Imagine William accidentally adopting a human baby. It was completely unplanned and happened due to pure chance. He was in the airport at roughly 12am for his flight back to Dahlia after a work trip. He had just checked his bags in, and he decided to visit the restroom before finding his gate. As he washed his hands he felt a small tug on the his pant leg, almost unnoticeable, but his vampire sense amplified the feeling. He looked down to see a small child, definitely not even a year old, on all fours staring up at him with the most innocent expression he had ever seen. They looked tousled and unkempt, as if they had been left behind and uncared for for days, and William couldn't help but feel his heart pang for the sweet child. He quickly wiped his hands dry on his kerchief and went to pick them up off the dirty bathroom floor. As soon as he picked them up, they wrapped their small arms around his neck and fit their head into the crook of his shoulder. It was then and there that Will decided that he would keep and raise the baby as his own. They quietly fell asleep on him while William found the gate to board the plane, trancing a few people on the way there to allow him to keep the child, who had no boarding pass. Once on the plane and in his first class seat, he wrapped them loosely in a blanket and woke them up for some water. He had expected and prepared for them to cry when woken up, but upon awaking they just stared at him for a second before smiling and babbling, their cute little hands grabbing his hair and fingers. William's heart melted as he smiled back, giving them some water and food before putting them back to sleep.

This child becomes the pride and joy of the Solaire Clan. The clan would do absolutely anything for this small baby. They live with and spend most of their time with Will. The clan has walked in on him sitting in his office coloring with them on coloring sheets using the 152 pack of crayons he had splurged on multiple times. Vincent has come to meet his maker several times and ended up picking up a crayon and spending time with them for hours. Alexis has become accustomed to coming by to discuss important things with William and caught him reading to them while they fell asleep on his shoulder. She claims to want nothing to do with the baby at first, but Vincent has caught her smoothing down the child's hair and putting into pigtails when she thought no one was watching. Sam loves taking the kid out for Saturday night dinner with Darlin'. Darlin' stops by some afternoons to take them to the park so they can get some sun without troubling the vampires. Lovely used to take them before the inversion but now they've switched to just watching cartoons with them in the evenings. Fred and Bright take it upon themselves to be the cool relatives and give this child anything it could ever want. At the end of the day, William and the baby have a special bond. They sleep on him during clan meetings, he can always stop their tears in seconds, and they fall into his routine so easily, it seems that they were meant to be part of it all along.

There is no child raised more lovingly in the world than the one raised by the Solaire Clan.
