9. MAKEUP?

Cheslock

He doesn’t really remember when he started wearing makeup. Really, he felt that lip stuff was way too gaudy for him - it suits Violet quite well, but it really isn’t his scene. He also wears makeup over the scar under his left eye, dramatising it into his iconic look so it’s less visible.

Violet

Rather than being told to grow out of it, Violet was left to his own devices when his mother simply accepted that the makeup covered up how tired her son looked. At least she was there to steer him away from whatever poisonous materials he thought would be alright to apply to his eyes… but he still continues experimenting nonetheless.

Edward

There is no way in the seven hells that you’d ever catch him wearing makeup of his own will. He has to be forced to sit down by either Elizabeth, who wants to test something, or Cheslock, who probably forced him into it with a bet. There is… a certain fear when applying coal dust and vaseline to one’s eyes for mascara. During his Phantom Five concerts, the sultry half-lidded look that he gives fans is only the look of “I have something stuck in my eye, please help me.”

12. FAVORITE BOOK GENRE?

Cheslock

He reads a lot more than one would think. Cheslock’s a big fan of the gothic genre, with copies of Carmilla, Frankenstein and Jekyll and Hyde up on his shelf. He doesn’t really get much time to read, but when he does, he rereads all of this stuff. 

Violet

He still remains a lover of the epics. Not just the English traditional Paradise Lost or The Fairie Queene. Violet actually enjoyed studying the Odyssey and the Iliad, even if they were school set texts. There’s just something so interesting in exploring a distant past that actually has him reading stories that others would find tedious.

Edward

He doesn’t read. Well, at least, he doesn’t read as often as he wants to. However, his favourite genre would probably be the ‘social-purpose’ novels. The ones that bring to light the injustices of society. Edward reads them because he knows his disposition as an affluent man and wants to learn more about others.

14. PHYSICAL ABNORMALITIES? (BOTH VISIBLE AND NOT, INCLUDING INJURIES/DISABILITIES, LONG-TERM ILLNESSES, FOOD-INTOLERANCES, ETC.)

Cheslock

The scar that runs over his left eye was something from childhood, a particularly bad scuffle with his father. The two don’t exactly have the best of relationships.

Violet

The white forelock in Gregory’s hair is natural. As a child, his parents were worried that this, coupled with his ‘quiet temperament’, was a sign of him being afflicted with some sort of genetic defect. Growing up, it was later realised it wasn’t anything detrimental to his actual health.

Edward

22. GIVEN A BLANK PIECE OF PAPER, A PENCIL, AND NOTHING TO DO, WHAT WOULD HAPPEN?

Cheslock

He wants to make something good. Cheslock isn’t the best of artists, but he still knows what’s good and what’s bad. He gives up half way on drawing people and ends up drawing dicks all over the page.

Violet

Of course he’s going to draw something really elaborate. Violet isn’t one to draw whatever’s in the room, but something straight from his imagination. He could draw up amazing scenery or detailed flora from memory without a problem - and remembering is a skill in itself - but that’s only if he has the drive to actually do it.

Edward

Edward is a horrendous artist. That doesn’t stop him from trying to draw something. He tries to draw portraits of whoever is around, but… his work could probably be considered insulting. 

41. HOW MISANTHROPIC ARE THEY?

Cheslock

He doesn’t detest society, but he does have some grievances with how class seems to define people. Cheslock just does whatever he wants, without mind of people. It’s not exactly something extreme. He just minds his own business.

Violet

It isn’t as if he hates people, but… he’d just rather avoid them. Violet loathes wild parties and gossip, knowing just how out of hand one can get when inebriated. The only people he willingly hands around with are kids, because he finds them pretty easy to entertain.

Edward

There is no way that Edward could say that he hates people. Sure, he does have some problems with how unequal society is, but he doesn’t see humanity as inherently evil. People have just “lost their way”, as he says.

31. MOST PRIZED POSSESSION?

Edward

It’s Elizabeth related, of course. His most prized possession was on the first drawings that Elizabeth gave to him, back when he didn’t really like the idea of having a little sister. It’s a messy scrawl of smiley faces for their family, in bright pinks, greens and blues. Frankly, anyone else would say it was pretty ugly, even for a child’s drawing. But Edward would throw hands with anyone who dared to ever say that.

Soma

More than all his jewellery, he cares the most for the golden ring on his right pinky. Though showered in golds and silvers, it is this ring he cares for the most because it was the one his mother entrusted to him for when he would reach a certain maturity. Well, he wouldn’t say that he’s quite there yet - he ran away with it when he came to England. Though, he still wears it as a reminder of the man he wishes to become.

Grey

He has quite the collection of hardback novels. All with elaborate and ornate covers. Grey isn’t really much of a reader, especially since the titles that he has, such as Dostoevsky's ‘Demons’  and Nietzsche’s ‘The Birth of Tragedy’, are quite wordy. The actual value comes from the fact that they were gifted to him by some dear friends after graduating at Weston.

He’s pretty lucky just having hay fever. It isn’t even that severe, but he’ll blow it out of proportions. Grey whines about going outside a lot, saying it’ll flare up his allergies, and eyes flowers warily - as if they’re going to stab him back. Though, this all came from when he was a kid, being told that he shouldn’t play outside so much as a result of his allergies.

Edward

As a child, Edward felt horribly ashamed of his stutter. His governess was strict on him to improve his speech and growing up to be the heir to the family title didn’t exactly alleviate pressure on him. He did grow out of it eventually, but there still remains the sense of nervousness when making particular grand speeches.

Blavat

He’s prone to migraines, or rather, was. Blavat’s mother suffered from them quite a bit more than he does, but he figures it’s probably hereditary. That, added with his constant stress and fatigue without rest, leads him to hold up in his room and avoid everyone and everything. He’s pretty used to handling them alone so he wouldn’t say that they debilitate him so much.

13. Sexual orientation? And regardless of own orientation, thoughts on sexual orientation in general?

ClaytonHe’s asexual. He didn’t see why the lads of the dorm were so girl crazy and just put things together, realising “maybe I don’t need that sort of stuff anyways.” Clayton doesn’t understand the big debate around sexuality since he just thinks everyone should mind their own business, but he’s rather avoid confrontation than speak out about it.

EdwardHe’s bisexual, yet still testing the waters. It’s hard for him as a public figure to just outwardly speak about such a topic, but he’d still call himself straight if it meant he could safe face. Whatever anyone wants to do with their body is their own decision, so he isn’t too opinionated on such matters.

SomaHe’s very outwardly bisexual. Who he likes is just who he likes, right? Soma never shuts up about how cute some guys and girls are, just brushing off people’s judgement as a Western thing. Those who do try to criticise him best be prepared for a heated and unprepared argument from him because Soma never ever stands for such slander about orientation.

Clayton

He’s a total recluse. Even if he’s reading a very well known book, he sticks as close to the edge of the room as possible and hides the pages away - wow, it must be a big spoiler that Frankenstein… created a monster. In terms of his actual life however, he loves to gloat about himself so if you compliment him even once, Clayton will go on and on about how he did something similar and amazingly as a child.

Cheslock

It depends on what you mean by privacy. Generally, he isn’t the sort of person that talks a lot about himself until asked. He does have a lot to say, but he’s not exactly sure where to start. If you mean with actual space, then Cheslock will bust down your door at 2am because he remembered that you didn’t give him back his pen.

Could he even answer that himself? Possibly, but he’s just never had the chance to properly show it. He’s not the kind of person to say it, but he’s a boy of action. Despite his shortcomings, he’ll always do his best to make up for whenever he fails to please his companions.

He’s had suspicions of the supernatural. Claims of the dorm being haunted aren’t exactly founded in any reality but Cheslock messing with the younger kids by pulling a string and wiggling the curtains. However, he does have an interest in tarot cards, sitting in on the readings of others whenever a certain boy in the dorm reads for others. He is too scared of getting his own life read though.

1. WHAT DOES THEIR BEDROOM LOOK LIKE?

If not for the servants of the manor, his room would probably be an absolute mess. You wouldn’t see the jackets he throws onto the ottoman by his bed when he’s had a particularly long day of doing nothing. Alois shouldn’t have license to decorate his own bedroom, because if he did, all the blues and purples would clash… he’s actually lucky that Claude’s useful in interior design.

48. HOW DO THEY EXPRESS LOVE?

He definitely does have some trouble with that. The only times where you truly see the love he holds for someone is in moments of desperation; the times where the tears just can’t stop running as he clutches onto someone and begs for them to stay with him. Alois has never said that he loved anyone, and he probably never will. But it doesn’t mean that he can’t feel it.

17. PREFERRED MODE OF DRESS AND RITUALS SURROUNDING DRESS

Ciel usually dresses in very sophisticated suits as it is. Though he doesn’t have any strong colour preferences himself, he does prefer the more darker colours. He does mostly wear whatever Nina decides as best for him. The only issues he really has with dressing up is when Nina and Sebastian end up bickering with each other.

When was the last time he honestly drew something? Even back at Weston, he’d avoid doing actual work in art class because he knew just how atrocious his drawing is. He could probably write a good poem if he wanted to, but it wouldn’t be the first thing on his mind. Ciel’s most likely going to ignore the paper and save it for something useful later.

42. HOBBIES?

His hobbies are his job. Though he’s trying hard to be a grown-up, he does have a little too much fun testing out all the new Funtom products. Ciel just loves to make excuses about playing with new card decks so that he can spend time with Elizabeth. Besides, who else is better to test toys than actual kids?
