WoL Prompt A Day #1

Fight. Come on. You know this dance. You've done it now for years. Feel the aether flow through my body, through the aetherotransformer. Through to the weapon. You know why you have to do this.

The waves of malice and opressive aether that flowed off him threatened to choke Kerina if the pain from the overflow of stagnant light aether didn't first. However a strength they didn't know they had lately begun to blossom forth from inside. A stronger force, a third force fighting against everything. Different from the 'blessing' that they called a curse. A tempering. From a primal. The disgust in them rose, a fury to rival that of whatever Halone supposedly had.

They were themselves. They were not bound to a primal. They refused to be. They refused to let anyone else be anyone other than themselves. It was intrinsic. Themselves was all they ever could be. All they ever would be. No one, not even he could change that.

"This is what he would want if he had control of himself enough." They muttered to themselves as they reconfigured the gun and leveled their sights at his chest. This was it.

Loser becomes untempered.

Winner leaves knowing their heart's blood is on their hands.

For once, the curse and their heart were in agreement. As much as it hurt. To save him, he himself needed to die. They just prayed they had enough strength to do so.

"I'm sorry." They shouted up at him, finishing reassembling the configuration of their revolver "I love you! I'm sorry!" And with that, they opened fire.
