Reposted from @theprivatemarkdown For the February 1968 issue of American Vogue, model Marisa Berenson was photographed by Richard Avedon using a gold ear sculpture made by Argentinian artist Eduardo Costa. Costa’s sculpture, made out of a mold of Marisa’s ear, was intended to be a commentary on anatomy, treating adornment as a kind of fiction. Edited by Diana Vreeland, a profile on Marisa Berenson was published in the same issue, also photographed by Avedon and hairstyling by Ara Gallant. Berenson credits her big break as a model to Ms. Vreeland, “She was a close family friend and when I was 16 she decided: "We have to photograph Marisa,’” she said. Marisa’s first photoshoot was with Bert Stern, followed by pictures for Glamour, and by then she was working with magazines all over the world, but none more than Vogue. Diana Vreeland took her under her wing. #theprivatemarkdown #luxurysale #samplesale #luxurysamplesale #TPM #fashion #marisaberenson #richardavedon #avedon #vogue #voguecover #bertstern #dianavreeland #fashioneditor #fashioneditorial #glamour #aragallant #eduardocosta #artsandfashion#eugenelacroix1 @eugenelacroix1 #photography https://www.instagram.com/p/Cedf7GiIyxI/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
