OP’s note: A ton of people think that he and Kim Nam Gil look a lot like each other, and I’ve always known that. BUT I had no idea that he was born on the exact same day as Kim Nam Gil until now. WHAT ARE THE ODDS THAT THEY LOOK LIKE EACH OTHER, WERE BORN ON THE SAME DAY, AND BOTH BECAME ACTORS????!!! Happy birthday to Kim Nam Gil too! PS. this is the actor from Day and Night/白夜追凶, a 2017 crime cdrama that I just keep recommending to people. They’ll finally start shooting season 2 next month!

going on weibo today, and saw 白夜追凶2 (day and night 2) trending! rumor says that they’ll start to film the 2nd season in april with all the original cast back...one of the supporting actors wu wenjing actually made a post about this, so i’m assuming that it was not a rumor. i mean, i remember last year, pan yueming was in contact with director wang wei, which kinda signified that this project had not died completely. 

so i’m like fuck yes. we’ve all been waiting for the 2nd season for almost 6 years. i hope wang wei can finally settle on a script that he likes. it was butchered due to censorship in the past, and he said that he’d rather not film it if the story he wanted to tell couldn’t be told.

anyways, this was THE ONE show that dragged me back to cdramas in 2017. this was also the first chinese web series that was bought by netflix. i tried to get the tumblr original sin fandom to watch this show back in late 2018/early 2019, but nobody seemed to be able to get into it. i means, the plot was not without flaws, but i promise you that the acting of the leads was so good, and the chemistry between them was so good too. also i ship guan hongfeng x zhou xun so damn hard, so fucking damn hard lol. you have no idea how much time i spent on lofter back in 2017 just to consume content about them. 

if we’ll get to see season 2 in the next couple years, i’ll gif the fuck out of this show just for myself, because i owe it to pang yueming and wang longzheng (i was on gif hiatus when the 1st season aired unfortunately, but i love both of them so damn much, and they need to be on my middle aged actor directory).
