what I love is that Owens made it clear to El from the beginning that the literal entire world is at stake, and she voidsdropped Nancy's whole apocalypse prophecy including a specific mention of the entire Wheeler family meeting some horrific fate, and yet El never frames this plan as anything but "protect Max." not "save the world" or "save Hawkins" or "save Mike". just Protect Max.
