It’s just that I’m suspicious about why they are making Daniel’s contract announcement when he’s not even there? Firstly, I’m sure his contract for next year was finalised over the summer (re Lunch with Helmut in Austria). I think his performances in spa and Hungary were enough to convince them, coupled of course with the experience the team has said over and over again that they want.

But why move the announcement up suddenly to this weekend when it was apparently meant to be announced in Austin? And the media frenzy about the line up this whole week? Sure it could be to silence the rumoured faction within redbull that want Lawson over Daniel, but what if it’s to hide what’s actually going on behind the scenes at redbull?

Last weekend’s performance must have made it clear how important it is for redbull to have two performing cars to maximise points every race in case they have weekends like last weekend and with Lewis now p3 in the standings and how often Christian and 🪖have constantly talked about how #11 is safe as long as he’s p2, maybe last weekend just got the ball rolling and they’re playing their cards à la mclaren — don’t let anyone know what we’re planning until after it’s done??

Anyway mid-season swap is definitely not delusional anymore

long day, but productive! helped a lab mate with a protocol this morning, then worked on understanding more of that one math paper. had a noon seminar for my program, which I knit at 😌, and then lab meeting. realized after that I should prob set up something tonight that I was going to do tomorrow morning, so made a plan + then spent the evening setting it up and listening to the evening seminar for my MD-PhD program
