove to feel something appropriate toward this declaration. What was appropriate? Flattered unsurprise, she decided, and right away a warm, answering trust filled up her heart. “Hey, did you bring sunscreen?”

“I bought some of the spray-on kind. But I don’t really know how it works. I would not normally say that out loud.”

“No problem, we can do each other!”

3.  Computer or pen and paper?

HaHAA you know me. A little old lady in every way. I write all my plots, character arcs, notes, timelines, and eeeeeeeeeeeverything else on paper first. Then once I have a full outline I will transfer individual chapter notes to a word doc. 

16.  How many drafts do you need until you’re satisfied with a project?

Ooh, this depends. Usually on the length of a project/fic and how good I think my first draft is. I tend to do things in a few rounds.

Round 1: notes and outlines Round 2: first draft (can include huge gaps, dialogue placeholders & gibberish) Round 3: a complete chapter (all the words are there even if I don’t love them) Round 4: Devi proofreads and we work out any weird spots (repeat ?x) Round 5: final proofread and post

Sometimes a shorter fic will just be me spamming words on the page and then doing a half-assed proofread before I give in and post it right away. Anything under 5k is usually done like this hahaha!

18. If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be, and what would you write about?

ghsdjkgnfjkl mmkay so I think I have said this before but like. I don’t usually do collaborations. I am very picky with my writing and a pain about it. But you and I are nearly always on the exact same brainwave so I THINK?? I think I could collab with you?? MAYBE? The only exception is that I am low key working on a collab with Devi right now for a BTS ficfest. The hilarious thing is that it’s BTS and MP100 characters in a daycare setting and we’re basically just recreating my classroom from last year bc it’s adorable and not to be taken super seriously. uhhhhh don’t worry about it

28. Favorite side character?

I’m going to sort of cheat and not count Teru. He’s a secondary level main character in my book. So I am going to say Inukawa? Or Tome? Musashi is way up there too, my dude. I really love the kids at the school. They’re really dynamic and enjoyable and Inukawa is a bean. I just love that Mob has friends and I appreciate themmm <3

32.  Most difficult character to write?

Toichiro. Fucking textbook psychopath. I cannot fathom what’s in his brain that makes his mouth say the words he does. We all know my opinion of this creature. Weird ass man to write.

38.  Weirdest story idea you’ve ever had?

PFFFT I HAVE BIZARRE STORY IDEAS ALL THE TIME. I have a lot of daydreams about Universe Swaps from my own AU’s... and other people’s AU’s. UH. and like. I’ve been trying to think of another funky rated G horror fic I could write this summer and the current list of no-go’s are: -Teru stuck in a parallel world where he never existed. -Teru waking up and everyone else is ... invisible? He can’t see them or hear them but he can feel them. Everyone is confused as to why he is freaking out bc from their pov everything is normal? Is he cursed? I dunno? -There are too many suns and too many moons and i dunno where i was going with this but the imagery was really cool Other funky thoughts include: -canon divergent where Teru falls through to the sewers during his fight with Shimazaki in season two and the broccoli roots grow around him and use him as an... energy source? Or something? He’s missing and mentally trying to get away but can’t move? may or may not include astral projection.  -Mezato centric investigation fic that may or may not end up in the Issho verse so i probably actually shouldn’t say much more than that but it will be interesting.

47.  Best way to procrastinate?

From writing?? I don’t. Everything in my day is a dumb reason why I can’t be writing. The second I am free from life obligations I will be writing. Unless I am legit incapable bc of mental health reasons. But even then I should try to write bc writing makes me feel good and proud and productive. I love making stories :D
