honestly I think Ed would melt if Stede just started casually calling him terms of endearment in different languages, and when Ed asks what they mean and Stede excitedly explains Ed would dissolve completely.

Stede is thrilled to pour over his collection of Latin poetry for inspiration, and even more excited to explain the meanings and context to someone who actually wants to listen.

#i tried to write some dialogue to go with this but I dont like it #it's been too long since i watched it idk i dont have their voices atm #woes of emily #ofmd #blackbonnet #gentlebeard #when i say languages i am explicitly thinking of latin btw. not just like. idk french or whatever #which. maybe Stede does that too but that's less exciting #i just...man #im just thinking about how good it would make them both feel #stede obviously loves reading and languages. ed would enjoy listening and learning and enjoy stede talking about something he loves #ed. feeling the new words. the fact that stede is saying these things to him! these are his words now #maybe he sometimes says them to stede too. and maybe it feels weird at first. in the way speaking another language always does #maybe he does it as a joke. or. a half joke. #just in case he does it wrong. just in case stede thinks he's stupid for trying #(which of course he never would) #but then slowly he says them more often. they become just regular pet names between them...mi carissime #sorry my posts are so soppy atm it's lonely hours over here #what if ed intentionally started calling Stede like. latin animal names too ajskja like specifically the name of that moth they saw #was it a moth? or a butterfly? idk this is what im saying. ive forgotten half of the show lol
