i decided to watch a bit of gfa in a russian dub to see if there's anything interesting and there wasn't but it did make me curious about the way characters use the formal and informal you (вы/ты)
first of all, sidney and hawkeye use informal you for each other which is reasonable since they're friends but formal you could also fit for them since sidney is his therapist
in season 6 margaret and charles use formal you for each other but by gfa they drop it and use informal you (the switch happens fairly quickly - by the end of season 6 they have already dropped it. also they drop it in the middle of an argument in war of nerves and then pick it up again lmao)
everyone uses formal you for father mulcahy while he uses informal you for everyone but potter and henry. this makes sense since they address him as "father" but it does give his role in the camp a fun new layer of othering (btw sidney and father mulcahy use formal you for each other. therapist4therapist)
radar and klinger use the formal you for everyone who ranks higher than them, including hawkeye (which i feel like he wouldn't stand for but whatever, i get why they did it - both klinger and radar call the officers 'sir' often which implies formal and it would be weird for them to switch from formal to informal all the time while talking to hawkeye)
reasonably enough, everyone uses formal you for potter while he uses informal you for everyone except strangers and higher ranking officers
hawkeye and trapper are the only ones who use the informal you for henry. henry himself uses the informal you for everyone in his camp, even when he addresses them by their rank
