~*~*~*~ July 2003 ~*~*~*~
“Excuse me, can you pull over please?” You ask loudly after practically leaning over Alex who sat directly behind the driver of the black taxi.
The driver nods his head and begins to reduce his speed after you asked him that through the perspex that separated him from the rest of you.
“Thank you,” You tell the driver, before getting out of Alex’s personal space and sitting back down next to the disgusting couple that were getting off beside you.
Thank god you weren’t too far away from home now.
Alex asks you with wide eyes, “Why’d you do that? What’s happening?”
You look at the brunette who looked like he felt more uncomfortable about being seated backwards than Matt getting off with the random girl beside you.
Alex was meant to be staying at Matt’s house tonight after their gig and the night out you’d had afterwards. But in the pub Matt had gotten lucky and the girl wanted to go home with him.
You living two roads away from Matt Helders meant that you always shared taxis home with him but tonight was just insufferable. And you weren't going to let Alex suffer through it once you parted ways, either.
“You’re staying at mine. I’m not leaving you with that,” You inform Alex, looking over to Matt sticking his tongue down the random girl's throat.
The more you looked at Matthew and the blonde the more you wanted to jump out of the moving vehicle. Hands were beginning to roam now, too, and you didn’t want to be in their vicinity any longer.
It would be very unfair of you to leave Alex in their presence. Especially when you had your whole house to yourself and you were only round the corner from where he was originally meant to be staying.
“What about your Mum?” Alex asks, concern on his face as the taxi slows.
“She’s away for the weekend so it’s fine. House is empty,” You assure him as you open the door once the red light has gone off.
Both you and Alex get out of the taxi but before you close the door you pull a £10 note out of your pocket for your share of the taxi fare.
“Matt, you’re disgusting but here’s a tenner,” You say throwing the money at him.
Matt nods at you when he takes a quick break from the blonde. You shake your head at him trying not to smile at the cocky bastard.
You hear Alex tell the driver, “Then to the original address please mate” when you close the black door.
You’re more than thankful to see the taxi drive away. You didn’t want to endure anymore of that disgusting PDA.
Both you and Alex breathe a sigh of relief when you’re just in each other’s presence again. You’re glad to see the taxi’s lights disappear from sight down the long road.
“They’re vile,” Alex sighs before lighting up a cigarette.
“I was ready to jump out the taxi but the red light were on,” You tell him truthfully with a little chuckle.
You both walk in silence for a few minutes, just smoking and both reminiscing about the night you’d just had.
Alex and the lads had a gig in a venue in town where your friendship group had all gone to support him. You were always really close with them all, your little group always meeting up after high school and now most days after college.
But now it was summer and the group could meet up more often which was great. And whilst you were still in Sheffield, you would be making the most of every group event.
So when Matt suggested going out on the pull to a club after the gig, you were all up for it. However, the night didn’t go to plan.
You were in the queue for the club for about half an hour and then when half of you got in, the bouncers stopped Alex and asked for his ID.
This obviously put an end to that idea because most of you were all 17 except for Nick and Jamie. So it was lucky that those of you who got in actually did.
But once one of you had been stopped you all didn’t have a chance then. Alex tried to back chat the bouncers which didn’t really go down well, so you ended up shouting everyone back outside.
You didn’t abandon your mates. If one of you couldn’t get in, you all wouldn’t be going in.
Alex was pissed off about it for a while until you all found a bar that was known for not IDing people to go in that wasn’t too far away. So his mood thankfully picked up when you all got there.
However it seemed like he was a bit down as you walked down the long roads towards your house.
So as you stubbed your cigarette bud out, you questioned him, “What’s up?”
“Nothing,” Alex shook his head, stuffing his hands in his zip up hoodies pockets after throwing what little was left of his fag to the ground.
You didn’t believe him for a second, but you only called him out again on it when he kicked a stone along the pavement in a huff.
“Alex, I’m being serious, what’s up?” You ask again, noting that his shoulders were hunched to.
He tried to brush you off again, this time saying, “Nothing, I don’t wanna talk about it.”
“You know you can talk to me about anything you want, right?” You feel the need to remind him.
You’d known him since you were 3. If you desperately needed someone to turn to and the girls weren’t around Alex would more than likely be your go to.
“Not this,” Alex shakes his head, still not looking at you.
“It can’t be that bad,” You tell him.
Alex just shakes his head again, really not wanting to get into it with you because he didn’t think you’d understand. So this time he changes his answer to, “It’s not bad, it’s just embarrassing.”
“More embarrassing than when I wet myself in primary school and you never let me forget about it?” You shake your head.
Alex laughs a little at that, finally looking toward you when he says, “Because it was funny.”
“I was five years old Alex, give me a fucking break,” You chuckle, attempting to defend yourself.
Both of you laugh at the memory of him bringing it up countless times over the years. He was such a teasing friend but you’d known him since you were toddlers so you would let him off.
You had enough embarrassing stories of him that you could bring up if you needed too.
“Come on,” You try again, “What’s up?”
This time you seem to get somewhere because Alex tells you, “I really just feel like shit.”
“Why?” You ask, sticking your bottom lip out a little. “I thought you had a good night?”
“I mean yeah sure, I had a good night with you, but that’s not what I mean,” Alex tells you, and when you don’t reply he looked round at you noticing you were waiting for him to continue.
He sighs when he just gives in and tells you, “I just mean I was hoping to get off with that girl in that green dress but it didn’t happen.”
Ah, you understood now.
“Didn’t get a pull, again,” Alex scorns himself before once again kicking the stone on the ground a lot harder this time.
You watched as it clattered it’s way down the darkened pavements and you nod understanding his words.
“Oh, yeah, I know what you mean,” You tell him honestly. “I was gutted about that too, that guy in that leather jacket was fit.”
Fit was the highest compliment you northerners would give people. You weren’t meaning it in an athletic sense but if you deemed someone as fit that meant that you found them very attractive.
Alex nods processing your words. He vaguely remembered you chatting to a guy in a leather jacket in the bar. But he’d had a few drinks since then so his memory was a tad hazy.
After a few seconds of silence between you, Alex just sighs, telling you his full truth, “I just feel like I’m behind...”
“You know what I mean... Like everyone else either goes home with someone or pulls them and does stuff in the club,” Alex lists off thinking back to previous nights out.
You nod, “Yeah and I hate it.”
“I hate it, too,” Alex agrees.
A thought whirls around your mind for a few moments, before you actually grow the balls to say it out loud, “I hate that I’m still a virgin.”
“Same.” Alex says in what seems like relief that you’d said it too.
Your friendship group was a close one. You all knew who’d been sleeping with who and who's single and who’s done things and who hadn’t.
It wasn’t a surprise to either of you what you were hearing the other say out loud.
If anything though it got a weight off both your chests.
“You know like I just don’t want the first time something happens to be someone fingering me in a club or something,” You laugh a little as you turn the corner onto another long road.
“Yeah, I get that,” Alex nods chuckling too.
Some of the stories that your friends told in the place you all went out was truly mental. But gossip was gossip and it spread like wildfire.
Alex continues showing his understanding with, “Like, you’re not necessarily after being in a relationship or whatever but you at least don’t want it to be a randomer.”
“Literally,” You nod, “I’m glad you get it.”
“Well you know... The same things go through my mind,” Alex tells you.
He’s just glad he’s not the only one feeling a bit left behind.
“What, getting fingered in a club?” You ask him playfully with a little laugh.
“Fuck off,” Alex laughs and nudges you to the side.
You both laugh for a second and once you’re next to him again he continues, “I just mean like I wanna just get things out of the way... Like I don’t want it to mean nothing, but I also don’t want to be completely shit at everything if I’m doing it with someone who I’m going to be in a relationship with.”
“Oh my god that’s literally it, isn’t it?” You nod, “Like I just feel like after the first times’ done and dusted, I could be a little slag then if I wanted to be... Because then I wouldn’t be scared of some wanker taking my virginity just to then fuck off.”
“Literally,” Alex smiles at you, understanding completely.
“Have you done anything?” You ask him after a few moments of silence. The only round to be heard was your footsteps.
“No,” Alex shakes his head before asking, “Have you?”
“No,” You offer him a sad smile.
Alex returns yours with his own and you both just walk down the road in a comfortable silence for a minute. You’re about 5 minutes away from your house now.
“I feel like you could write a sad song about us,” You say not wanting to get lost in your thoughts again.
“I wouldn’t wanna broadcast our lives like that,” Alex chuckles a tad, shaking his mop of brown hair.
You grin at him, “Very considerate of you.”
“Well you know, I’m a nice guy,” Alex smiles, his chocolate eyes looking at you.
You smile, “I know you are.”
“Gentleman really,” Alex adds in jest which makes you laugh.
“Pushing the boat out a bit there Al,” You chuckle before you both share a laugh.
A silence falls between you then as you both continue to walk down the road. Thoughts start forming in your mind then, you never really were a fan of silence because it gave you a chance to overthink and create some crazy ideas.
You then walk silently faster before turning towards him and stopping in front of him.
Alex stops walking too and looks at you curiously.
“What’s up?” He asks with a raised eyebrow.
“Can I kiss you?” You ask after building up a little confidence.
Alex’s frowns a little, “What?”
Where was this coming from?
“Can I kiss you... Like properly?” You ask, confidence shooting way down though when you see your friend is not so keen on the idea.
“Erm...” Alex trails off looking at you like you’ve gone mad.
Then you feel a bit stupid.
You shake your head, starting to turn back to start walking towards your house again. As you do, you begin to backtrack, “Just ignore me, I don’t know what I’m thin-“
Alex’s hand then grabs your wrist and whips you back around to face him. The brunette then takes a step towards you, cups the back of your neck, and attaches his lips to yours.
You’re a bit taken aback by his actions, despite you asking for it. But you quickly relax into the gesture.
Your hand that landed on his chest after him pulling you back around clutched at his hoodie as you got your bearings with each other. You bring your hand up to lace into his hair and as you do that Alex deepens the kiss.
He was almost hesitant at first when his tongue connected with yours. But after a second you both got more confident with it.
The night was a humid one so it meant that when the kiss started heating the both of you up, it got you both really hot and bothered. He was a really good kisser, something that you’d never really given much thought to before.
But as he was kissing you, you felt a giddy nervousness in your stomach. Something that made you crave him more.
And Alex seemed just as keen on you too, he was pulling you close to him. With one hand around your waist and the other still cupping your neck, keeping you in place.
His lips were soft against your own yet they moved at an increasing pace which you happily tried to keep up with. It was like you were both catching up for a night of failed attempts at a pull.
But you were finally getting it now. Your tongues were moving against each other’s in a way that screamed for the other to continue and never break apart.
When Alex’s fingers dig into your hips you pull the tiniest bit tighter on his hair as you hum into the kiss. You were really enjoying it, completely invested in it and his hold on you felt possessive in the best way.
It was like you were both kissing each other that frantically to make up for the lost time you’d had at the pub.
The kiss only stops because you’re startled away from each other by a car razzing it’s way down the street. The exhaust had obviously been tampered with to make it sound much louder than it was.
You pulled away a little shocked that you’d both just pulled each other like that in front of some random house around the corner from yours. You could hear the car that had just made you both jump over the sound of your own rapid heartbeat.

The following day, Jade entered the headquarters with Alexander, then less than an hour later left him with a few advisors in a meeting, exiting the very same door with Kane, his arm linked with hers, his face freshly tanned and excited about the prospect of taking Jade out as well as the fact that their outfits unintentionally matched, her tight dress as silky and shiny as the shirt he wore underneath his pinstriped suit, had left its buttons mostly undone to show off as much of his chest and heavy jewelry.
He was charming on the ride there, complimented her dress and her hair, talked about the new pieces of jewelry he'd gotten, showed her a ring Alexander had given him ages ago, and it was only when they were sat secluded on the terrasse of his favourite café, waiters busied with their order, security out of reach, that he leaned forward towards her and the wrinkles of excitement were replaced by an expression that left barely anything to guess about his shift in mood, his brows furrowed, his jaw tense, fingers wrapped around the edge of the table.
“Why'd ya not scratch 'er eyes out then?”
Jade blinked, her back straightening as she looked back him, licking her lips. A few moments passed before she understood that he knew, that someone had told him and she nodded slowly. “Helders stopped me” she stated. “Regrettably.”
The corner of his mouth twitched visibly before his lips broke out into a small smile, yet the look of bitterness in his eyes didn't fully fade. “Reyht.” He leaned back in his seat again. “I joost fookin' 'ate 'er.”
Kane's anger was beginning to fuel her own, despite having talked about everything with Alexander the night before, making sure he was as content with the situation as possible among the circumstances, she found herself thinking back to the smile on Adriana's face when she'd dared to speak to him as if she hadn't made changes to his life that he was still dealing with. “No one should have had or should have that power...” She swallowed. “Over him.”
Miles raised his eyebrows before he started nodding slowly. “Bella, you 'ave tha' power.”
Her eyes darkened. “Well, I wouldn't fucking abuse it like that” she spat, yet felt a strange surge of satisfaction at his words. She meant every word she'd said, but it filled her with pride, a sense of accomplishment, that she'd made a change after all, a change beneficial to the both of them.
“I kno' you like tha', bella” he said, not breaking their eye contact as the waiter set down their drinks on the table and he picked up his, taking a long sip. “And I kno' now tha' you won't take advantage of him.”
“Good” she said, running her fingers through her hair before taking a sip from her own drink. “No need to threaten me again, Kane. I'm on your side.”
He pursed his lips, then the anger made room for a smile to spread on his face, endearing and trustful and he gave her a nod. “Fings can only go up'ill from 'ere. Tonight's deal's gunna make evrehfin' wif Alfonso look like a petty teenage feud.”
Jade raised her eyebrows, setting down her glass. “Tonight's deal?” She asked, tilting her head to the side as she stared back at him inquisitively.
Kane's eyes widened momentarily. “Oh, fookin'ell...” he drawled after a short pause. “I swear tha' boy is gunna...” He sighed, shaking his head, raking his heavily-jeweled fingers through his short hair. “Reyht, dun't want ya finkin' tha' Al dun't trust yeh, alreyht? 's onleh me and Serena tha' kno' and I thought 'e would've told ya, but 'e wanted to protect ya, rehyt...”
“Protect me?” She asked, despite his words, her first initial thought was as predicted that he did indeed not trust her, that there was some huge business deal she did not know about despite having been under the now seemingly naïve impression that he wasn't afraid to share things with her anymore, that he valued her opinion and input, that he allowed her to be a part of what he worked on.
“Al were worried it weren't gunna go through, so 'e bareleh told anybodeh, bareleh aneh of the men tha' are gunna escort 'im there tonight even kno' wha' it is and when you were taken by Alfonso, 'e 'ad to be more careful. But dun't yeh understand this, 's 'ard to figure 'im out sumtimes. 's joost business.”
Jade nodded, then when the waiter returned busied herself with eating, couldn't find it in her to speak more about Adriana, because she was not worth it, could not tell Kane any more about the meeting, because it didn't matter now, as well as Adriana, it was in the past, and what was in the very pressing present was the fact that Alexander had been working on something, a deal so important he had specifically chosen not to tell her, nor anyone, which only showed how much of an important event he'd been directly keeping from her.
She could tell that Kane realised that it were his words that had spiraled her into thoughts that rendered her words rather sparse, but despite his attempts that she knew were probably more than reasonable, they hardly mattered when all she could think about was to confront Alexander and as soon as she set foot in the headquarters, she steered for his office, had already knocked on the door before Helders behind her could stop her.
“A moment” came Alexander's deep drawl from the other side of the heavy door.
Jade crossed her arms in front of her chest, turned her head slightly to look back at Helders who stood expressionless, patient, yet ready to move if she tried to enter, and she knew it was only going to cause more trouble.
After a few moments of silence passing, the door opened, Cook holding it for Serena to pass who gave Jade a nod, more approval than she had ever received from her, but she fought to not let that distract her, to appreciate the shift at a later time when she knew if she even should be seeking approval from her rather than Alexander.
“Jade.”
Alex rose in his chair, nodded for Matthew and Jamie to wait outside, then walked around his desk, closing the buttons at the ends of his suit jacket's sleeves, the matte black suit once again drawing Jade's attention to something she wasn't there to pay attention too, it was as well-fitted as she remembered it from this morning, the rings on his fingers made her head spin with wild imagination, and she resisted the temptation to touch him when she got close enough to do so, pressed her lips together when instead, his hands found their way to her hips so effortlessly to draw her in the way he pleased, yet the softness in his eyes was replaced with a look of concern, alert even when he saw the fire in her eyes.
“Wha' is it, pupa?” He asked, the depth of his voice straining, on edge.
She raised an eyebrow, gave him another moment to realise what she was waiting for, then took a breath and curved her body into his. “What's happening tonight?”
She saw him swallow visibly, his adam's apple stretching over his throat, yet the look in his eyes remained unchanged, locked on hers, firm. “There's a deal.”
Her eyes darkened, her fingers smoothing down his jacket, gentle as opposed to the look in her eyes as she stared back at him, waiting, expectant of more, but nothing came, he was going to make her work for an answer, the authority on his face that she was always aware of now apparent and intense in power she had not observed and really been influenced by in a while, almost as if he was putting her in a position where she would feel her behaviour was unjust, especially towards him, as if he was in the right, as if it was the first time she'd demanded trust, and it almost had her giving in to not allow him the satisfaction, because he was so sure of himself, so sure of his own choices, which had her simultaneously undeniably attracted to him, and absolutely driven furious.
But she'd learned. She was not going to let him get away with something she had long ago figured out. “You didn't tell me” she stated, her face expressionless, unfazed by his indifference, determined to not allow him his usual effortless victory.
“Dun't do this, Jade” he said, giving a slight shake of his head, a hint of annoyance flickering across his face. He was exhausted.
She swallowed, remembered the night before, remembered how frustrated he'd gotten when she had told him she wasn't going to betray him, that he already knew, felt betrayed now that she knew she should've known better, but doubted him nonetheless, while at the same time expecting him not to. “I thought that we-...”
“Yes” he said, cutting her off, a darkness in his eyes that rendered her speechless instantly, his grip tightening on her hips, his gaze hard. “Weh are.” He licked his lips. “I kno' wha' yeh're finkin' now, but I'm not 'avin' tha'. Yehr mind's as sensational as yehr beauteh, Jade. After last night, y'kno' tha' I trust yeh. I've arranged all the securiteh teh take yeh along. Since I've been plannin' it.”
He'd once again managed to make her doubt her own actions, made her doubt her doubts, and gave her a sense she'd so often given him, in the most difficult, yet eye-opening way. “Why didn't you tell me?” She asked quietly, couldn't help herself, needed a straight-forward answer.
“Didn't wanna beh fookin' embarrassed, did I?” He muttered, giving a slight roll of his eyes, yet pulling her closer, her body pressed against his. “Can't risk anehfin' if the deal dun't go through so I didn't fookin' tell anehbodeh.” He sighed. “Jade.”
She breathed shakily, raising her eyebrows expectedly. “Yes?”
“Dun't fookin' do this. Fookin' trust meh, pupa. I kno' wha' I'm doin', I kno' yeh kno' when I'm playin' wif yeh, if I lie teh yeh. D'yeh realleh fink I'd joost try and keep summat like tha' from yeh this way because I dun't trust yeh?”
She pressed her lips together, kept herself from gritting her teeth, her gaze slowly softening and she sighed when she felt his lips meet hers, forced her lips to part for him and her tongue to dance with his, taking the lead to get her to submit, to get her to relax and bring her to her senses, his hands warm against her skin, the scent and taste of smoke mixing with the spice of his cologne and a hint of whisky, she couldn't get enough, now pressing her body up against his, her curves begging to be bent to his will.
He drew away too soon, even his eyes pulling her in when his lips were no longer on hers, had her under his spell that she'd fallen for a million times, found herself submitting to, begging him silently to take care of her. “You're taking me with you?” She asked, instantly switched on to impress him, to be of use. “What do you want me to do?”
He nodded, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth, his gaze softening, a look that had her reassured effortlessly. “Yeh're me pretteh accessoreh” he teased, moving his hand to brush her hair back, his gaze wandering down her body slowly before snapping back up to lock her eyes once more. “Yeh're gunna watch 'n learn. 's one of the most important deals I've ever done. And yeh're gunna see, yeh're gunna make them see yeh. Alreyht?”
She nodded understandingly, his instructions fuelling her desire to impress him, eager to please. “Alright.” She attempted to step back, expecting him to send her away instantly so he could work, but he cupped the back of her head, his thumb smoothing down her hair, had her melting into his touch, understanding now that she'd once again made a fool of herself.
“Jade.”
“Alexander?”
He chuckled. “Y'kno' I trust yeh.”
She nodded slowly, licking her lips. “I do.”
He stroked his knuckles gently across her cheek. “There'll beh sumfin' teh celebrate tonight, principessa” he stated. “I promise.”
The look in his eyes had her skin tingling, the assurance almost like a threat, and she knew how success fired him up, fuelled the already irresistible confidence into something that had her attracted to him beyond reason.
Excitement spread through her when she exited the office, felt more sure in herself, fuelled in her confidence she now was once reassured in carrying unapologetically, stopping when she heard Alexander call Helders back.
“A moment, Maffew.”
Alex made sure to wait until Jade had stopped, stood within his sight outside the door before he turned his attention towards his head of security.
“Boss, she 'eaded right for yehr office when weh came in.”
“And sheh can” Alex said, his eyes darkening. “Wha'ever sheh wants goes through meh first. Wha'ever sheh wants, sheh gets.”
-
Clad in a long jumpsuit, tight and fitted perfectly to her body, Jade stepped out of the car behind Alexander, let go of Helders' hand, then turned around and waited. Her hair was done up in a high ponytail, her clothing practical rather than distracting, but Alexander had not taken his hand off her ever since she'd met him in the entrance hall and he'd led her to the car, as soon as he stood beside her once more, his hand found her hip and he pulled her to his side possessively.
The importance of the deal left her surprised at the small number of security with them, besides the two of them, there were only Helders, Cook, and one more member of security stepping up on the small secluded space at the edge of the docks, shielded by the large containers and the darkness that the street lamps didn't manage to drown.
Before long, another long black car arrived, the headlights turning off once again dipping them in a scene lit mainly by the moon, several moments passed before the door in the back opened, two large men in suits that resembled Alexander's henchmen stepping out before they held the door open for a third man, equally as well-dressed in a dark suit, but despite the sunglasses on his face, Jade could only with great strength suppress her initial shock when she recognised what kind of contact they were faced with, had passed his face so many times on campaign posters in the streets, and she swallowed hard when Alexander stepped forward and away from her, Cook and the other security guard unloading several boxes from the trunk of the car.
She was surprised by the small capacity of the deal, that it was all in the one car, that Alexander and his contact were there personally, little security, exchanging a nod of mutual respect and equal acknowledgement, shades drawn, and when Alexander stepped forward and shook his hand, Jade had never been more attracted to him, there was so much confidence, more than ever he was sure of himself, sure that he was untouchable, even out in the open by the water with minimal security, stepping back and scratching the bridge of his nose as he observed Cook placing down the commodity between them.
A simple nod and one of the security men opposite them stepped up to open the top box. “It's all packed properly” he called back to his superior.
Alexander's jaw tensed, his brows furrowing. “Of course it is” he said, his voice calm and collected but Jade could sense the underlying danger, anger coiling beneath the surface. “Who d'yeh fink I am?”
“Mr. Turner, I'm just making sure.”
Jade reacted instantly when she saw Alexander wave her over, reaching into the top pocket of his suit to retrieve his cigarettes, lighting one quickly and placing it between his lips, adjusting his collar as he took the smoke between his fingers and took a deep breath, blowing the smoke slowly up towards the night sky. “Evrehfin's there” he drawled. “No pickin' it up until I've got me moneh. And yehr word tha' yeh're gunna continue teh 'onour our alliance.”
The other man nodded, waving to his other henchman to carry over a suitcase, opening it and letting Helders inspect the contents before he snapped it shut, Helders carrying it to the back of the car at the same time as his counterparts picked the boxes up that stood between the two different parties. “You have my word. Soon you'll be making deals with the new mayor.”
Alex chuckled darkly. “Yeh 'ave me vote.”
Another nod, both his henchmen retreating to the car. “It'll benefit you, Mr. Turner. You run a successful business, within the city and beyond it.”
“Yes, I do.”
“Things can only go uphill for you.”
“And you” Alex stated, looking slowly from him to Jade, following his gaze.
“It's been a pleasure making business with you. And your lovely bird. Never seen anyone so relaxed around you, Turner.”
“Good luck with the election” Alex responded, his arm locking possessively around Jade again, then he guided her to turn around and head back to the car, making sure she got in first before he followed, all tension lifting from his body when they drove out and away from the docks first, the lights of the city much brighter, illuminating his face as they rushed by and Jade watched his features flicker in the darkness, inching closer to him where he sat, his hand on her hip not enough for her as they sat in the backseat.
She fiddled with his chain, her body facing his from the side, the three men sat around them the only thing keeping her from climbing into his lap. She could tell he was satisfied, pleased with himself and how smoothly things had gone, after everything, Kane was right, this success made everything else seem unimportant.
Her heart skipped a beat when he turned his head and locked her eyes, an irresistible half-smirk plastered on his face that had her leaning closer, brushing his hair back, reveling in the way he leaned into her touch, stretching his jaw slightly, his eyes wide. “I'm impressed, baby.”
He chuckled. “Well, 's easeh when people dun't fookin' disrespect meh. Told yeh there'd be summat teh celebrate.” He leaned closer, brushing her hair to the side slowly to press his lip against her ear. “Get down on yehr knees 'n treat meh like the fookin' maestro I am when weh get 'ome and I'll show yeh joost 'ow fookin' impressive I can beh.”

Look At Me! - Matt
TW: blood and verbal fighting 🪞🪞🪞🪞🪞🪞🪞🪞🪞🪞🪞🪞🪞🪞🪞🪞🪞🪞🪞🪞
The car ride was silent you and Matt had been invited for drinks with Nick and Kelly earlier that day before Matt had fucked up... before everything crumbled.
"Look y/n it's not my fault-" he began before you interrupted him, not needing to hear what he had to say. He had said enough today. It was your turn to talk.
"Yes, no, of course, it's not Matthew, it never is, it's not your fault that you came home drunk... again, it's not your fault you stood me up on our anniversary. Those were all definitely times where it was impossible to say 'sorry I have to go back home to the person who loves me and cares for me, the person that-" you began to talk but as always he cut you off.
"Please don't act like you're such an angel y/n you are always moaning and groaning about everything I do-" "Please, Matt, just shut up I don't want to fight with you right now"
You pulled into the pub holding back the tears as you greeted Kelly while Matt immediately got a shot of whiskey, then two and then three. As you were spilling out to Kelly about him, he came over drunk already.
"What have I done now, are you telling Kelly how much of a prick I am, well I'm here now aren't I, I'm here making a fool out of myself for you. I don't know what you want from me"
"I want you to stop fucking drinking! And I want you to look at me like nick looks at Kelly like Jamie looks at Katie, HELL LIKE AL LOOKS AT MARGARITAS AND BISCUITS" you sobbed at him getting everyone's attention.
"Y/n I'm... I didn't mean to yell-" he started to say, taken aback by the way you had responded to his anger, you never yelled.
"Well you did Matt, so- so... FUCK RIGHT OFF" Matt sunk and walked away, feeling like a complete arse.
You heard a bang and then a "shit!" From the bathroom. Matt walked out holding his wrist and his knuckle bruised and bloody. You ran over to him, your instinct kicking in. "You bloody idiot, what did you do" you widened your eyes at him. "I- I punched the door and then...the mirror didn't break as I wanted it to, so I punched the mirror and.." Matt trailed off, still not completely realising how much pain he was in.
"I'm sorry Matt, I shouldn't have yelled at you," you began to cry again "what?! Please don't ever apologise to me for something I did, I love you y/n and I'm gonna be there more from here on in" "I love you too, Matthew J. Helders" "Hospital?" He questioned, looking down at you. "Most definitely" you both marched out of the pub-like toy soldiers goofing around to take his mind from the pain.

After the kiss in front of the paparazzi when they come back to the bus and the rest of the monkeys would have seen the pics I imagine Matt would make so many jokes about them
Oh yes! I have no doubt about it 💜
Everyone would be staring at them when they walked in with a knowing grin. They would walk in hand in hand when they would look around at everyone they would be like: what
Matt: oh nothing
Wheels: your grinning like you’ve just knocked out that guy from Radiohead
Alex *laughing*: ha he wishes
Jamie: don’t put a downer on his mood by bringing up Radiohead
Wheels: what’s with the grin Helders, was Bre extra nice to you when we left?
Breana *chuckling*: ah no, but you’re on the right lines
Matt: is Matthew Helders Turner on the way?
*Alex rolls his eyes, Wheels just shakes her head*
Wheels: you’re actually obsessed
Matt: no I just saw a very passionate kiss on a park bench and though you might have ventured into the woodland and got frisky
Wheels: In the woods, are you joking?
Jamie: well there’s a lot of wood there. Not out of the question. You may have got confused
Wheels *sarcastically*: ah yes I often get confused between a penis and a tree. Christ, I didn’t go and meet up with George
Alex *wide eyed*: what the fuck
Wheels *shrugs*: he’s got big dick energy
Matt: stop diverting, Alex would you care to explain what happened at the park?
Alex: we went for a walk and clearly some people followed us and sold some pictures very quickly
Nick: can’t believe you gave them something on purpose
Wheels: oh chill out, it’s not like we stripped and gave them a live sex show
Jamie: boringgggg
Katie *joking*: you could have gone a little more adventurous
Matt: yeah Al, a cheeky finger never hurt anyone
*Wheels jaw drops and Alex’s eyes go wide. Everyone else gasps then tries not to laugh*
Alex *annoyed* what the fuck Helders
Wheels *shocked and desperately trying not to get flustered*: you’re actually filthy
Matt *shrugs*: well, you’re both so all over each other we wouldn’t be surprised if a quickie of whatever sort took place. Just surprised you both did it publicly because you’re not denying it
Wheels: not that it’s any of your business but he did not
Matt: no handjob either? You’re breaking his heart Y/N/N
Wheels *getting embarassed and leaning into Alex to hide a bit*: stop
*Alex is shooting daggers at this point, Jamie is trying not to cackle and Nick is trying to remain calm. The other girls are all silently giggling*
Matt: you’re not denying it, you finally let the blue balls go Al? Proud of you two
*Alex giving a look that could kill*
Wheels: you’re twisting an innocent kiss. I’m going for a nap before you twist things more *heads down the bus*
Matt: oh Alex will be down in a minute I’m sure
*Wheels flips him off and Matt chuckles watching her leave. But then he turns back to Alex who looks about ready to murder, and matt gulps knowing he’s in for it*
Alex *looking Matt dead in the eye*: run
