Regret....
I was asked if I now regret taking the kids on this trip. Short answer is no. I am a firm believer in not having regrets but looking back we could have done things differently. We took our eldest to the Philippines when she was about 2 and half. She was amazing, she loved seeing sights, eating new things and generally being a legend. She did however get in an elevator by herself in our 47 story apartment building, fell over and gave herself a fat lip and then fell over in Singapore knocking herself unconscious and stopped breathing. This meant a $1,800 hospital stay and missing our flights home, it was still a good trip (up until that point) and we thought that Europe would be no different (minus the hospital stay). We made one fatal flaw when we planned this trip. We did not realise that when our friends with multiple children explained how different each child was, how literal they were being. Not only are our girls like chalk and cheese in personality are they completely different in habits as babies. While the first born slept well (still does) and was generally a happy wee bub when we went anywhere, the youngest has reflux so spent the first 3 months doing a lot of screaming, she hated the car so she screamed every car ride for 4 months (I was literally scared to travel further than woollies) and generally she needs to be attached to one of us (or one of my boobs) at all times. So booking flights when she was just jumbling around in my tummy was a fab idea. Also we booked it for her being 10 months because we thought she wouldn’t be walking yet (she’s not) and we could keep her happy most of the time. So insert *big sigh and an admission that travelling with 2 kids is HARD. We always maintained that we would continue to travel with kids “travel with kids they said, it will be fun they said” and we probably will continue to do so. However this trip has taught us that we are not expendable and we need to modify holidays when we have a baby in tow. Stay in only 2 places (not 6 cities over 3 European countries) leave more days free (gone are the days where we pack in our days, have a pint and go to bed), PACK LESS (way less, more than less) and don’t drag unsuspecting family and friends with you without pre warning of what they are getting into. Grandma was well aware, Sandra has been amazing with the girls and Rizza seems reveling in having 2 nieces who have warmed to him. Everyone has been a huge help and we love what we do! So no regrets, just the benefit of hindsight and some interesting stories to tell when the girls are older.

Throwback to the time my brother and I decided that regular monopoly was too easy...so we combined four boards and created a money conversion rate. And yes, the pieces did move from board to board... #monopoly #wemustbecrazy

Last night I cleaned out the fridge and pantry in prep for the ENTIRE family to start the Daniel Plan tomorrow. I would guess at least 70% of the good we were eating was empty carbs and calories. Here's to the prayer that we all survive the next few days of sugar, carb, and caffeine withdrawal. ... Gulp. #danielplan #wemustbecrazy #youneverknowuntilyoutry
