“Hey Y/N, it’s Wonwoo. Listen, the guys want to know who would win in a fight between Woozi and Mingyu and apparently we need you to decide. Call me back when you get this.” Wonwoo hung up after leaving the voicemail.
“What did she say?” Jeonghan asked, Wonwoo shaking his head.
“She didn’t answer.” He walked back over to the group, who were currently in a heated debate.
“That’s weird, she always answers.” Joshua commented, Wonwoo shrugging his shoulders at him.
“She’s been doing a lot of school work lately with the end of term coming up. She either is probably still working or fell asleep. I’m not too worried about it.” He put his phone back into his pocket, he sat down next to Vernon, who offered Wonwoo some of his snack. Wonwoo just shook his head, listening to the debate.
It wasn’t long before the door opened and the remaining members walked in, including Jihoon and Mingyu. Jihoon stopped as he heard the discussion, turning to look at Mingyu. Mingyu listened for a second, then rolled his eyes.
“Hey!” All the boys in the debate turned to face them, Mingyu letting out a sigh. “We’ve been through this. Woozi would win. Get over it.” Jihoon just smirked as Mingyu walked over to drop his bag off, Wonwoo chuckling as he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He pulled it out and saw it was a text from you.
<Hey, sorry. Something came up, I’ll explain later. Break a leg weirdo>
He pouted at the message, seeing another one come it.
<Didn’t we discuss this? Woozi, all the way, Mingyu would go down like a tree>
He smirked a bit at that one, but still pouted to himself. Were you okay? What came up since that afternoon when he last saw you? He shook his head, telling himself he was probably worrying over nothing. You probably just had to work on school stuff and were too absorbed in it like usual. He made a mental note to bring you something to eat if they got done with practice early.
“Alright, let’s do this.” Soonyoung said, getting ready to start rehearsal. Wonwoo sighed, sending back a quick text and throwing his phone onto his sweatshirt.

You fell back on your bed, a giant dopey grin on your face. You never would imagine it, but you swear you just had the perfect date. You couldn’t believe this.
You and the guy, who you later learned was named Hyunseok, studied together for a while longer. You did your best to focus on what was going on in your textbook, but it got increasingly harder to focus with him sitting across from you. How often did an incredibly attractive guy sit with you? (again, you would never tell Jun such a thing).
Once it started to get later in the day, he eventually shut his book, looked at you, and asked where you wanted to go for dinner. You were a bit startled, not thinking that he was actually serious when he had originally brought up going to dinner. You didn’t know what to say, so you just said you could get noodles from the convenience store or something. He agreed, and you both packed up and left.
It was… Amazing? You both talked to each other so easily, asking each other questions and learning about each other. You learned that his favorite color was green, he had a dog growing up, and he was also in Seoul for school. You told him about your major, the recent drama you watched that you were obsessed with (and may have admitted your crush on the male and female leads, but who could blame you?), and about some of the friends you had made here. You even told him a bit about your best friend, though you decided not to name drop yet. You knew you had to be careful about your relationship with Wonwoo, so you had to be sure you could trust this guy before you talked about it.
It was just nice. It made your heart flutter like crazy. Guys tended not to show interest in you that way. After all, you spent so much time around Wonwoo’s members and none of them seemed to show any interest in you. Most of the guys at school were friendly with you, usually willing to work with you on projects, but they never went further than that. It always made you feel like a third wheel when you all hung out, seeing as they almost all had significant others or dates.
But now? Some random adorable guy in a coffee shop sees you and thinks you were cute (his words)? Your heart wasn’t sure how to handle that. You pulled out your phone, smiling at the messages you had received.
You quickly opened the one from Hyunseok, hoping you got back to your apartment safe. You sent back that you did, with a little happy face emoji after. You then saw Wonwoo’s text, opening it quickly out of pure habit.
<Okay>
You furrowed your eyebrows, confused. Wonwoo never really was a wordy person to begin with, but just sending okay was a bit out there. You quickly dialed his number, waiting for him to answer. You looked at the time, muttering a curse to yourself. Wonwoo would still be in practice. You were about to hang up the phone when you heard him answer, quickly putting the phone back to your ear.
“Hey, what’s up?” You heard Wonwoo, sounding like he was trying to catch his breath. You must have caught him after a dance practice.
“Oh shoot, uh…” You said, putting a hand to your face. Sometimes you forgot that your best friend was an idol and did idol things at weird hours. “It’s nothing. I can talk to you tomorrow if your busy-”
“We just went on break.” He laughed, causing you to pout.
“Are you sure?”
“Y/N, what’s up?” Wonwoo sighed, you letting out a huff of air.
“Okay, fine.” You said, hugging a plush panda bear to your chest. You looked down at it, one that Wonwoo actually gave you (Seungcheol actually won it at a fair while on tour, but Wonwoo tried so you gave him some credit). “Are you alright?”
“...Yeah?” Wonwoo chuckled, and you could picture the look of confusion on his face. “I mean I’m out of breath, but otherwise fine. Why?” You exhaled, feeling a little relieved.
“Oh thank goodness. You just seemed off.”
“Y/N, I just said okay?”
“But it was a concerning ‘okay’, okay?” You just heard Wonwoo chuckle on the other side of the phone.
“Fine, sorry for being concerning.” He laughed, causing you to grin. “So what happened tonight? Is everything okay?”
“Oh yeah!” You sat up, remembering your evening as if you hadn’t been just thinking about it 7 minutes ago. Everything came flooding back to your mind and your heart got all fluttery again. “I just… Oh gosh, I never thought this would happen! I just… It was so amazing and it was everything I wanted it to be but it wasn’t anything like I pictured and my heart is all fluttery now and you know?” You gushed, hearing silence on the other end of the line.
“Okay…” Wonwoo said slowly, pausing again. “Okay, I’m going to need you to go back about 7 steps. What the hell are you talking about?” You paused for a second again, letting out a laugh and falling back on your bed again.
“I… Kind of had a date...”
“You did?”
“Yes, and he’s just… Oh Woo he’s like perfect? He’s possibly the most beautiful human I’ve ever seen-”
“Hey.” Wonwoo interrupted, you rolling your eyes.
“Besides you guys. He’s the most beautiful non-idol human I have ever seen.” You picture Wonwoo rolling his eyes as he stayed silent, causing you to smile. “Like, you’d be shook.”
“I don’t know, I see the guys every day. They look pretty good.” Wonwoo joked, and you rolled your eyes.
“Whatever Jeon. Listen, I imagine you have to get back to rehearsal and I should go to sleep. We can talk about this next time.”
“Fine. Bye weirdo.”
“Don’t trip over yourself.” You grinned, hanging up the phone. You quickly hugged your panda to your chest, letting out a squeal.
Your heart was happy.
