Hah........ I’ll separate these by question because there’s some stuff to unpack. 

CW: Body image and hints of sexual harassment

How comfortable is my muse in their body?

We’re starting off strong I see... So, a recurring theme, in older FE games that I’ve noticed, is sexual harassment and misogyny as a whole. In FE8, while I don’t remember it specifically stating what brigands and the like (generally from Grado) do to women, but there are some heavy implications that treatment is reflective of these themes—treating and talking about them as if they were “prizes to be bought and sold” so to speak. Tana, as I’m writing her from Ephraim’s route where she gets kidnapped twice, pretty much goes through this (and of course, is out of that situation). It’s pretty apparent from how reactive she is at General Gheb’s little “interrogation” suggestion and his comments about how lustful he is towards women. 

On that note, I don’t think I could completely say she has body image issues, but she’s made more aware of some of the more leering eyes of Magvel and I guess everywhere. Based off her Heroes art and alt, even her in game art, she’s kind of busty and isn’t naive enough to not notice looks that she might receive. So, while it’s not enough for her to be insecure, it’s enough to be feel at least a little conscious about.

How do they feel about their height, weight, strength, and body type?

Height, weight, and body type are either addressed in the previous question, or she feels rather neutral about. Strength, however is something Tana is more conscious about. 

In Frelia, at least in the noble/royal circle, misogyny isn’t very prevalent, in fact, it hosts strong women who are on par with the men and basing off of Innes and King Hayden, they’re well aware of that. (Know your place boys- skdlgjdsf Kidding) In Tana’s case, she is a fledgling knight who, of course, got the training that the others did, but is newer to the battlefield at the beginning of the war. It’s shown in her supports that she’s doubted and this (rightfully so) frustrates her. She’s frustrated not only by their lack of support, but also because she’s a little unsure if she should even be out on the battlefield so when everyone, even yourself, is telling you that you can’t do something, it takes a toll on self-esteem. Luckily though, Eirika reminds her that she has a right to be there and others do too, to an extent, and she has enough willpower and determination to succeed and pull her weight. 

I also wanted to add, that according to other people’s experience, if trained right, she becomes one of your more powerful and useful units (especially given high speed, health, and luck growths) so I like to think of it as a “I will show you” kind of moment. 

How important is being attractive to them?

This is the easiest question to answer and I touched on it a little in the physical appearance HC post, but beyond having a reputation and image to upkeep, appearance isn’t so much a priority as say... strength and prowess. Also, as an addendum to my previous answers, her experience is even more of a reason to not give two pegasus plops about what anyone thinks.

Elincia has the patience of a saint but some minor things that can get to her are: 

Untidy spaces - This is one of those things where it just distracts and depending on how messy it is, overwhelms her. On the flip side, cleaning is one of those things that is a allows her to relieve stress.

Chewing with an open mouth - Need I say more?

Bone popping - Deliberate bone popping, I should say. Like nails on a chalkboard.

Consistent tardiness - She’ll understand the first or second time, but if made a habit, she finds it quite rude to not make an effort to show up on time.

🍊 : does my muse desire romance? is it something they would actively seek out, or prefer to happen more ‘ naturally? ’ what is their love life like? do they have any exes or past flings, or crushes?

First question is a resounding yes. I think being doted on by her parents and likely having every need and want catered to her growing up, kind of helps contribute towards this? She seems to be the type to seek it out, though, I will also add that in general she’s a friendly person which can come off as overbearing and/or even give the wrong impression. But seeking out relationships, romantic or platonic, is ingrained in her want of seeing life outside of the castle.

I wouldn’t go to the length of saying that she wants a “fairy tale romance” but in their supports, it’s very obvious that Tana harbors a crush on Ephraim (the hero, her hero in her eyes likely) and Cormag is an immediate fascination to her. It’s hard to say what her type is, I guess just generally kind people even if she has to do a little digging to unearth that. 

On that note, love life is nonexistent.

Exes and past flings, no (Innes would have their head- sgfsdf kidding). Going back to the Ephraim/Cormag thing, I think she knows more than she lets on and sees people for who they are thus actively seeking and (albeit bad) flirting in her own way. I also don’t think it’s too hard for her to develop crushes, especially since she’s never had a relationship before.

🍑 : how meticulously does my muse look after their physical appearance? do they spend a lot of time on their hair, makeup, grooming, and clothing? is there a particular reason why they do or don’t?

I can be corrected if I’m wrong, but there’s really no IC proof regarding physical appearance, or like what Tana thinks of herself as far as physical features go. (In her support with Ephraim, she does ask him what he thought of her hair and dress on her birthday party, but this was more of a poor attempt at flirting/getting him to compliment her LOL ) 

So, I like to HC that there is a certain standard she does hold herself up to being the princess of Frelia (can’t go out looking a mess, what will that say about Frelia?) but at the same time, I don’t think she’s the type to have a mirror on hand to touch up. I also think that she’d be the type to wear and own nice things, but really not think much of it. Like if we’re talking modern AU, she’d be the girl wearing designer stuff and say “Oh, this old thing? I just threw it on.” HAHA

As a princess, though she insists on friends dropping the title for familiarity sake and to treat her seriously, I do still think that she looks after her appearance in some meticulous manner. I would probably say she has a kind of mix of both wanting to fit into a certain aesthetic and also having it be functional. 

So, taking her in game appearance as an example... Her hair must always be done in the morning, though, it is pulled into a high ponytail so it’s not in the way. Her outfit, while her skirt is very short and her outfit in general probably isn’t what you would think a knight should be wearing as “armor,” it serves its purpose because let’s be real, the shorter your shorts/skirt is, the more mobility you have. I think it was said somewhere that pegasus knights have their legs exposed to bond with their mounts? Either that or it was some HC that I kind of just took and ran with haha... It could be the latter because if this were true, then it would be consistent across the games. 

But anyway, the tldr is: she looks after her appearance so she can be presentable as a royal representative of her home country, but vanity is the least of her concerns.

Since the last HC was a little c’: I’ll try to redirect this one to a happier tone as well as try to not repeat myself over and over. 

At her core, Tana is the mood maker. As I’ve kind of beat over the head, she has some level of naiveté that actually does serve her well in keeping the group’s morale up. She is optimistic for her friends/comrades and cares for their well-being as shown in several of her supports. Tana is a very friendly person and does her best to start conversation and keep it going, even if they aren’t the most sociable. She often reminds those around her of both the good times they had in the past and new memories and opportunities in the future because she wants to see everyone make it out alive—after all, what’s the point of clear blue skies and sunsets if they aren’t spent with the ones she holds close? 

Some of this circles back to her wanting friends from probably being surrounded by servants and her parents. Of course, there was the Renais twins and Frelia siblings posed as childhood friends, but that’s a whole other conversation that I have some other feelings about. 

Getting back on track with reputation, apart from the whole royal image, part of it is being the happy go-getter to cheer her friends up. Tbh, that’s probably good enough for her—a place in her beloved circle of friends to belong. c’:

🍐 : how intelligent is my muse overall? are they smarter than the average person, or less than? are they primarily self-taught, or did they acquire most of their knowledge in school? are they more street smart or book smart?

Hm... I would probably say a little bit of both for all the questions. So, I would say she is about average in terms of overall intelligence. There’s nothing that really stands out to me as overly intelligent or less than, but in her supports she definitely has her moments. 

Nat and I HC that the Frelia sibs had private tutors growing up and on top of that, she did train to be a pegasus knight. However, despite having this knowledge, she starts out, presumably, not having much experience outside of the castle. She’s really written off by like three people in her supports as naive or someone who needs to be protected. At first glance, it is for good reason, they’re looking out for a friend/sister and she does have a little bit of a temper/tendency to rush into things, like someone who wouldn’t have the experience to know that you can’t just throw a tantrum and storm in on anger alone. 

I think I mentioned this in one of the other HC posts, but she’s a lot more knowing than she lets on. She suggests a way to alert Cormag when there’s danger showing off mostly her emotional intelligence, but also battle tactics in some way. I also wanted to point to her death quote in FE8:  “I've long been prepared for this day...Too long...” which by itself is like clenches heart. But along with this, I think in her supports, it does point to how keenly aware she is of how serious war is and that there are negative consequences, it’s not a world of the good guys will always prevail in the end, especially since... (spoiler) it really did look like Grado was going to triumph with all the stones being destroyed save for Rausten’s.

Rinea loves a lot of things—animals, flowers, dancing, other forms of art like poetry, etc.—but when it comes to people, she's more hesitant to express this, taking into consideration her reserved/shy personality and being an outcast. So when it comes to romantic love (something she's likely only experienced with Berkut), I would say she defines it through little acts of kindness. Rinea doesn't give her heart to just anyone, but it also doesn't take a lot to please her. In the memory prism, her mood shifts into a much more lax one when she's reassured that she doesn't need to prove herself worthy of nobility presence and is even indulged in talking about her passion. As seen in her lines, she doesn't wish to be empress, only to stay by her beloved's side.

In terms of attainability, without pointing out the obvious, I will answer with a resounding yes. She's seen an example of love from her parents both towards her and towards each other as well as having experienced it herself. In this case, it's definitely a matter of seeing is believing and learning for herself. She probably enjoys reading romance novels and poetry from time to time, but wouldn't base any expectations off these. Although she leans toward the whimsical side, she is still very much grounded with realistic (sometimes pessimistic) expectations of love, so she probably doesn't put too much faith in things such as fate and destiny.

As far as soulmates go...

At first I didn't want to be cheesy and say she didn't before she met Berkut, but that's the answer I'm going with... HAHA Not immediately though. I think even though they're engaged in game, where this would apply is post-game. Canon events where she ushers him into the afterlife they're (prepare for the cringe) together to the end so you know, this would solidify the soulmate concept. With the way I'm writing her in TOA verse, a similar thing applies, she would probably see her whole existence and reuniting with Berkut as a sign or fated in some way. Tragically so, but I digress.

👕: What is your muse’s fashion sense like?

Well, without stating the obvious of her in game outfits (regal gowns if not in her armor) I would say her style in more of a modern setting would consist of rather modest, but chic and simple wear. 

🍕: What’s your muses favorite food?

She likes homemade and hearty meals the best! Good sustainable energy for the day plus I think they remind her of simpler days and fond memories.
