ど～も、福岡店隠塚(おんづか)です。

雪が降ったかと思えば、初夏を感じるような気温になったりと寒暖差が激しいですね～。まぁ、昔から『三寒四温を繰り返しながら･･･』と言われていますから、季節が巡っている証拠なんでしょうね。花粉症の方（私もですが）にはツライ季節の到来でもあります。頑張って乗り切りましょう～

さて、久しぶりに入荷した”サスペンダー”をご紹介しますっ!!

20世紀初頭のサスペンダー（ブレース）のディテールを再現する為、型を起こし、オリジナルで製作したアジャスターには、”DIGGER”のアイコンである＜ステッチデザイン＞を打刻しています。

また、オリジナルのゴム入りベルトは、裏地が＜パイル状＞になっており、適度なキックバックはもちろん、シャツや肌着を傷つけない仕様を再現。

色、ラインのパターンも全てオリジナルですよっ!!

新品のサスペンダーにありがちなオーバースペックな硬すぎるレザーや肩が凝りそうな太い吊りバンド生地ではなく、サスペンダーがある程度馴染んだ状態が理想と考えます。

このため、WAREHOUSEのベルトを手掛けるマニュファクチュアに依頼し、たっぷりとオイルが入ったオリジナルレザーを製作。

さらには、＜金具＞、＜スナップ＞、＜レザー＞から＜ゴムバンド生地＞まで、全てのディテールに【加工】を施しています。

シャンブレーシャツの＜ブルー＞やダックの＜ブラウン＞、デニムの＜インディゴ＞に最も相性の良いサスペンダーに仕上げました。

この文章の流れからすると、トップスには、＜シャンブレー＞や＜ドビー＞生地などのワークシャツを合わせた着用画像がベターだと思いましたが、何となくイメージが出来るスタイルなので、ココはあえて、”スウェットでハズす”のも個人的にはアリじゃないか、と。

自由に組み合わせて、いろんなスタイルで楽しんで下さいね～

ど～も、福岡店隠塚(おんづか)です。

雨が降ったこともあり、最高気温25℃程度と涼しく、一気に秋めいてきた福岡です。シャツを着てちょうどイイくらいです。暑さを我慢することなく秋物が着れるのが嬉しい限りです。

さて、本日は『古すぎて新しい』パンツのご紹介です。

先立って入荷していた”OPEN FRONT JUMPER”や”CLOSED FRONT JUMPER”もそうですが、100年前の衣料のディテールやシルエットが、逆に今、とても新鮮(斬新!?)に映る不思議。。。

『放射状に伸びる補強のステッチ』や『ポケット口に施された飾りステッチ』、『片側だけに配されたバックポケット』、『曲線で裁断され、腰帯に挟み込まれたバックシンチやコインポケット』などなど、目を惹くディテールがてんこ盛りですが、何よりも私がお伝えしたいのは『縫製』です。

一部、ヴィンテージからのアップデートでロック処理を施した箇所はありますが、その他は全て”シングルステッチ”によって縫製されています。

それのナニがすごい事なのか？

近代化が進むにつれて、ロックミシンや2本針ミシンなど、様々なミシンが開発され、今までは2～3工程の作業だったものが1工程で済むようになり、作業効率は格段に上がっていきます。

『ワークウェア＝作業着』ですから、作業の無駄を省き、いかに効率よく進行させるか、という事がとても大きな意味を持ちます。

しかし、今回製作した『Lot 1880 WAIST OVERALL』は、100年以上前の”Turn of Century”と言われる、1800年代後半～1900年代の世紀を跨ぐ時代のワークウェアです。（→ベルトループが付いていませんから!!）

もちろん、2～3工程を1工程で縫う事が出来るそんな夢のようなミシンなんてまだ存在しません。

しかも作るのは『ワークウェア』。

丈夫な生地と生地をただ縫い合わせただけでは、過酷な労働に耐えうるだけの強度が得られません。すぐに破けたり、裂けたりしてしまいます。

そこで取られていたのが『折伏せ縫い』という技法。

現代でも、”高級シャツ”などの『仕立ての良い洋服』を作る際に用いられる技法のひとつです。

非常に手間のかかる技法ではありますが、その処理は美しく、また、強度面においても高強度を誇る技法です。

その折伏せ縫いを用いて作られた『Lot 1880 WAIST OVERALL』は、当時の限られた手段の中で、『より丈夫なワークウェアを作ろう』という人達の知恵や工夫を伺い知ることが出来るパンツではないかと個人的には感じております。

是非、興味のある方はパンツを裏返してみて下さい。

それを『美しい』と感じるかどうかは人それぞれですが、普段よく穿いているパンツとの違いを感じて頂けると思います。
