summer in Oregon is a different experience entirely. We had a snow storm somewhat recently ( I think in April or May.. can't remember at the moment ) and its been wet ALMOST ALL THE TIMe.
( for whatever reason my delete key isn't working smh )
But now its a boiling 90 F and I almost died of a heatstroke while mowing the lawn 馃サ
We've been waiting for sooo long just to get this kind of weather because usually its just raining... A LOT .
Did the hot weather just start for you too?
We've been a bit lucky so far even if we had summer days in earlier but yeah, that's about current temp we have when normal days of summer hit, anything like a heat wave can get to 38-40C sometimes for a day or two before the thunderstorm and it's Not Fun in this day of age of sun being a deadly laser.
We had a sudden snow on may one year, all of the new leaves and flowers froze before everything got snowed in for like a day or two, it was crazy. I remember exiting the uni after classes and saw a ton snow then one of the professors and couple of other staff carpooling offered me a ride down the hill the uni was located on so I wouldn't slip on my way down from sudden ice under the snow and hurt myself because I was NOT in my boots lol
It's been mostly normal since. Still, I am not built for heat at all lol

So I storm chase, usually during the summer but in recent years we've had some fall and even winter thunderstorms too cause of unnaturally warm weather, so I've got a lot of fun weather stories, but I'll send ya the weirder ones for ya! I'll send em in parts for simplicity's sake
Weirdest one by far: I was driving back home after following a storm about half an hour north of where I live, I'm on the highway goin straight south when I pass under this one crossroad bridge. A few seconds after I pass under the bridge, I see a green, perfectly straight and vertical beam flash in the horizon. Now, I've seen a lot of lightning in my life, and there's even more types that I haven't seen in person, but there is no lightning that looks like that. Google came up empty, too (1)
When I got home I literally raced inside with my dash cam to see if it caught it on tape, but I guess it wasn't bright enough or close enough for it to pick it up. It was fuckin weird, I still have no explanation for it. It was a similar color to some transformer explosion electricity, which like, there is such a thing as green lightning (which is much more common inside of thunderclouds and in volcanic eruptions, but still very rare) but this was a perfectly straight and vertical beam (2)
Needless to say, it was fuckin weird but really cool to see. I don't have any others that are AS weird as that, at least to me, but another weird happenstance actually happened during that same exact storm not even ten minutes before the green "lightning." That whole night during the storm, it was fuckin raining harder than I've ever seen before (which is saying a lot cause I've been in a EF-0 tornado, which is really just a bunch of wind and rain but still a tornado regardless) (3)
Anyways, I was just about to get on the bridge that crosses the Missouri River when all of a sudden it started raining so hard that I couldn't even see beyond what my headlights were shining, and even that was hard to parse, and at the same time I was hit with a dangerously strong gust of wind from the West, like full blown moved my car. Because of all that, I quickly pull over cause there's no way I'm gonna get on a bridge in conditions like that, and after a few seconds it calms down again (4)
That isn't necessarily the weird part, cause sudden strong wind and rain are easily explained and happen all the time. The weird part was that once I could see again, I realized every car around me had stopped too. Every god damn car. Not a single person moved until I started driving again. I didn't think about how weird that was until afterwards, like there are people who don't even stop for a literal tornado, but then suddenly everyone stops for some heavy rain and wind? (5)
Which like, yeah, it was EXTREMELY strong, but still, it was such a weird experience and I still remember it so vividly. That's only accentuated by the fact that it did nothing more than mist and hardly any wind after that until I crossed the river, then it picked up after I got to the other side. Again, that's easily explained but it's still just wild when you put everything together. That I do actually have footage of, and even my mom and sister thought it was wild (6?)
I feel like I've sent ya enough asks already and I don't wanna keep blowing up your notifs so I'll stop there bdbbdbdbbd, I hope they help with whatever it is you're lookin for!

these are fucking SPECTACULAR, dude, thank you so much!!!
