a/n. ahh hii everyone! it’s been a while since i’ve posted smth for you guys bc i’ve been so busy recently :( but nvm that- today isn’t about me,,, it’s about the birthday boi !! 🥳 happy riki day! this drabble is for a collab with @linoragi ! rey wrote a lil drabble for hoon’s bday, which you can find here it’s literally so cute and deserves sm love SO GO READ IT 100/10 RECOMMEND ITS SO CUTE PLS anyways, i hope you enjoy! <3

you met riki in kindergarten. the teacher was going on about the letters of the alphabet and how to read certain words, but all your tiny, five-year-old mind was occupied with was the boy seated behind you on the carpet. nishimura riki.

it was during that time of your life, in the middle of the school year, that you bursted out loud your crush on riki after first whispering it to your friend beside you. you were aware that riki was sitting directly behind you, but you couldn’t find your immature mind to care. you shouted out loud for the teacher and the whole class to hear your proclaimed love for the boy who you barely knew at the time.

little did you know, riki felt the same way.

at that age, a mere crush, if you could even call it that, could only be taken so far. growing up, riki was still by your side and you two got closer and closer as the years continued on.

but neither of you ever forgot the scene when you so shamelessly exclaimed, “i have a crush on riki!” during your time in kindergarten.

perhaps what ingrained it into your minds even deeper was that within the same week, you squished his cheeks with the palms of your tiny hands before deliberately smothering his right one with a wet kiss. you quickly turned around, immediately distracted by the activity you were occupied with before, happily jumping around again. because of this, you failed to notice riki take the back of his hand and without hesitation, hurriedly wipe the area your lips had come in contact with, more disgusted than pleased, really.

before you knew it, you two made it all the way to highschool, still friends, and closer than ever. it was riki’s sixteenth birthday.

standing in the empty classroom alone with your best friend, he took a step closer.

you professed your love for him over a decade ago, and now it was his turn to confess to you.

he just hoped you still felt the same, because as the years progressed, his love for you only grew.

you replied, telling him you felt the same after he nervously declared his feelings for you, and his heart went on to do crazy flips within his chest. then his tummy began bursting with butterflies, as did yours. all of a sudden, the walls riki held up in order to appear tough around you came crashing down, and he almost melted in his spot from the overwhelming joy of you reciprocating his once secreted feelings.

in that moment, he couldn’t help but pull you in for a sweet kiss, being a first for both of you. first crush, first kiss, first relationship, first love.

and from that day forward, time would only continue, but your relationship would bloom, blossom and flourish, growing stronger than ever before.
