Twitter keeps turning into a worse nightmare by the day so I should probably figure out how to use this site regularly again, and I figured what could possibly be better than sharing the VM plot synopsis I’ve been thinking of now that we’ve seen Syngorn and the Fae Realm in the show, spoilers for TLOVM s2!

Nova has an acquaintance with Zahra and Kashaw (Zahra if nothing else, and a definite crush on that front, slightly reciprocated but it’s more just Zahra and Nova truly care about each other and also they’re both hot so like. It happens lol) before encountering Vox Machina because I want them to be able to be friends and if Vax and Vex introduce them it would just be a disaster considering their dynamic in the show fhielsfhes but that’s fine, Nova can help them all come to terms with things and make nice ^_^

She accompanies VM to Vasselheim following the dragon attack and decides to stay back in the city while the rest of them go off to handle the Sunken Tomb. While staying back in Vasselheim she takes it upon herself to perhaps consult Osysa further (being a mildly divine fae creature means Nova can make friends with the strangest of creatures and she’s probably been friends with some of them as long as they’ve existed, since she was around before the Divergence) as well as look into what the temple of the Moonweaver there can do for or offer her/the party. Even just sharing resources around can go a long way, but she also stops by to talk to her Mom in a more intimate setting and perhaps even connect with her in a way she’s only able to achieve when she has the relevant magical influence at her disposal.

When Zahra and Kashaw return from their harrowing tomb visit they fill Nova in but only on the bare minimum. I’m on the fence about whether or not they immediately inform her of the truth regarding what happened with Vex, but I also don’t see any significant reason for why they would keep it from her, so I suppose they do lol. Nova thanks them profusely and I think she enlists Zahra’s sorcerer help in figuring out where they went from the tomb.

She doesn’t manage to reconnect with them until they get to the Fae Realm, and even that circumstance is much less straightforward than any of them would have liked lol. Once she establishes that they’re in that dimension (or at least Vax is, sorry but she just wanted to make sure she ended up wherever he’s at specifically and if he was separated from the others she would have just gone to him solo instead fhesilfheslf) she enters the Fae Realm of her own accord and once she’s finally back in the plane of magic where she was raised, her powers and demeanor and everything just get stronger and more comfortable, this is a Realm where she truly feels she belongs with no qualms or difficulties.

She encounters Garmelie before any of her own party members and her inexplicable run in with him ends up leading to their reunion. I’m not sure if she knows he’s Artagan but I think it would be neat if she and Artagan also had an acquaintance as a result of her living in the Fae Realm and wandering in and out of it for so long. Regardless of whether she’s aware of his true identity or not I’m thinking maybe by the time she runs into him he already ran into VM and so she kind of runs into all of them together more or less, but Nova’s also more comfortable with fae creatures as a rule and she expected Garmelie to help her anyway lmao. Not because he’s good for it but because she’s used to dealing with fae and before she realizes her party members are there she could have made quite the deal with him with her true power; it’s a deal he would have agreed to, not a suggestion lmao.

She doesn’t need to resort to such measures if she happens to reunite with them a bit more directly, but things crash and burn immediately anyway because the moment she lays her eyes on Vax, like. Obviously she knows lol. She knows better than any of them, she was alive before the Vestiges even existed, part of the only reason she can exist in this world is because she was alive before the Divergence, before the presence of the gods’ was barred from Exandria’s Material Plane for good. And she knows the Matron’s touch, because although it isn’t the same as Shar’s, it’s much too similar for Nova’s liking, almost too much for her to physically bear, but of course it doesn’t matter what it is she’d bear anything for Vax.

I think I’d like for she and Vax and the others to get separated from each other at some point before they make it to Syngorn, or they have some kind of private meeting at night, the bottom line is Nova is going to talk to him about how he’s feeling and she’s going to care about him and she’s going to get to the bottom of all this because she will not live with him suffering with the mantle of the goddess of death suffocating him, drowning him in darkness rather than filling him with light. Nova may not be able to offer the Everlight’s blazing blessing, but the Moonweaver’s modest glow should be more than sufficient to heal his wounds and tend his heart with its dazzling radiance. Also her being with him in the Fae Realm is just OH NO IT JUST HIT ME...if they end up alone together everything’s just going to remind them of the dream life experience they had because they lived at their house in the Fae Realm, even if it was closer to the Gates of the Moon or whatever I can’t believe I forgot how much this situation would remind them of that lol even more awkward, even more tension, I’m so here for it. But like Nova being around Vax makes everything better because her presence keeps the harshness of the Fae Realm at bay that wants to get at him for his death armor, and also he loves her and just being with her makes things better but they aren’t going to be Explicit about that ofc they’re too dumb fhsilfjeslifs

And she’s gonna give Syldor what for after everyone else walks away from that whole debacle in the city because after Vax called him a prick and got in his face and he still had the nerve to be a bastard to him, that’s not just disrespecting Vax but the Champion of the Raven Queen who’s stuck wearing her cursed armor and always putting himself out there for everyone he cares about...Nova’s not having any of it lol and she does reveal her divinity, and within the Elven Pantheon no less, and makes it clear that she intends to take Vax for her own come hell or high water...but she will never share any of that prestige or goodwill with the bastard that ruined Vax’s life and is a significant part of the reason he has such a low opinion of himself.

Vax is who he is by his own merit alone, and if Nova ever does talk up any members of his family she keeps it reserved for his mother and his sisters, and she wants to make sure Syldor feels the sting of that pain and rejection from a divine daughter of the Moonweaver herself.

And also maybe they all stay in Syngorn a week or something longer than what they did in the show so I can have some more shenanigans, I’d have to devise an excuse but I’m sure that wouldn’t be too much of a problem fhesilfhjse and I absolutely want Velora to mistake Vax and Nova for being married and she refers to them that way the first time they speak and these two just...it’s an event fhielshfes AND I’M SO HERE FOR IT
