Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ Miracles of Christmas movie events kick off October 21st with Christmas movies airing 24/7 including 40 new premieres!

I’ll be sharing posters, previews, movie stills, reviews, and making gifs of every single new holiday movie coming our way across the Hallmark networks.

We’ll also be kicking off the 4th Annual Hallmark Christmas Movie Bracket with weekly polls to vote on our favorite movies and crown the winner!

i've been neglecting this blog, sorry. hallmark christmas movies have consumed my life. go follow my blog @watchinghallmark if you're also into that sort of thing.

things should be calming down soon hopefully so i can get back into making other gifs. i'm not quite sure what to gif anymore though. i'll still do some more of ryan since you guys love him (who doesn't?) and i still plan to go back through 1923 and gif more of that. i still have a bunch of hell on wheels season 5 gifs to come too.

let me know if there's a show you think i should check out and possibly gif.

Did you hear Jane Seymour and Joe Lando are going to be in a Christmas movie together?

YES! I wish it were for Hallmark because they have the better movies (and I have a blog for them @watchinghallmark which you should all be following) but this is exciting news! It'll be fun to see them together now after so long.

And for anyone worried about access, I can share a few links to stream the movie when the time comes.

If anyone has more gif requests from the season, let me know. I still have some requested prior that I'll be working through hopefully soon but no guarantees.

I seem to be so swamped with life lately and Countdown to Christmas starts up on Friday (with Kevin's movie Checkin' it Twice) so I'll be busy with my Hallmark blog @watchinghallmark - come give it a follow if you're not already over there participating in all the polls and movie discussions.

I plan to start a rewatch of the series eventually. It'll probably be more of a casual thing that people can join in with if they'd like to. More on that later.

But anyway. Let me know what you'd like to see. Let me know if you have any ideas of fun things we can do here during the hiatus now that more people seem to be around and interested. Maybe I'll put up some polls every once in a while. Feel free to keep sending in messages if you have any thoughts to share or if you come across something you think I/we should see.

Love At First Dance -

I do appreciate a meeting with a little attitude so that was fun.

I don't mind the fiancee.  She actually seems like a nice woman and appears to love him and is supportive.  There's gotta be something wrong though for us to accept him pretty much having an emotional affair.  

I'm liking the ease the leads have together.  They have some good banter but also some genuine conversations.

We learn the dude isn't into his office job which the fiancee is super into.  That's one for the con column.

Fiancee doesn't want to go into the pond so obviously it's over between them.  I wouldn't want to go in that water either.  I'm sure it's gross.

I really like Becca as a leading lady.  She just seems really normal and doesn't play things too over-the-top.  Hopefully she’s in one of the 32,968 upcoming Christmas movies.

The fiancee is very pretty.  She kind of looks like a mix of Meghan Ory and Jordana Brewster.

I love Hope's outfits a lot.

I'm liking this movie but let's see how the ending plays out.  Hopefully there's nothing weird that ruins it.

Eric goes with Hope to her audition and then blows off work to spend the day with her.  That's not concerning for his upcoming wedding.

He chose to leave the business!  He's choosing happiness!!!!  It must be nice to be rich and not have to worry about keeping your job so, you know, you can afford to live.  These movies are not relatable because everyone always has money and great jobs, etc.  Okay, so he didn't choose happiness but he will, obvi.  At least Hope is.

They said their goodbyes but they don't want to say goodbye!!!

The wedding is off!  At least it was a mature conversation about how they don't want the same things and all that stuff.

He showed up in London, of course.  And they danced!  That's cute.  Good ending!  Pretty good movie!

An American Story (HHoF 1992)

(aka "After the Glory") When George (Brad Johnson) and his fellow WWII veterans return to their Texas hometown, they are stunned by the local government's rampant corruption and decide it is up to them to make a change.

"For some of us--maybe all of us--going home would only mean the end of one war and the beginning of another.  We fought together but we'd go home alone."  That's a powerful statement to kick off the movie.

OMG IT'S LITTLE BRIAN FROM DQMW!!!!!!!  He had a very small part but it was exciting to see him.

The airplane one of the guys comes home on has a naked lady painted on the side of the cockpit and it say 'Ready 4 Duty'.  Interesting.

I didn't do a live-blog sort of thing with this movie because I was so into it!  This movie was incredible.  WOW.  The description does not do it justice at all.  The cast was amazing and the story was really good.  It dealt with realities of men coming home from war and adjusting to life.  It dealt with racism and gender roles.  There was unexpected action.  It was one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time.

I would highly recommend it!  Please watch it and let me know what you thought!
