In the Quiet
[Laszlo Kreizler Masterlist]
Pairing: Laszlo Kreizler x Reader (no gender, race, or body type given)* *reader is an aristocrat who has aspirations of being an artist
Synopsis: You and Laszlo spend a quiet moment together while you reflect on how you met. *Fluff* Meet-Cute*
Word Count: ~1,250
A/N: This is my first time writing Laszlo. I hope you enjoy it!
Tumblr media
Your fingers weave through his silky hair, his head resting in your lap as the two of you recline on a picnic blanket. The soft melody of the babbling brook beside you is amplified by the quiet stillness surrounding you. The warm breeze off of the water tousles your hair and tickles your features. The occasional bird chirps a melody just for the two of you.
You breathe easier away from the city. You know he does as well, even though he thrives in the unruly environment. He needs this break, away from the darkness and melancholy that he lets consume him. Here, he can find peace without distraction. Of course, it wasn't easy. Each small town had its own history, and with it, its own tragic stories to analyze.
Laszlo saw the potential for psychopathy everywhere. His mind raced with ideas of what might be, and more importantly, why. He had a thirst for knowledge and understanding, unlike anyone you had ever known—one that could not easily be quenched. There was always more: more to learn, more to observe, more to understand.
You found that Laszlo appreciated the subtle details often overlooked by others. You were the same in that way. It was what had brought you together—the details—just, not the same ones. Where he saw despair and pain, you saw the possibility of hope and promise.
"What do you see?" His confident voice questions behind you.
Your body tenses at the intrusion. You were so focused on your work you hadn't noticed his appearance.
"Sir?" Your gaze settles on the curious man, now standing beside you. You observe how his hands rest casually on his walking stick before him, but his focus is not on you, rather your subject.
"Please, pray tell me if you would, what is it that you observe." He gestures to the woman on the bench across the path that you had been drawing.
You run your charcoal-covered fingers nervously over the cloth you had beside you. His polished appearance reminded you how your current state reflected poorly on your status. It was why you had come to this park, away from the aristocracy uptown, away from those that told you art was a skill to possess but not suitable for more than a mere hobby to entertain and impress those of importance.
Your already straight spine lengthens as you attempt to reclaim your station. Your gaze shifts between the woman and your canvas. "I see loss."
"Very astute." He interrupts the rest of your thoughts. "I observe the same. I surmise the young woman has suffered a great deal. The loss of a child, perchance."
"A husband," you correct, quite confidently. The look on his face tells you he is not used to being challenged. You turn your drawing toward him, pointing out the simple metal ring the woman held in her hand. It was no longer visible at present, but you had captured it earlier as she turned it between her fingers.
"You have a tremendous eye for detail." He offers with a raise of his brow and a simple nod, impressed with your deduction. "May I?"
He takes the seat beside you, and you hand him your portrait. He carefully accepts it and studies it more closely. His gaze shifts between the drawing and the subject, "It is very good. Howbeit, might I still offer a suggestion?"
"If you wish." You nod anxiously, your fingers twisting the cloth in your hands. You knew accepting feedback from strangers was something you would have to learn to endure if you wanted to show your work at a gallery one day. You just hadn't expected it so soon.
He hands the portrait back to you. "The eyes—they're not quite correct."
The corners of your lip pull up, certain you had been careful in your interpretation. "They are," you insist. "Or, they will be."
His lips press together, and his head shifts to the sides in contemplation, not quite understanding your meaning.
"Life is filled with consequences: some good, many bad." You grab a stick of charcoal and continue sketching. You no longer felt unsettled by his presence; in fact, you felt a boost in your confidence. He seemed genuinely interested in how you perceived the world. You did not feel any judgment on his part for your enjoyment of this work. "This woman may have suffered, yet she presses on. She sits in the quiet here instead of satisfying her pain in weeping or, perhaps, indulging in less savory means. She has hope. I saw just a glimmer of it earlier as the scent of the blossoms in the breeze caught her attention, pulling her momentarily from the melancholy. Although finite, the spark will grow until she is whole. That is what I chose to capture."
"The loss of another—a paramour—is not so easily overcome." His voice is more distant now, heavier. You sense he speaks from experience.
"Nothing worthwhile is easy, good Sir. However, in time, perspectives can change as long as one holds onto hope."
"Perhaps."
The soft sounds of your charcoal etching across the canvas fill the comfortable quiet that settles between the two of you.
Your fingers brush the strands of chocolate hair off of his forehead, as you press your soft lips to his skin. You could never have imagined how that chance meeting would change your life. You chew your lower lip as you pull away.
His warm brown eyes meet yours. His mouth opens to speak but closes, leaving only a warm smile in reply to your touch.
You scratch lightly over his lush beard, savoring the coarse texture against the pads of your fingertips. Your own smile spreads as your gazes lock together.
This was good for him. He needed this break in the country as much as you did. It had become somewhat of a retreat for you. Your family was not thrilled with your choice of partner. Despite his status and education, as an Alienist, he was considered a less than ideal match. Your parents had even offered to support your wild pursuits to become an artist to dissuade your interest in him, but it was too late. Neither of you cared much what others thought about your pairing. The world was changing, and so were you. You and Laszlo would press forward carving a path that fit your ideals, not that of the masses.
The two of you needed each other more than you could have realized. You needed his understanding, disregard for conventions, and the way he challenged you in ways society could not. He needed your kindness, generosity, but most of all, light.
The details had brought you together, but it was in these quiet moments when the two of you could just be that your love blossomed. It was where your relationship developed and spoke louder than words ever could.
Laszlo captures your hand in his good one and brings it to his lips, brushing feathery kisses on your skin. Your eyes close, relishing his tender affection. It wasn't often you had him all to yourself, so you treasured moments like this.
Your free hand continues stroking gently through his hair, letting him rest in your care. The glow of the sun bathes you in its warmth as the gentle breeze wraps you in its comfort. You stay nestled together, just the two of you, in the quiet, letting your adoration speak for itself.

I'm not very good at drawing horror and blood but I recently have been getting into OFF lately so I figured I'd try to draw batter to pratice lighting and shadows
I also made my own au where batter and hugo switch places but I doubt anyone would like it or even read it heck I couldn't even get a single like on any of my posts
But here I go anyway :
So common belief that the world of OFF isnt real and that its all happening inside Hugo's head because hugo is in a comma and that the batter resembles the father and the queen resembles the mother
And that the guardians are the boy's immune system and organs that are intolerant to the drug liquid plastic that is being experimented on hugo
The mother was always a working woman and never gave hugo attention while the dad was a straight forward and loving man (I also have a personal theory that he's religious)
The mother wants hugo to live but the father wants to let the boy die because he's tired of seeing his own child in pain everyday
Ok now that I have that out of the way here's my au:
In this au its the father that ends up in a comma and hugo is the one who tries to save him from dying
Backstory to how the dad ended up in a comma:
Hugo in this au is healthy and lives a normal life the father was once a baseball player (as a hobby) so hugo got inspired by his dad and started to take baseball classes at his school
One day the dad was dropping hugo off for baseball practice and while waving goodbye while slowly moving out of the parking lot a reckless older student who wasn't looking quickly backs up his truck hitting the father and sending him into a comma
Ok now for the characters:
We enter the game as hugo and we are greeted by the judge and we start our journey of "purifying" the world just like batter
The enemies represent different family members who dislike or or even hate the father and the father's phobias or fears as well as microbes or poisons in the father's system
Then we have other characters like pets, neighbors, friends who are good guys or people who side with hugo in the this au
Also the puzzles would changed in this au
Hugo is a child and the father would probably play alot with hugo and his games since the mother was always busy ,so instead of floating boxes we'd get more complicated versions of kids puzzles like connect the dots or fill in the shapes etc.
Now for who each character represents and then I'll move on to what the goal of the game is or what Hugo's mission is:
Hugo= he represents the son in real life but he also resembles a new antibiotic that's being experimented on the father
The judge = in real he's the family house cat named milk ingame he's a guide but I have my own head canon
so alot of people tend to draw batter with his eyes closed some draw 4 eyes some draw no eyes at all
I like to think that the father irl has bad eye sight or sensitive eyes so he wears special glasses but will not wear any glasses when at home because he doesn't like to so he will walk around with his eyes closed
So milk will guide him throughout the house by purring or meowing at him
As for the smile the judge has on his face hugo likes the movie Alice in wonderland over and over so the image of the Cheshire cat would be embedded in the dad's memory which is why the judge appears that way
He views the judge as someone who is helpful
The queen = the queen is his wife however they start to have alot of problems and arguments before the father fell in a comma
And the relatives try to convince her to turn off the life support and move on with life
Dedan= irl he's the father's brother in law with a snappy attitude and he hates the father alot and even objected in thier wedding day he will do anything to hurt the father or cause trouble
The father sees his brother in law nothing more than a all bark no bite a big mouth
Japhet= in real life is the lady that lives next door (yes I KNOW japhet is male but he's based off if her in the father's head)
She's is very controlling person who enjoys gossip and can't mind her own business always sticking her nose where she can as well as pushing everyone around she does everything she can to get attention and impress people and she's flirted with the father mutiple times but she's ignored her every time
She has very loud and noisy birds and has killed thier other family cat Venice saying that she did it as self defense (Venice is Valerie basically)
The father views her as a parasite
Enoch= he resembles another dad that takes his kid to baseball practice but is in bad terms with the mother and will constantly pick on hugo for fun
He assumes if the father approaches him its because his wife told him to do so
and will constantly say that his child and wife are happy ,living a life with no problems thinking that he's got life figured out
Even though its clear that his son isn't enjoying baseball at all, is quite over wieght as well as his wife ignores him all the time not to mention he's constantly eating meaning that he has some sort of food addiction it seems he sees no irony in his life at all
The father sees him as an irresponsible over wieght person who's always lying to himself and to blind to see the truth thinking that his life is ok when it's clearly not
Zacharie = irl he's the father's best friend since middle school and they've known each other for years he was the best man at the wedding he's bisexual and in a relationship with a girl named sweetie (please don't hate me batterie shippers QWQ!) He used to crush on the father and even confessed to him on the wedding day he was heartbroken but accepted that the relationship was never gonna happen and was even mad at his best friend but realized it was wrong of him to feel that way
He eventually moves on
He likes to bring and buy alot stuff and show them to his best pal later somegimes illegal stuff (he even brought weed over one time oh boy) he's like an uncle to hugo and is always happy to help and defend his best friend no matter what
He views him as a brother and family member aswell as a very optimistic chill dude and will jokingly refer to him as "the merchant"
Sugar: irl she's zacharie's gf (before her he had 2 toxic exes and she helped him out of those toxic relationships) she and the father don't really talk all that much so he knows little to absolutely nothing about her aside from the fact that she likes to talk funny sometimes and is really into dolls and aliens and a slight addiction to eating pixie straws (straws filled with powered candy or sugar)
He views her as a silent person nothing much
The elsens= they are the people that the father meets/sees/interacts with everyday/every once in a while but don't have much of a connection with (you know like a co worker you have small talk with or barely ever see)
Now for the plot :
After the father enters a comma the son starts to go from school to the hospital (they're very close to each other and you can say hugo is 5-7 years old and ) and visits his dad everyday and calls out to him hoping it'd wake him up
The mother scolds him for running off without super vision and that his dad won't wake up if he keeps calling him that whatever he does is useless that his father will remain to be a lifeless bag of meat on a bed
Hugo doesn't give up ignoring his mother's words
She realizes that hugo has an obsession with his unconscious father that is affecting his studies along with his social life
Zacharie doesn't make this any better because he offers to pick up hugo after school to prevent him from getting abducted or lost along with his jokes all the time
She slowly starts to Contemplate turning off the life support machine wondering if it would fix everything
Hugo hasn't been paying attention in class and thier marriage has been having a issues lately her family never liked or accepted him she sees zacharie and others as annoying and problems bringers and maybe they'd have less expenses if hugo didn't have to go to baseball pratice every day not to mention he'd less likely get hurt if he stopped playing
Everyone else started to convince her to turn off life support they discuss this next to the unconscious father
She prevents zacharie from seeing hugo and locks out any other connections the fatehr has
finally she becomes convinced however there's 1 barrier preventing her from doing that.....Hugo
The only person who truly gives hugo attention and love is his father without his father he'd feel lost and scared his mother is always working and doesn't give him much attention
Everyone tells him to give up on his dad and move on but hugo stands his ground
Alot of the arguments and conversations happen in the hospital room next to the father so he hears everything in his comma which leads to the creation of the world of OFF in his head
Therefore we play as hugo through out the game (dressed in a baseball outfit) solving puzzles and fighting enemies "purifying" the world
Not much changes the boss battles the add ons etc. Will remain the same in this au
Maybe there will be more rubber duck /duck/ bird themed stuff in this au aside from the pedalos (ex:move the boxes to make them look like a duck idk lol)
However the final boss will change
Canonly batter is stopped by the judge but in this au the judge sides with hugo because its the queen (the mother) who is trying to turn the switch off and hugo is trying to prevent that
So instead of the judge stopping hugo
Hugo will meet the queen, she will tell him to halt and not bother going any further that her intentions will not change hugo will begin to tell her off everything she's done wrong she will respond saying that she's doing it for thier sake (Hugo's and her's) but hugo calls her out and tells her its not true and she loses her patience with him leading to a boss fight if hugo wins then she will refer to him as "my little sweetheart" and fade into dust
"The room" will also change instead of hugo it'll be his dad (the batter)chained to a wall (basically a prisoner in his own mind) hugo will take 1 step forward activating a trap causing him to plummet down a tube and fall unconscious for a few minutes
When he wakes up he sees the queen and all the guardians standing before him the queen states that he can give up or die trying then she speaks to the puppeteer (the player) the you are given 2 options
1.aide with the queen
2.side with hugo
If you side with the queen you will have the guardians ok your side then Hugo's appearance will change as well he will appear to have a large head with a huge gaping mouth a baby rattle and apron and speech bubbles that say "wah wah" "whine whine" (stating that his mother sees him as a cry baby)
If you defeat hugo then the switch is immediately turned off and it gives 1 out of the 2 bad endings this ending is called "check mate" as a reference to a queen from chess
If you side with hugo then you will be defeated but you won't get a game over yet instead the queen will give you 1 last chance
Then you are given 3 options
1."surrender" 2."gasp for help" 3."cry"
If you choose surrender then you will get the 2nd bad ending in which in life support is turned off the father dies hugo becomes lonely with his mother busy all the time (and not allowing him out side the house and not trusting people) which leads to hugo growing up cold, plain and unloving
At some point there's a scene where adult hugo stares at his old mother laying on the kitchen floor in pain for a few minutes instead of helping her immediately indicating that he doesn't care
If you choose "gasp for help" then you will get the good ending "aye batta batta, strike!" In which hugo will call for help (while in deep pain from the fight) after a few calls judge, zacharie, sugar and a few elsens will come to the rescue and revive you fighting by your side allowing you to defeat the queen and guardians
Everything slowly starts to go back and the father wakes up from his comma everyone in the room stares in shock but hugo had the biggest smile on his face while standing next to his dad's bed "did...I miss something?"
"...daddy *breaks into tears*"
The 3rd ending called "better late than never" is triggered when you choose "cry"
Hugo will cry very loudly
The mother changes her mind and doesn't turn off life support but hugo stops visiting his dad and similar to the 2nd bad ending hugo grows up to be cold and unloving 13-16 years later hugo visits his father again and he finally wakes up from his comma and is discharged from the hospital after 1 year of rehabilitation therapy
By now the mother had remarried and the father missed his son's childhood so now he has to relive his life
However hugo meets a girl who is a complete opposite to him at work and church (rainbow hair, optimistic, enjoys music of various kinds, loves cute things, baking, jokes, and artist etc.) And is forced to work with her as well as she tries to get Hugo's attention so he asks his father for advice on how to get rid of this woman which leads to alot stuff going on and hugo allowing how to love and live life leading him to falling in love with the girl and becoming a new man
(This is personally my favorite ending lol and I MIGHT write fanfic of it on wattpad or here idk tbh )
Anyway this my OFF au I GUESS the name can change to the ON au or OFF/ON au lmao idk
Reblogs and feed back is appreciated
PLEASE DONT STEAL MY AU i worked hard on this thing spent 5 hours to write it all
Heh I sat this as of anyone is even gonna read whatever I dount it'll get noticed at all

ELU Headcanon #20: Their fondest childhood memories.
...
Sometimes at night when they're just holding each other; they would talk and talk about life, about their fears, about their dreams and aspirations. Yes, they were that couple. Much like the first time Lucas introduced the idea of parallel universes to Eliott. Eliott could not stop thinking about how many ways they could have each other. But instead of, "a lot." This time, Lucas responds with a dazed, "infinity."
And ever since, Eliott loved listening to anything Lucas would say. Tonight, they were feeling nostalgic because of Eliott, who had asked how Lucas had come by in playing the piano. Sighing with a smile, Lucas looked into Eliott's eyes. "It's because of my mother...before everything went to shit. It wasn't always bad—in fact the best memories of when I was young was getting piano lessons from her…" He starts reminiscing, remembering again how her long beautiful fingers would glide through the keys as if they were kites in a steady wind. Her soft voice, encouraging him on. Even when he was beyond frustrated with himself, she kept at him. And when he finally got a melody right, she would hug him tight, whispering sweet praises and loving words. A mother's pride in her child's accomplishment. Next thing Lucas knew, he was being hugged tightly by a comforting embrace. He didn't even realize he was crying until he tasted salt on his lips. "—It's okay, I got you, baby. Your mother loves you so much—You must know how proud she was and still is of you and how grateful I am…” Eliott whispers gently, swaying them back and forth.
After some time, Lucas finally moved and reposition himself to look up at Eliott. He bit his lip and asked, "Thank you...but aren't you going to tell me your fondest memories too?" Eliott, who was a bit distracted by the way Lucas was chewing on his lips, almost missed the question. "Huh—I mean..Yeah, there's really not a lot that I can recall…" Lucas gives him a look. "Okay, okay. Hmmm...I do remember climbing this one big tree." Lucas was chuckling now, "a tree, really? That's it?" Eliott laughed too and flipped them over with him looking down at Lucas now. "No, it was a special tree. The one I grew up climbing the most, the one that once you got on top, you felt like you were on top of the world! ...Well, to be honest, it probably wasn't the biggest tree but to little kid me? Fuck! It was the biggest tree in the world! I was so inspired that I would draw up there, you know. My parents were always concerned about me falling from the branches but not me..." Eliott started to see it now. The green leaves that tickled his skin as he climbed up. The stabbing pain of bark digging into his soles as he ascended. The sun, the sky, the birds, which seemed to glow brighter and brought excitement into his monotonous life. All he wanted to do was be in his fantasy world. Where he was the captain of the world and the tree was his command station. Or it was his castle and he was waiting for his friend, the dragon to come back from his search for the prettiest treasure in the land. The possibilities were endless! His imagination was key to how much he would grow up to be so artistic. But…
Eliott's demeanor changed all of a sudden, "...but they cut that tree down one day. It apparently had grown too big and the land that it was on was for sale. The new owners wanted to get rid of it to build a house. It devastated me. Fucking destroyed me. It felt like losing a home, my sanctuary." Eliott smiled sadly, "but you know, I don't need a place to feel safe anymore." Eliott takes Lucas' hand and kisses his knuckles gingerly. Lucas was already trembling but asked anyways, "and why's that?" Eliott smiled brightly and leaned his forehead against Lucas and whispered, "because I have you now, my sanctuary."
...
(Note: holy fuuuck, how did this Elu HC turn into a short story all of a sudden?? Feels, just feels 😭😫 This is for the Anon who hasn't been feeling well. ☺️ I hope you enjoy this!)

TITLE: GRACE AND TRUTH
DATE: 13th OCTOBER, 2020
💎
Heavenly Father we thank you for another opportunity to minister, Father forgive us our sins and let the blood of Jesus cleanse us from all unrighteousness and let your presence cover us in Jesus name. Amen
There are churches that make people feel condemned, they will tell you what they are against and they will let you feel guilty then there are other churches, they don't want to make people feel condemned, their number goal is to make people feel comfortable so they rarely talk about sin.
When you study the life of Jesus, this is what you'll find, Jesus did not offend everybody but He did offend people some of the time and the reason why He did that was He was balanced.
Two things I'm going to talk about is Grace and Truth.
Jesus was perfectly balanced between Grace and Truth. Let me give you a background, John was very close with Jesus, he was part of the inner circles of Jesus, he tells us about why Jesus was a captivating figure
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
The first part of John's scriptures talks about incarnation, that is the unbelievable truth that God literally came to earth and took a form of a human being and dwelt among men.
When John talks about seeing His glory , he's talking about all his life from his birth to to his death and to his resurrection.
John says it's an amazing thing,in His birth He came out of a womb and in his death He came out of a tomb.
From a womb , He was a God that came out of a womb but from the tomb He was a man that came back from the dead.
This is the foundation of Christianity, John gives us another dimension of who Jesus is, what was so special about Jesus that made Him so attractive that everyone wanted to touch Him and meet Him, that when He came to the synagogue, or to the pharisees or the scribes , these were the people that came and listened to Him.
In verse 14 John says He was .. full of grace and truth. Jesus was perfectly balanced, if you follow Jesus, you'll be full of grace and truth. If your church follow Jesus, it will be full of grace and truth, if your ministry is follow Jesus, it would be full of grace and truth.
Here's the difference, with Jesus it came naturally, some of us are more into grace than into truth, for example in my family mum was madam grace and dad was mister truth, if you want something you go to grace. Mr truth will discipline no matter how you beg. With Jesus, grace and truth were cut up and we're perfectly balanced, he never shared grace at the expense of truth or never shared the truth at the expense of grace. What I want to share with you is,how our churches can be balanced.
Our churches needs to be balanced, our conviction needs to be balanced our ministry needs to be balanced, we as individuals and believers need to be balanced. Why this balanced is very important
1. WE NEED THE COMPASSION OF GRACE.
Now listen to what John says, John says Jesus was full of grace and truth, I believe it wasn't coincidence that grace came first before truth, let me tell you, if you were a Jew 2000 years ago, in the first century of Jewish culture, most people value truth , they wanted to hear truth teller.
So if you were a Jewish child and you were growing up and reading the Torah, you grew up and learning the Jewish bible from a young age many of the Jewish people have learned or memorized the old testament by the time they will get to the high school.
John also talking to the Jewish people said you understand the truth better than you understand grace because the over archive of the Torah was on Truths.
When we think of the old testament , we think of the commandments, You shall do this, You shall not do that, You shall go here, You shall not go there, You shall say this and You shall not say that.
It's all about laws, from divorce to regulations, so the Jewish religion was all about Truth. You do find grace in the old testament, God was going to restore the entire world in the flood, when He looked at the world all He saw was evil, all He saw was wickedness, He even got to a point He regretted making the world.
Then you read this beautiful verse in Genesis, but Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord, that word favor literally means grace, God in His wisdom chose not to destroy the world and everything in it.
The world won't be here if it wasn't for grace, that story like many other story in the old testament illustrates grace but the truth of the matter is the primary emphasis of the old testament was not grace, the primary emphasis was law.
That's why John points out in verse 17, For the law was given by Moses, but then John said Jesus showed up, the light of His grace shined out of His life so brightly everybody could see it, when you got around Jesus you could smell grace , you could taste grace, you could feel grace.
Jesus loved hanging around with sinners and sinners loved hanging around with Jesus, Jesus drew lawbreakers and unbelievers like a magnet draws iron.
2. WE NEED THE CONVICTION OF TRUTH.
We need the compassion of grace but we need the conviction of truth. Now let's read the verse again,... Jesus was full of grace and truth.
Jesus wasn't one sided in the approach to people, when Jesus came to any table , He brought two things, on one hand He brought grace and the other hand He brought truth.
Grace says there's a way to God for anyone, truth says there's only one way to God. Grace says redemption is possible, truth says repentance and turning from sin is necessary.
Grace says I love you just the way you're, truth says I love you too much to let you stay that way, grace says I love sinners, truth says I hate sin.
Grace says anybody can come to God, truth says everybody must come through Jesus
Grace says God is loved, truth says God is Holy, Grace says there's a heaven and you can go there truth says there's a hell and you can go there.
Grace says there's salvation for all and for those who desire it, truth says truth says there's judgment for those who don't.
Grace says you're saved by grace through faith, truth says faith without works is dead.
We need the compassion of grace but we also need the conviction of truth , when you put those two things together , therefore we need the combination of the two, so listen to John's concluding statement.
John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
In other words grace and truth are joined by him, let me you why this is so important, grace without truth is deceptive , truth without grace is defective , let me put it to you mathematically.
Grace minus truth equals liberalism, truth minus grace equals to legalism. Those who want truth without grace are quick to judge and slow to forgive but grace plus truth equals to liberty.
So if you want grace without truth, you will be quick to excuse and you'll be slow to confront. If you want truth without grace you'll be quick to judge and slow to forgive.
What is liberalism and what is legalism all one brings liberty, birds need to wings to fly, with only one wing they're grounded forever. The gospel is the most important message Paul said in Romans 15:16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
The only reason we are here in the group is the gospel, even the gospel has to have two wings before it flies without them they're grounded that is grace and truth.
I want to speak the truth but I want to speak in the spirit of grace , I want to give grace but I want to give it in the spirit of truth.
Jesus wasn't 50% grace and 50% truth, He was a 100% grace and a 100% truth, when you go to Jesus' ministry all you'll find is grace , on the other hand Jesus welcomed sinners and tax collectors. He went to their homes, He hangout with them, He put His arms around a leper when no one will.
He welcomed little children to come to Him and sit on His lap, He will touch the untouchable, He healed the lepers the lame and the blind, He was full of grace , He made sure a convicted person of felony that was hanging on the cross next to Him received an eternal life before he died.
He lived full of grace and died full of grace, He was also all truth , He condemned the religious leaders in his time and called them lies and hypocrites, He talked more about hell than he talked about heaven , He said , you want to be my disciple, 'You have to take up your cross daily and follow me'.
He looked at the city He loved the most, Jerusalem and said judgment will come on you because you rejected me and the God that sent me.
Let me close with this, If you want to find the perfect balance of grace and truth , go to the cross of Jesus because grace and truth were joined at the heap at the cross because here is what happens, when you stand under the cross and you look up at the cross you'll hear two voices speak, you'll hear the voice of grace and grace will be saying, no matter how sinful you're ,your sins can be forgiven.
On the other hand, you'll hear the voice of truth that says, but the only reason your sins can be forgiven is because Jesus died for your sin and you must receive Him as your Lord and personal Saviour. Hallelujah
Let's fast forward, I want you to think about this, that moment when you draw out your last breathe and you open your eyes, and you're in the presence of God, you're in heaven , I believe that moment , when we walk through the corridors of eternity , you'll see grace and truth eternally personified.
When you walk in heaven, you'll say wow I'm here even though I don't deserve it and then truth is going to say when you look into those nails scars of Jesus, I am only here because You died for Me.
Heavenly Father In the name of Jesus Christ, may our life, our ministry , our words, our actions all that we are and all that we have, may it always be balanced between grace and truth and I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
