you know what *I* think is sick is the idea of a keyboard port on a 3d printer so you can search and sort files and edit firmware and gcode without having to go back and forth between the machine and your pc. i think that would be fucking cool as hell. but everyones just decided on hacking together "streamlined interfacing" predicated on having an active wifi connection the whole time your machines working instead of actually making the machine usable. like i am not the type to praise commercial industry standard practices but come ON you REALLY just are not at all interested in having an actual straight interface to the thing at all??

#especially with newer firmwares that take advantage of us not Literally Being In The 8-Bit Era Anymore and let you change firmware without #rebooting im a fan of the way klipper does like everything but i think reprapfirmware also allows you to edit the firmware by treating it as #gcode. but i dislike their ecosystem and the founder is a dick on the reprap forums. #literally just drops in on every thread where someones trying to get help with or modify or develop printer motherboards or firmware to say #well uhh i think your project kind of sucks. luckily im here to save you from blowing yourself up because im the only engineer in a world of #monkeys and you can just use my hardware and firmware instead. which i have so graciously provided open source. dont worry that its 3x as #expensive as literally everything else and is effectively proprietary and i shit on chinese manufacturing.
