15, 20, 33 and 56 for Tomu! :D
15. What battle in the campaign has been most memorable to your character?
There are many good ones to choose from, so let's go with a very recent one! The party had taken on a bounty hunting gig that lead them into a hidden laboratory complex of a lawless master mechanic. The place was brimming with traps and heavily armed minions, so a couple of the party members were already beat to shit at this point. They found a relatively safe hiding hole to rest for a while, but Tomu wanted to keep exploring while the rest of them were licking their wounds. There were fun little mechanical spiders here, and so many fun varieties of explosives, and she really wanted, no, needed to see everything right away! So she got turned invisible by the druid/warlock B'Tuin and went exploring ahead.
Only a couple rooms away from their resting place she found their mark, all alone and not noticing invisible Tomu sneaking around. This was just too good of a chance to pass up on - surely Tomu could take this villainous elder gnome down all by herself. So, with the element of surprise on her side, she tried to sneak up on the gnome and pour a magical sleep-inducing potion in his mouth... and failed miserably in doing this.
The alarmed gnome didn't attack Tomu right away, but went and hid into this big metal construct on legs that could move and fight on his behalf (fantasy mech suit! how cool is that!!) and only then attacked. The rest of the party heard the commotion and rushed to help Tomu, their short rest sadly interrupted.
The mech was a challenging opponent, and two out of five members of the party were not in great fighting condition to begin with, so they really had to use their brains with this one. So there was a lot of moving around the room while everyone was trying to find a safe place to stay in. There were bombs thrown about! And did I mention the Giant Mech we were fighting against! Everything here was just so so so inspiring for Tomu (and as a player it was a super fun battle). But yeah, what really made this one memorable over everything else was the fact that this one was 100% Tomu's fault. Her dear friends got into serious trouble just because she didn't want to hang around while they were catching their breath.
I think she might've learned something from this experience. (and she got to throw some cool ass bombs towards a giant robot, what's not to like)
20. What is the biggest mistake your character has ever made?
Oof. I'll tell you the tale of what happened to the temple town of Othe, because. Well. Even if it was an accident (and technically a group effort), the sheer magnitude of this one leaves no room for any other answer.
The party was searching for shattered fragments of a primordial titan to help B'Tuin in his research of them. And they found one, in an ancient underground ruin near the town of Othe. There was only a slight problem: the fragment, resembling a vaguely round blob of black stone, was seamlessly attached to a huge stone altar and thus impossible to move around.
The party tried a few different ways to remove the blob, none of them working. Then, in a random fit of inspiration, our cleric Musta tried to lick the stone (idk, must be a tabaxi thing) and immediately fell unconscious when every bit of moisture from her body was sucked into the stone through her tongue. The blob was thirsty.
While the rest of the group was working on getting Musta back up, Tomu tried out a couple of things with the blob. Spitting on it didn't have much of a reaction, apart from the wet mark disappearing into its mass in a split second. Maybe emptying her water skin into the blob would be a good start? So Tomu poured all of her drinking water onto it, all of it getting sucked in like she expected.
And suddenly the blob's thirst seemed to be quenched, and it came free from the altar with a soft little 'plop' sound. Tomu picked it up and handed it to visibly delighted B'Tuin. No one really paid mind to the small but deep hole left in the altar on the blob's place. Their job here was done, it was time to get back to Othe.
Their preparations for leaving were interrupted by the sound of rushing water. A few heartbeats after they heard it, the small hole in the altar started spouting water with impossible speed. And when I say impossible, I mean impossible: the room they were in was vast, more of a great hall than a room, and the cave system behind it even greater than that, and still, within minutes the water level was reaching their ankles, their shins, and kept rising fast.
So they ran. They climbed higher and higher in the tunnels, just barely keeping ahead of the all-consuming water masses rushing behind them. It was a narrow escape, but finally they got out of the caves and climbed to safety on a tall cliffside. Here out in the open, the water couldn't rise as fast, there was simply too much ground for it to cover.
But here's the thing about Othe. The town is built on a lake, on a series of small islands connected by bridges, and the lake is surrounded by hills and mountains on all sides. The place is essentially a bottom of a very big bowl. And there was a lot of water heading into that bowl.
There was really nothing the party could do at this point, as the water mass underneath them was roaring and snapping trees in half and moving boulders from their places. There were even giant sharks and various other sea creatures apparating seemingly out of nowhere into this great whirpool of death. They could only watch from afar, as the water on the lake surrounding Othe rose higher and higher, until nothing remained but the very tops of the town's tallest towers. The ancient town with all of its people was essentially wiped out of the map in less than an hour.
Tomu doesn't really like to think about this one. Unfortunately everyone else in the party is talking about it a lot, it really left a scar in everyone so it's not that easy to repress this one into oblivion. It might've been a complete accident, and someone else on the party would've certainly removed the blob if she hadn't, but. You can't really hide behind any excuse when you've drowned an entire city.
33. What person does your character admire most?
This is a tough one to think about! For the longest time in her backstory era there was such an easy and obvious answer to this: Augusterius Harha, her mentor AND best friend, and at least in Tomu's eyes, the most powerful person on this side of Imperium. And after that relationship and admiration came to a sudden and horrid stop, she's been quite wary of holding anyone in similarly high regard.
Her traveling party would be the most obvious choice, especially her new BFF Kato, our barbarian, whom she absolutely adores with every fibre of her being. She just gets kind of weird about "putting people to that kind of pedestal" (her words, not mine. it's like she sees admiration as something inherently hierarchical and thus not fit for equal partnerships).
But there was a wizard in Nicodranas, Yussa Errenis*, who was the employer of the party for a short while. This dude owned an entire city district! AND a cool super special magic tower in the middle of said district! This is something to be admired in Tomu's eyes, this is the level of power and fortune she wants to have when she grows up.
*it's fun to have a campaign set in Wildemount, we get to occasionally meet famous NPCs from the source material :3
56. When they were a child, what did your character want to be, or think they were going to be, when they grew up?
Tomu's parents were running a fairly successful general store, and Tomu was very much raised with the intention that she would one day take on the family business alongside her sister. She wanted nothing to do with this plan - the honorable profession of a trader was a Boring one! She wanted to have some action in her life! To see places! To see people who weren't here to buy turnips or knitting needles!
So she spent a lot of time dreaming about running away from home and joining a traveling circus or theatre troupe. She probably would've done it, too, if she wasn't suddenly swept away to a life of crime (and later, adventure) instead.

👻 for Tomu - for that natural 1 on the disguise :3
👻 OC in a really bad disguise
Nothing beats the classic combo of glasses and a fake moustache! This person, whoever they are, certainly has not seen the golden-skinned tiefling lady you're looking for. Better luck next time!

5, 28, 34, 45 for Tomuuuu! :D
5. Can they cry on command? If so, what do they think about to make it happen?
I don't think Tomu can, actually! That would be a handy skill to have, though. As for how she'd start practicing it, thinking about the cry-worthy things she's encountered in her life so far simply won't do. No no no no, those things are meant to be suppressed into oblivion. She definitely won't be using those feelings for anything. So, what purely hypothetical things would make Todenmukaisuus cry? Losing her dear new friends, or even one of them, would surely do the trick, but oh, thinking about that would Feel Bad. She doesn't want to feel bad! Why does she have to tangle her personal feelings into this crying thing? So, uh, maybe thinking about orphaned puppies would work? That's a perfectly general non-personal thing to cry about, right? (That is to say, I'm not sure if she could learn to cry on command with all her avoidance issues. The emotions that may lead to crying are Strictly Forbidden, you see.)
28. What do they tell people they want? What do they actually want?
Tomu simply won't shut up about her wish to start her own guild of organized crime one day. She would, as she claims, be simply the best at it, way better and smarter and even kinder than anyone else who has ever tried being a crime leader. And, her wonderful traveling companions are very much invited to be her co-leaders! They could have an entire underworld empire between the four of them, wouldn't that be just great? What she actually, secretly and desperately, wants, is to be accepted as she is. She wants to have a place where she definitely belongs and wants to belong, she wants to be adored in the same way she used to adore her guild master back when things were better. And she very much wants to keep her friends with her, preferably to the end of time.
34. How do they greet someone they like / love?
This question made me realize that she actually doesn't! If you are truly dear and close to Todenmukaisuus, she skips any and all greetings and basically continues the conversation like you'd never even left. It's just all "Oh, you survived! Here, let me show what I found out while you were gone…" or "Sooo, did you guys have any interesting dreams? What's for breakfast?" She'll anwer any greeting addressed to her, of course, anything else would just be rude, she just seems to forget they even are a thing between friends.
With new acquaintances that Tomu likes but isn't very close to just yet, she gravitates towards flowery and long-winded greetings. Something along the lines of "Oh, very good evening to my favourite wizard, it is such a delight to see you tonight, how have you been?" But this one's also a bit tricky, since her way of greeting people she absolutely despises tends to be very similar in its word choices. Though if she really likes a person, none of the floweryness follows into her body language, she'll just flop on the couch all noodley and limp because she's comfortable with that person.
45. What’s something unimportant / frivolous that they hate passionately?
Tomu hates things that aren't pretty. She's very passionate about beautiful items, no matter if the design is elegantly minimalistic or endlessly decorated and embellished, as long as it's pretty to look at. (One of her main weapons goes by the name [Previous Owner]'s Beautiful Dagger and is referred to with this full name like, 90% of the time, the beauty of it is just. so important to her.) Which leads us to the main point of this question! She absolutely cannot understand why Anyone would Ever in Any situation pick function over form, why a tool would ever be just a tool and not also a thing of beauty, why people would live in humble comfortable homes when they could probably afford something a bit more fancy. Encountering things that aren't explicitly pretty has repeatedly made her forget all her manners in the course of the campaign, she'll just loudly whisper to her companions "Do these people really live like this? WHY??" While the people in question stand right there. It's a miracle she hasn't gotten into any real trouble over this yet.

13, 27, 47, and of course 61 for tomu and/or glimmer! :3
13. what are some motifs you associate with them? did you intentionally bring in those motifs, or did it happen over time?
Tomu: For Todenmukaisuus, there is the recurring theme of Running Away that just keeps resurfacing over and over again. There's the obvious and intentional instance of it in her backstory (running away from her past and starting her life as an adventurer), but the amount of escaping various situations her current party does took me entirely by surprise. Just on the top of my head I can list five separate times the party went "okay, time to leave this place very quickly, and we're all in agreement that we can't come back here ever again, right?". I've been immensely enjoying playing with this theme and can't wait to see if she and her companions ever learn to not run away from all their problems. (also, nowadays every song about messy breakups and abusive relationships remind me of Tomu, so I guess that's a thing too)
Glimmer: Glimmer's got the fully intentional fire motif going on. At first it's all gentle light and candles, tiny friendly flames that need protection, and as the campaign kept going and Glimmer's powers grew greater, so did the flame imagery grow into a blinding, scorching wildfire, burning everything around it in order to change the world. I really like the idea of light as a both gentle and destructive force, and wanted to explore both aspects of it with Glim's journey.
There's also a surprising amount of eye imagery that I associate with her, especially in regards to blindness. This one I didn't even realize until late in the campaign, when Glimmer got blindfolded for a while and it just felt… important. The blind eye motif has just crept its way into the art I draw of her, into her playlist lyrics, into the npc:s that are close to her. It just was always there, waiting for me to See it, I guess :D
27. how do they usually dress? why do they dress the way they do?
Tomu: Todenmukaisuus usually wears what I like to call "pirate clothing": poofy deep-cut linen shirts and duster coats, things that look good but not too flashy, and are somewhat gender neutral. You never know when you need to disappear into the crowd or slap a fake moustache on your face and pretend to be someone else entirely, so the clothing must reflect that. (I'm still not sure if this will change in the light of recent events where she acquired a Hat of Disguise and is thus free to dress however she likes without worrying about the disguising aspects of any given outfit. Personally I'm fond of her current looks as they are!) In terms of color, she favors deep mahogany browns and wine reds, accented with gold and cream details.
Glimmer: Glimmer sticks pretty much entirely to her cleric robes, though in a very mix-and-match fashion that is not necessarily endorsed by the clergy of Dawnfather as a whole. I imagine the vestments consisting of layers and layers of separate pieces, and donning them is supposed to be a half-meditative process where the cleric thinks about the different aspects of faith the garments represent (I recently learned this is actually very similar to how christian priests dress for sermon, too). The process of dressing up while deep in prayer is of course a whole ordeal when the robes in question are your everyday clothes, so Glimmer tends to just… skip it entirely. It's not like she'd remember the Correct Parts anyway, as the formalities of being a cleric aren't exactly her strongest suit. So in her case, the robing situation tends to wildly differentiate between each day. Today's warm, so maybe just the light lacey undershirt and an embroidered vest over that to make it look decent. Or, no one's going to mind of she just takes the hem of the robe and reworks it to a pair of trousers, that's just the sensible option deep in the woods or on horseback, right? (I actually really want to draw a full Glimmer dress-up chart, there are so many fun options and so many pieces to figure out. Maybe I will, I'm inspired now.)
47. what could they talk about for hours on end?
Tomu: Tomu would probably explode from excitement if someone asked her about her process of the fake potion crafting. These things take skill and thought, you know, it's not just randomly slapping ingredients together like you're a child playing with mud. You need to know all the differences between how different types of oils, alcohols and inks work, you need to know the right quantities of ingredients that will make or break the potion. It would be catastrophic to slip any of this to her customers, obviously, so she has taken a habit of not really speaking about her "trade secrets" to anyone. But she is very proud of this skillset, she desperately wants to spill the beans on it! So if someone she trusted would ask about her potion-crafting, they would definitely get a lengthy rundown about the different properties of all the things you could feasibly sell in a bottle. (I think Tomu would love to have an apprentice for this stuff, now that I think of it. She's SO not ready to teach anyone, but she'd love it nonetheless.)
Glimmer: Glimmer is not much of a talker, really. She can listen to other people talk for hours, completely enraptured by their words, but she often hesitates to join in on a conversation for fear of saying something Wrong. I think the closest thing to a hours-on-end talking for Glimmer were the (not necessarily entirely canon) side conversations she was having with the party bard, Harmonia. Those were basically in-character therapy sessions that sometimes got very long. The tieflings in that campaign had a lot of baggage between the two of them and we as their players were happy to drag every horrible bit of backstory into scrutiny between the actual game sessions. :D
61. is there an in-game moment of theirs you think about and just laugh?
Tomu: I love most of Tomu's attempts at deception, she's an absolute mess if she doesn't have the time to properly plan things. My heart holds a special place for the time the party was sneaking in the fields of some noble family in order to do some Nefarious Deeds there. Unfortunately they were spotted by a group of guards, and Tomu, reacting quickly, disguised herself as a noblewoman and tried to claim that she's just traveling to the nearest town with her group of servants and got lost, and no, she does not need to be escorted back to the road, and no, she does not need any directions, she's going to figure this out all on her own. Obviously this raised some suspicions in the guards. The party ranger also decided that this was the perfect time to sneak away from the group and do their intended sneaky business now when the guards' attention was elsewhere, but he got noticed right away and the situation started to escalate rather quickly. There were arrows shot and swords drawn, though the situation never broke out into a full fight. Tomu never broke character and kept complaining about bad servant material, asking the guards if there was a place in town to hire some better ones, and criticizing the confusing road design that leads people wandering on some random field, and hey, young man, you almost hit me with that arrow, watch it now! Finally the party was able to just walk out after Tomu offered the guards a rather sizable bag of coin "for ruining their field". Like, it was a mess. I still don't know if she even succeeded at whatever she was trying to do, but all of it was hilarious anyway.
Glimmer: The one Glimmer moment that nevel fails to make me laugh happened very early in the campaign. The party had found out about some suspicious cult activity in the small town they were staying in, and decided to investigate it. The characters split their ways and tried a different approach each, Glimmer's thing being just straight up trying to spot some of the grey-robed cultists on the streets. After a botched perception roll, she ended up spending hours wandering around the town, not finding any cultists but following around various innocent people she had deemed "suspicious looking" for wearing things that would maybe look grey-ish if you squinted. When she finally got back, the rest of the party were already sharing their findings with each other. And Glimmer busts through the door into the middle of their conversation, urgently and confidently sharing her news to everyone else: "There are no cultists here, but everyone else in this city is being shady as hell, we should go." The line was just delivered straight from her heart, so passionately that I can't but laugh when I remember it. I think that was one of the first moments where Glimmer took over and I could just watch her do dumb shit and enjoy the ride, too.

🎯, ❤️, 🥊 for any/all of the blorbos! I'm curious about the lot of 'em. :D
🎯 -What do they do best?
(I'll include a few word introductions of the blorbos here too, gives the answers just a little bit of context)
Todenmukaisuus (or Tomu for short, since her name is so. fucking. long. Fun fact: her name would directly translate to Veracity!) is my current D&D character and main blorbo, a light-hearted tiefling rogue running from her past and trying to make friends with everyone she meets. Tomu would love to claim that she is an excellent liar, swindler and snake oil salesman, very good at persuading people to pay money for things they definitely should not buy - but she isn't half as good a liar as she wants to be. Yes, she's very good at crafting her fake potions and forging papers, but the moment she tries to cook up a good hoax in practice she ends up being way out of her depth. Her actual talents are in the crafting bits. (Like, don't get me wrong, she actually should be very good with the lying too, she definitely has the stats and skills required for it - she just can't for the life of her roll any good when she attempts deception.)
Glimmer, my precious, my favourite, my literal ray of sunshine, is a tiefling cleric of the Dawnfather Pelor, devout in her worship of powers of light and good. Glimmer is a healer in both physical and spiritual sense. She knows how to treat a wound, be it with magic or stitches, and while she's patching you up she's going to do her best to get your mind at ease, too. Whatever worries you, she'll make sure it's not your problem anymore - whatever you've done is more than enough, you are enough, you are loved, she loves you. And whatever it was that worried you, those are now Her worries, her burdens to bear. She's way too good at taking responsibility in things she can't change, and exceptionally good at worrying about stuff.
Lila is a young half-elf with a newly found sorcerous talent and a found family consisting of a major criminal organization. Currently deeply involved in a war between said organization's different factions. Lila has a natural affinity to magic that mainly has to do with death and undeath. She is a trained liar and manipulator, as well as a thief and smuggler. I'd still consider her true talent to be Following Orders. She will do anything and everything her criminal family requires her to do, and no matter how hard the task, she will keep going at it until she finds a way to succeed. Left at her own devices, she will usually either freeze or do something extremely stupid, but when someone else is there planning things and giving orders she really shines at executing the plans.
Aalo is my character in our Vampire: the Masquerade campaign! She's a professional art photographer and hobbyist ghost hunter, and these days also a horrifying undead abomination vampire, plagued by prophetic visions and unpleasant hallucinations. Aalo has spent her entire life studying all things paranormal and occult, and her strongest skillsets lie in using that knowledge to her benefit. She's also useful to have around for some light breaking and entering, but other than that? She is actually kind of useless, I love me a pathetic woman :D
(ohhh this is going to get Long, isn't it?)
❤️ - What is one of your OC’s best memories?
Todenmukaisuus' favourite memory is actually a fairly recent one! (Mainly because the good memories of her past are now shaded by feelings of heartbreak and betrayal - the wonderful memories of hangout sessions with your best friend aren't as wonderful after you've realized the horrifying amounts of abuse and gaslighting that same friend subjected you to). But even ignoring that, the enchanted bubble bath shared with a whole bunch of new friends would've made the list of Tomu's best memories. Her party had just arrived to a new city, one that she'd wanted to see for ages, and were staying for the night in a Super Cool Wizard Tower with a Super Cool Wizard living in it. Attached to their room was a small bathroom with a bathtub enchanted to always stay warm, with fresh water constantly pouring in in a gentle stream. The walls were covered with shelves filled with dozens of little bottles of perfumes and soaps and bubble solutions, all of them of delightful and exotic smells and colors. After weeks on the road and months running from her past, that kind of luxury in itself was a dream come true! But the most important thing was that there, crammed into a one-person bathtub with two other people, playing with the floating bubbles and laughing and play-fighting, Tomu felt really and truly safe and happy for the first time in gods know how long. At that moment she realized she wasn't traveling with these people because of some duty or debt or even convenience, but because she Actually Liked them. They were Her people, and this was Her city, and everything was going to be okay after all.
One of Glimmer's fondest memories is from a time she was very young, so it's more of a series of brief recollections and feelings than an actual scene. She was maybe six?, seven? at the time, spending her time learning how to read. It was a particularly beautiful day, so her teacher took their lessons to a nearby park, where she could study sitting under a great oak tree. Glimmer remembers the warm sun on her skin, the sounds of birds, the painstaking process of slowly turning the symbols on paper into spoken syllables and words; a deep sigh after a challenging sentence, a laugh, her hand brushing the soft green grass; her fingers finding a four-leaf clover and picking it up; her teacher agreeing to save the lucky clover between the pages of a book; the feeling of having a mutual secret and the spark of friendship forming between the teacher and the student. Glimmer still carries the dried clover with her in her adventures, as a personal treasure from her past.
Oh, Lila gave me the hardest time with this one! She vehemently refuses to pick a single memory among many happy ones - the good times before the Bad Stuff Happening were good, that's the end of it. No need to dwell on memories when there's things to fix in the present.
The absolute highlight of Aalo's life and undeath was her first art gallery exhibit. The rush of seeing her works on someone else's walls, the same works that were so often described as off-putting or unnecessarily macabre, and seeing people actually Looking at them, interested in them. Interested in what she had to say with her art. Appreciating her vision. She never quite figured out the right words to describe her feelings at that time, but nonetheless she's been chasing those same feelings over and over again ever since.
🥊 -What do they love to do? What do they hate to do?
Todenmukaisuus loves encountering anything New and Interesting and Exciting, be it a new person or item or activity. She loves traveling to places she hasn't yet seen, loves getting swept up into unexpected adventures, and loves spending her money on useless but beautiful gifts for her friends. She absolutely fucking hates touching anything dirty or gross or otherwise icky (unless it's some poisonous substance you can squeeze out of a defeated monster, then it loops right back into the 'interesting new things' category, for some reason).
Glimmer enjoys the simple things in life. Baking fresh bread, sitting down with a cup of tea after a day's hard work, finding some peace and quiet in meditation. And, altough she might not readily admit it, she really loves casting Fireballs. What's not to love in a big fiery boom! She hates spending prolonged times outside of daylight, and talking to pompous people in positions of power.
Lila loves to drink expensive wine in good company (or cheap wine in Really Good company), she loves going out to all the super fancy places and behaving like a real and proper upper class girl would, but more than anything she loves getting into dumb and completely avoidable trouble, going 'yes and' to bad ideas until she's horribly tangled in a very bad scenario, and then desperately wriggling her way out of it. She hates having to make actual Important Decisions without someone telling her what to do.
Aalo's favourite activity in the whole wide world is to uncover secrets, dig up dirt on people, and solve mysteries, especially of the supernatural kind. She also deeply loves photography, including every step of the process from planning elaborate ideas and weird technical tricks to actually developing the film. She hates staying still and spending her nights alone.

for the soft asks meme: 2, 23, 27 :3
2. what’s your feel-good movie?
Look, there's just no beating Princess Bride, is there? I have such a soft spot for it in my heart, just thinking about it makes me feel better. A ridiculous little fairy tale about True Love, yes please.
23. favorite piece of clothing?
Oh this one's surprisingly hard to answer! I'm going through a bit of a wardrobe crisis at the moment, as many of my old faves are getting too worn down to be called favourites anymore, and i haven't just yet found new ones that i would love as much. There's of course the trusty old oversized hoodie i almost always wear when i'm at home, but everyone's got one of those, it's not that interesting to talk about that. There is this one skirt, though, that i really like even though i only wear it rarely. It's this pale muted yellowish-green color and wonderfully asymmetrical - the front is very short and the back consists of several ruffled (i guess that's the closest word i can find?) layers, the longest of which reaches my mid-calf. It is SUCH a fun item to wear, i call it my fairy skirt :3 Perfect for the warm spring days, i can't wait to get to wear this one again!
27. which character would you want to be?
After several days of pondering i still can't come up with anything other than my various ttrpg characters! The brainrot goes that deep. So let's just accept this as is and answer: I'd like to be Todenmukaisuus! I love exploring her headspace so much, i want to experience Everything through her, she is just the best kind of enrichment to me. (i would imagine that being her full time would make me very stressed out, the girl's got problems, but oh how much i'd love to spend a bit more time in her skin anyway)
