i have to ask what brushes you use your art has like. an edible texture. and i cant for the life of me find decent ones i'm on a hunt
ermm ok so basically what i would recommend to get the texture you're describing is to use an inking pen to lay down flat colors before going in with a watercolor brush on an opacity of abt 75% and then begin blocking in shadows. make sure to use a beige or ruddy tan for the shadows (this should be on a separate multiply layer). after i'm done coloring i apply a grain screen ranging from 15-20 to get the gritty texture on top of my art (that's in photoshop btw since my drawing app doesn't have that)
