mavis felt frazzled, for lack of a better term. she’d had meetings all morning and had woken up late, meaning she hadn’t brought any lunch with her to work. it was close to 2pm before she was first able to step out of her office and when she did, she ran towards the nearest coffee shop. she wasn’t the kind of boss that had those beneath her run out to do simple tasks like retrieving her macchiato and truthfully she needed an excuse to leave the building.  when she stepped back into the office she felt far more level and as she headed for the reception area she intended to stop to offer her receptionist a proper greeting since she’d completely ignored him that morning. however, it was the presence of another person that had her stopping in her tracks. “theo?” a rather surprised laugh bubbled up past her lips and she had to blink hard to make sure that she wasn’t seeing things. “what are you doing here?”

“well... looks like you’ve prevented another cute boy from bringing me a drink.” it annoyed her to no end, the little game the other had decided to play. she didn’t know what the end goal was, what the desired outcome could possibly be. one pissed off blonde gunning for her? mission accomplished. violet grunted softly as she scarcely managed to pull herself up and out of the second story window, clambering to steady herself as she joined the brunette on the roof top of whoever’s mansion she was hiding on this weekend. “luckily for me - i came prepared,” she remarked, scrunching her nose up a bit with the most sarcastic smile she could muster as she plopped down with her shoulders resting on the highest point of the ridge, slanting her body down as the soles of shoes prevented her from sliding down against the shingles. from their current position, all of the proceedings of the party carrying on down below looked so... insignificant. keeping her promise, vi untucked the small bottle of lemon-flavored vodka from the waist of her jeans before taking a swig and holding it out to the other. “i hate you.”

𝕿hrowing her lipliner down with an exasperated sigh, anna listened to the loud music coming from the other room. it was loud - in the most distracting way - and she knew he was doing this on purpose. even though she tried to ignore it, not give in to him, she couldn’t stop herself from getting up, her body wrapped in a towel, and bang hard on his door.  ❝ brooks, stop being a dick, ❞ she called out when the music lowered,  ❝ i know you’re not that deaf yet. ❞ when the door finally opened and she was face to face with him, she scowled.  ❝ do you always have to act like a petulant child when i’m getting ready for dates? you really put a damper on my mood before i go out. ❞

Door’s unlocked. Let yourself in when you get here.
With a one elbow propped on the edge of her bathtub, Charlie’s gaze locked on her phone screen, watching carefully as her text was marked ‘delivered’. Surely, the message wasn’t a big deal, but it certainly wasn’t one she was used to sending, not even with friends or family. Charlie was always someone who valued her space, her privacy, her independence...
But Kinzie had the woman wrapped around her little finger, though she was loathe to admit it.
The thought made her groan, letting her phone fall to the tile so that she could fully submerge herself in her bath. Her eyes were quick to flutter shut, but it wasn’t before long that she heard footsteps echoing down the followed by her bathroom door creaking open. “Hi,” she greeted with a blissful sigh. “I’m gonna be honest with you, Kinz: I don’t think I’m going anywhere tonight. Why don’t you come join me in here instead?”

Dawn tapped her watch and sighed. As if that was gonna make time go any faster. It’d been what? Two minutes or so and her uber still hadn’t arrived. Annoying. She wasn’t sure why she still had to come in for these meetings. Most of her work was remote. All they had to do was shoot her an email if they wanted to talk. But no. They made her get all business casual, aka put pants on, and come out into society. Sigh. At least as a contractor, she had a chance to wear something cuter, choosing a pastel pink wide-knit sweater, a pair light wash sandblasted pencil jeans and booties. So when she was invited down the road to a local bar with the team, she hadn’t been pressed. It’d was a good choice or woulda been if she thought to bring a coat. Now she was standin outside the bar, shiverin like a chihuahua. So no, not exactly cute now. She chewed the inside of her cheek, before she caved and headed back into the inside with yet another sigh. She was-- tipsy and impatient so she saddled up next to the closest familiar face.
“Do you mind entertainin’ me for like-- ten ta twenty minutes? My uber is slow as fuck apparently and I’ll either freeze to death outside or die from second hand embarrassment. Reggie has been hittin on me all night and I just can’t tell him one more time that I ain’t interested. It’s too painful,”

Jade needed her time to wrap her head around this whole thing with Rory and Campbell. She was all for some kinky shit, but it was hard because she felt betrayed by both of them. Sure, entering a relationship with the person you loved brother probably wasn’t ideal... Especially when you ended up falling for him too. She had mostly forgiven the both of them, and in turn was keeping a little bit of distance while she tried to work through her feelings about it. However, Campbell had begged Jade to come over to spend time with the both of them, and considering she did miss Campbell... she said yes. When she arrived it was Rory and Campbell on the couch, and something felt... weird. “I just got here. Why are both of you looking suspicious?” Jade let out a little huff. “I had an invitation, it’s not like I could’ve interrupted you two fucking.”
Rory sighed, simply shaking his head at her words. He was thankful that Jade was even still talking to the two of them, when the alternative was that she’d never speak to them again. However, it felt like it was time to put Campbell’s crazy plan of entering a relationship with the three of them into action. “No one’s looking suspicious, Jade,” Rory denied, but he was nervous and though he was often confident... his nervousness was getting the best of him.

FROM: FAYE — I know, and I always enjoy takin’ them off of you. Though most of the time we kinda skip the taking off clothes and pushin’ aside which I definitely blame you for. You and that sweet smile, how could I resist? FROM: FAYE — But I’m definitely in the mood to spoil you. We just got our financial reports and you and your glorious pictures put us right at the top. FROM: FAYE — I’m very proud of you and I want you to know it. So that definitely means a shopping trip. FROM: FAYE — I want to buy the cutest dresses for you — several other things, too. You equally look all cute bundled up in sweaters and the like, but... FROM: FAYE — For what I have planned, maybe we should do somethin’....with easy access 💕 Those dressin’ rooms are nice and convenient, y’know.....

Sunlight coming in through the partially opened windows was what woke her up first. The second was the soft breathing coming from her side. Looking over, Stevie took a moment to just appreciate the peaceful sight that was a sleeping Theo. Turning just enough to lay on her side, she studied her features, wanting to memorize them. The way her eyelashes fanned so delicately against her cheekbones, how her lips, perfectly plump, were slightly puckered as she left, how she slept with one hand delicately tucked under her head. It took a lot to get a woman like Stevie to fall but something about Theo made her fall hard. Bringing a hand to gently caress her cheek, she winced slightly when the action caused Theo to stir. “Sorry,” she murmured, withdrawing her hand as she saw her eyes begin to flutter. She wasn’t sorry for waking her up, not exactly, but rather she just wanted more time. More quiet time, more of that time before the whole world woke up and Stevie was forced to retreat back into her shell. But the moment that Theo’s eyes met hers, her smile returned, relaxed and lazy. “Good morning,” she said, leaning forward to press a quick kiss to her lips, morning breath be damned. “Did I wake you too early?” Reaching behind her to blindly grab at her phone, she closed an eye as she focused on the time. It was about fifteen minutes past nine; at least she didn’t wake the other too early. Putting her phone back, she placed another kiss to her lips. “How about we order some room service and have breakfast in bed, then maybe we can have another show then return to bed and not leave it for the rest of the day?” Typically she hated staying in one place for too long, but the one exception had always been bed (and it didn’t always have to be her own).

Muffy was three drinks deep and swaying in the VIP section that she booked out for her friends when she spotted someone calling Theo over. It’d been a little while since they’d seen each other, and while it’d been happening she’d been caught up in some super toxic girlfriend drama that she’d only stopped vague tweeting about the week prior. She was feeling freshly single and desperate for some attention that didn’t come from their mostly straight friends who wanted to kiss her because she was just so damn good at it (and because she was rich and exciting). Standing up, she tugged the hemline of her ostrich feather lined dress down and made a beeline for them, throwing back the drink in her hand. “Theo!” The club speakers drowned her voice out a little bit, but she saw her looking around, meaning that she’d heard her name. As she got closer, they locked eyes and Muffy smiled. “You, me, dancefloor? I’ll buy you a driiiiink?” Her eyebrows wiggled with her offer, hoping they would take it.               /  @theforgottenwanderers

She promised herself she wasn’t going to cry. It wasn’t even the worst breakup she’s ever been through and she was stronger than sheading some tears over someone who didn’t deserve them anyway but as Elliott pulled her in, Andrea couldn’t help the sudden water works. She sank into her best friend, leaning against her as they practically curled up on the couch together. The soccer player didn’t let just anyone see her cry, in fact there were probably plenty of people who thought of her as stone cold the way she lacked emotion at times but anyone close enough to Andrea knew it was pretty much the exact opposite. The forward had a huge heart, sometimes too big for her own good, she just learned at a very young age that not everyone was worthy of seeing your vulnerable side. But Elliott... Elliott had seen her through her absolute best and worst times in her life. There wasn’t anything the two didn’t share with each other now after years of such a close friendship. So close that everyone especially their teammates teased them relentlessly about how they were like an old married couple and would ‘definitely end up together someday.’ Secretly a part of Andrea always wished for it but she was also a realist and knew it would more than likely never happen. Elliott didn’t see her that way, she was sure of it. But whatever way she did see her, Andrea couldn’t have been more grateful for. She was always there for her in a way that no one else ever had been. She was her tether, even when she was her storm, if that made any sense. She craved being close to Elliott in a way she couldn’t describe and never experienced with anyone else before. It could be just a few hours away from her best friend and Andrea would feel a ridiculous void inside herself. She wasn’t co-dependent but some things maybe toed that line just a little too closely which was why the distance of being on different club teams and not being together all the time probably served them well and kept their friendship at bay. The off season made for lots of togetherness though and never had there been a time she was so happy the defender came to spend New Years Eve with her.
Andy gripped tightly to Elliott’s hoodie and pressed her forehead into the slightly older woman’s chest pulling herself together. “Ugh, I’m sorry. I promised myself I wasn’t gonna do that. Thank you for being here for me though.” Glassy blue pools that somehow got even brighter when she cried met Elliott’s hazel hues as she did her best to smile at the one person she felt so lucky and blessed to always have by her side. She did her best but failed a bit when it came to not getting lost in mapping out the freckles on the perfect face opposite hers. “Come on, it’s New Years Eve, no time to be moping around. Let’s open a bottle of -- whatever you brought over to choose from.” The brunette reluctantly recoiled herself from the space next to Elliott’s body and tapped her knee with a smile as she used it at leverage to push herself up. “Do you have a preference?” she asked making her way into the kitchen. “You’re more of an expert than I am. Can you mix any of this together to make something fancy? Teach me, senpai.”  @theforgottenwanderers

there was a tiny silver band with a huge diamond attached to it currently sitting in heather’s pocket that felt like it seemed to weigh the world. she never had been one for flashy jewellery but clearly her new husband-to-be didn’t know that. he didn’t know her at all. he was the last thing on her mind though. the only person she was able to think about was stood at the other side of the door from her and she waited in trepidation for it to swing open. when it did, she forced her lips to curl up at the edges in a façade of nothing being wrong. the expression she was met with made it fall in a matter of seconds. still, she greeted monroe with her usual greeting as she breezed past her to step inside. “hi, you.”

men were trash. it was officially settled. and it was personal this time. she’d been able to brush off a lot of things from her fiancé. she’d been able to forgive a lot of things for her fiancé. but this? ditching her at the altar. after months of planning. all the waiting they’d done for that day. after four years. garbage. normally she wasn’t nearly this spiteful but in her mind, the least he could do was forfeit his ticket to the honeymoon. which she hadn’t asked him to do. the sealed envelope had always been stowed away in her dress box, so when her bestfriend suggested (jokingly) that they go, for once in her life, winnie threw caution to the wind and they made a dash for the airport. she’d almost backed out of course, but she’d gotten wasted enough at the airport bar to load the plane and pass out, only to be woken by the fasten your seat belts sign chiming, signaling that landing was coming soon.       win stirred in her seat, legs and arms outstretched with a soft whine and a yawn as she smoothed the heel of one hand against her temple and roused enough to look at the femme in the seat beside her. “would you be surprised to hear that i can actually remember where i am?” she asked with a weak smile, tired laugher floating from her hoarse throat as she uncapped her water bottle and took a sip. “did they say how much longer till we land?

blowing out a breath of air, chloe looked at the party going on around her. kids were running around, adults mulling about, and there was no one to keep her company. that was until she saw the tall tall frame of her father’s younger brother turn around the corner. smiling to herself, she got up, drink in hand, and followed after him. luckily, no one stopped her or wanted to talk and she walked right up to him as he sat in the quiet living room. “hey uncle ‘nando,” she greeted, immediately moving to sit on his lap, grateful for the lack of occupants in the room to question her seating. “i’m bored. let’s do something fun.” her eyebrow quirked up knowing their version of fun needed to be done privately.

“I didn’t expect to see you here...” Nora’s teeth sunk into her lower lip the moment she laid eyes on her ex. Sure, Nora was the one that invited them-- she always did on opening nights of new exhibits-- but it was always a toss up as to whether Blake would actually show. And of course they looked stunning-- she silently cursed herself for thinking the other would be anything less than that. She snaked an arm around Blake’s waist, placing a quick kiss to her cheek. “I was starting to think all of those invitations were getting lost in the mail.”
