明けましておめでとうございます。

突然だが、僕はメガネが好きだ。ファッションとしてはもちろん、道具としてとても気に入っている。

僕はもともと視力が良く、ファッションとしてメガネと付き合っていた。しかし、とあるメガネ屋さんとの出会いにより、「逆に視力を落とすメガネを作る」ことになり、結果的に意味をもってメガネをかけられることになった。まさか、メガネへのこんなアプローチの仕方があるとは思いもよらなかった。ただし、レンズは球面しか選択できず、憧れのフラットレンズは諦めることになった。

その後、いわゆるビンテージ のメガネでフレンチやイングランド、そしてアメリカのものをdigし、結局落ち着いたのは「セルフレームのウェリントンが無難」と言う結論。それも「やっぱVintageのTART OPTICALはかっこいい」と言うオチ付きで。

OLIVER GOLDSMITHもカッコ良いし所有しているが、いかんせん僕の薄顔には似合わない。全てのモノに言えるけど、世の中には使ってみたいと思うモノと、所有しておきたいと思うモノがある。そう、OGは所有しておきたいモノだ。

と言うことで、今はTART ARNELとFDR、REGENCY BRYANを主に使っている。他にメタルフレームで水島眼鏡を使っているが、これはもう別枠。貴金属である。

もうずっと探しているメガネがある。MAY OPTICALのビンテージ 、46-22のデミアンバーかハニーアンバー。 何が言いたいかと言うと、 どなたかお年玉ください。
