Fascinating watching the Tory leadership contest, because we can’t vote for them, so one does sort of wonder what the point is of all these televised debates, until you realise the people they’re pandering to are other Tories and Rupert Murdoch. So there’s no attempt to win over actual human beings, it’s all ‘I pledge to tear up human rights so I can remove British citizenship from anyone who doesn’t have two parents born in England and deport them, allow untested medical experiments on prisoners, bring back workhouses for the poor, and allow trans people to be hunted for sport.’ They’re just... going totally mask off and saying the quiet bits out loud.

I feel like it's incredibly important to note that the next prime minister will be elected by only Tory party members - a position you have to pay to get.

There's only 160,000 of them, about 0.2% of the population of the UK.

And they are the ones who are going to choose who is the leader of the whole of the UK for the next 2-3 years.
