I'm just laughing... like in the scene after the big signal fire battle where everybody gets betrayed and dies, you're there with Alistair trying to figure out what to do, and there just happens to be an elven goddess right there, saying, "ah yeah, that sounds good" "no that sounds stupid" "that might work" "oh that sounds like a plan to me"
Flemythal I love you
this game series is about getting pep talks from ancient deities and rising to the occasion

Read The Chalice of the Gods in one sitting tonight and man, that was a blast from the past. Truly reading that book had the same effect on me as all the stuff in Hebe-jeebies.
I also read the last 1/3 or so of The Fragile Threads of Power. Still don’t know how to feel about that one. It was good, but I’m worried about where the series is headed. Sequel series are a slippery slope and “too much of a good thing” is a real problem. Well, more accurately the problem is “not knowing when to stop making something” or “not knowing when to end a story”. I don’t necessarily think that will be the case here, but I’m wary for sure. Especially given how the last chapter went….

@xfoodxobsessedx asked: ❛  i’m planning to turn you into a dripping mess.  ❜ (From Mona)
Tumblr media
Heavy pants and lidded eyes, chest heaving, Fischl’s leg hooked itself around Mona’s knee out of sheer NECESSITY at her words, neck exposed, teeth biting lips. “Oh, yes~... The Prinzessin doth beseech thou LOWLY VASSAL to ruin me, to shred thy clothes and despoil thy dignity and transmogulate one from a prideful Prinzessin to a, ahem, DRIPPING WET MESS of a lowly commoner~...” Too far? Probably but Fischl never did anything in halves. And she wouldn’t be the Prinzessin without a FALSE sense of autonomy amidst this messy heat. Still, as she spoke, her lingerie leotard had been drenched through, her arousal dripping down to stain her garter and leggings, too, all the while she pressed her SLICK CUNT up against Mona’s thigh. She was ALREADY dripping in--
Tumblr media
“Now, now, Meg, is that ANY WAY to speak to another woman? And there I was thinking I’d taught you better than that. Where. Are. Your. Manners?” Morrigan clacked a heel against the floor with a full knowing smirk painted across her lips, eyes promising mischeif and chaos. “And to think, isn’t this one SUPPOSEDLY a princess? Sorry. Prinzessin. Prinzessin. I mean no offense. I’m merely here to point out that a lowborn motherless child like Mona would be EXECUTED on the spot had she spoken in such uncouth terms to any other member of any other royal family.” Another pause, Morrigan’s feet crossing ankle over heel as she braced herself against the wall, checking her nails twice over. “Say, Meg, AMY, how would the Kaiser and Kaiserin react if they knew my protege here planned to turn their daughter into a, quote-unquote, ‘DRIPPING MESS’? Hmm?”
Tumblr media
Fischl had frozen up completely around Mona at the sound of Morrigan’s voice, each word from the older woman TEARING OPEN wounds and distresses that Fischl had not yet grown numb, too, no mattter how many times said wounds had SCARRED BACK OVER. “I-I-I-...” She tried to find her voice, wanting, knowing exactly, what Fischl would say. She’d turn around and PROUDLY announce that Mona’s name was not “Meg” but “The Great Astrologist Lady Megistus”. And she’d reneg every point Morrigan had tried to make about kings, princesses, kaisers, kaiserins and queens and parade her own position as MEIN FRAULEIN before her, dictating that the Prinzessin’s rule is above all, and that anyone seeking shelter from the fated day of THUNDERING RETRIBUTION would naturally come to accept Fischl’s choices in love and life in the waning transience of this universal twilight. “H-Her name’s not Meg...” But that had been EXACTLY why Morrigan had called her AMY now, hadn’t it? “I...” GULP.

“…”
She just offers the popsicle to Morrigan. It’s already melted a bit from her saliva.
Morrigan smiles, and reaches out to take Robin’s hand....but instead, uses her grip to pull Robin closer to her, and catch her lips in a kiss.
Tumblr media
“Mmmmf~..”  She holds it for a moment with Robin before pulling back and licking her lips.  “Very delicious~,” she said with a wink.

open mic nights were the most busy, but they were also briar's favorite. she loved listening to everyone pour their heart out through song or poetry, feeling like it brought everyone together at the end of the day. of course the money she scraped in through tips was also helpful, her monthly rent coming due rapidly and her fridge empty apart from a few soft drinks and an old package of sliced cheese.
drink after drink was slid across the bar to patrons, a bright smile on briar's face through each and every one of them. however, as someone approached the bar, she felt herself take a long pause. briar liked to think that she could spot a fellow musician from a mile away, but making assumptions wasn't exactly in her wheelhouse. so instead she leaned against the bar, her voice raised so she could be heard over the loud crowd. "hi! what can i get for ya?"

the morrigan has never had sisters, she’s not truly had brothers - though her cousin has tried. but in many ways, they cannot be family to do what they do. to be who they are. him the man who is the nightmare in the people’s darkest dreams, she the truth that she speaks that makes it so. how twisted the fates humours to make them so. unmatched and poorly paired to their families. yet blood binds them, and they choose each other as surely as they choose to be different from the men who raised them.
yet feyre — she is as close to a sister as mor has ever imagined having. more than a mere friend, she is the one she feels safest with. the one who understands the power it takes to be yourself in a place that will crush and destroy you. feyre archeron is the strongest woman that she has ever met, and she is blessed by the cauldron and the gods to have her.
an arm links through feyre’s, more leaning so her cheek just rests on the taller woman’s shoulder. long blonde hair loose down her back as she gives a hum of assent. someone to talk to, not someone to decipher, not someone to bicker, not someone who will hold every word against her. just someone to talk. so mor nods, a flicker of a smile pulling on her full lips.
‘ you know darling feyre, i do believe you’re the best thing rhysand ever brought home. so much better than the illyrians. they have their uses but they are just so loud ‘
a flippant tone, not simply her easily masking one, not the one she slips on in irreverence for the masses who have expectations of her. but the genuine fun loving woman who has at last found a kindred spirit; a sister.
❛ you know you can always talk to me. ❜ // mor && feyre // @nightdomina

@sirencfdeath sent: 017. a closed down prison, ghosts of violent history echoing in empty cells. ► from this meme.
This is ridiculous. All the assignments Rhys has taken since getting hired by this absurdly profitable company and this might take the cake for "biggest pain in the ass"-- and it's even worse because he'd volunteered for it.
But how could he resist the chance to work on some of Hyperion's biggest efforts on Pandora? Even if this former prison-- located only a few miles away from Opportunity for convenience's sake-- smells like a dead body wrapped in a rotten sock, with a little tender loving care, Rhys is sure it'll become a pivotal addition to Hyperion's goals for civilisation.
For now, though, it's absolute shit. Figuratively and literally, since Rhys is pretty sure there's some dried shit on the walls forming your typical Pandoran psycho graffiti.
He's waiting for someone meant to act as his partner on this endeavour, though he can't imagine anyone else stupid enough to sign up for work like this. On his end, Rhys is meant to create a record and then a 3-D diagram of the prison's layout-- Dahl had it made years before Hyperion muscled in on the territory, and the initial blueprints had been taken away with them when they retreated. A diagram, they said, would make remodelling easier to make it less green and more yellow. And Rhys' cybernetics are supposed to make this diagram stuff easy, even if God knows he'd never thought he'd be using them this way when he got them.
Rocking on the balls of his feet, Rhys hopes his work partner comes soon. If he has to stay here any longer than initially agreed on, he might blow his own brains out.

so I see two common threads in takes on alistair performing the dark ritual with morrigan, the first being alistair romancers making it All About Their Warden and how Sad they are that their man slept with another woman, which. ok. (sometimes they take it a step further and like, take it out on him for doing it? which. you're the one who talked him into it. girl. cope. but I digress.)
the second take is to make it All About Alistair and how Sad they are for him that he's coerced into having sex he doesn't want with a person he doesn't particularly like and! genuinely, yes, that's awful.
but I so rarely see even a moment of consideration for morrigan's position in the proceedings, how she was... also? coerced into the dark ritual? by her mother, and by the knowledge that she alone has the power to do something that could prevent the deaths of her friends and companions?
"how terrible for alistair, he doesn't WANT to have sex with morrigan" granted! but. well. morrigan doesn't WANT to fuck alistair either, obviously. so can we just like. have a shred of consideration for the girl who was raised for the purpose of being nothing more than a womb. as long as we're feeling sorry for people in a bad situation. I'm so tired.

do you actually have a ranking or like. rundown of each love interest's particular brand of insanity re: tranquil beloved...? or if that's too big an ask perhaps the highlights.. i am sitting so attentively reading all of the ones you've detailed thus far
in no particular order
zevran: cruel to the end to ask him to have his love’s blood on his hands again, but if he believed it was what they would have wanted, it would be the gentlest, tenderest, of assassinations
morrigan: what power does a templar possess that is beyond her ability to reverse? she will claw the answer from the far corners of the earth and the furthest reaches of the fade before she abandons what is hers
leliana: once, the chantry sunburst was a comfort, a sign of refuge in a world of darkness. now she can only see the one burned into their skin, the wondrous gifts the maker gave to them stolen in the maker’s name, the cruellest game he has played yet. could she keep her faith through such a test? would she even want to?
alistair: there is a hollow in his life that can’t be laughed around. a sick weight in the stomach, remembering flipping his runic token between his fingers in distraction through every chantry lecture where they promised this was necessary. he’s angry. he’s beginning to think he might be a very angry person, really. he’s beginning to think he’s got good reason
fenris: he wonders if, when the lyrium was touched to their forehead, it burned the way his does. he thinks better of asking. there was a time when magic felt like a curse on them both that he couldn’t break. he wants it back
anders: history always repeats itself. there are certain inevitabilities, foregone conclusions, lessons the circle teaches well. you escape, you get caught. you love something, they take it away. you destroy the last thread tethering a mage to humanity—you’re that brutal, that cruel, that stupid—and all you’ll have left is an abomination
merrill: she never understood tranquillity until it was this close; she could never really believe it was possible. it doesn’t matter. her love’s not quite here right now, even as she chatters away to them, but it doesn’t matter. you can fix anything, as long as you’re willing to pay the price
isabela: it’s her own fault, really. her own fault, for taking a chance on someone so targeted, so foolish, so—brave. her own fault for believing them, when they promised she wasn’t going to lose them. she should leave. there’s nothing left for her here. but it’s gotten so hard to run away
sebastian: this changes nothing. his love is as cold as the portraits that line the halls of the palace in starkhaven, as silent and empty as the chantry statues that offer no guidance for what will come. he still kisses their cheek, takes their hand, walks at their side. he is still a husband; he still has his vows, and one more to add to the rest—to find who blackened the maker’s name with this, and teach them what His judgement truly looks like

Friendly reminder that Azriel canonically met Gwyn before Elain.
Azriel met Elain in ACOMAF, Chapter 24. Meanwhile, the attack on Sangravah was mentioned in ACOMAF, Chapter 18:
"[...] But Azriel confirmed that they’d raided the memorial in Sangravah three days ago. They’re looking for something—or found it.” Azriel nodded in confirmation, even as Mor cast a surprised look in his direction. Azriel gave her an apologetic shrug back.
Notice that the above line ^ in quotations was being said by Rhys. Now, this was Gwyn's account of the events:
“Azriel slaughtered all of them within moments. He didn’t hesitate. But I could barely move, and when I tried to get up … He gave me his cloak and wrapped me in it. Morrigan arrived a few minutes later, and then Rhysand appeared, and it became clear some of the soldiers had gotten away with the piece of the Cauldron, so Azriel headed after them. Mor healed me as best she could, then brought me to the library. [...]" (ACOSF, Chapter 68)
SJM literally retconned the events of Sangravah so that Azriel would be the one to save Gwyn. In ACOMAF, Rhys said that "Azriel confirmed" and the wording implied that he did not know about the raid until Azriel's intel. But they were both there in the aftermath of the assault, so why did Azriel have to confirm that it took place if they were already present? Furthermore, the original version suggested Mor was uninvolved (notice her surprise as Rhys was speaking), but in ACOSF, SJM rewrote the scene so that she was present as well.
Notice again that Azriel's shadows are prone to vanishing whenever Elain is around (from his bonus chapter) whereas they are curious about Gwyn, dance with her breath and sing to her. Azriel notes twice that the shadows seem to be responding to music coming from Gwyn.
You know what has been repeatedly compared to music?
"Those golden threads between their very souls shone with the words, as if they formed a harp strummed by a heavenly hand.
For it was music between their souls." (ACOSF, Chapter 58)
That's right, Nessian's mating bond.
And you know what else took place in Chapter 58? The solstice... where Azriel's bonus chapter occurred. Where his shadows heard silent music from Gwyn and sang back in answer. Where it was mentioned that his shadows have ALWAYS been prone to vanishing whenever Elain is around.
I won't be surprised if we get a scene where after Azriel realizes his mating bond with Gwyn, his shadows tell him that they have always known about it, which is why they keep actively avoiding Elain.
