smth abt returning stray stupid animals

Lounging on his leafy bed, Mightyena strewn across him with its head on his chest, and surrounded by the sounds of rainfall, Archie considered this Secret Base his best one yet. Nestled in a bush on Route 119, right beside the river running through the area, and connected to tall grass full of wild Pokémon. Yeah, this could be his new temporary home.

The sound of barking tore him from his thoughts, followed by Mightyena barking back and jumping off him. He grunted at the sudden loss of weight and quickly got up, wiping leaves off himself before moving the branches that covered the entrance to his base. Outside was a Mightyena identical to his own that was jumping and barking, then sniffing at the other and pushing against Archie's legs. He leaned down and ran his hands through its long fur, looking more confused than anything. Judging by the fact it was barely wet and how taken care of it looked, he knew it wasn't wild.

"What port're you from, boy? Huh? Where's your trainer?" He muttered, looking concerned and searching it for anything that might tell him who it belonged to. Obviously someone in the area, maybe nearby since it ran to Archie... But how did it find his base? Or him specifically? When he pulled his hands away, the covering of ash on them told him exactly who it belonged to. "Oooh. That scallywag must've followed me here, huh?" Archie smirked and stood, exiting his base.

"Go on, boyo. Go home." With a yip, the Mightyena took off, followed closely by Archie's own and himself. He swam alongside it as it crossed the stream and, only a short walk later, arrived at a different base. Both Pokémon barked at the entrance until its lone tenant came out.

"Mightyena, I told you-"

"'This yours?" It took all of Archie's will to not let out the laugh that was building inside him, instead flashing Maxie the best grin he could. It was met with a cold, half-lidded stare as the Magma Leader took his Pokémon and basically dragged it inside the cave. Within moments a rock was placed at the entrance, blocking Archie and hs Mightyena from entering.

"... You're welcome!"
