the introduction of ryuji otogi, probably the most underutilized side character in all of yugioh, is perhaps one of the biggest flubs in the yugioh anime.

we could have had a literal clown try to kill yugi but nnnoooooo. what, had they already met their clown quota when they turned the puppetmaster in duelist kingdom into whatever the hell that was?

it's just such a better character arc to have otogi turn against his own clown dad to save yugi and co! character development! sigh, i'm sorry otogi.

(also, the clown dad makes so much sense with otogi's makeup. like. his eyeiner is literally clown eyeliner i can't.)
