what makes me so bitter about thane in particular is just like, any time we have with anyone is so limited at the end of the day and this is even more apparent for thane, whose time is even more limited due to his illness, and for six months of what little time he had left he tried to write to his only friend and/or his lover, and he couldn’t, and for six months where shep was locked down and alone, it does seem like thane is the only one who actively tried to reach them, they didn’t get his messages, they couldn’t write back to him. 

and thane says ‘maybe we’ll keep up via the extranet’ when you see him next but you don’t end up doing that either, and he outlived his doctors’ estimations, and then his life is completely cut short because kai leng has plot armour and shep and their companions in the scene just stand there letting this 1v1 keep happening, instead of shooting that bitch while he’s down but i’m honestly just slightly angrier that what happened before is so ugly and underserved for Thane as a character if your shep was his friend or romanced him or even liked him. 

Also his death is as easily preventable as the virmire survivor’s, even MORE so imo bc previous conversations with the vs inform how they act during the coup so you have a degree of control and don’t even have to get that far, but his simply isn’t and like why?? bc kale lego needs a reason to be hated??? as if his entire existence isn’t enough??
