The war was finally over.

Alerie had been heavily pregnant with her littlest one during the rough of it all, and her husband off fighting. She was left to the graces of her good mother Olenna and was thankful for the small break from her husband humming in pleasure at the idea of another son. Instead she gave birth to the prettiest little rose in the gardens and she was sure her husband would be a bear with a thorn in its paw at the fact he didn’t have four sons to boast about. She was simply happy for another healthy child.

She rejoined her husband at King’s Landing where there was a massive celebration of the coronation of the new king. Alerie brought all of her children with her, with baby Margaery strapped to her chest while the boys all disappeared from her view to chase after each other and find new friends to make. Mace was spending more time talking with other lords, no doubt trying to gain favors and muddle what he had done during the war. He had told his mother who had told her and she planned to make her husband regret his actions once they were back home.

Making her way through the crowds Alerie spotted the woman of the hour. Along with the coronation there had been a wedding and she wanted to speak to the new bride and queen. “Your grace.” She called politely, coming over to Cersei’s side. “A pleasure your grace, Alerie Tyrell.” Alerie bowed as well as she could with a babe strapped to her. Thankfully the girl was the sweetest babe and was deeply asleep even as her mother had been moving around and talked to multiple people.

“I hope you don’t mind me being to forward for coming over to speak to you. I wanted to congratulate you on your new marriage and title.” It wasn’t every day that you married and became queen in one ceremony. “And to offer any advice as a mother and wife you wish to ask for. I am aware of…well you’re late mother passed to soon to pass on some later lessons..”

okay !!  so i’m seeing my favorite band of all time tomorrow night for the second time this month, but i am off on wednesday ( minus the dentist appointment i have right at noon ), so hold me accountable.

He watches as the sun makes its slow ascent above the city and he realises he has not slept since the previous morning. He had watched the sunrise then, too. But Cersei had been in his arms. He lays abed alone now.

Doubtless she will wake in wedded bliss a few hours from now. She had been so eager for the marriage, so eager to become Queen. She had played the blushing bride, accepted her new husband's kisses and caresses.

Jaime had stolen away to his rooms before the bedding. He had opened the throat of the last king he had been sworn to protect. He would not do it again.

Once the sun is fully risen, he rises too, commanding his serving boy to draw him a bath. He wallows in the warm water for perhaps a little too long, trying to make sense of what his life means now. He is certain Cersei will no longer need him. After all, she has the great Robert Baratheon to satisfy her every need now. He could most like steal away from King's Landing and she would hardly notice.

He eventually makes his way to the hall to break his fast and is somewhat startled to see her sitting alone, looking a far cry from the picture of joy she had been a day ago. It is then that he elects to leave his food and instead approaches the dais at which she sits. As hurt as he is, she seems to be hurting too. He will not neglect her.

"Your grace," he gives an exaggerated bow. "Might I escort you for a walk around the city walls?"
