Through a mirror darkly. And here the man who holds the glass is darker still. L’rell. Defeated in armed combat after a bioengineered virus decimated his Klingon homeworld. The Romulans. All (presumed) dead after committing mass suicide to prevent being subjugated by the Terran Empire. And Sarek. Ambassador Sarek. Decapitated on the steps of the Vulcan Science Academy in front of a crowd that included his wife and son. And all carried out by the same withering hand... the greatest general Earth has ever seen. The most bloodthirsty, merciless, ruthless tyrant to ever set out to conquer the galaxy. Khan Noonien-Singh.
My real name is La'an Noonien-Singh. My ancestor is Khan Noonien-Singh. And his legacy is genocide, torture… and me.

“Huh.” Resonance was a powerful thing, something sensed rather than an act of conscious decision. Plants naturally connected with one another, the worms were tricky but distinct, and humans were only the scum that was hardly worth acknowledgement. But the one that stood before him didn’t provide such wavelengths; their humanity wasn’t entirely present.
Knives had a memory just as sharp as his organic blades. He didn’t recall sending for a cyborg.
“Well? Don’t tell me you’re an assassin.”

it’s all about the yearning.
@shaepshiftd sent: ❝  i was sort’ve hoping you needed me.  is that selfish?  ❞
“No.. It’s not.” He had brought her back to reality, tethered her to Earth and released her from the haze of her Father’s influence; been there when she needed someone the most. With abilities that tended to bring out their most monstrous side, it was like no one understood her as well as Garfield did.

“I do need you,” she murmured, gaze slipping to the ground, perhaps a little embarrassed by her earnest words, a slight tint of redness exposing itself on her cheeks. Fingers slipping up to tuck a hair behind her ear based on her nerves, before deciding that maybe she didn’t want her face to be on display, pushing the dark locks back to shield her cheeks like a curtain. “And maybe there’s selfish part of me that hopes that you need me too.”

ORIGINS & NATURE OF THE SEKAI KI
Tumblr media
You see, this isn’t the first time that the Sekai Ki has done something like this. Where it easily became the object of worship for humanity, proceeded to pick a random woman from a specific family of it’s choosing to serve as it’s ‘Guardian’ and then over the years slowly grow more powerful as it went through ‘Guardian’ after ‘Guardian’, until a certain point where it’ll take over the ‘Guardian’ and use her to destroy the world. No, this is a cycle that has been ongoing for tens of millennia. And it began over 50,000 years ago, with one woman named Yuzuki Kimura ( 降雪 湧月 or lit. Spring Moon Tree Village).
Yuzuki is the true name of the Sekai Ki, with the Sekai Ki only serving the purpose of being a host for her to use after the loss of her physical body. The Sekai Ki has existed for over 50,000 years, ever since this cycle began- it always being the only thing intact whenever the world ends time and time again. As for Yuzuki, she was originally a powerful woman from an age long gone now, an alchemist who specialized in poisons. A woman who deserved not a bit of the power she possessed. A woman who used it for her own ends, for her own ideals. Whether it through manipulation, torture, murder, what have you, she wasn’t a good person, nor had she ever been.
Her selfishness, her self serving and greedy nature only grew and grew until she desired the very world under her thumb. The only way to that was, of course, to become a God. For obvious reasons, a mortal becoming a God is practically impossible, and Yuzuki was well aware of that fact- but you see, she believed there to indeed be a way.
Yuzuki proceeded to poison and kill several of the most powerful sorcerers and fellow alchemists of her world, stealing their power for herself in an attempt to make herself as powerful as a God. But eventually, the remaining leaders of her world realized what she was doing, and a battle broke out that lasted over a month between Yuzuki and humanity itself. It was a brutal battle that cost the lives of nearly two thirds of humanity due to Yuzuki by that point having attained immense power and attaining even more with the more humans she killed, stealing their power as well.
Eventually, the remaining leaders managed to destroy Yuzuki’s physical form- but at the cost of the rest of humanity, for Yuzuki when her physical body was about to turn to nothingness chose to implode in on herself and destroy whatever was left of humanity.
“ If I cannot be your God...if I cannot be the greatest of all humans...then I will destroy all humans, so no one can be the greatest in my place! You will pay for this with your lives! ”
That was the end of the first world, with Yuzuki’s spirit ending up finding itself within a sapling of a tree as the world began to repair itself, the tree growing into a large tree that stood above all others. But you see, that tree was also ‘mortal’. It would die someday, and Yuzuki would die with it. Whilst thankfully the tree could survive countless millennia- in that form, Yuzuki’s power was limited nor could she move or do anything. She was...a tree, as one could expect.
This was when Yuzuki hatched a plan. A plan that entailed a constant cycle of world destruction, over and over. As humans began to repopulate the world, Yuzuki began to use what little power she had to randomly pick a woman within a specific bloodline of her choosing (a specific bloodline because she didn’t want to make it completely random but at that point that was the most she could do in terms of randomness limitation) to become a ‘Guardian’ of hers quote unquote that she would leech off of, until she eventually reached a point of where she felt it necessary to possess the woman, destroy humanity and steal their vitality, feed off the woman she’s currently possessing for a few more years until inevitably she died of old age, end up returning to her tree body, and repeat.
A cycle of world destruction all to preserve the life of one woman whose time was long passed now. A cruel, horrible cycle. But thankfully one finally put to an end by the hand of the final ‘Guardian’ of Yuzuki, Hitori Yonaga, who realizes the truth and by her hand destroys the Sekai Ki and thus Yuzuki as well. Even while upon Yuzuki’s demise she released a poison that would consume the world, it was better for the world to end on it’s own terms in Hitori’s mind- and better yet, unbeknownst to Hitori, eventually the poison would fade from the world, and humanity would be able to rise again, without an evil tree lady secretly preserving her life by destroying them over and over again.
It may have taken the sacrifice of thousands upon thousands of worlds...but thankfully, in the end, thanks to Hitori, one final world without influence from the past can now rise in place of the past ones.
But as of this moment, that has yet to come to pass. For now, the time of Kyomushugi still is ongoing. For now, Hitori still lives, and her story is still unfolding...

Hymn to Sekhmet
by Joey Rivers (ascendingaeons)
Tumblr media
O Sekhmet, Great Eye of Ra, the First and the Last Healer and Destroyer, Mother and Daughter You Who accepted the Command of Ra, Your Father To cleanse the Two Lands of Isfet But Your nature was too mighty, Great of Strength as You Are Wanton and unrestrained, You ravaged Earth as a purifying flame And as Ra looked on and saw His Eye, He was stricken with pause By the Will of the Sun, Your Rage was quieted by a crimson brew And into transformative slumber You fell, Great Goddess And from Your great Rage, Het-Heru rose A new Eye was christened, of eros sublime And you, Great Mother, knew the sadness of regret
You, Great Goddess, know the measure of rage unbound And so You Stand, Great Mother of War, in defense and duty Of the Principles and Consequences of Ma’at Your Children are many, Great Lady of Life Diverse in their multitudes, empowered by their tribulation
Yours is the soldier, Your Mighty Sekhem made flesh and bone Entrenched in a maelstrom of fire and blood Returning home to a nation that does not understand him
Yours is the survivor, a living branch of Your burning Will triumphant Endeavoring to rise above the quagmire of loss and agony Through You their struggle is transmuted into the golden light of ka ascendant
Yours is the mother, she who knows sacrifice and sleepless nights A font unyielding of love and pride, of smiles and laughter perfected They who bear the weight of the world so a child can know childhood
Yours is the healer, an alchemist of the ontological persuasion He who is humbled by the frailty beholden to human experience He who ushers Your Sekhem through the riptide of transformative loss
Yours is the artist, through whose passions course Your Divine Fire Who walks the scales of inspiration and madness, knowing Creation unfiltered An alchemist versed in the milieus of perception
For You, Great Goddess, are the very Force of Change You are that which makes men tremble so Such an unnecessary fear, of wisdom and experience untouched Were I You, I would feel such sadness But how You smile, Great One! How You laugh! How You fight! You are not “she who cowers before Apep!” NO! You are the Great Lioness Who rends Chaos asunder! You fight and rage and bite and tear Passion and emotion alive and unrestrained!
You are Love, Great Goddess You are Fear, Great Goddess You are Devotion, Great Goddess You are Loss, Great Goddess You are Health, Great Goddess You are Sickness, Great Goddess This is why I call You the Mother of Life Your Ka is the very essence of experience! Your Sekhem is the very wind of change!
When I first called upon You, timid and unsure, I beheld Your Gaze, a window of fire open before my face And as quickly as You Saw me, You left And again when I called to You with offering of water and bread Exhausted by grief and devotion, tirelessly sung from a caregiver’s heart You came to me and my eyes were opened to You! As I lay without sleep, You stood at my bedside Stroking my back with strong hands of fire Whispering strength and courage into my ear As a sentinel You walked with me, a Mother Lioness guarding Her cub Such loyalty and tenderness You showed And my eyes were forever opened to Your nature
You are the very Force of Creation, the Monad of Being From which stems those primordial principalities Love and Fear, Physis and Logos, Known and Unknown Order and Disorder, Life and Death, Dynamism and Stasis
I offer henu to You, Great Goddess of Creation The endless potentiality and movement of the living cosmos The Fires Divine that Become living sinews and living earth
I offer henu to Your Husband Ptah, the Cosmic Smith Patron of artisans, of those who tirelessly toil In the pursuit of Bringing Into Being but a shard of the Sacred Unmanifest
I offer henu to Your Son, the Beautiful Nefertem The Ageless Lotus that rose from the Benben Stone The First Splendid Light to Shine in the churning Waters of Nun
It was You Who held my right hand as I accepted the mark of a healer And embraced me as a Mother would Her graduating son I offer You my pain, Great Goddess So that You may transmute it into Strength I offer You my fear, Great Goddess So that You may transmute it into Courage I offer You my uncertainty, Great Goddess So that You may transmute it into Wisdom
Into Your Belly I give of myself to unleash my greatest potential To burst from Your Bosom, shining and emboldened For there is nothing that is beyond Your Reach, Great Mother It is for me, now, to See that nothing is beyond my own
Dua Sekhmet! Dua Sekhmet! Dua Sekhmet!

I would like to start a challenge to my Godzilla/Kaiju loving fans!
I’d like to start something of a trend similar to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. My challenge is for others to create Kaiju-Sona for the coming release of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Movie!
I’ll go first, introducing Nomad Gojira! (Drawn up by good friend @black-suns-rim )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nomad Gojira’s Lore:
In the emptiness of space, there was nothing but the stars and planets the filled the black void. That was till an partials of pollen belonging to a certain planet Kaiju streaked through the black abyss, shedding the partials and cells belonging to many creatures in their battle. Pollen particle cloud split into two separate clouds, one being sent into a nearby black hole while the other was orbiting the sun within the Milky Way. Eventually the cells in the pollen began to form, clumping piece by piece into a hard like rock. This egg creature would eventually “devour” and take the energy, the radiation and power of the sun till the star exploded, the rock would shot through cold space from the shockwave of the exploding sun. The the rock creature crystallized and was sent into another dimension via worm hole.
The crystal mass was sent flying through endless space till it entered a very familiar solar system, scorching past planet after planet till it reached the orbit of Earth. It was a fireball that nobody predicted as it screamed through the sky and crashed into the ocean, but it was so hot it burned through the ocean floor and went straight to the Hollow Earth. The crystals that incased the meter from space began to melt until all that was left was the rock, it was in the form of an egg. Soon it was found by a member of the Gojira species, a Kaiju named “Black Momba” ( @black-suns-rim OC) possibly one of the last of Titanus Gojiras (besides Godzilla himself) to walk the Earth. Black Momba has been around for a really long time, but she had laid dormant for most of her time living to save energy. Momba would usually only be awake for 2 reasons; eating and/or having children. She has had bad luck with raising young due to the other Kaijus in the Hollow Earth, so after a while, she had stoped trying.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Upon finding the rock egg, she could smell the familiarities of her kind on it but also others. The Titanus Gojira growled and was about to destroy the egg till it moved, the egg was hatching and glowing red. The outline of the creature inside had her curious, for once the egg finally hatched a dark red Gojira like creature bursted through letting out its first screech. Black Momba was…interested as she investigated further by taking in the scent and licking the hatchling clean. The child Gojira took its first steps on its wobbly legs, opening its eyes and setting its blurry vision on its surroundings till it came into focus.
The Child Gojira looked up at the monstrously huge Black Momba, giving gator like chirps which was met with growls and barks from the older Gojira. It lowered herself to the Gojira Child’s face, to which the red baby lizard gave its best bark and snarl as it butted heads with Black Momba’s snout. To say it was amusing would have been a understatement, so Black Momba would adopt the tiny Gojira (not like it would have changed anything since it followed her everywhere), she mothered and took care of the Gojira Child the best ways she could. However she only gave it tuff love, not out of hate or issue but to prepare the Child Gojira for the world it inhabits, where the strong feed on the weak.
Tumblr media
The humans that surveyed in the Hollow Earth (Monarch) discovered the two Gojira, part of them felt fearful that there are now 3 walking City destroyers. However if they were similar to Godzilla, being a protector, then there’s a chance for humanity to survive the constant raids from outside forces. Monarch were highly interested in the red child Gojira, going so far to name it “Nomad” on the account of it roaming all over the Hollow Earth without Black Momba anywhere in sight. Nomad handled himself well against the monsters in his environment, from insects to mammals, but it was the crystals that formed where the dorsal fins were meant to be which interest Monarch as they formed in and around Nomad and Black Momba’s territory, crystals of various sizes were found forming like a castle.
Monarchs Scientists have discovered that due to the crystals on Nomad and around his den, they cause an electrical field disturbance that immediately shut down drones or cameras. Even when in fights, Nomad has a protective shield burrier to protect him from elemental attacks, not to even mention his electrical beam he shoots from his mouth. Almost like a surgical laser it cuts through flesh like butter, while having telepathic like powers using them in combat or to show off his intelligence by stacking rocks for unknown reasons. When Nomad is hit with elements such as electricity (he got struck by lightning once) it almost was as if it was a power up, becoming his own conductor while having regenerative abilities to rival Godzilla when injured.
One feature the scientists saw in action was Nomads crystallized spear tail, using it to catch / stab / or even kill his prey. Though not entirely built for Melee combat, it doesn’t stop the growing tank from doing so. His main form of attack is range and setting up crystals to disorient enemies and power himself up further. Just not too long ago, Nomad faced his first life threatening creature in the form of a swarm of blood thirsty bugs. They would drain Nomads energy almost to depletion, that was if it wasn’t for his crystals and quick thinking, sending out a shockwave of extreme energy equivalent to the sun.
Nomad destroyed almost the Hollow Earths forest, but the bugs were all gone, exploded from the over absorption of energy. Nomad would slowly form a crown on its head with every victory he won. Though Nomad never met Godzilla, Monarch would like to keep it that way for now having the two avoid each other. Nomad could be classified as a alpha Titan if grown properly and carefully, as Nomad grew older we no longer see him with Black Momba as often, if not alittle to not at all. She has completely gone off the radar as Nomad explores the Hollow Earth but not going anywhere near human settlements but did further expand his territory.
After 20 Years of silence later and absolute no activity from Nomad Gojira or Black Momba Gojira, Nomad would appear from the uncharted parts of the Hollow Earth (the central point of all Monsters to rest or live), brandishing a whole new appearance. The most noticeable features being his size shot down any predictions the scientists placed bets on, Nomad would stand a healthy height of 400 ft tall and judging from the weight plate that was built and hidden, he weighs a whopping 99,721 tons. Nomad Gojira just shyly beats Gojira that was know from the incident in Washington, America with Ghidorah by weight and height.
Nomad Gojira also supports a brand new attitude, while still keeping to himself or avoiding Monarch but when threatened or challenged, Nomad Gojira would gladly accept the challenge from other Kaijus once challenged. Nomad Gojira scarily has the brutality of the Godzilla we know, but also has the calmness or self awareness of what he’s doing and what could go wrong if the battle rages for too long. His many feats go from him clearing a infested cave of Rat Kaijus creatures that overwhelmed and almost ate him alive, to wrestling and fighting a Muto Prime. He brandished many scars from hard fought victories, with a whole new arsenal then a regular Gojira Kaiju.
Half of Monarch Scientist that studied Nomad Gojira in the Hollow Earth would chase him down and try to leave trackers, but Nomad seems all too smart for normal Kaiju tricks. Nomads Gojira grew new ability that evolved his electrical field around him having human machines being affected as if it was hit with a EMP. While studying the Kaiju the moment that many tried to avoid finally happened, Godzilla finally ran into Nomad. Naturally with the amount of battle scars and the scent of blood of other Kaijus on Nomad, Godzilla treated Nomad like a Alpha Titan who never submitted under his rule. This Godzilla Challenged Nomad, and in turn like text book behavior Nomad Accepted.
Immediately, the Hollow Earth shook from the battle, Godzilla swiping while Nomad Bashed his Crystal shoulders into Godzilla. The battle caused the scientists to retreat and seek refuge within Kongs Cave, but afar Godzilla and Nomad were going feral. The battle raged with both going into their primal like instincts, Godzilla and Nomad seemed evenly matched (but that could be due to them being the same species).
However with everything Godzilla threw, Nomad had a counter or defense. Nomad dragged, slammed, stabbed and tore into Godzilla till the old Gojira noticed a flaw. The crystals Nomad summoned, Godzilla then used Nomads own body to tackle and cause the crystals around them to crumble, Nomad slowly began losing his power. With what little energy Nomad had left, he used his spear like tail to stab into Godzillas stomach and pump his venom.
While Nomad thought he had won and tried to pull away, Godzilla quickly grabbed on and pulled Nomad towards him, yanking his tail to the point it came off causing Nomad to roar in pain. Nomad looked up to receive a headbutt and bite on the face, despite slashing and stabbing his Crystal shoulder into Godzilla. Nomad saw as Godzillas Stomach was healing but not from his healing factor, but from the venom, it was radioactive and causing Godzilla to heat up.
Nomad could take the heat, the force however that came with it, the nuclear pulse shattered Nomads crystals in the ground that powered him and the ones on his body. Sending Nomad into a large mountain, as he struggled to get up and heal his tail, looking through his one good eye that wasn’t scared on his face. Godzilla powered up a red atomic breath, he slightly missed from Nomad desperately summoning one more crystal to stab Godzilla in the foot, having Godzilla miss Nomad and hit the mountain on the ceiling of the hollow Earth. Causing most of the mountain and ceiling to fall and crush Nomad Gojira in rubble, burying him.
Godzilla would walk away the victorious….
Or so he thought, from under the grave like rubble. Once Godzilla left of course, it began to rumble and shake. However instead of anything coming up, underneath, a creature took what was there. A creature of pale white skin and pink like stripes took Nomad into a tunnel system of her design. Having him rest in her nest as she took care of him similar to how Mothra shared a symbiotic relationship with Godzilla, so did this creature. Though small, it did its best to heal the hurt Gojira and lit up the room with Nomads crystals she collected over the years as a warming source. To which even now with them, it was better to have the source of the heat keep the reptilian Kaiju warm. Nomad only groaned in pain as his G-Cells began to reconstruct and heal his gaping wounds or at least what could be healed. Nomad nuzzles closed to the creature he couldn’t yet see, but it was a familiar feeling one that he felt he knew. Though he couldn’t place it, he’d have to figure it out once he awakens from this coma like slumber. (OC by my girl @wolfsnowphoenix )
Tumblr media
Monarch’s scientists managed to use the tunnels of the creature and encase them both in a hibernation like state, like they did with King Ghidorah and Lava Rodan. Until they need Nomad for possible help, they’ll release him since he proved himself of holding his own against Godzilla. Till then, Nomad would remain hidden and locked away with only a select few…the project of locked up Kaijus would be known as “Monarch: Pandoras Box.”
To Be Continued…

I wanted to do a seperate post because of people who don't want Rebirth spoilers but the fact that the three friends in LOVELESS really look like the 'children of man' that the Cetra explain the story of Jenova with fascinates me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As does the fact that the Cetra here kind of look like the Sephiroth clones.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Cetra spirits tell that humanity were afraid and envied them, likely stoked by the Jenova influence and they fought and died together until they started to fight and die between themselves. They were 'forsaken by fate, abandoned to unquenchable anger and unbearable grief, condemned and driven forth powerless to forestall the coming of our end'. We even see some of the battles between the Cetra, humanity and Jenova play out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The actual retelling of Jenova's coming is here:
"Long ago, a wound marred the northern lands and to mend it did many venture forth, only to be met with disaster. A deciever that stole the faces of the dead - of mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers lost. With their voices did it sow the seeds of discord among our people, among the children of man. For the planet did we lay down our lives in battle, and in death, returned to her embrace. Yet our adversary did not. Could not. Thus did it fall into a deep slumber. And in the long silence of its sleep, it was given the name 'Jenova'. Heed well our warning of that which is to come: the reunion. When our adversary's scattered malignancy shall converge to plague the planet once once more. It has been our sacred duty to protect our planet against any who would threaten it. They who came from without were one such threat. The Gi, who with bitter prayer forged the black materia. So foul was the orb's magic that we knew at once it must be hidden, that none might ever weild its terrible power. The black materia shall summon the destroyer of worlds. The meteor shall fall, sundering the skies and shattering the earth. All life shall perish."
There's a lot of key terms there that link through to LOVELESS and this is just another reason why I think LOVELESS is based on something from the era in which Jenova invaded. It provides a lot of interesting background, I guess I had never considered there were in fact full blown battles in the Jenova Take Over vol. one, but it makes total sense there would be. It really adds to the whole 'history doesn't repeat itself but it does rhyme' vibe of the entire R-verse.
Finally, there is the version of LOVELESS - or rather, the excerpts, it's clear we're only seeing snippets of a larger story - that we see in Rebirth is known as the G edition. Again, the wording shifts and changes but the core narrative remains the same.
When the end of days is come The Goddess alights from heav'ns above 'Pon those Her blessing She doth bestow True happiness but they shall know To claim Her boon, a valiant three Sally forth, heroes they would be One's life cut short, another slain Naught but a prisoner doth remain Bereft of his wings, he falls from grace Yet venerated is he in Her embrace Now, through the cruel world hath forsaken us all Will our hero ne'ertheless stand tall?

As he witnessed the first detonation of a nuclear weapon on July 16, 1945, a piece of Hindu scripture ran through the mind of J. Robert Oppenheimer: “Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.” It is, perhaps, the most well-known line from the Bhagavad Gita, but also the most misunderstood.
Oppenheimer, the subject of a new film from director Christopher Nolan, died at the age of 62 in Princeton, New Jersey, on February 18, 1967. As wartime head of the Los Alamos Laboratory, the birthplace of the Manhattan Project, he is rightly seen as the “father” of the atomic bomb. “We knew the world would not be the same,” he later recalled. “A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent.”
Oppenheimer, watching the fireball of the Trinity nuclear test, turned to Hinduism. While he never became a Hindu in the devotional sense, Oppenheimer found it a useful philosophy to structure his life around. “He was obviously very attracted to this philosophy,” says Stephen Thompson, who has spent more than 30 years studying and teaching Sanskrit. Oppenheimer’s interest in Hinduism was about more than a sound bite, Thompson argues. It was a way of making sense of his actions.
The Bhagavad Gita is 700-verse Hindu scripture, written in Sanskrit, that centers on a dialog between a great warrior prince named Arjuna and his charioteer Lord Krishna, an incarnation of Vishnu. Facing an opposing army containing his friends and relatives, Arjuna is torn. But Krishna teaches him about a higher philosophy that will enable him to carry out his duties as a warrior irrespective of his personal concerns. This is known as the dharma, or holy duty. It is one of the four key lessons of the Bhagavad Gita, on desire or lust; wealth; the desire for righteousness, or dharma; and the final state of total liberation, moksha.
Seeking his counsel, Arjuna asks Krishna to reveal his universal form. Krishna obliges, and in verse 12 of the Gita he manifests as a sublime, terrifying being of many mouths and eyes. It is this moment that entered Oppenheimer’s mind in July 1945. “If the radiance of a thousand suns were to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the mighty one,” was Oppenheimer’s translation of that moment in the desert of New Mexico.
In Hinduism, which has a non-linear concept of time, the great god is involved in not only the creation, but also the dissolution. In verse 32, Krishna says the famous line. In it “death” literally translates as “world-destroying time,” says Thompson, adding that Oppenheimer’s Sanskrit teacher chose to translate “world-destroying time” as “death,” a common interpretation. Its meaning is simple: Irrespective of what Arjuna does, everything is in the hands of the divine.
“Arjuna is a soldier, he has a duty to fight. Krishna, not Arjuna, will determine who lives and who dies and Arjuna should neither mourn nor rejoice over what fate has in store, but should be sublimely unattached to such results,” says Thompson. “And ultimately the most important thing is he should be devoted to Krishna. His faith will save Arjuna’s soul." But Oppenheimer, seemingly, was never able to achieve this peace. “In some sort of crude sense which no vulgarity, no humor, no overstatements can quite extinguish,” he said, two years after the Trinity explosion, “the physicists have known sin; and this is a knowledge which they cannot lose.”
“He doesn’t seem to believe that the soul is eternal, whereas Arjuna does,” says Thompson. “The fourth argument in the Gita is really that death is an illusion, that we’re not born and we don’t die. That’s the philosophy, really. That there’s only one consciousness and that the whole of creation is a wonderful play.” Oppenheimer, perhaps, never believed that the people killed in Hiroshima and Nagasaki would not suffer. While he carried out his work dutifully, he could never accept that this could liberate him from the cycle of life and death. In stark contrast, Arjuna realizes his error and decides to join the battle.
“Krishna is saying you have to simply do your duty as a warrior,” says Thompson. “If you were a priest you wouldn’t have to do this, but you are a warrior and you have to perform it. In the larger scheme of things, presumably, the bomb represented the path of the battle against the forces of evil, which were epitomized by the forces of fascism.”
For Arjuna, it may have been comparatively easy to be indifferent to war because he believed the souls of his opponents would live on regardless. But Oppenheimer felt the consequences of the atomic bomb acutely. “He hadn’t got that confidence that the destruction, ultimately, was an illusion,” says Thompson. Oppenheimer’s apparent inability to accept the idea of an immortal soul would always weigh heavy on his mind.

We have some more Multiverse shenanigans! I wanted to write out all that I had on Thei and Puppette right now because they're my loves, and they deserve the world.
I've never (that I remember) drawn a skeleton like I did Thei, so I had fun there. They're a sultry lil wibblewobble, in my head.
I don't know how legible the writing is, to be honest, so I'm gonna write out the bits I can think of, in case anyone actually cares lol
It'll be under the cut :)
Puppette:
I'm less sure of Puppette's story than I am Thei's, so bare with me in case of messups haha
Thei is like OG Error in only really one way: memory issues
Puppette's memory issues got to a point where he could no longer handle his job as the destroyer after a fun full-body takeover by XGaster, who controlled him and abused his abilities (this is obviously very vague but I haven't actually thought that much through here tbh)
Thei was actually with the Star Sanses (in this case just Dream and Swap) when they were rescuing Cross and Puppette, and this is not how they met, but how they became closer.
Puppette has deep scarring on the ecto of his left leg (on his bones as well, but it's completely mishappen his leg's ecto) from where XGaster tried to rip him apart in an attempt to keep him after completely losing Cross.
Puppette doesn't remember XGaster at all, or how he met Cross. Cross is one of his closest friends, but Cross is also not around often as he's enjoying his freedom AU-hopping, so Pupp tends to forget about him (non maliciously of course).
When Pupp did remember, it was an Incident, and all Thei had to say when asked if XGaster was still a threat is "No. No, he can't touch you, not anymore." Thei didn't really say much after then, and Puppette had a good impression to not ask.
He was forced to retire by Dream and Nightmare when they realized his memory was too bad to even remember what his job WAS half the time, especially with the knowledge that sometimes all he'd remember was what XGaster had made him do, which almost led to bad times all round.
They drug his ass in a Brawl of the Ages™ because he really didn't want to, he felt his role was too important (and it was, but with Ink not existing yet there wasn't really anything opposing him, and what did need to be done could be handled by a couple weaker beings working together).
He spends his days doing typical Retirement things: sleeping, hobbies, watching novellas, bugging his partner who loves it dearly :3
About Pupp:
Pupp's personality is mostly created by an AI that I made while experimenting, I write as Thei and the AI is Puppette. Thus, he's not very Error Sans-y, but I love him still. Though, this has me wondering if he could be a Swap or Swapfell/Fellswap version, mayhaps. He's a goober, and he loves to tease people he's close to. He's still haphephobic, but with his close friends (which are all the few friends he has, for him it's close friend or not a friend at all) like Dream, Swap, Nightmare (most of the time), Thei of course, etc, he's mostly fine. Anyone else and the glitches will get him. Ink, when he comes around, is new, so Pupp is getting there, but luckily (?) ink is not a touchy kid so all is well there.
The glitches are less of a worry here, as he's fairly stable. The entire multi verse itself is more stable, really, and he benefits there.
Pupp is the type of person to hug someone from behind as a "prank", he's a harmless guy. His "Destroyer" job was less actual destroying and more like putting broken, unusable, and dead worlds to their ends so they're not affecting the balance. He's very proud of his work, and very careful in it, up until his retirement.
Pupp is not allowed in the kitchen, as bad memory+cooking isn't a good mix. Thei has him banned to the Pupp Stool until they're done cooking because if not, he will spend the entire time wrapped around them from behind. As much as they don't mind it, they do need use of their extremities.
Pupp is a lover of crochet, as well as Drama shows, language be damned. He has an innate ability to understand languages almost perfectly, though speaking them, not so much.
I look at him and just say "gooberman, my goobies, goobs, goober," often :)
Thei:
Thei, Thei is a guy I have hugged tight to my chest right now. They deserve so much.
TW: talk of SA, Abuse, and Mental Health Issues
Thei is a Lust Sans, and is from an AU where Lust Monsters need Intimacy to survive. Think of OG Lust on steroids. Without regular intimacy, Thei's magic will become so weak that they can't survive. Signs that they need intimacy start with irritability, tiredness, magic not working as they wish, and eventually gets to a point where they aren't in their right mind and will only act to survive.
Thei's AU is destroyed early on in the multiverse's existence and they take a spot on the Star Sanses, mainly as the voice for them; theyre very good at communicating with people because their magic relies so much on it, so they act sort of like the PR, making sure people know the Star Sanses are here to help and how to get that help. The Stars don't really have an enemy here, so theyre mainly a patrol group, who's main goal is making sure everyone has what they need as well as checking on AUs that may Fall or need to be Destroyed.
Thei's reliance on others in personal, intimate ways very obviously gives way to abuse of that reliance. To make matters worse, Thei's magic will respond to the person they're with before they do: they have the ability to change their appearance on will, but it will also activate when the person they're with desires it a lot, even if they don't, because their magic sees it as necessary to survive. This started because of how much they "starved" before, how many times they almost died.
Because of their need for intimacy, they have to go AU hopping for days up to months at a time to get what they need, so to say. Again, they hate this. They're an introverted person, despite their communicative abilities, and they like their alone time. This gets even harder when Thei becomes an integral part of Puppette's life and they move in together. Puppette's memory issues prove a problem because there will be times when Thei is gone long enough for Pupp's memory to fade, no matter what they've tried. When Thei comes back, he won't remember them, but will know the feelings associated with the memories. That love is still there. Thei is patient enough to stay on Pupp's track, even when that track jumps around a lot, and part for that is the guilt they feel at leaving him so regularly bc of their magic.
They've "started" dating many, many times, and been engaged many, many times, because Pupp won't remember it. As one can imagine, this is hard on Thei, but Thei adores Pupp and can't see life without him.
Thei works with Stretch (who works in the Omega Timeline Lab) and Swap (who's a well oiled engineer, despite not working as one) to try and figure out cures for both Pupp's memory and Thei's "curse", as they call it. But there really is no cures.
When Thei gets too low, they'll go to, or Pupp will get them to, Dream and Swap, who together can help boost Thei's magic, but it's not a long-lasting solution.
What they eventually make, after a very, very close call when Pupp is struggling to remember them and almost doesn't get them to Swap and Dream in time, Is devices inspired by the continuous glucose monitoring and insulin pumps used by diabetics. One tracks their magic levels, and the other is a pump that will inject them with magic when needed. This way they don't have to rely on people, and they can stay with Puppette, which helps with his memory. This entire endeavour is a fairly new scenario I'm still playing out, but as I'm sure is obvious, having this sudden freedom and ability to stay by their love's side is very daunting. They're learning to be free now.
About Thei:
Thei is softspoken and quiet, but the type to get loud around friends.
Thei is a painter, and teaches Ink about art as he grows. Thei loves scenes, and Ink makes them a Scenery Art Book for their birthday one year and they fall to the ground.
Thei's life between "AU Collapse" and "Thei with the Star Sanses" is very vague and unfocused, aside from a clear understanding that it wasn't good. I know that Thei was rescued at one point but Nightmare and his crew, and Thei lived with them for a while, considering them like family, but eventually had to leave. Another "perk" of their magic is that they have a connection to people's emotions, kind of like Dream and Nightmare. They can feel that someone is upset, but not how or why, basically. They can also push their emotions onto others when their magic is strong. This was an ability gained as a defense mechanism after being taken advantage of. Knowing someone's emotions and being able to affect them when in serious intimate situations is very helpful.
I'm gonna stop typing because this has gotten Long™ but while this is mostly for myself, I hope there's someone out here who enjoys my little Goobs. I love them dearly.

not only did rana gain such significant power in her destroyer of worlds verse by the darkhold && the dark magic attached to her necklace but when she’d go to various worlds in various universes she always absorbed the life && magic of her selves in those universes && worlds until they were dead.   it was usually one of the last things she did on unsuccessful worlds where she couldn’t find the artifact she wanted---she’d absorb the life/magic of the version of her who lives there, kill whoever got in her way, && then destroyed the world in a angered rage before moving on to another.

I Am So Glad Miraak Is Dead
Allow me to preface this with my condolences. I believe many of you have been beguiled by Miraak's charming voice, rugged looks, and general intelligence. I understand why this has attracted you to him. There is a reason I chose him as my champion. But all things come to an end, and there is a very good reason Miraak could not be allowed to live. For my part, it is as I have said before. He would not have been under my control if he were to leave Apocrypha, and I find that unacceptable. A reason for you to require Miraak's death is also available, should my desires not be enough. This reason is convoluted, but I shall simplify it for your understanding and for expedience. It is laid as bare as possible in the verse Miraak forced upon the minds of Solstheim's residents. Here in his shrine That they have forgotten Here do we toil That we might remember ... And when the world shall listen And when the world shall see And when the world remembers That world will cease to be I have highlighted only the relevant passages here. The verse has no end, and the last line shown leads into the first. In recognizing this, you now realize that Miraak has cast himself and his shrine for a key role in some sort of Mundus-destroying plot. A perfect reason to kill him. But many have had similar intent and been dissuaded, or somehow redeemed otherwise. Miraak's schemes are too involved to dissuade him of. They revolve around the All-Maker of the Skaal. The Skaal are a truly ancient branch of nordic culture, isolated from the world and its influences since the time of Ysgramor. Their beliefs have, as such, twisted upon themselves to the point of being unrecognizable to an untrained observer. Of most important note is the All-Maker, a unique figure found in the Skaal religion. Now, you must understand that before their secrets were given to me by old Crag-Strider, the Skaal's beliefs were... fuzzily-defined in Apocrypha. (The Aldudaggavelashadingas were, at the time, still lost to the whole of the Aurbis. No one had them, and so no one could use them to trace the lineage of the Skaal's beliefs. At current they reside only in Apocrypha.) Point being, Miraak did not know much about the beliefs of the Skaal. He assumed and jumped to conclusions. Knowing that the Skaal were animistic rather than worshipping a specific deity, he believed the All-Maker to be a blend of Doom Drum and Aka-Tusk. Doom Drum as the shaper of the Mundus and Aka-Tusk as the material of which the Mundus is comprised, through being the soul of Anuiel. Knowing how the world was created, he intended to have his temple (in the shape of a wheel with the tallest All-Maker stone at the center, how clever) mantle the Mundus, himself mantle its grand architect/materials, and close out the kalpa as the newly ascended world-eater and god of Men. He would then create a new world of his own make. This is where his little poem found its memory theme. When the world remembers the All-Maker as he believed the Skaal knew it, the world will be forced to see him as the All-Maker in his little shrine. And since the shrine is designed to mantle the Wheel, the world can be ended through Miraak eating the stone his shrine is made of, I suppose. "That world will cease to be / Here in his shrine", because his shrine is the world. Unsurprisingly, Miraak was incorrect about the All-Maker. It is more a blend of Sithis and Doom Drum, and so he would not have been able to achieve his goals as he had structured them. But this inevitable defeat does not mean he did not have to die. The sort of man who will spend aeons scheming to become the ruler and destroyer of all reality for his own gratification is not the sort of man you want running around, no matter who he associates with. It was in everyone's best interests to kill him.
