#there are not enough words to express his performance as dr thomas stockmann

Can I express just a surreal feeling I had a few weeks back?
I've been a fan of Matt Smith since the minute he stepped in The Doctor's shoes (so, 2010 essentially) and absolutely adored his portrayal.
And while I haven't seen much of his other work (still aiming to watch Last Night in Soho) aside from House of Dragon and that weird film called Womb, I did get the privilege to see him perform in a modern adaptation of the play, An Enemy of the People.
And you know what?
It was soooo surreal. To see Matt, in the flesh, on stage and only like 20 feet away? It was genuinely so hard to comprehend because I had dreamed of seeing him perform when I sadly missed out on the American Psycho musical a few years back, so to have had the opportunity arise (thanks mum!), I was extremely grateful.
I did wait to see if Matt was going to appear outside the stage door exit for meet and greet but as it was a matinee performance, they apparently didn't come out. Makes sense as he had a performance later that evening - I was a little bit gutted but nevertheless, so happy I got to see him perform!
He was brilliant by the way. As expected, his performance was so powerful - he still surprised me! And gave Doctor vibes, especially when he performed his speech at the end.
Sadly the show has ended now (was performing at Duke of York Theatre in London), but everyone did a fantastic job. I did get to speak to Zachary Hart who was such a gem. Polite and really earnest. I hope his career goes far wherever you are Zachary <3
But yeah. Just wanted to express that Matt seems like an utterly awesome person and seeing him perform live is even better than on television. Go Matt!
