I certainly learned the hard way that you should really check who is running zines before you go and apply to them. In my experience, it is really easy to get star-struck by the idea of being a part of a zine, especially for me because my first Zine was so awesome and led to me making friends that I hold close to my heart today

I didn't even do a dive into who was running it until well into the process of the Ninjago Au Zine, and when I did I found things that I personally found strange

I can't even say for sure that IF I had looked into who was running that zine prior to applying it would have stopped me honestly. If im a fly then that zine was a deceptively bright light, and let me tell you girl i was FLYING

#in a little fairness to myself i trusted the validity of the zine because I knew someone who worked on another zine #now i know to check despite that #lesson learned i swear #also this is not a jab at anyone but mere commentary about my experiences with zines #which should be clear but ive learned recently i gotta pull a zane ninjago and state the obvious #zines #ninjago
